Empirical Examination of the Effects of Competition and Regulation on Public Universities and Colleges＇ Performance in China

Competition and regulation are indispensable entities for a university＇s improved performance. Using university rating as an index to performance, empirical analyses with the data from 145 public universities and colleges in China show that increased competition in the education service market is associated with higher university＇s （college＇s） performance. And increased competition in R＆D may make a quadratic effect on university＇s （college＇s） performance. University＇s performance improves when a university is directed as a branch of the central government because they enjoy some degree of management flexibility more than the local government controlled ones. A major implication of the study is the need to reform competition and regulation for improving universities and colleges＇ operating performance in China.

Media Effect of Students’ Ideological and Political Work in Tibetan Agricultural Colleges and Universities

Both the students’ ideological and political work and the media work in agricultural colleges and universities are priorities of agricultural higher education in Tibet. The economic and social development situation in Tibet,especially the modern agricultural development trend in Tibet,provides excellent development opportunities and challenges for both the students’ ideological and political work and the media work in Tibetan agricultural colleges and universities. On the whole,the students’ ideological and political work and the media work should not be treated with discrimination. Instead,they should be effectively integrated and coordinated,to form joint efforts,so as to create a bright spring for agricultural higher education of Tibet.

The Emergence of Modern Physics Research in China:The Yenching Department of Physics and the Rockefeller Foundation

Based on archival materials discovered in America,Britain,and China,this paper carefully examines the history of the short-lived and completely overlooked Department of Physics in the Premedical School of Peking Union Medical College(PUMC),and uncovers this department’s extensive interconnections with its counterpart at Yenching University.This project also looks into the Master of Science(MS)program in the Department of Physics at Yenching University,which,founded in 1927,was the first graduate program in physics in China.It was this MS program that transformed the Yenching Department from a largely premedical training center serving the PUMC into a prominent cradle of Chinese physics research.This Yenching Department,despite its small faculty and brief existence,nurtured many eminent Chinese physicists,such as Chao-Ying Meng孟昭英,Wen-Yu Chang张文裕,Ming-Chen Wang王明贞,Chia-Liu Luke Yuan袁家骝,Cheng-Shu Wang(Chang)王承书,Ho-Fu Lu卢鹤绂,Ting-Sui Ke葛庭燧,Kun Huang黄昆,and Chia-Lin Hsieh谢家麟.It would have been impossible to achieve these outstanding accomplishments without the effective leadership and pioneering work of C.H.Corbett,P.A.Anderson,Y.M.Hsieh,and W.Band—the first four Department Chairs—in combination with relatively abundant private funding,mostly from America,and extensive educational connections with Western institutions.This paper not only introduces in detail these four department heads and their contributions,but also discloses the unique role played by the Rockefeller Foundation via the China Medical Board and the PUMC in the development of the Yenching Department of Physics.

Survey and Thought on Graduates' Repayment Awareness of Student Loan in Agricultural Universities and Colleges

To find out graduates' repayment awareness of student loan,we conducted a questionnaire survey for those graduates who applied for student loan in Zhongkai University of Agriculture and Engineering.The survey has following results.First,the national student loan plays an important role in assisting poor students in finishing their study.Second,graduates value social function of personal credit.Third,trustworthiness education activities carried out by colleges and universities are effective.Fourth,economic income is a major factor of graduates repaying capital with interest.Fifth,bank's student loan management system is not perfect.Sixth,the national student loan system remains to be improved.In line with these results,we put forward five countermeasures and suggestions:strengthen the trustworthiness education of students;standardize the credit investigation management of students' personal credit;establish student information management mechanism;standardize banks' payment reminder administration behavior;and perfect national student loan system.

Development and construction of China's higher education libraries

Libraries in China's higher education institutions have been developing in keeping pace with the flourishing development of China's higher education. This article aims to make an introduction to the construction of China's higher education libraries, especially the recent three decades' achievements since China's reform and opening-up in 1978. In this article, the authors draw a general picture of the development of libraries in China's higher education institutions, covering such eight aspects as management, types and positioning,organizational structure and personnel, expenditure and buildings, reader service, building and sharing of resources as well as automation system.

nSrDNA Appraisal of High Yield Flocculant Compound Bacteria and Their Application Effect

High effect flocculant compound bacteria were screened out with the product bacteria of flocculant in soil. Their system appraising study shows that two were actionomyces and the other was microzyme among the three bacteria. According to nSrDNA, the three bacteria were marked at a molecule level and the system growth tree was established, ensuring the position of compound bacteria at the molecule level. The purificant which was made of the compound bacteria has spreading value because of its excellent clearing effect for organic and inorganic polluted water.

