The Kehdolan area is located at 20 kilometers to the?south-east of Dozdozan Town (Eastern Azarbaijan Province). According to structural geology, volconic rocks are situated in Alborz-Azarbyjan zone, and faults?are?observed?in?the?same direction to this system with SE-NW trend. The results show that kaolinite alteration trend with Argilic and propylitic veins?is the?same direction with SW-NE faults in this area. Therefore, these faults with these trends can be considered as the mineralization control for determination of the alterations. Different image processing techniques,?such as false color composite?(FCC), band ratios, color ratio composite?(CRC), principal component?analysis?(PCA), Crosta technique, supervised spectral angle mapping?(SAM), are used for?identification of the alteration zones associated with copper mineralization. In this project ASTER?data are process and spectral analysis to fit for recognizing intensity and kind of argillic, propylitic,?philic, and ETM+ data?which?are process and to fit for iron oxide and relation to metal mineralization of the area. For recognizing different alterations of the study area, some chemical and mineralogical analysis data from the samples showed that ASTER data and ETM+ data were?capable of hydrothermal alteration mapping with copper mineralization.?Copper mineralization in the region is in agreement with argillic alteration. In order to apply Satellite Remote Sensing (RS) to mining areas, some key issues should be solved. Based on an introduction to relative studying background, related key issues are proposed and analyzed oriented to the development of RS information science and demands of mining areas. Band selection and combination optimization of Landsat TM is discussed firstly, and it proved that the combination of Band 3, Band 4 and Band 5 has the largest information amount in all three-band combination schemes by both N-dimensional entropy method and Genetic Algorithm (GA). After that the filtering of Radarsat image is discussed. Different filtering methods are experimented and compared, and adaptive methods are more efficient than others. Finally the classification of satellite RS image is studied, and some new methods including classification by improved BPNN(Back Propagation Neural Network) and classification based on GIS and knowledge are proposed. 展开更多

Glass system (80% B2O3 – (20 – y)% Na2CO3 – y% CdO, where y = 3, 6, 9, 12 and 15 mol%) prepared by meltquenching technique and checked by XRD technique reveals the amorphous nature of these glasses. Increases in density from 2.18 to 2.82 (g/cm3) were observed with an increase in CdO content. Ultraviolet-Visible (UV-VIS) absorption spectra of polished parallel surfaces glass samples showed a decrease in the optical band gap from 3.72 to 3.59 eV with increasing CdO content. The results suggest that CdO content in glass samples plays a role as a network modifier. In addition, a correlation between the results from density, UV-VIS and FTIR measurements indicates that change in the atomic structure is due to the formation of BO4 units. 展开更多

This article is the final part of the investigation of conduction mechanism of silicate glass doped by oxide compounds of ruthenium (thick film resistors). In the first part [1], the formation of percolation levels due to diffusion of dopant atoms into the glass has been considered. The diffusion mechanism allowed us to explain shifting of the percolation threshold towards to lower value and the effect of firing conditions as well as the components composition on the electrical conduction of the doped glass. The coexistence of thermal activation and localization of free charge carriers as the result of nanocrystalline structure of the glass was the subject of the second part [2]. Because of it, the resistivity of the doped silicate glass is proportional to exp (–aT–ζ) at low temperatures (T 50 K), 0.4 ζ < 0.8. Structural transitions of nanocrystals take place at high temperatures (T > 800 K) and the conductivity of the doped silicate glass decreases sharply. We consider the origin of the minimum in the temperature dependence of resistivity of the doped silicate glass here. It is shown that the minimum arises from merge of impurity band into the valence band of glass at temperature high enough, so thermal activation of charge carriers as well as its hopping are failed, and scattering of free charge carriers become predominant factor in the temperature dependence of the resistivity. 展开更多

Silver doped sodium borate glasses prepared by melt-quenching technique were checked by XRD technique for their amorphous nature. It is observed that the molar volume increases with increasing Ag2O content leading to open struc- ture. Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) reveals the formation of BO3 and BO4 groups upon addition of silver oxide as modifier. From the Ultraviolet-Visible (UV-VIS) absorption spectra it is seen that the optical band gap increases with the increase of Ag2O content. Urbach energy is observed between 0.55 - 0.77 eV. The results obtained from molar volume, Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy and band gap energy measurements are in agreement with each other and nearly give the similar information about the studied glasses. 展开更多

Geochemical Characteristics of Wuyang Siliceous Rocks in the Southern Margin of North China Craton and its Constraint on the Formation Environment of BIF of Tieshanmiao Formation 被引量:2

