Balancing family obligations and personal aspirations is crucial for college students in making life decisions.This critical review examined empirical studies on the effects of filial piety on college students’vocational identity and agency.According to identity capital theory,college students need a sense of agency to construct identity consciously and adapt to adulthood.Filial piety may profoundly influence this process as the core value and internalized social structure for the role of being an adult child in a Chinese family.However,no studies have been conducted from the identity capital perspective.This review found that filial piety had direct effects on college students'vocational identity and also indirect effects by shaping specific agency competencies.The impact of filial piety on the agency was more likely to occur through providing normative guidance about adult roles,influencing how college students view family as a supportive resource,and perpetuating parenting experiences.Based on these findings,this article suggested further examining the mediating role of agency between filial piety and identity development,as well as the effects of filial piety on the psychological foundation of agency development.This review suggested enhancing the agency of college students and encouraging reflections on filial piety in career education. 展开更多

A group training was conducted on 17 college students to improve their career decision-making self-efficacy (CDMSE). The result showed that there was significant difference between the pre-test and the post-test for the experimental group (n = 17), whereas no significant difference was found between the pre-test and the post- test for the control group (n = 17). In the pre-test, there was no significant difference between the experimental group and the control group, and obvious difference between the two groups was found in the post-test. This indicated that the group training was effective on improving the CDMSE of the college students whose scores of CDMSE were below 27% point of the total students. 展开更多

Guidance programs have significant roles in preparing students for the future.The study recognizes that guidance and counseling programs are a transformative process of helping students strengthen their career planning,education,and preparation for employment.The guidance programs of first-year college students from Guangdong Peizheng College(GPC)in Guangdong Province,China was investigated,with 357 freshman students currently enrolled in the participating school involved in this study.Moreover,12 guidance counselors were interviewed through focused-group discussions,including the school director,for the qualitative component of the study.Utilizing the convergent parallel design mixed method,the study was able to elucidate the quantitative and qualitative relevance of the data gathered from the selected participants.The emerging results found that Chinese freshman students were satisfied with all of the parameters of the guidance programs of the school.The school counselors are able to provide students with a rich reservoir of academic cand guidance support,career mentoring,and career guidance.There were contributing factors that need to be addressed if improvement and innovation of the guidance program is the primary goal.Support and resources should be prioritized in order to enrich the development not only of the students but also of the guidance counselors.The study serves as empirical evidence for proposing an improved school-based guidance program as practical outputs of the study further to innovate the effectiveness of the implementation of guidance services. 展开更多

Purpose:This article aims to(1)systematically examine the development of career guidance practices in Hong Kong over the past 40 years,(2)discuss developmental attention to the careerrelated self-concept of diverse learners,and(3)propose a multidimensional model of self-concept by integrating the career-related domains with recent advances in self-concept research pertaining to students’in-school and post-school outcomes.Design/Approach/Methods:This article charts the developmental trend of career guidance and counseling(CGC)over more than 40 years in Hong Kong.The article also examines key findings relating to self-concept research made in the fields of education and career counseling in the past 50 years.Findings:For 50 years,Hong Kong has progressively recognized the importance of CGC.The government’s continued determination to refine its policies and practices in this domain was succinctly highlighted in the Chief Executive’s 2018 policy address.However,many challenges pertaining the professional competence of career guidance teachers and the ability of school administrators to manage the paradigm shift from informal to formal career guidance and counseling practices(CGCPs)remain.Meanwhile,the effects of these CGCPs on students’gains of career-related abilities and interests directly and indirectly remain under-researched.Originality/Value:This article integrates research into the developmental trend of career guidance practices in secondary schools and the study of academic self-concept.The article builds upon previous self-concept research by proposing an extended self-concept model that includes the career-related domain,setting a theoretical model for further research to explore.Finally,the article demonstrates the importance of tailoring career guidance activities in secondary education to reflect the diverse career-related self-concepts held by today’s students with diverse abilities. 展开更多

目的探讨萨提亚模式团体辅导对大学生自杀意念的干预效果,为大学生自杀行为的防控提供依据。方法采用随机整群抽样方法选取某高校大二年级的20个班的学生作为调查对象,随机分为干预组和对照组,每组10个班,干预组采用萨提亚模式团体辅导... 目的探讨萨提亚模式团体辅导对大学生自杀意念的干预效果,为大学生自杀行为的防控提供依据。方法采用随机整群抽样方法选取某高校大二年级的20个班的学生作为调查对象,随机分为干预组和对照组,每组10个班,干预组采用萨提亚模式团体辅导进行干预,对照组不采取任何干预。随访干预3个月,对2组大学生的自杀意念、生命意义及自我和谐进行比较分析。结果干预后,干预组的自杀意念检出率(6.13%)低于对照组(10.31%)及干预前(11.74%)(P<0.05);干预组对自杀行为的态度、对自杀者的态度、对自杀者家属的态度和对安乐死的态度得分分别为(2.98±0.56)分、(2.81±0.45)分、(2.97±0.36)分和(2.95±0.61)分,均高于对照组及干预前自身得分(P<0.05);干预组生命意义得分和寻求意义得分分别为(25.15±3.12)分和(26.82±3.63)分,均高于对照组得分(P<0.05);干预组自我与经验的不和谐、自我的灵活性和自我的刻板性得分分别为(45.32±8.21)、(47.81±8.27)和(16.03±3.92)分,与对照组相比差异均有统计学意义(P<0.05)。结论萨提亚模式团体辅导对大学生自杀意念有着积极的干预作用,值得在高校推广。 展开更多

家庭经济困难医学生一般自我效能感对就业能力的影响机制 被引量:1

目的探讨医学类高校家庭经济困难大学生的一般自我效能感与就业能力的关系及成就动机与职业抱负的中介作用。方法2023年3—5月,采用就业能力量表、一般自我效能感量表、成就动机量表、职业抱负量表对包头医学院、内蒙古医科大学、内蒙... 目的探讨医学类高校家庭经济困难大学生的一般自我效能感与就业能力的关系及成就动机与职业抱负的中介作用。方法2023年3—5月,采用就业能力量表、一般自我效能感量表、成就动机量表、职业抱负量表对包头医学院、内蒙古医科大学、内蒙古民族大学、赤峰学院、包头职业技术学院5所医学类高校643名参与者[75%(482名)女性,25%(161名)男性)]进行问卷星调研。结果学生干部的职业抱负[(3.92±0.36)分]、一般自我效能感[(2.59±0.56)分]、成就动机[(10.22±0.86)分]分别高于普通学生[(3.68±0.77)分vs.(2.36±0.52)分vs.(10.01±0.65)分],差异有统计学意义(P<0.05),男性就业能力得分高于女性,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。护理学、临床医学的成就动机差异也有统计学意义(P<0.05)。一般自我效能感、成就动机、职业抱负和就业能力之间存在显著的正相关关系。职业抱负在一般自我效能感和就业能力之间存在显著的中介效应(0.073,占总效应的13.92%),一般自我效能感通过成就动机和职业抱负的中介作用影响就业能力。结论本文表明可以从积极培养家庭经济困难大学生的一般自我效能感进而激发学生的成就动机着手,同时为求职建立明确的行动目标,提高了学生的职业抱负,从而提高就业能力。本研究所提出的就业能力影响机制为高校有效开展职业指导工作提供了参考途径。 展开更多
