The amounts of transcripts... A repeated sequence DNA fragment, L5B-4, was cloned from the 5 kb BamHI DNA fragments of rat genomic DNA. The expressions of the L5B-4 DNA fragment are different in liver and hepatoma cells. The amounts of transcripts in hepatoma cells are lower in nucleus and higher in cytoplasm, especially in polysomal RNA, as compared with that in liver cells. The alteration shown in polysomal RNA of hepatoma cells seems to be specific. These results are discussed with respect to the possible function of this repeated DNA and its variation in hepatoma cells. 展开更多

The abnormal expression of E-cadherin in intrahepatic bile duct epithelia cells in biliary atresia and its relationship with apoptosis

To explore the relationship between the expression of E-cadherin and the apoptosis in intrahepatic bile duct epithelial cells in biliary atresia (BA).Methods The E-cadherin expression was demonstrated by immunohistochemical staining for the liver specimens from 38 children with BA and 16 normal children.The apoptotic intrahepatic bile duct epithelial cells in these specimens were visualized by TdT-mediated dUTP-digoxigenin nick end labeling (TUNEL) assay,and the apoptotic index (AI) was calculated from the percentage of apoptotic cells in total cells.Results The intensity of E-cadherin expression in bile duct epithelial cells in BA group was lower than that in the normal control group (0.33±0.12 vs 0.62±0.20,P<0.01).On the other hand,the AI in BA group was significant higher than that in control group (51.74±19.93 vs 12.34±19.32,P<0.01).An inverse correlation was detected between the intensity of E-cadherin and the AI in the liver from children with BA.Conclusion The abnormal decrease of E-cadherin may lead to an increase of the apoptosis of intrahepatic bile epithelial cells in BA,resulting in developmental disorder of intrahepatic bile duct and ductal plate malformation in the liver.12 refs,4 figs,1 tab. 展开更多

The effects of alveolar macrophage (Am) conditioned media from interstitial lung disease (ILD) patients on fibroblast (FB), and the role of calcium (Ca2+) blockers and calmodulin (CaM) inhibitors on the proliferation of lung FB were studied. We found that the AM conditioned media could stimulate FB cell proliferation and this effect could be abolished by Ca2+ blockers and CaM inhibitors. The results indicated that AM was in activated state in ILD and released some kinds of cytokines to stimulate the proliferation of FB, and Ca,2+ CaM were partially responsible for these actions. 展开更多

In this paper, an application of fault current limiter-thyristor controller series reactor (FCL-TCSR) in the distribution network is presented in order to minimize the peak value of current during the fault condition. This application considers a single fault current limiting action but can also be applied for a three phase system. The maximum contribution of FCL-TCSR quickly clears the abnormal current in the power distribution system when a fault condition occurs. Using a mathematical model of FCL-TCSR, the impact of series impedance used to adjust the amplitude of the fault current action is demonstrated. The performance of the load with the impedance and load in series is also analyzed. 展开更多

3D ground-penetrating radar has been widely used in urban road underground disease detection due to its nondestructive,efficient,and intuitive results.However,the 3D imaging of the underground target body presents the... 3D ground-penetrating radar has been widely used in urban road underground disease detection due to its nondestructive,efficient,and intuitive results.However,the 3D imaging of the underground target body presents the edge plate phenomenon due to the space between the 3D radar array antennas.Consequently,direct 3D imaging using detection results cannot reflect underground spatial distribution characteristics.Due to the wide-beam polarization of the ground-penetrating radar antenna,the emission of electromagnetic waves with a specific width decreases the strong middle energy on both sides gradually.Therefore,a bicubic high-precision 3D target body slice-imaging fitting algorithm with changing trend characteristics is constructed by combining the subsurface target characteristics with the changing spatial morphology trends.Using the wide-angle polarization antenna’s characteristics in the algorithm to build the trend factor between the measurement lines,the target body change trend and the edge detail portrayal achieve a 3D ground-penetrating radar-detection target high-precision fitting.Compared with other traditional fitting techniques,the fitting error is small.This paper conducts experiments and analyses on GpaMax 3D forward modeling and 3D ground-penetrating measured radar data.The experiments show that the improved bicubic fitting algorithm can eff ectively improve the accuracy of underground target slice imaging and the 3D ground-penetrating radar’s anomaly interpretation. 展开更多
