Address terms are an important resource for conveying relationships.In daily interactions,the use of address terms is unavoidable.Therefore,the choose of address terms is particularly critical to make communicate smoothly with people.Previous scholars have studied address terms from a wide range of perspectives.But there is not much research on Chinese address terms based on speech act theory,which is put forward by John Langshaw Austin.By observing communicative conversations,several findings have been emerged from the analysis.They are professional title,affectionate address terms,and common address terms.These findings express the existential significance of address terms,which are the premise for people to maximize their illocutionary act when communicating.Correct understanding and grasp of the use of address terms is conductive to unfolding the communicative dialogue more smoothly.

Research on the Translation of Chinese Twenty-Four Solar Terms: A Skopos Theory Perspective

In the current era of rapid development, excellent culture needs to be inherited and spread to the world. Therefore, it is essential to consider the translation of the 24 solar terms. China persists in the principle of the Belt and Road Initiative, adheres to the guidance of Chinese traditional excellent culture goes global, and enhances the influence of Chinese culture on the words, the culture of the words communicating and developing constantly. This paper analyzes and compares translations of different versions, explores the necessity of translation strategies for translation, then summaries the translation strategy, ultimately figures out the development space, ted texts and promote the exchange of Chinese and foreign cultures.

An Analysis of Different Addressing Terms in High Context Communication and Low Context Communication from the Perspective of Frame Theory

Within the scope of human beings, some addressing terms are similar. However, different addressing terms still exist,which are influenced by the background of high context communication or low context communication. A good example is that Chinese traditional culture, a typical instance of high context communication, puts much emphasis on etiquette, which is represented in addressing terms as more complex and definite; In western, with the background of low context communication, every individual is more equal and they address each other more generally and much simpler. This paper tries to explore the addressing terms both in Chinese and in English from the perspective of frame theory.

The Multidimensional Description and Investigation of New Color Terms:A Metaphorical Cognitive Approach

This article studies the new color terms in Chinese.It first classifies the color terms from four linguistic aspects:pronunciation,grammar,semantics,linguistic context and the theory of "Four Worlds," namel,language,physics,culture,and psychology.It then summarizes all the characteristics of the new color terms.The study takes questionnaires as supplementary data,explores and proves the interactive relationship between metaphorical expression and cognitive psychology of new color words.The life span of such new color terms is also discussed.

MULTIPLICITY OF SOLUTIONS AND SOURCE TERMS IN A FOURTH ORDER NONLINEAR ELLIPTIC EQUATION

The authors investigatc relations between multiplicity of solutions and sourceterms of the fourth order nonlinear elliptic boundary value problem under Dirichlet boundary condition △2u＋c△u = bu+＋f inΩ, wherc Ω is a bounded open set in Rn with smoothbonndary and the nonlinearity bu+ crosses eigenvalues of △2 ＋c△. They investigate therelatiolls when the source term is constant and when it is generated by two eigenfuntions.

An evaluation of input/dissipation terms in WAVEWATCH Ⅲ using in situ and satellite significant wave height data in the South China Sea

A WAVEWATCH III version 3.14(WW3) wave model is used to evaluate input/dissipation source term packages WAM3, WAM4 and TC96 considering the effect of atmospheric instability. The comparisons of a significant wave height acquired from the model with different packages have been performed based on wave observation radar and HY-2 altimetry significant wave height data through five experiments in the South China Sea domain spanning latitudes of 0°–35°N and longitudes of 100°–135°E. The sensitivity of the wind speed correction parameter in the TC96 package also has been analyzed. From the results, the model is unable to dissipate the wave energy efficiently during a swell propagation with either source packages. It is found that TC96 formulation with the "effective wind speed" strategy performs better than WAM3 and WAM4 formulations. The wind speed correction parameter in the TC96 source package is very sensitive and needs to be calibrated and selected before the WW3 model can be applied to a specific region.

A Contrastive Study on Cultural Connotations of Chinese and English Color Terms

Both Chinese and English are rich in the words denoting different colors. Cultural connotations of these words,however,arouse more interest than their lexical meanings due to the discrepancy between the two languages deriving from the differences of the speakers' cultural background,social customs,and aesthetic interests. On the English Translations of “姐姐”(“jiejie”)and “妹妹”(“meimei”)Fictive Terms of Address in Honglou Meng

Based on a thorough case study of Yang's and Hawks' translations of the fictive kinship terms of address"姐姐/妹妹"in Honglou Meng, this paper analyzes the cultural and contextual connotations of the terms in the original, discusses comparatively the misinterpretations of the translations from target readers and explores the cultural orientations and translation strategies of the two versions, proposing that in translating these cultural-and-contextual-bound terms, translators should be bi-culturally conscious and take into account target readers' interpretation as well as make cultural compensations so as to bring out the exact people relations and retain contextual and cultural connotations.

Forest Canopy Flow Analysis Using Turbulence Model with Source/Sink Terms

A computational fluid dynamics( CFD) model was presented to simulate wind flow over a forest canopy for analyzing the wind flow within and above forest canopies. Unlike previous studies on the canopy flow,the effect of canopy contour on the canopy was considered to develop the simulation method into a more general but complex case of wind flow over a forest canopy,using cedrus deodara and cinnamomum camphora. The desire of this work is mainly motivated to provide a rational way for predicting the wind flow within and above vegetation canopies. The model of canopy is not incorporated in the geometrical model,and it uses a porous domain combined with k-ε two-equation turbulence model with source / sink terms. The objectives of this paper are to analyze the contour of pressure and velocity and compare the simulation results with other works and field measurements. Results are encouraging,as the model profiles of mean velocity( u) qualitatively agree well with other works compared with and quantitatively have similar explanations as several authors. In conclusion, it is demonstrated that the adoption turbulence model with source / sink terms for forest canopies is proved to be a physically accurate and numerically robust method. The model and method are recommended for future use in simulating turbulent flows in forest canopies.

Dynamic Analysis of Fractional-Order Fuzzy BAM Neural Networks with Delays in the Leakage Terms

In this paper, based on the theory of fractional-order calculus, we obtain some sufficient conditions for the uniform stability of fractional-order fuzzy BAM neural networks with delays in the leakage terms. Moreover, the existence, uniqueness and stability of its equilibrium point are also proved. A numerical example is presented to demonstrate the validity and feasibility of the proposed results.

Changes in Net Barter Terms of Trade for Sino-Australian Agricultural Products after China's Accession to the WTO

Using " chain-based and constant-based" two-step method,this paper measured Paasche net barter terms of trade index for SinoAustralian agricultural products from 2001 to 2013,and further calculated contribution of each category of agricultural products to changes in overall net barter terms of trade. The results showed that since 2001,the overall net barter terms of trade for Sino-Australian agricultural products fluctuated between deterioration and improvement. In 2013,the net barter terms of trade index was 1. 02,and its improvement is not significant. From 2001 to 2013,the net barter terms of trade for Sino-Australian agricultural products improved about 16. 44%,which dominated by the category 0 agricultural products whose influence degree is 6 times and 28 times the degree of category 4 and category 1. In years when the net barter terms of trade for Sino-Australian agricultural products deteriorated,category 2 agricultural products were the root cause for the deterioration.
