Based on comprehensive analyses on the distribution of magnetic susceptibility and CaCO3 and paleo-ecology indicated by fossils in the region, it is considered that the sedimentation cycles resulted from dry-cold and warm-humid climate fluctuations. Magnetic susceptibility values and CaCO3 contents in stratigraphic sectors I, III, V and II, IV basically respectively present peaks and low vales, and the former three can in time correlate with MIS5a, MIS5c and MIS5e successively and the latter two with MIS5b and MIS5d. In addition, some horizons of eolian dune sands and the low vales of their magnetic susceptibility and CaCO3 are also correlated with 6 periods of cooling events indicated by the higher content of foraminifer Neogloboquadrina pachyderma (S.) documented in the V29—191 drill in the North Atlantic and the cold events recorded by δ 18O in the ice cores in GRIP, especially with 9 periods of dust events in Chinese Loess Plateau.展开更多
Palaeoclimatic and palaeoenvironmental reconstructions of the Cryogenian Period have attracted attention in relation to the debated“Snowball Earth”hypothesis and the early evolution of metazoan life.The carbon cycle...Palaeoclimatic and palaeoenvironmental reconstructions of the Cryogenian Period have attracted attention in relation to the debated“Snowball Earth”hypothesis and the early evolution of metazoan life.The carbon cycle and redox conditions of the Sturtian-Marinoan non-glacial interval have been subjected to much controversy in the past decades because of the lack of a high-resolution stratigraphic correlation scheme.As one of the typical Sturtian-Marinoan interglacial deposits,the Datangpo Formation was widely distributed in South China with shales continuously deposited.The previous zircon dating data of the Datangpo Formation provide important ages for global constrain of the Sturtian-Marinoan non-glacial interval.Here we present a high-resolution straitigraphic study of the organic carbon isotopes of the Datangpo Formation from a drill core section in northern Guizhou Province.Based on measured episodicδ^(13)C_(org) perturbations,three positive shifts and three negative excursions are identified.Aδ^(13)C_(org)-based chemostratigraphic correlation scheme is proposed herein that works well for the Datangpo Formation regionally.Meanwhile,theδ^(13)C_(org) vertical gradients changed dynamically throughout the formation.This discovery implies that a significant ocean circulation overturn might have occurred in the upper Datangpo Formation,coinciding with the potential oxygenation.展开更多
BACKGROUND Immune checkpoint inhibitor-associated interstitial lung disease(ICI-ILD)and opportunistic pneumonias are the main pulmonary complications during immunotherapy for malignancies.The organizing pneumonia(OP)p...BACKGROUND Immune checkpoint inhibitor-associated interstitial lung disease(ICI-ILD)and opportunistic pneumonias are the main pulmonary complications during immunotherapy for malignancies.The organizing pneumonia(OP)pattern is one of the common radiological manifestations of ICI-ILD,and OP is the most common cause of reversed halo cycles and consolidations.However,opportunistic pneumonias should be excluded.CASE SUMMARY In this report,we described a case of a 44-year-old man with esophageal cancer who showed multiple reversed-halo cycles and consolidations on chest computed tomography(CT)after he had a cold during immunotherapy.He was diagnosed with esophageal squamous-cell cancer(T2NIM0)after surgery.Then,he was successfully treated with 6 cycles of chemotherapy plus tislelizumab,one cycle of radiotherapy and 9 cycles of tislelizumab.Two months later,he complained of low-grade fever and cough with nonpurulent sputum after he had a cold.Community-acquired pneumonia was considered,but moxifloxacin was ineffective.Chest CT showed multiple reversed-halo cycles and consolidations.Mycobacterium tuberculosis was identified with next-generation sequence analysis of bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF).Two months later,he improved with standard anti-tuberculosis medications.Both the cycles and consolidations disappeared in the repeat CT after 6 mo of medications.CONCLUSION When chest CT shows reversed-halo cycles and consolidations in patients during anticancer immunotherapy,both ICI-ILD and infectious pneumonia should be considered.BALF microbiological analysis was helpful to differentiate them.展开更多

