Systematizing Teacher Development:A Review of Foreign Language Teacher Learning

Foreign language teaching practice is developing rapidly,but research on foreign language teacher learning is currently relatively fragmented and unstructured.The book Foreign Language Teacher Learning,written by Professor Kang Yan from Capital Normal University,published in September 2022,makes a systematic introduction to foreign language teacher learning,which to some extent makes up for this shortcoming.Her book presents the lineage of foreign language teacher learning research at home and abroad,analyzes both theoretical and practical aspects,reviews the cuttingedge research results,and foresees the future development trend,painting a complete research picture for researchers in the field of foreign language teaching and teacher education as well as front-line teachers interested in foreign language teacher learning.This is an important inspiration for conducting foreign language teacher learning research in the future.And this paper makes a review of the book from aspects such as its content,major characteristics,contributions and limitations.

Research on the Evaluation Method of Teaching Quality of Chinese as a Foreign Language Based on Immersion Teaching

With the development of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, the teaching level of teachers of Chinese as a foreign language is constantly improving. Teachers of Chinese as a foreign language are the messengers of Chinese culture and represent the image of China. Therefore, the quality of teaching Chinese as a foreign language teachers plays a vital role in the quality of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. Immersion teaching method is a relatively successful teaching method in the field of foreign bilingual teaching. It opens a new door for teaching Chinese as a foreign language and plays an important role in improving students' ability to use Chinese. This paper comprehensively evaluates the teaching of Chinese as a whole based on immersive teaching, and calculates the data after evaluation of the evaluation index system to ensure the scientific and accurate evaluation results. Finally, it is proposed that the countermeasures should be improved from the three aspects of classroom teaching, the quality of Chinese teachers and the overall quality of the team of Chinese as a foreign language.

Curriculum Innovation in Language Teacher Education:Reflections on the PGDELT Program’s Contributions to EFL Teachers’Continuing Professional Development

Initial teacher preparation and teachers’ continuing professional development are two significant pillars of the teacher education enterprise. The former encompasses a wide range of teachereducation initiatives at the levels of diploma, bachelor’s degree, postgraduate diploma, and even master’s degree for teacher licensure purposes. These are widely documented in the literature.What is important is how teacher professional development contributes to bolstering the teachereducator force, which is relatively insufficiently documented due to the very fact that different educational systems have somewhat different expectations of such programs in relation to the ideologies and theories underpinning the teacher professional development program design and curriculum offering. Taking stock of a postgraduate diploma program in English language teaching(PGDELT) for teachers’ continuing professional development with a 31-year history housed at a premier teacher education institution in Singapore, which has successfully graduated over 1, 000 English language teachers for colleges and universities in China, I intend to highlight some of its key features, as a former student and then a lecturer on the program, in order to draw implications for sustainable growth of language teacher education programs, especially those whose main purposes are to prepare teachers of English as a second or foreign language(ESL/EFL) and provide continuing professional development opportunities for such inservice teachers.

Network Management of Food Additives Quality Analysis and Inspection

In this paper, on the basis of the implementation of the national chemical industry standard analytical test methods and analysis of test items, a food additive quality analysis and inspection of network management applications are developed using the development technology of Visual Basic language and computer system operating environment, to achieve a network management software for users on food additives of quality analytical testing. The software sets up an information sharing network platform for enterprise and quality management departments, which is a major innovation in the food additive quality analysis on test management methods and tools.

A Study of CFL Teacher Competency in the U.S.: An Overview of Professional Guidelines, Resources, and Standards

Chinese as a foreign language (CFL) is a critical language in the United States, and the importance to have competent CFL teachers has been more and more realized. However, the literature does not show sufficient research on CFL teacher competency. To fill the gap, a series of exploratory research studies are initiated. As a part of the initiation, this study overviews the professional guidelines, resources, standards and requirements for CFL education in the U.S. at the national and state levels. The findings will be useful for designing teacher education program and teacher training program. In addition, student teachers, pre-service teachers, and in-service teachers can also use them as great references for their academic and/or professional development.

