With the rapid development of the education industry,higher requirements have been put forward for college English education and teaching,accelerating the pace of college English reform.Issues such as how to integrate knowledge transmission,language expression skill improvement,cultural element extraction,and ideological and political education,and present the role of curriculum education function have attracted attention.In the era of informatization,college students’thinking has undergone certain changes and gradually developed towards diversification.Therefore,universities should start from the perspective of cultural confidence,extract valuable ideological and political elements,and explore effective tourism ideological and political teaching methods.While helping college students enhance their cultural confidence,it is also beneficial for them to better inherit traditional Chinese culture.This article conducts an in-depth exploration of ideological and political education in college English courses from the perspective of“cultural confidence”and uses scientific and effective measures to solve the problems encountered,aiming to provide valuable guidelines for relevant researchers.

Values and Paths of Ideological and Political Education in College English Teaching in Applied Universities

As the state promotes teaching reform with the goal of ideological and political education,the teaching of various disciplines in colleges and universities is facing new challenges and novel research topics.In applied colleges and universities,as a compulsory course of general education,the ideological and political education elements have not been deeply explored,and the function of ideological and political education that should be undertaken by English teaching has not been fully realized.This paper analyzes the value of ideological and political education in college English in applied colleges and universities and discusses the effective path of ideological and political education in college English in applied colleges and universities from the four levels of teachers,teaching materials,teaching methods,and curriculum.

Research on Integrating Moral Education Into College English Course on the Basis of Outcomes-Based Teaching Mode

College English courses are an important part of college education with humanistic and instrumental characteristics.Outcomes-based teaching method is oriented by students’learning output,which has been applied in education for decades.Students achieve the outcomes through communication,cooperation,and exploration from which their initiative,confidence,and learning ability are improved.It is instructive to help student both develop language skills as well as enrich the knowledge of Chinese traditional culture.This paper explores the necessity of moral education and relates them to College English course on the basis of outcomes-based teaching method.It is intended to help teachers understand the theory and philosophy of outcomes-based education and put it into moral education practice in their instructional planning,teaching,and assessment of students.

A Research on the Application of Case Teaching Method in Curriculum-Based Ideological and Political Education in College English Course under the Concept of OBE

Since the idea of“Curriculum-Based Ideological and Political Education”was formally proposed in 2016,it has rapidly become a research hotspot in education reform.Although a large number of relevant studies have focused on the effective paths to curriculum-based ideological and political education in specific courses,there are few studies on how to integrate ideological and political education contents into particular courses under specific educational concepts and by particular teaching methods.Thus,this paper will explore how to improve the teaching effectiveness of curriculumbased ideological and political education in College English course with the OBE concept as the driving force and the case teaching method as the means.Finally,a few thoughts on the application of case teaching method in College English course are offered.

The fundamental purpose of Virtue education for college students is to carry out the education policy of moral education first and cultivate college students＇ correct attitude towards life, work, helping them achieve the happy life. The Practical Study of ESP Theory in Professional Foreign Language Teaching

With the rapid development of economic globalization, foreign language talents who are cultivated by general foreign language teaching should meet the requirements of the international development strategy. Therefore, it is of great importance to promote foreign language teaching quality. In this paper, we discuss how to fully utilize the English for Specific Purposes （ESP） theory to enhance professional foreign language teaching quality. ESP refers to a type of teaching concept or approach as the counterpart of English for General Purposes （EGP）, which contains a vast range of aspects. Particularly, we propose two English course design methods based on the ESP theory, that is, 1） language centered curriculum design, and 2） learning centered curriculum design. Finally, experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can significantly improve teaching quality.

Chinese nursing postgraduates'views on implementing outcome-oriented academic English course:a descriptive study

Background:According to previous studies on professional English course teaching,the evaluation of course teaching was positive,but the vast majorities focus on medical English literature reading,professional English vocabulary,and professional English translation.As an alternative,the course design based on academic learning needs under the outcome-oriented education/model emphasizes the improvement of students'comprehensive ability in oral expression,literature reading,writing,and academic communication.Objectives:The objective of this study was to analyze nursing postgraduates'opinions on learning the outcome-oriented academic English course.Methods:This is a cross-sectional descriptive study.A total of 150 first-year nursing postgraduates enrolled in the“Academic Professional English for Nursing Postgraduates”course.After completing the course learning,students scanned QR codes generated by the online questionnaire and completed it anonymously within 48 h.Results:The students who participated in this course strongly believed that it“helped them strengthen their English speakability”(4.8 points),“made them more confident to participate in international academic conferences and exchanges in the future”(4.8 points),and“helped them apply English more in the nursing professional field in the future”(4.7 points).Conclusions:The implementation of outcome-oriented course teaching helps students to understand the research of foreign scholars and effectively express their own research content with English as a tool.It motivates them to continuously use English for professional and academic communication.

以《新职业综合英语1》第四单元阅读篇章A《旗袍》为例,从分析本校大学英语课程基本信息入手,课前就“工匠精神”融入职业英语教学做初步设计,课中通过阅读任务对学生思想变化实行“动态追踪”,课后通过情景化实践作业将“工匠精神”内化为学生个人品质,从而达到英语应用能力培养与课程思政协同育人的目的。

英语教育硕士课程设置的问题与对策研究

目前,我国的英语教育专业硕士点和招生人数众多,但较少学者对英语教育硕士的培养展开研究,而课程设置是关涉硕士培养质量的最关键因素之一,因此,以“双一流”高校和普通地方性高校的英语教育硕士课程为例,探究课程设置的问题与对策。研究结果显示:英语教育硕士课程设置存在不同层次高校之间的课程资源分布不均衡,教育哲学类、专业选修类和前沿性课程不多等问题。鉴于此,各院校可采取跨校选课或外聘任课教师的措施,并且增设教育哲学类、专业选修类和前沿性课程。