For example, there is the periodicity of about 80 days for the occurrence, rate of proton flares for solar activity cycles 19 and 20 found by Ai and Fan ci:i at 1974. Recently a periodicity of about 152 days of the occurrence rate of solar flares has been proposed by some authors. a3’5】7:i The existence of this periodicity hsa been proved in the various solar flares. In this paper using the data of solar microwave bursts from January 1986 to December 1988, a Fourier analysis of the occurrence rate of solar microwave bursts has been made. It is established that nasal cycle during 24-hours registration contains from 4 to 8 time full periods, length of which varies from 0.80 h to 5.75 h. The mean length of all full periods is 2.80 ± 0.17 h. The mean length of full periods of left nostril is 3.07 h and the mean length of periods of right nostril is 2.43 h. The result suggests that there is any asymmetry in length of periods of airflow trough left and right nostrils about 40 min. The longer periods of left nostril can be connected with higher metabolic and functional activity of brain and human organism during active work.展开更多

The variability of the critical frequency of the F2 layer of the ionosphere (foF2) is studied for the different seasons of the phase minimum of solar cycle 22 during quiet geomagnetic activity at the Ouagadougou station. The data used are those provided by the ionosonde and the predictions of the two subprograms: International Radio Consultative Committee (CCIR) and International Radio-Scientific Union (URSI) of the 2016 version of the International Reference Ionosphere model. This study shows that, in general, URSI and CCIR of the IRI-2016 model are able to reproduce fairly well the variability of the critical frequency of the F2 layer of the ionosphere at low latitudes during the phase minimum at the Ouagadougou station. However, the model shows an almost homogeneous overestimation of the foF2 during the four seasons studied. The good response is observed between 0700 TL and 1900 TL for the available data. The agreement between the subroutine responses and the observed results is between reasonable and poor. The best match state response is obtained in winter with the CCIR subroutine. These results show that there is a need to improve both CCIR and URSI subroutines of the IRI-2016 model in low latitudes in the African region.展开更多

In this paper, the author...In terms of Earth\|Sun geometry, the Milankovitch theory has successfully explained most of the cyclic palaeoclimatic variations during the history of the Earth, especially in the Quaternary. In this paper, the authors suggest that the impact of extraterrestrial bodies on the Earth may be another mechanism to cause palaeoclimatic cycles, global environmental changes and new glacial periods. Based on geological and geochemical records in the boundary layers produced by six huge Cenozoic bolide\|impact events (65, 34, 15, 2.4, 1.1, 0.73 Ma B.P.), including those at 34, 15, 1.1 and 0.73 Ma B.P. which are represented by four famous tektite\|strewn fields, the process and mechanics of palaeoclimatic cycles and global environmental catastrophes induced by extraterrestrial impact are discussed in detail. Impact\|generated dust, soot and aerosol floating in the stratosphere could result in short\|term (<1 year), rapid drop in temperature immediately after impact. Through self\|regulation of the Earth’s climate system, the temperature at the surface slowly went up within 100a and maintained stable for a long time at 250K. If there were no other factors leading to the break\|down of the newly\|established equilibrium, a new glacial period would be initiated. Estimating from the thickness of \{δ\{\}\+\{13\}C\} and \{δ\{\}\+\{18\}O\} anomalies in sediments across the impact boundary layer and deposition rate, the duration of two stages of the palaeoclimate cycle in the form of cold weather—greenhouse effect—normal weather was 10\+4-10\+5a, respectively. The conclusion deduced from the above model is supported by palaeotemperature change recorded by oxygen isotope in sediments across the impact boundary layer.展开更多

An unique periodic expo...The photoinduced bulk polymerization of a reactive-hindered amine light stabilizers (r-HALS), 4-acryloyl-2, 2, 6,6-tetramethylpiperidinyl (ATMP), was performed at 80 C by using a DPC technique. An unique periodic exponential attenuation-type oscillating curve was found when the polymerization was carried out in air, but this phenomenon was not found in nitrogen. It is supposed that this unique kinetic performance may be attributed to nitroxyl radicals that are produced in situ from the oxidation of ATMP. ATMP polymer with narrow polydispersity (d = 1.03) can be obtained by photoinduced solution polymerization of ATMP. The signal detected in ESR may be assigned to the nitroxyl radicals in the matrix of ATMP polymer. Since this kind of recycling of nitroxyl radicals is well documented for the photostabilizing mechanism of HALS, the present results may serve as a kinetic evidence for this mechanism.展开更多

