College English Writing Instruction from the Perspective of Text Linguistics

This paper is designed to explore whether the theory of text linguistics,especially the knowledge of cohesion,coherence and cohesive devices could be applied in college English writing teaching to help improve students’writing abilities.Besides,the author puts forward some suggestions for both English teachers and learners.

Teaching Design and Implementation of the Electrical and Electronic Technology Course Based on Teaching Ability Competition

The teaching ability competition is a vital method for stimulating teachers’enthusiasm and enhancing their teaching skills.This approach has gained increasing attention from colleges and universities in recent years.The competition focuses on evaluating teachers’capabilities in designing and implementing lessons,encouraging the exchange of new educational ideas and high-quality teaching methods.Reforming the teaching of Electrical and Electronic Technology courses based on insights from teaching competitions can significantly improve teaching quality.This paper explores the teaching design and implementation of the Electrical and Electronic Technology course,drawing on the principles of teaching ability competitions.First,it analyzes the existing problems in teaching this course.Then,it highlights the significant benefits that teaching competitions bring to the course.Based on these insights,the paper proposes practical strategies aimed at enhancing students’interest and practical skills,thereby promoting innovative developments in teaching Electrical and Electronic Technology.

A Case Study of Incorporating Sheltered Instruction into ESP Courses in China

The study describes the improvements of the participants in ESP course incorporating Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol(SIOP) instruction in China. It aims to investigate whether or not it is effective to incorporate the sheltered instruction into ESP course and whether or not the participants will be motivated to improve their English skills for professional purposes. Quantitative and qualitative data sources were employed, including English language tests, questionnaires, and interviews.Findings reveal that the sheltered instruction was helpful to ESP course and produced significant achievements in participants' English vocabulary and skills. The most interesting result is that the participants' confidence and interest in learning professional English for future jobs has been improved much.

On the Significance of Saussure's Course in General Linguistics

Saussure, the greatest linguist in the 20^(th) century, is the founder of modern linguistics, semiology as well as structuralism linguistics. Moreover, his ideas have have influenced a great number of linguists in the last ninety years. This paper aims to present and comment on some of his ideas in one of this masterworks—Course in General Linguistics. In the end, the author proposes some suggestions for further study.

On Linguistics Course Construction to Foster English Application-oriented Talents in Tibetan Ethnic Colleges: A Case Study of Sichuan Minzu College

Under the social background of application-oriented transformation of local colleges and universities,the construction of linguistics course for English majors in Tibetan ethnic colleges should actively adapt to the requirements of the times,update the teaching concept,take application as orientation,take combination of language theory and language practice as the principle,take interlinguistic study as the basic content and focus on language acquisition and second language teaching of extralinguistic study.In view of the existing problems in this course,the reform should take the following aspects into consideration:redefining the training objectives,finding out the course orientation,revising the teaching contents,improving the teaching methods,enriching the teaching means,reforming the evaluation methods,enhancing the teaching practice,strengthening the construction of the teaching staff and the construction of the course resources,to make the linguistic theoretical courses related to and guide students’language learning practice,to make it close to and be applied in students’daily life,to prepare students to be future teachers or researchers and most importantly to train qualified application-oriented English teachers for ethnic areas in Tibet.

A Discourse Analysis from the Perspective of Textual Metafuction in Functional Linguistics

This essay excerpts an academic lecture on psychology from the listening part of TOEFL. Through respective analyses on the facets of thematic progression patterns and lexical sense relation, some main findings can be drawn. First, his text follows a typical Situation-Problem-Solution-Evaluation pattern. Also, this text applies various lexical sense relations and thematic progression patterns. Eventually, all make each paragraph and the whole text coherent.

An Exploration of the English Reading Instruction Model with a Systemic Functional Linguistic Perspective

Reading is an important channel for students to acquire knowledge and information.Therefore,exploring an effective reading instructional model to improve students’reading ability is one of the main goals of today’s university English teaching.The model of English reading instruction based on the theory of systemic functional linguistics is designed to study how teachers can apply this theory to the teaching of reading in order to improve students’reading comprehension.