Precambrian banded iron formation(BIF)is one of the most important mineral resources in China,mostly abundant in the North China Craton(NCC)with relatively less common in South China.Since the BIF and siliceous rocks both originated from chemical deposition,the syngenetic BIF and Siliceous rocks can help evaluate their environment of formation.We examine here the mineralogy and geochemistry of siliceous rocks associated with the Tieshanmiao Formation BIF,aiming to decipher the conditions of formation of both BIF and Siliceous rocks in the Wuyang area in the NCC.Analysis of the geochemical characteristics of whole rock shows that the Si O2 content of the siliceous rock ranges from 90.11%to 94.85%and is relatively high overall.Trace element contents of Ba and U are also high,the Ba/Sr ratio ranges from 3.89 to 25.28 and the U/Th ratio ranges from 0.09 to 0.20.Finally,theΣREE value of rare earth elements ranges from 57.03 ppm to 152.59 ppm,and these indexes all indicate that siliceous rock resulted from hydrothermal deposition.Plots of Al2 O3-Si O2,Si O2/(K2 O+Na2 O)-Mn O2/Ti O2 and Mn-10×(Cu+Co+Ni)-Fe in discrimination diagrams also verify this interpretation.However,both the Mg O content,ranging from 0.16 to 0.32,and the Fe/Ti ratio,ranging from 2.50 to 9.72,suggest that terrigenous material was added during the depositional process.Major and trace element parameters of siliceous rock,such as the Al/(A1+Fe+Mn)ratio(from 0.81 to 0.93),Mn O/Ti O2(from 0.00 to 0.17),Al/(Al+Fe)(from 0.82 to 0.93),Sc/Th ratio(from 0.21 to 0.50),U/Th(from 0.09 to 0.20),(La/Yb)N(from 0.83 to 3.04),and the(La/Ce)N(from 0.01 to 0.02)all imply that the siliceous rock formed in a continental margin.In addition,the Sr/Ba ratio from 0.08 to 0.26,theδCe value from 0.31 to 0.90,and theδEu value from 0.14 to 0.58,all indicate that the siliceous rock was formed at a relatively deeper water depth and under weak hydrodynamic conditions.Siliceous rock and BIF formed in the same geological setting,with the Si O2/(K2 O+Na2 O)ratio of siliceous rock ranging from 28.61 to 47.43,the Si O2/Al2 O3 ratio from 16.53 to 32.37,and the Si O2/Mg O ratio from 287.28 to 592.81,which are all in agreement with chemical deposition associated with volcanic eruptions.The Al2 O3/Ti O2 ratio from 37.82 to 50.30 indicates that the magma source of siliceous rock was of slightly intermediate composition.During the Late Archean in the Wuyang area,the high concentration and high purity Si O2 quickly precipitated from hydrothermal fluids to finally result in the accumulation of siliceous rock in a marginal sea,while the input corresponding to iron formation components was deposited to form iron formation layers,and limestone was only the product formed during the deposition intervals of siliceous rock and iron formations.In this study,the synsedimentary siliceous rocks of BIF act as a new way to provide direct evidence to understand the formation environment of BIF due to its high geochemical stability. 展开更多

Optimization of Shanghai Marine Environmental Monitoring Sites in the Identification of Boundaries of Different Water Quality Grades

Water quality is critical to ensure that marine resources and the environment are utilized in a sustainable manner. The objective of this study is therefore to investigate the optimum placement of marine environmental monitoring sites to monitor water quality in Shanghai, China. To improve the mapping or estimation accuracy of the areas with different water quality grades, the monitoring sites were fixed in transition bands between areas of different grades rather than in other positions. Following bidirectional optimization method, first, 18 candidate sites were selected by filtering out specific site categories. Second, three of these were, in turn, eliminated because of the rule defined by the changes in the areas of water quality grades and by the standard deviation of the interpolation errors of dissolved inorganic nitrogen(DIN) and phosphate(PO_4-P). Furthermore, indicator kriging was employed to depict the transition bands between different water quality grades whenever new sampling sites were added. The four optimization projects of the newly added sites reveal that, all optimized sites were distributed in the transition bands of different water grades, and at the same time in the areas where the historical sites were sparsely distributed. New sites were also found in the overlap region of different transition bands. Additional sites were especially required in these regions to discriminate the boundaries of different water quality grades. Using the bidirectional optimization method of the monitoring sites, the boundaries of different water quality grades could be determined with a higher precision. As a result, the interpolation errors of DIN and PO_4-P could theoretically decrease. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Atraumatic restorative treatment(ART)may be appropriate for populations without accessibility and affordability.More data are required regarding the success rate of ART in anterior teeth.AIM To evaluate the clinical performance of restoring class III cavities in anterior teeth of permanent dentition using the ART approach.METHODS A longitudinal interventional field study was carried out at two rural primary health centers,Tumkur district,India.A total of 54 teeth in 39 patients were evaluated for the survival rate of class III restorations in permanent anterior teeth using the ART approach in children and adult populations.Evaluation of ART restoration was carried out using Frencken J criteria,the mean procedure time,patient acceptance and reported pain severity during the ART approach were evaluated using a visual analog scale.Calculation of the cost of ART was also performed.RESULTS The mean time taken to perform the ART procedure was 14.79±5.8 min with the majority of patients reporting only mild pain.At 6 mo follow-up,72.2%remained in a good state,but this reduced to 27%at 12 mo.The cumulative survival rate of the restorations was 94.4%at 6 mo and 80.9%at 12 mo follow-up.Estimation of the direct cost for a single class III restoration was 186.50 INR(2.64 USD).CONCLUSION ART may be a good comprehensive option for basic oral health care for underserved or inaccessible populations,and preventive care for patients. 展开更多