In general, this is as close as we can come to solving nonlinear systems. In this research work we study the dynamics of a bead sliding on a wire with a given specified shape. A long wire is bent into the shape of a curve with equation z = f (x) in a fixed vertical plane. We consider two cases, namely without friction and with friction, specifically for the cubic shape f (x) = x3−x . We derive the corresponding differential equation of motion representing the dynamics of the bead. We then study the resulting second order nonlinear ordinary differential equations, by performing simulations using MathCAD 14. Our main interest is to investigate the existence of periodic solutions for this dynamics in the neighbourhood of the critical points. Our results show clearly that periodic solutions do indeed exist for the frictionless case, as the phase portraits exhibit isolated limit cycles in the phase plane. For the case with friction, the phase portrait depicts a spiral sink, spiraling into the critical point.展开更多

This paper uncovers a clockwise energy cycle existing in a mass-spring system, in which the potential energy and kinetic energy convert with each other, and the natural period is determined by the magnitude of the energy cycle. Compared to water flow inside a pipe, the previous methods can be consolidated into two methods to make the energy cycle narrower;one is to optimize the parameters directly, the other is to indirectly add an anticlockwise energy cycle to the original one. The anticlockwise energy cycle has the characteristic of gravitational potential energy or elastic potential energy that reduces with displacement. For each sample, respectively, by applying phase space...A laboratory leaching experiment with samples of different grades was carried out, and an analytical method of concentration of leaching solution was put forward. For each sample, respectively, by applying phase space reconstruction for time series of monitoring data, the saturated embedding dimension and the correlation dimension were obtained, and the evolution laws between neighboring points in the reconstructed phase space were revealed. With BP neural network, a prediction model of concentration of leaching solution was set up and the maximum error of which was less than 2%. The results show that there exist chaotic characteristics in leaching system, and samples of different grades have different nonlinear dynamic features; the higher the grade of sample, the smaller the correlation dimension; furthermore, the maximum Lyapunov index, energy dissipation and chaotic extent of the leaching system increase with grade of the sample; by phase space reconstruction, the subtle change features of concentration of leaching solution can be magnified and the inherent laws can be fully demonstrated. According to the laws, a prediction model of leaching cycle period has been established to provide a theoretical foundation for solution mining.展开更多

Except for the normal function of the circadian rhythm, the ensemb...The principal circadian clock in the suprachiasm nucleus (SCN) regulates the circadian rhythm of physiological and behavioral activities of mammals. Except for the normal function of the circadian rhythm, the ensemble of SCN neurons may show two collective behaviors, i.e., a free running period in the absence of a light-dark cycle and an entrainment ability to an external T cycle. Experiments show that both the free running periods and the entrainment ranges may vary from one species to another and can be seriously influenced by the coupling among the SCN neurons. We here review the recent progress on how the heterogeneous couplings influence these two collective behaviors. We will show that in the case of homogeneous coupling, the free running period increases monotonically while the entrainment range decreases monotonically with the increase of the coupling strength. While in the case of heterogenous coupling, the dispersion of the coupling strength plays a crucial role. It has been found that the free running period decreases with the increase of the dispersion while the entrainment ability is enhanced by the dispersion. These findings provide new insights into the mechanism of the circadian clock in the SCN.展开更多

