The depletion of nutrients and the estimation of the new production in the ice-edge of the Prydz Bay,Antarctica

The distributions and changes of nutrients in the Prydz Bay were investigated during CHINARE 6(the 6th Chinese National Antarctic Research Expedition) and CHINARE 9, and the new productions were estimated by using m... The distributions and changes of nutrients in the Prydz Bay were investigated during CHINARE 6(the 6th Chinese National Antarctic Research Expedition) and CHINARE 9, and the new productions were estimated by using mass balance method. The results showed that in CHINARE 6, the depletion of NO 3 N, PO 4 P, SiO 3 Si were 1064.8, 69.2, 2196.9 mmol/m 2 ,respectively, the uptake ratios of N and Si to P were 15.3, 31.7, respectively, and new production was 992.4 mgC/(m 2·d) ; in CHINARE 9, the depletion of NO 3 N, PO 4 P were 551.9 , 41.2 mmol/m 2 , respectively, the uptake ratio of N to P was 13.4,and the new production was 390.1 mgC/(m 2·d) , indicating significant annual and/or seasonal variation. New productions were both greater than the primary production determined by 14 C trace method, demonstrating there existed rather higher new production in the Prydz Bay in austral summer. The uptake ratio of nutrients in the Prydz Bay, however, is different from the previous values obtained from the open sea, showing the regional difference of uptake and regeneration of nutrients in the Southern Ocean. Finally the annual change of new production and the characteristics of phytoplankton production were discussed. 展开更多

In this paper, a photoelectric signal obtained scheme via equator triangle pattern engraved on rotor is discussed and the mathematic model is deduced in the case which is deflexion between rotor axis and the coordinate frame of case. The deflexion error and coupling error under the situation are analyzed. Finally, three methods of engraving based on the spherical triangle pattern are presented. The error models of various methods are built up and the simulation curves are provided respectively. We have done the primary experiments on the surface of rotor using this method. It can be seen from the enlarged figures that the rim of the pattern is smooth and the demand of sensor resolution is satisfied by and large. Glycidyl methaerylate (GMA) is a recently recognized chemical mutagen. In order to explore the mutagenicity and mutagenic process of GMA, plasmid pBR322 was used for in vitro binding, mutant screening, and restriction... Glycidyl methaerylate (GMA) is a recently recognized chemical mutagen. In order to explore the mutagenicity and mutagenic process of GMA, plasmid pBR322 was used for in vitro binding, mutant screening, and restriction enzyme mapping. The binding between GMA and DNA in vitro has been verified by means of a spectrophotometric method. When pBR322 and GMAbound pBR322 were used to transform Eschenchia coli HB101, the following results were obtained: (1) The transformation efficiency of GMA-bound pBR322 was much lower than that of pBR322 alone. (2) GMA-bound pBR322 induced phenotype changes in competent cells (i.e., tetracycline-resistance inactivation or ampicillin-resistance inactivation). There were two mutants of pBR322, Ap~RTc~S and Ap~STc~R, in the transformants and a deductive mutant Ap~STc~S in the nontranstormants. (3) All of the selected mutants were stable and heritable. (4) When restriction enzyme maps were used to analyze the mutant Ap~RTc~S, four of seven maps were changed. some sites were shifted to other resistant gene regions, for example, sites of Bgll, EcoRl, Ilindlll. Hinclll, etc., and there was a new recognition site for Hindi (252). We did not observe any DNA fragment insertion or deletion on any maps. Our results suggest that when GMA is covalently linked to the plasmid DNA, it gives rise to a premutagenic lesion of DNA that is converted in vivo into a point mutation. A phase transition starting at -11.6GPa is found. The space group of the high-pressure new phase is proposed as Pmca. Fitting with the Birch-Murnaghan equation of state, the bulk modulus B0 and its pressure derivative B0 of the ambient pressure structure with space group of F43m are B0 = 75.4 GPa and B0 = 4.3, respectively. 展开更多

AIM:To analyze the visual outcomes and the posterior capsule opacification(PCO)with the new Incise?MJ14intraocular lens(IOL)implanted through a 1.4 mm clear corneal incision(CCI)in patients who underwent bimanual microincision cataract surgery(B-MICS).METHODS:Eighty eyes which underwent cataract surgery using B-MICS technique performed by the same experienced surgeon were included in the study:40 eyes were implanted with an Incise?MJ14 IOL through a 1.4 mm CCI(group A)without enlargement of the main CCI,while 40 eyes were implanted with an Akreos?MI60 IOL with enlargement of the main CCI to 1.8 mm(group B).Best corrected visual acuity(BCVA),astigmatism and endothelial cell loss were evaluated before and after surgery at 7,30d and 6mo.Anterior segment-optical coherence tomography(AS-OCT)of CCI was performed at 1,3,7,30d,6 and 18mo.PCO incidence was evaluated at 18mo using EPCO 2000 Software.RESULTS:Mean BCVA improvement and endothelial cell loss were statistically significant at 18mo in both groups with no difference between the two groups;no statistically significant difference in surgically induced astigmatism(SIA)was noticed in the two groups.At AS-OCT the only significant alterations in the CCI were endothelial gaping and local detachment of Descemet’s membrane at 1 and 7d after surgery;no statistically significant alterations were found at 1,6 and 18mo.PCO score at 18mo was 0.03±0.07for group A and 0.08±0.18 for group B(P=0.11)with no sign of central optic plate invasion in both groups.CONCLUSION:The implant of the new Incise?MJ14 IOL through a 1.4 mm CCI and B-MICS technique appeared to be a safe and effective procedure with rapid visual recovery.PCO rate resulted very low and the CCI presented few morphological alterations which were only detectable in the first days postoperatively and achieved fast corneal healing during the long-term follow-up. 展开更多

Trace amount of silver showed significant effect on the efficiency of light emission of HDEA during a positive trigonometrical wave pulse was exerted on the electrodes In the present paper, the ecl spectra of HDEA have been measured. λ_(max) is 410 nm. The reaction of HDEA chemiluminescence and the circular voltammetry, ultraviolet-visible spectrometry for the system have been investigated. The possible mechanism of the ecl of HDEA-KCL-KOH-Ag(I) system has been proposed. 展开更多

A new kind of vanadium bronze with rich lithium (Li_5V_5O_(15))was prepared from Li_2CO_3 and V_2O_5 at 680℃ for 24 hrs. The charge and discharge curves of bronze electrode were determined in organic electrolyte. One mole of this material could be incorporated up to 4 mole lithium at 0.2mA/cm^2 and 1.0V cut-off voltage, corresponding capacity about 340Ah/kg. Compared with the cell of Li/Li_(1+x)V_3O_5 the cell of Li/new bronze had higher capacity, smoother discberge curve, but lower plateau voltage (about 1.8V). The cycling behaviour of this material was good. The electrode insertion reaction was controlled by the lithium diffusion process in the bronze. This new bronze could be used for low voltage rechargeable lithium battery. 展开更多
