Math word problem uses a real word story to present basic arithmetic operations using textual narration. It is used to develop student’s comprehension skill in conjunction with the ability to generate a solution that agrees with the story given in the problem. To master math word problem solving, students need to be given fresh and enormous amount of problems, which normal textbooks as well as teachers fail to provide most of the time. To fill the gap, a few research works have been proposed on techniques to automatically generate math word problems and equations mainly for English speaking community. Amharic is a Semitic language spoken by more than hundred million Ethiopians and is a language of instruction in elementary schools in Ethiopia. And yet it belongs to one of a less resourced language in the field of linguistics and natural language processing (NLP). Hence, in this paper, a strategy for automatic generation of Amharic Math Word (AMW) problem and equation is proposed, which is a first attempt to introduce the use template based shallow NLP approach to generate math word problem for Amharic language as a step towards enabling comprehension and learning problem solving in mathematics for primary school students. The proposed novel technique accepts a sample AMW problem as user input to form a template. A template provides AMW problem with placeholders, type of problem and equation template. It is used as a pattern to generate semantically equivalent AMW problems with their equations. To validate the reality of the proposed approach, a prototype was developed and used as a testing platform. Experimental results have shown 93.84% overall efficiency on the core task of forming templates from a given corpus containing AMW problems collected from elementary school mathematics textbooks and other school worksheets. Human judges have also found generated AMW problem and equation as solvable as the textbook problems. 展开更多

Hollow multi-shelled structures(HoMSs)have made significant strides across a wide spectrum of scientific investigations since the inception of the sequential templating approach(STA)in 2009,revealing distinctive temporal-spatial ordering properties.The recent establishment of a mathematical model for STA has not only demystified the formation of concentration waves within the STA process but also extended its relevance to gentler solutionbased systems,thereby broadening the HoMs landscape.Herein,focusing on photoelectric applications,this review first summarizes the unique temporal-spatial ordering features of HoMs.Subsequentially,the greatly enhanced properties of light capture and absorption,exciton separation,and transfer are deeply discussed.Finally,we conclude with a perspective on the potential challenges and burgeoning opportunities that lie ahead in the advancement of HoMs development. 展开更多

Hollow multishelled structure(HoMs)has drawn tremendous attention due to its abundant attractive properties and promising applications.However,for a long time,the limited synthesis method hindered the development of HoMs.The sequential templating approach developed by our group,has greatly enriched its composition and'structure diversity.The progress in HoMS synthesis promotes the discovery of its characteristics as well as widens its application area.Typicall,the recently explored temporal-spatial ordering characteristic of HoMS has shown great promise in drug delivery and cascade catalysis application areas.Here,we summarize the current development progress of HoMS in the aspects of both synthesis and application,with a focus discussion on how to shape its application performance by manipulating its composition and structure features.In addition,we discuss the current challenges and providethe future potentials holdingfor HoMs. 展开更多

Hollow multishelled structure(HoMS)is one of the most promising multifunctional structures.The high complexity of its structure makes the general and controllable synthesis of HoMS rather challenging.By integration of multidisciplinary knowledge,a great achievement in HoMSs has been obtained in the past decade.Especially,the developed sequential templating approach has significantly boomed the progress of HoMS in composition and structure diversity and application area.The implementation of the temporal-spatial ordering in HoMS makes it indispensable in solving the key scientific problems in energy conversion,catalysis and drug delivery areas.Further development in HoMSs with novel intricate structures will bring new understandings.In this review,we systematically introduce the development history of HoMSs,summarize the inspiration inherited from the previous research on hollow structures,and discuss the milestones in the development of HoMSs,with a focus on the sequential templating approach for HoMS fabrication,attractive temporal-spatial ordering property and dynamic smart behavior for advanced applications.We hope to reveal the inherent relationship between the precise synthesis of HoMS and its highly tunable compositional and structural characteristics,and point out its future direction to boost HoMS area further. 展开更多

Left and right-handed helical barium titanate nanotubes are prepared with the impregnation of Ba(OH)2 into single-handed helical titania nanotubes.Wide angle X-ray diffraction pattern and transmission electron microscopy image indicate that they are constructed by nanoparticles with a partially crystalline structure.The diffuse reflertance circular dichroism spectra indicate that they exhibit optical activity which was proposed to originate from chiral defects on the inner surfaces of the nanotubes.Both the dielectric constant and tanδ decrease with increasing the frequency.At 10 and 100 Hz,one dielectric constant peak at 9.6℃ and one tanδ peak at 5.0℃ are observed at -120℃ to 180℃. 展开更多