The whole polarization revers...The Ti-doped waveguide-type periodically poled LiNbO3 (PPLN) were fabricated and the dependence of domain wall velocity on an external field applied for domain inversion was investigated. The whole polarization reversal process was computer-controlled to regulate domain wall expansion at a feedback time shorter than 5 μs. The coercive voltage and several values of excess voltage were applied on 500 μm-thick wafers serially connected to a 1-MOhm external resistor which had an effect of the poling current reduction, i.e. the deceleration of domain wall expansion. The domain wall velocity is sensitive to the poling voltage, precisely speaking, to the excess voltage. The domain wall velocities were 28.70, 16.02 and 5.75 μm·s-1 under poling field of 23.5, 22.0 and 21.0 kV·mm-1, respectively. Moreover, average duty cycle of PPLN is about 49.93%.展开更多

These results show that there is a need to improve both CCIR and URSI subroutines of the IRI-2016 model in low latitudes in the African region.
文摘In terms of Earth\|Sun geometry, the Milankovitch theory has successfully explained most of the cyclic palaeoclimatic variations during the history of the Earth, especially in the Quaternary. In this paper, the authors suggest that the impact of extraterrestrial bodies on the Earth may be another mechanism to cause palaeoclimatic cycles, global environmental changes and new glacial periods. Based on geological and geochemical records in the boundary layers produced by six huge Cenozoic bolide\|impact events (65, 34, 15, 2.4, 1.1, 0.73 Ma B.P.), including those at 34, 15, 1.1 and 0.73 Ma B.P. which are represented by four famous tektite\|strewn fields, the process and mechanics of palaeoclimatic cycles and global environmental catastrophes induced by extraterrestrial impact are discussed in detail. Impact\|generated dust, soot and aerosol floating in the stratosphere could result in short\|term (<1 year), rapid drop in temperature immediately after impact. Through self\|regulation of the Earth’s climate system, the temperature at the surface slowly went up within 100a and maintained stable for a long time at 250K. If there were no other factors leading to the break\|down of the newly\|established equilibrium, a new glacial period would be initiated. Estimating from the thickness of \{δ\{\}\+\{13\}C\} and \{δ\{\}\+\{18\}O\} anomalies in sediments across the impact boundary layer and deposition rate, the duration of two stages of the palaeoclimate cycle in the form of cold weather—greenhouse effect—normal weather was 10\+4-10\+5a, respectively. The conclusion deduced from the above model is supported by palaeotemperature change recorded by oxygen isotope in sediments across the impact boundary layer.

文摘The photoinduced bulk polymerization of a reactive-hindered amine light stabilizers (r-HALS), 4-acryloyl-2, 2, 6,6-tetramethylpiperidinyl (ATMP), was performed at 80 C by using a DPC technique. An unique periodic exponential attenuation-type oscillating curve was found when the polymerization was carried out in air, but this phenomenon was not found in nitrogen. It is supposed that this unique kinetic performance may be attributed to nitroxyl radicals that are produced in situ from the oxidation of ATMP. ATMP polymer with narrow polydispersity (d = 1.03) can be obtained by photoinduced solution polymerization of ATMP. The signal detected in ESR may be assigned to the nitroxyl radicals in the matrix of ATMP polymer. Since this kind of recycling of nitroxyl radicals is well documented for the photostabilizing mechanism of HALS, the present results may serve as a kinetic evidence for this mechanism.
文摘The global phase portrait describes the qualitative behaviour of the solution set of a nonlinear ordinary differential equation, for all time. In general, this is as close as we can come to solving nonlinear systems. In this research work we study the dynamics of a bead sliding on a wire with a given specified shape. A long wire is bent into the shape of a curve with equation z = f (x) in a fixed vertical plane. We consider two cases, namely without friction and with friction, specifically for the cubic shape f (x) = x3−x . We derive the corresponding differential equation of motion representing the dynamics of the bead. We then study the resulting second order nonlinear ordinary differential equations, by performing simulations using MathCAD 14. Our main interest is to investigate the existence of periodic solutions for this dynamics in the neighbourhood of the critical points. Our results show clearly that periodic solutions do indeed exist for the frictionless case, as the phase portraits exhibit isolated limit cycles in the phase plane. For the case with friction, the phase portrait depicts a spiral sink, spiraling into the critical point.
文摘In this paper, we discuss the Poincaré bifurcation of a class of Hamiltonian systems having a region consisting of periodic cycles bounded by a parabola and a straight line. We prove that the system can generate at most two limit cycles and may generate two limit cycles after a small cubic polynomial perturbation.

