A Study on Financial Cooperation by NGOs under the Belt and Road Initiative——Taken Asian Financial Cooperation Association(AFCA) as an Example

Non-governmental organizations(NGOs), represented by the Institute of International Finance(IIF), are an important means of international financial cooperation. Asian Financial Cooperation Association(AFCA), with its nature and positioning similar to the IIF, is a newly founded international NGO under the Belt and Road Initiative(BRI). Therefore, AFCA can draw upon the existing experience of the IIF. Under the BRI, according to the Articles of AFCA, the non-governmental financial cooperation adopted by the IIF includes these three aspects; coordinating regional financing, developing regional financial markets, and maintaining regional financial stability. Further, since AFCA is non-governmental, it faces certain risks and challenges. In future, the new financial cooperation backed by AFCA needs to evolve and improve over time to better support the Belt and Road construction.

Faced with unprecedented changes in the world,China has chosen to continue expanding its opening-up and actively cooperate with other countries.Internationalization of education is one of the important directions for the future development of universities.Since the reform and opening-up,a series of Sino-foreign cooperative education policies have been successively released,forming a relatively systematic and complete policy system.Under the promotion of policies,Chinese universities actively engage in Sino-foreign cooperative education,with increasingly frequent educational exchanges and a clear trend towards internationalization.The scale of Sino-foreign cooperative education is also constantly expanding.It is worthy to explore how to draw on advanced teaching experience from overseas,continue to promote Sino-foreign cooperative education,and improve the quality of Sino-foreign cooperative education.

Factors Associated with Overweight and Obesity in the Schools of Parakou in 2017

Introduction: The dietary changes and the new lifestyles which occurred in low-income countries like Benin resulted in a nutritional transition with its burden of overweight and obesity among the child and adolescent population who is still suffering from undernutrition. This study aimed to identify the factors associated with overweight and obesity in the schools of Parakou in 2017. Patients and Methods: This research work is a cross-sectional descriptive and analytic study carried out from May to June 2017 in the state-owned and private high/secondary schools of Parakou. It focused on a representative sample of 730 high school students randomly selected according to the WHO two-stage cluster sampling technique. The weight and size of each of the students included in the study were measured;and then their body mass index (BMI) was calculated. The data related to respondents’ dietary pattern and lifestyle were collected. Those data were processed using the software Epi Info version 7.2.1. The prevalence ratio (PR) was used to measure associations with their confidence interval and the difference was considered significant when p < 05. Findings: In total, 730 students were involved in the study, including 377 male i.e. a ratio of 1.1. Prevalence of overweight/obesity was estimated at 16.2% including 12.5% of overweight and 3.7% of obesity. The factors associated with overweight and obesity were female sex, excessive intake of sugar-sweetened beverages and drinks, low level of physical activity and family history of obesity. Conclusion: A behavior change regarding the different contributing factors is necessary to reverse the trends in overweight and obesity prevalence in the high/secondary schools in the District of Parakou.

The Tamale Local Boy Scouts Association in the Northern Territories Protectorate in the 1920s

In 1907,military leader Robert Baden-Powell started the Boy Scouts Association in England as the British colonial government officers instituted Tamale village as the administrative centre of the Northern Territories Protectorate.Sam Yarney worked with Frank Collyer the European bank cashier and scoutmaster who started the Boy Scouts in the Gold Coast Colony in 1914,the year the First World War started.In 1922,Governor Gordon Guggisberg,who was brigadier general during the war was the chief scout.He reorganized the Local Boy Scouts Association in the Tamale Government School that received select boys from various schools in the Northern Territories Protectorate.The schoolboys excelled in the Standard VII and Civil Service Examinations to work with the government institutions and train as teachers and telegraphists.Arthur James Philbrick the chief scout commissioner of the Northern Territories employed Yarney as the assistant scout commissioner in the Southern Province to take on the staff of the reorganized Tamale Local Boy Scouts Association and register the 1st Tamale Troop.The scout officers subscribed to a Scout Fund to buy kit,for the schoolboys who passed the Tenderfoot Tests to buy uniforms and perform at events.

Belt and Road Initiative and Possible Impacts on the SouthChina Sea Issue

Since China proposed the Belt and Road Initiative （BRI） in late 2013, the impacts of the 21st century Maritime Silk Road （MSR） construction on the South China Sea （SCS） issue become a focal point of both academic research and public concern. There are plenty of divergent opinions on whether the MSR will mean an opportunity for settling the SCS issue, or it will face the challenge of intensified maritime conflicts in this region. This paper first of all analyzes the significance of the BRI in the general picture of China＇s foreign policy. To ensure neighborhood diplomacy be in line with the BRI, China adjusts its SCS policy through rebuilding and consolidating political mutual trust with countries which have been involved into conflicts with China on the SCS issue; meanwhile, China promotes pragmatic cooperation under MSR framework to cultivate positive atmosphere and sense of community with a shared destiny. Both MSR construction and the addressing of the SCS issue are long-term issues, while the MSR provides an innovative approach to surpass existing disputes and focus on regional development cooperation. Hence, the MSR could be an opportunity to accelerate the resolving of maritime disputes.

School-Enterprise Cooperation in Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program at UESTC

School of Information and Software Engineering at University of Electronic Science and Technology of China(abbreviated hereafter as "SISE") joined Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program launched by Ministry of Education of China in 2011. This paper discussed nine models of school-enterprise cooperation practiced at SISE since 2011. The school-enterprise cooperation model effectively broadens the students' horizons and improves the students' practical ability and has been recognized by academic circles.