Enlightenment of the Chinese English Competence Scale on College English Teaching in Applied Colleges and Universities

CSE (China's Standards of English) is China's first English proficiency assessment standard covering all semester. 企业OFDI能促进中国经济高质量发展吗?——基于产能治理视角的实证研究

产能治理是推动我国经济高质量发展的重要途径。笔者先从理论上分析了企业OFDI治理产能过剩的作用机制,然后利用大样本的企业微观数据,结合马氏距离匹配倍差法实证检验了企业OFDI对产能利用率的影响。研究结果表明:中国企业OFDI显著提升了产能利用率,且所得结论在替换被解释变量和滞后性稳健检验后依然成立;分样本比较分析发现企业OFDI对产能利用率的影响因企业类型不同而存在差异性,其中国有、中西部地区、资本密集型及投资于发达国家企业OFDI对产能利用率的提升效应显著大于民营、东部地区、劳动密集型及投资于发展中国家企业。基于此,笔者认为:我国政府应继续鼓励企业OFDI以化解产能过剩,分类做好企业对外投资的合理引导工作,并为企业对外投资提供便利条件,从而在微观上提升企业经营效益,在宏观上推动我国经济高质量发展。

中国OFDI对外贸高质量发展的影响路径研究

外贸高质量发展是现代化经济体系建设的重要内容。本文从外贸规模、外贸结构、外贸竞争力和外贸可持续性4个层面构建了外贸高质量发展的评价指标体系,并采用熵值法对OFDI促进外贸高质量发展的产业路径和技术路径展开理论和实证分析。研究表明:我国OFDI能显著促进外贸高质量发展;产业结构升级和技术进步的中介效应显著存在。为推动我国外贸实现高质量发展,政府应进一步完善相关政策措施,促进企业对外直接投资,不断深化产业转型、技术创新等保障机制改革;企业则应加大对自身技术的研发投入,加大对知识和技术密集型行业的对外投资,并加强企业之间的合作交流。

Taking Stock of Grammar-Translation Teaching Method in Developing Intercultural Pragmatic Competence

Grammar-translation teaching method(GTTM as a shorthand below) has long been a buzzword when it is adopted in the class of English as a foreign language.It has been universally acknowledged that such teaching method contradicts the development of communicative language competence advocated in recent decades.However,I positively argue that GTTM in English class,as a comparative and intercultural model,should be given a due reconsideration to improve L2 learners' pragmatic competence.

Intelligent Management Based on Chemical Reagent Quality Analysis

Access database technology and Visual Basic programming language are used to develop a set of chemical reagents quality analysis and inspection of intelligent management application software, and its stability was investigated. The results show that the sotfware is used to manage intelligently the quality analysis of chemical reagents test each linkage, to upload and save the analysis of test data and results in the network in time for users, to build a network of information sharing platform for enterprises and quality management departments, and its quality of chemical reagents test results is used to manage by the computer with practical application value. The software is simple, convenient, fast, friendly interface, stable operation, accurate and reliable results, with a high value to promote the application.

Revamping School Bilingualism in Francophone Primary Education in Cameroon： Some Strategies to Avoid Another Failure

In order to revamp school bilingualism in FPE （Francophone primary education） in Cameroon some changes were brought about after the release of a new education orientation law in 1998. Those changes include the institution of NSE （new syllabuses of English）, the institution of an English paper at the end-of-primary school examination, the adoption new course books, the decision requesting all FPE teachers to teach English alongside other subjects This paper the data of which stem from a survey of teachers （n = 222）, pupils （n = 589）, parents （n = 293）, and head teachers （n = 23） in some 30 schools of Yaounde proposes some strategies to help curb the crucial lack of qualified teachers, the high cost of teaching and learning materials and the glaring lack of motivation of teachers. Strategies include how to train specialist teachers in numbers, the institution of a BPB （bilingualism promotion bonus） to generate sustained motivation to teach, a substantial subsidization of course book production With these measures the promotion of French/English school bilingualism in Cameroon primary education may turn from the myth of Sisyphus it has become into a successful undertaking