Different thickness of amorphous/nanocrystalline multi-layered structure can be used to modulate the strength and ductility of the composite materials.In this work,molecular dynamics simulations were conducted to study the thickness effect of nanocrystalline layer on mechanical properties and deformation behavior of the Cu64Zr36/Cu multi-layer structure.The stress-strain relationship,local stress,local strain,and deformation mechanism are investigated.The results reveal that the change of thickness of the crystalline layer significantly affects the mechanical properties and deformation behavior.As the strain at the elastic region,the amorphous Cu64Zr36 layer dominates the mechanical behavior,leading the fact that Young’s modulus,first yielding stress,and first yielding strain are close to that of Cu64Zr36 BMG.As the strain at the plastic region,the contribution of the crystalline layer on the mechanical behavior becomes more and more significant with increasing the thickness of the crystalline layer.For the thickness ratio(amorphous/crystalline)of 4,the shear band deformation of amorphous layer dominates the mechanical properties.For the thickness ratio is 1,the glide dislocation of the crystalline layer dominates the stress-strain behavior. 展开更多

In the present manuscript numerical analysis on the ballistic performance of a tungsten particle/metallic glass matrix(WP/MG) composite rod is conducted by integrating with related experimental investigations. In the corresponding finite element method(FEM) simulations a modified coupled thermomechanical constitutive model is employed to describe the mechanical properties of metallic glass(MG)matrix, and geometrical models of the WP/MG composite rod are established based on its inner structure. The deformation and failure characteristics of the rod and target materials are analyzed in detail,and the influences of various factors on the ballistic performance of the WP/MG composite long rod are discussed. Related analysis demonstrates that the penetrating performance of the WP/MG rod is similar to that of the tungsten fiber/metallic glass matrix(WF/MG) composite long rod, i.e., a "self-sharpening" behavior also occurs during the penetration process, and correspondingly its penetrating capability is better than that of the tungsten heavy alloy(WHA) rod. However, the mass erosion manner of the WP/MG rod is different and the erosion is relatively severe, thus its penetrating capability is a little lower compared with that of the WF/MG one. Moreover, the impact velocity and the target strength have significant influences on the ballistic performance of the WP/MG composite rod, whereas the effect of initial nose shape is very little. 展开更多

To investigate the modification effect of the B2O3 component on tellurite glass, a series of glasses with a composition of xB2O3-(80-x)TeO2-10ZnO-10Na20 (x = 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80) and an additional amount of 0.5% Er2Os(in molar) were prepared. The refractive index, the absorption edge of the host, the J-O parameters of Er^3+ , the fluorescent decay time, the bandwidth, and the quantum efficiency for the 4Ⅰ13/2→4Ⅰ15/2 transition were obtained theoretically and experimentally. These results indicated that the introduction of B2O3 modified the performance of the tellurite glass. For example, with increasing content of B2O3, the refractive index of the host decreases from 1.9 to 1.5, the absorption edge of the host shifted toward the blue regime, the intensity parameter Ω6 changed from 1.08 × 10^-20(for the pure tellurite glass) to 1.98 ×10^-20 cm^2(for the pure borate glass), the bandwidth of the 4Ⅰ13/2→4Ⅰ15/2 transition increased, and the quantum efficiency of the 4Ⅰ13/2→4Ⅰ15/2 transition decreased. 展开更多

The tungsten particles reinforced Zr41.2Ti13.8Cu12.5Ni10Be22.5 (Vit 1 alloy) bulk metallic glass composites (BMGCs) were prepared by the melt infiltrating casting method with the infiltrating time of 1, 5 and 10 min, respectively. The changes of interfacial reaction and compression properties of the bulk metallic glass composites with different infiltrating times were studied. Results show that with the increase of infiltrating time, tiny nanocrystals are generated at the interfacial boundary of tungsten particles and the amorphous matrix, and the size of tiny crystals increases with the infiltrating time. When the infiltrating time is 10 min, polygonal crystals with a larger size are also generated within the amorphous matrix. The compressive strength of the composites also increases with the infiltrating time. When the infiltrating time is 10 min, the compressive strength of the composite reaches 2,030 MPa and the compression strain is 44%. The fracture morphology of the composite materials is in a vein-like pattern and the melting phenomenon is found on the fracture surface. In addition, the density of the shear bands during the compressive tests of the composite materials increases with the infiltrating time. 展开更多