文摘To obtain a longer natural period in single degree of freedom(SDF) conservative vibration isolation systems, many scholars have proposed different methods. This paper uncovers a clockwise energy cycle existing in a mass-spring system, in which the potential energy and kinetic energy convert with each other, and the natural period is determined by the magnitude of the energy cycle. Compared to water flow inside a pipe, the previous methods can be consolidated into two methods to make the energy cycle narrower;one is to optimize the parameters directly, the other is to indirectly add an anticlockwise energy cycle to the original one. The anticlockwise energy cycle has the characteristic of gravitational potential energy or elastic potential energy that reduces with displacement. The highly abstract method can provide a better optimization tool to design a practice system.

文摘A laboratory leaching experiment with samples of different grades was carried out, and an analytical method of concentration of leaching solution was put forward. For each sample, respectively, by applying phase space reconstruction for time series of monitoring data, the saturated embedding dimension and the correlation dimension were obtained, and the evolution laws between neighboring points in the reconstructed phase space were revealed. With BP neural network, a prediction model of concentration of leaching solution was set up and the maximum error of which was less than 2%. The results show that there exist chaotic characteristics in leaching system, and samples of different grades have different nonlinear dynamic features; the higher the grade of sample, the smaller the correlation dimension; furthermore, the maximum Lyapunov index, energy dissipation and chaotic extent of the leaching system increase with grade of the sample; by phase space reconstruction, the subtle change features of concentration of leaching solution can be magnified and the inherent laws can be fully demonstrated. According to the laws, a prediction model of leaching cycle period has been established to provide a theoretical foundation for solution mining.

文摘The principal circadian clock in the suprachiasm nucleus (SCN) regulates the circadian rhythm of physiological and behavioral activities of mammals. Except for the normal function of the circadian rhythm, the ensemble of SCN neurons may show two collective behaviors, i.e., a free running period in the absence of a light-dark cycle and an entrainment ability to an external T cycle. Experiments show that both the free running periods and the entrainment ranges may vary from one species to another and can be seriously influenced by the coupling among the SCN neurons. We here review the recent progress on how the heterogeneous couplings influence these two collective behaviors. We will show that in the case of homogeneous coupling, the free running period increases monotonically while the entrainment range decreases monotonically with the increase of the coupling strength. While in the case of heterogenous coupling, the dispersion of the coupling strength plays a crucial role. It has been found that the free running period decreases with the increase of the dispersion while the entrainment ability is enhanced by the dispersion. These findings provide new insights into the mechanism of the circadian clock in the SCN.
文摘The Ti-doped waveguide-type periodically poled LiNbO3 (PPLN) were fabricated and the dependence of domain wall velocity on an external field applied for domain inversion was investigated. The whole polarization reversal process was computer-controlled to regulate domain wall expansion at a feedback time shorter than 5 μs. The coercive voltage and several values of excess voltage were applied on 500 μm-thick wafers serially connected to a 1-MOhm external resistor which had an effect of the poling current reduction, i.e. the deceleration of domain wall expansion. The domain wall velocity is sensitive to the poling voltage, precisely speaking, to the excess voltage. The domain wall velocities were 28.70, 16.02 and 5.75 μm·s-1 under poling field of 23.5, 22.0 and 21.0 kV·mm-1, respectively. Moreover, average duty cycle of PPLN is about 49.93%.

文摘A one-dimensional hybrid model was developed to study the electrical asymmetry effect(EAE) caused by the fourthorder harmonic in a dual-frequency capacitively coupled Ar plasma.The self-bias voltage caused by the fourth-order frequency changes periodically with the phase angle,and the cycle of self-bias with the phase angle is π/2,which is half of that in the second-order case.The influence of the phase angle between the fundamental and its fourth-order frequency on the ion density profiles and the ion energy distributions(IEDs) were studied.Both the ion density profile and the IEDs can be controlled by the phase angle,which provides a convenient way to adjust the sheath characters without changing the main discharge parameters.