International Students’Perspectives on Model English-medium Instruction Practices in China:A Qualitative Study

From 2010,a drastic increase in international students’enrollment in many higher education institutions in China has led to the growth of English-medium instruction(EMI)practices and relevant research.With many state-level and province-level initiatives to promote the design and development of model EMI courses,international students’perspectives of these courses are not adequately reflected in the international literature which is primarily done in European higher education contexts.This study takes a qualitative approach by analyzing international students’EMI courses reflection reports,focus group interviews and observation notes of video-recorded EMI courses to probe into their perspectives on EMI practices in a business institute in a university of Shanghai.The findings show that international students show concerns about the systematic design of the curriculum,pedagogical problems and contextual limitations in EMI practices.All EMI stakeholders like curriculum developers,teaching administrators,teachers and students are responsible for these problems.Therefore,meaningful and consistent communication should be greatly promoted among all EMI practices stakeholders.The article concludes with recommendations for further research on model EMI courses in China.

Building a Web-based EFL Course with Open Source CMS in Vocational Colleges

Aiming to solve the existing problems with the Quality Course,an EFL online course is developed with an Open Source Course Management System(CMS).The principles and strategies of designing and constructing the course are discussed.The process of developing vocational college students'professional and social competence in the web-based environment is ex plored.Research results show the students are satisfied with the web-based EFL course and the teaching.

The Application of Multiple Intelligences Theory in College English Reading Course

This paper,based on Gardner's Multiple Intelligences Theory,aims to investigate whether the application of MI Theory in col lege English reading class can improve students'English reading proficiency.MI-categorized activities are adopted in the class.The paper explores college Enlgish reading teaching strategy based on MI Theory to improve English teaching proficiency.The paper sheds some light on how MI theory could be applied in EFL.

在新医科背景下,分析医学生开设Python编程课程的重要意义。针对在医学生Python教学中存在的挑战,从课程组织、教材选择、课程设计和教学模式等方面,将医学数据管理与Python编程教学深度融合,设计并实践了新的Python课程教学方法。经过4年多的教学研究实践,将Python的代码实现与医学知识相融合,启发学生通过实际医学项目应用他们所学的知识,培养学生的问题解决和数据分析能力。通过设计调查问卷和形成性评价的形式对课程实施效果进行评价,课程在增强学生学习Python编程兴趣和提高Python应用能力方面收到了很好的效果。课程组以高质量教育培育高水平、高素质、高融合医科人才为目标,通过医学信息数据处理案例为中心组织课堂,紧跟人工智能、深度学习等新技术,培养新医科人才,服务于“健康中国”大目标。

教育部通过职业院校技能大赛教学能力比赛,深入推进职业教育转型,深化职业教育教学改革,在数字化、信息化、智能化革新驱动下,职业教育新型设施建设不断完善与发展。数字化技术为职业教育提供了一条新型教育路径,职业教育迎来了新变革时期。随之,职业院校教师迎来教育教学新挑战和机遇。提升教师数字化应用能力,把育人为本教育方针落到实处,是当前及今后一段时期的职业教育重点。基础护理课程是历年参加教学能力大赛高职专业二组的重要课程之一,是职业院校护理专业的专业核心课程之一。通过比赛促使参赛教师深层次认识本课程教学,探索将比赛成果转化导向引领教学。本文以参加全国职业院校技能大赛教学能力大赛为切入点,探讨基础护理课程如何实施数字素养下教学改革,并形成以急救护理项目为例的教学实施报告,为本课程实施教学改革提供思路。

在高等医学院校的临床医学专业中,将思政教育与医学专业知识紧密结合,并实现其在课堂中的全面融合,已成为教育工作者面临的一项重要任务。文章拟通过分析高等医学院校专业课程中融入思政教育的现存问题,结合广州医科大学呼吸系统整合课程思政教育的实践情况以及有效融合,探索课程思政在器官系统整合课程中开展的经验;通过跨学科方式、多元化教学模式、考核评价体系构建等融合课程思政教育与器官系统整合课程,从而切实提高临床专业课程思政教学质量,构建全员、全课、全程的一体化课程思政体系,为医学院校教学模式的改革提供参考。