The deformation behavior was investigated by nanoindentation tests and compressing tests. The average hardness and elastic modulus of the as-prepared Fe40Ni40P14B6 BMG (bulk metallic glass) measured by nanoindentation tests are 8.347 and 176.61 GPa respectively. The displace- ment-load curve shows “pop-in” characteristics which correspond to the loading rate bursts. Many shear bands around the indent were observed. A Series of niobate silicate glasses doped with Eu 3+ ions were prepared. The emission, phonon side band spectra, fluorescence line narrowing spectroscopy and fluorescence lifetimes in these glasses were studied. The intensity parameters and crystal field parameter of Eu 3+ were obtained. The results indicate that the intensity ratio of the electric dipole to magnetic dipole transition and the intensity parameter Ω 2 increase with the increasing concentration of Nb 2O 5, indicating that the symmetry becomes lower, the Eu O bonds become stronger and the covalency of Eu O bond increases. The value of B 20 decreases with the increasing concentration of Nb 2O 5, indicating that the distance between the Eu 3+ ion and oxygen decreases and the Eu O bond becomes strong, corresponding to the results of the former. As the concentration of Nb 2O 5 increases, the electron phonon coupling becomes stronger, thus the nonradiative transition rate of 5D 0 becomes larger and the lifetime of 5D 0 becomes shorter. 展开更多

High speed impact experiments of rectangular plate-shaped Zr 41 Ti 14 Cu 12.5 Ni 10 Be 22.5 bulk metallic glass(BMG) were performed using a two-stage light gas gun.Under spherical shock waves with impact velocities ranging from 0.503 km/s to 4.917 km/s,obvious traces of laminated spallation at the back(free) surface and melting(liquid droplets) at the impact point were observed.The angles about 0掳,17掳,36掳,and 90掳to the shocking direction were shown in the internal samples because of the interaction between the compressive shock waves and the rarefaction waves.The compressive normal stress was found to induce the consequent temperature rise in the core of the shear band. 展开更多

We have investigated the effect of inclusion of two transition metal ions (TMI) on structure and optical properties of borate glass system having composition xMnO2 – yZnO – (100 – x – y) B2O3 (9 ≤ x ≤ 12, 36 ≤y ≤ 48) prepared by melt quenched route. Thermal study by using a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) reveals that the glass transition temperature (Tg) and crystallization temperature (Tc) of the glasses increases with the increase of borate content in the system. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectra indicate that inclusion of TMI produces BO3 and BO4 structural units by breaking the boroxol (B3O6) ring. The optical band gap energy estimated from ultraviolet-visible spectra shows a decreasing tendency when TMI are incorporated in the borate structure. 展开更多

We investigate the fluorescence characteristics of bismuth doped silica fibres with and without A1 co-dopant which are fabricated by means of modified chemical vapour deposition (MCVD) technique, and find that the fluorescences in the red region (centred around 750nm) and in the infrared region (centred around llOOnm) may originate from different emission sites in the fibre. Strong upconversion phenomena are observed in both Al-codoped and non A1 codoped bismuth fibres when the fibres are excited by an acoustic-optic Q-switched Nd:YVO4 laser. Both the aspects indicate that the upper energy level absorption reported in the work of the bismuth doped silica fibre lasers may result from the fluorescence emission sites that are not responsible for the infrared emission. It is thus expected that optimizing the compositions and the fabrication conditions of the fibre and then transferring more fluorescence emission centres are helpful for the infrared emission. 展开更多

The Zr62.55Cu17.55Ni9.9Al10 bulk metallic glass (BMG) was prepared by using copper-mold suction-casting. X-ray diffraction and differential scanning calorimetry were utilized to determine its structure and thermal stability. Uniaxial compression and Rockwell indenta- tion tests were adopted to study the plastic deformation behavior at room temperature. The results show that the glass transition temperature and the onset temperature of exothermic reaction of the BMG are 651.5 and 748 K, respectively. During the compression test, the BMGs undergo an engineering strain of about 2.5%, i.e., true strain of 2.8%, and then fracture. The BMGs deform via the formation and propagation of shear bands. Under indentation loading, the BMGs deform through the formation of radiation-like and circular shear bands. The circular shear bands form earlier than the radiation-like ones, The formation mechanism of shear bands in the BMGs was analyzed and discussed. 展开更多