The Significance of Students＇ Personal Narratives in Teacher Training

Recognizing the importance of personal narratives in general and in the field of teacher training in particular this paper first presents a review of research in the field, offers several definitions and theories of analysis, and then provides readers with the personal narratives and the analyses of three fourth-year students in the Department of English at a College for Teacher Training. The goal is to find out, learn, and make use of the voices, attitudes, experiences, visions, successes, failures, hopes, and frustrations of students engaged in teacher education. The conclusion asserts the necessity of adopting a model of training which is based on students＇ personal narratives--one which encourages and strengthens partnership between students cooperating teachers, and academics

The internationalization of higher education has become the true fact. The non-governmental colleges has become the important part of higher education as a new power and abiding by the trend of internationalization of higher education just like the public colleges. Therefore they need to enhance the cultural exchange and cooperation with international universities and orientate their talent training mode in the international competition and even take the charge of flexible operation mechanism to pave the new way for their own characteristics and core competence.

Analysis on the Effectiveness of the Sino-Canada Joint Program of Mechanical Engineering of NJPI

In traditional concept,international cooperation in running schools usually stay at the level of inviting foreign teachers to give lectures in Chinese universities and sending teachers for overseas training.It only could bring breakthrough progress in the effectiveness of teaching,when exchanges and cooperation in-depth to the connotation level of the mutual fusion of teaching ideas,teaching means and teaching aims.Based on the experience of international cooperation in running schools,combined with in-depth interviews on professional teachers,the author summed up proposed changes in the aspects of philosophy of education,teachers,teaching methods and the student literacy.Also,the author summarized the radiation effect achieved from Sinoforeign cooperation in running schools.

Impact of Education on the Quality of Life of Asthmatics:Evaluative Study of 100 Cases in Pneumophtisiology Department of the Fann National University Hospital Center(FNUHC),Senegal

Introduction: Therapeutic patient education is a continuous, integrated, patient-centered process. A study was conducted in the Asthma School in the pneumophtisiology department of Senegal. Overall goal was to determine the influence of therapeutic education on the quality of life of asthmatics. Method: Transverse study, descriptive and evaluative therapeutic education provided in the school of asthma on quality of life for asthma patients. Data were analyzed through IBM SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science) version 20. Results: 100 asthmatic patients were included with a sex ratio of 0.37. The average age of the patients was 36.76 years old. The majority (81.3%) (n = 39) being new participants. The average scores for symptoms, exposure to stimuli, emotions and limiting activities stay higher for adherent patients as well as the score overall quality of life. Conclusion: The school of asthma, associated with the therapeutic management, can improve the control of the disease and the quality of life of the patient.

Drinking Behavior and Associated Factors among Middle School Students in Shanghai,China

The purpose of our study was to assess drinking status in middle school students and to understand the associated factors. The adjusted drinking rates were 50.9%, 39.8%, and 15.1% for lifetime, past-year, and current drinking, respectively.

Prevalence and risks of soil transmitted helminths among Ethiopian school children:A cross-sectional study

Objective:To assess the prevalence and associated factors of soil transmitted helminths(STHs)among Endemata primary school in North West Ethiopia,2021.Methods:A cross-sectional study with 195 school children was conducted from May to July 2021 at Endemata primary school.The study participants were selected by using systematic random sampling technique.Stool samples were processed via direct wet mount and formol-ether concentration techniques.Data was entered by Epi-Dara version 3.1 and data analysis was done using SPSS version 20.0.Variables were considered to be statistically significant if P<0.05 at 95%confidence level.Results:The overall prevalence of STHs was 10.8%(95%CI 7.1-16.0).The prevalence of Ascaris lumbricoides,hookworm and Trichuris trichiura were 5.6%(95%CI 3.1-9.9),3.1%(95%CI 1.3-6.7)and 2.1%(95%CI 0.6-5.3),respectively.Grade 1-4 students were more likely to get infected with STHs as compared to grade 5-8 students(adjusted OR 4.7,95%CI 1.3-16.6).Students who did not have latrines at their home were at higher risk to develop STHs infection comparing with those who had latrine at their home(adjusted OR 5.0,95%CI 1.7-15.2).Similarly,the school children who did not wear shoes were more likely to be infected by STH parasite than those who did it(adjusted OR 6.3,95%CI 1.9-20.7).The odds of being infected by STH parasites in children who did not trim their fingernails were 4.9 as compared to those who did it(adjusted OR 4.9,95%CI 1.5-15.7).Conclusions:The prevalence of STHs among Endemata primary school children was low.Student grade level,latrine availability,shoes wear and nail status were significantly associated with STHs infection.Therefore,we recommend policy makers and stakeholders to follow the integration of deworming with water,hygiene and sanitation as well as the consistent health education of school children to control and prevent STH infections.

Mode Innovation of School-Enterprise Cooperation on Food Safety Testing Laboratory Reform

In view of the difficulties about school-enterprise cooperation on food safety testing laboratory reform,the current training program,teaching methods and teaching forms are not suitable for the new platform.This paper provides new ideas and modes to solve these problems,such as integrating the resource elements between school and enterprise,establishing new platforms with the help of external force and innovating the cooperation modes to improve the laboratory,which can fully serve teaching,scientific research and enterprise production.