基于Windows 98摇臂雕刻机数控系统的开发

摇臂雕刻机是通过转角实现直线运动,具有工作空间大,运动灵活但控制难等特点,本文介绍摇臂数控雕刻机机械设计结构特点,给出了具体的转角反求计算公式及其插补算法,并结合摇臂特点采用交流伺服驱动开发出一套相应的基于Windows98高性能数控系统软件。经过实际使用,取得良好效果。

以能力培养为导向的Android程序开发课程教学改革探索

随着高等院校本科教学评估工作的不断推进,及社会对复合型人才能力要求的不断提高,以能力为导向的课程教学改革成为高质量人才培养的关键。本文结合作者在华南农业大学任教的经历,从课程教学现状分析、课程能力实现矩阵构建和课程教学改革措施探索三个角度出发,对以能力培养为导向的Android程序开发课程教学改革措施进行了初步探索。

PTEN、NF-κBp65和CyclinD1在胃腺癌中的表达及其与肿瘤临床病理间的相关性

背景与目的:探讨PTEN、NF-κBp65和CyclinD1在胃腺癌组织中的表达及其与肿瘤临床病理特征之间的相关性。材料与方法:用免疫组织化学S-P法检测73例胃腺癌及20例正常胃粘膜组织中PTEN、NF-κBp65和CyclinD1的表达情况。结果:①PTEN在胃腺癌组织中蛋白表达阳性率为42.5%(31/73),明显低于它在正常胃粘膜组织中的阳性表达率90%(18/20)(P<0.01);NF-κBp65和CyclinD1在胃腺癌组织中蛋白表达阳性率分别为58.9%(43/73)和60.3%(44/73),明显高于它们在正常胃粘膜组织中的阳性表达率20%(4/20)和25%(5/20)(P<0.01);②PTEN与胃腺癌组织分化程度呈正相关(P<0.01),与胃腺癌浸润深度、淋巴结转移及临床分期呈负相关(P<0.01或P<0.05);NF-κBp65与胃腺癌组织分化程度呈负相关(P<0.05),与胃腺癌浸润深度、淋巴结转移及临床分期呈正相关(P<0.05或P<0.01);CyclinD1与胃腺癌的浸润深度相关(P<0.05),与组织分化程度、淋巴结转移及临床分期无相关关系;③胃腺癌中PTEN的阳性表达率与NF-κBp65和CyclinD1均呈负相关(P<0.05,P<0.01),NF-κBp65与CyclinD1的阳性表达率呈正相关(P<0.05)。结论:PTEN、NF-κBp65和CyclinD1基因在胃腺癌的发生、发展中起着不同的作用;联合检测PTEN、NF-κBp65和CyclinD1,可能有助于对胃腺癌恶性程度的判定及侵袭转移能力的评估,进而为胃腺癌的预后分析和进一步治疗提供依据。

2007-2016年SinoMed收录五所中医药大学科技论文的计量学研究

目的分析中国生物医学文献服务系统(Sino Med数据库)收录的5所中医药大学发表的科技论文,了解我国中医药院校发展现状、研究趋势和存在问题。方法以Sino Med数据库为统计源,检索时间范围为2007-2016年,对作者单位为北京中医药大学、上海中医药大学、广州中医药大学、南京中医药大学和成都中医药大学的论文计量分析。通过Python(3.5)软件,去除第一作者不是5所中医药大学的论文,确定纳入分析标准。利用R(3.3.2)软件,对论文数量、期刊分布、受资助情况和关键词进行统计分析。利用Excel 2010对第一作者论文数量、受资助论文占比和受国家级资助占比绘制年度趋势变化折线图,利用R(3.3.2)软件wordcloud,对关键词词频予以可视化,绘制词云图。结果 5所中医药大学SinoMed收录论文数量逐年增长,发表论文的期刊以本地区和本学校学报为主。论文受资助比例逐年增加,但是受到国家级资助的比例明显低于受资助论文比例。研究领域:中药学以中药化学和中药药理学研究为主,中医学以疾病综述、经典方剂疗效和中医药疗法临床应用总结为主。结论中医药论文对于我国中医药院校建设发展起到了积极的推动作用,但是论文质量有待加强,国家级课题资助的论文产出有待提高。中医方面需要加强校际国际间合作,中药方面需要在中医理念中发展。

Encouraging Reading Habit among Chinese University Students

University and college curriculum in China is increasing placing more emphasis on producing and developing graduates with comprehensive qualities in recent years.One of the main factors that affects the development of high quality college graduate is the students’active reading habit.However,recent statistics on Chinese college students have shown that the number of students who read habitually is not ideal nor encouraging.Campaigns launched to promote reading habits in the university have only minimal effects on the students.In this work,some of the problems faced in promoting reading habit among college students in China and the potential solution for solving these problems are discussed.It is hoped that the content in this article would provide some insights for college administrators to encourage reading habits among college students.

健康中国背景下高校公共体育课程体医融合实践研究

新疆高校农科专业留学生培养质量保障体系研究

近年来在“一带一路”倡议背景下,沿线中亚、东南亚及非洲国家来新疆的留学生日益增多,新疆高校留学研究生的培养质量面临前所未有的机遇和挑战。据此,石河子大学农学院以植保专业为例,对农科来华留学生具体情况进行分析,探索适合留学生特点的培养方案,从优质生源的筛选、留学生课程体系的优化、实践培养环节强化、师资队伍建设、教学资源和管理机制建设等方面进行研究,并结合该学科地域优势和特色,依托科技部示范性国际科技合作基地,开展校企合作联合办学模式和建立农科专业留学生实训基地等多方面探索,力求保障国际化人才的培养质量。研究目标是建立一套完整的适合新疆高校留学生培养质量的保障体系,培养一批高素质的应用型、复合型国际人才,有效服务于国家“一带一路”倡议,也为石河子大学和其他西部高校开展留学生的培养模式研究与实践提供现实依据。
