Assessing the Effectiveness of a Cervical Cancer Screening Program in a Hospital-based Study

This study compared HPV testing and liquid-based cytology （LCT） as performance indicators for cervical cancer screening in a hospital-based study. A total of 61,193 outpatients were screened initially by LCT. Samples with screening results showing atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance （ASC-US） or worse were referred for colposcopy, and some samples were tested for high-risk HPV types with the Hybrid Capture II system （HC II）. Data on LCT （n=61,193） and HC II （n=1056） results were analysed. Overall test positivity for LCT was 2.53% using an ASC-US threshold, 3.11% using a low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion （LSIL） threshold, and 0.67% using a high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion （HSIL） threshold. A total of 1839 women （84% of the 3893 patients with abnormal cytology） underwent colposcopy-directed biopsy. HPV was positive in 80.3% of women with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia 1 （CIN1）, 88.3% of those with CIN2, 79.2% of women with CIN3 and 50% （2 of 4） of women with invasive cancer. There was a significant increase in the detection of CIN2 or worse with adjunct HPV testing of women with ASC-US and LSIL However, there were detection of CIN2＋ cases no differences in the with adjunct HPV testing of women with HSlI.. The results indicate that HPV testing for HSlL triage should not be recommended in cervical cancer screening.

Comparing the Effectiveness of Coatings on Carbide andCermet Cutting Tool Inserts

A series of metal cutting experiments was performed on a CNC lathe to evaluate the performance of various coatings on different tool substrates. The workpiece material was plain medium carbon steel and the cutting tool materials were carbide and cermet inserts coated with various single as well as multilayer coatings. Machining was done under various cutting conditions of speed and feed-rate, and for various durations of Cutting. The output parameters studied were the cutting forces (axial, radial and tangential), the surface roughness of the workpiece, as well as the tool wear (crater and flank wear). From these results, the performances of the various cutting inserts are evaluated and compared. Results show that cutting forces are significantly lower when using coated cermets than when using coated carbides although different coatings on the same substrate also result in different cutting forces. However, there is less difference in the surface roughness of the finished workpiece for the various coatings and substrates.

The Effectiveness of Facebook as an Advertising Strategic Method Using EPIC： A Case Study of Mie Jupe Jombang

This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of advertising through social media （i.e., Facebook）. Mie Jupe Jombang has applied using an analytical method called EPIC Model. The population of this study points to 5,000 people found as consumers and engaged as facebook friends of Mie Jupe Jombang. Using purposive sampling technique, 100 respondents are collected as the total sample of this study. They are scattered in Jombang regency and engaged with Mie Jupe Jombang＇s Facebook account as friends that apparently seems to advertise Mie Jupe Jombang. This study uses descriptive analysis method with EPIC model （Empathy, Persuation, Impact, and Communication）. The result of analysis shows that the variables of EPIC Model （Empathy, Persuation, Impact and Communication） are found quite effective. Overall, this fmding concludes that the advertising of Mie Jupe Jombang is quite effective.

COMPARISON OF THE EFFECTIVENESS BETWEEN ANTERIOR CAPSULOTOMY WITH Nd:YAG LASER AND WITH BENT NEEDLE IN PATIENTS WITH CONGENITAL CATARACT

The effectiveness of capsulotomy with Nd:YAG laser and with bent needle were compared in 50 patients(66 eyes) with congenital cataract. There were 24 patients(32 eyes) in the laser group and 26 patients(34 eyes) in the needle group. There were not significant differences in sex, age, pre-operative visual acuity and intraocular pressures, and classification of cataract between the two groups. The Effectiveness of Cyclic Blockwise Distribution

In spite of the wealth Of existing data distribution methods, most parallel programming languages support only some form of cyclic blockwise distribution. The main reason why only this single method is supported is that it is relatively simple to implement. However, it is as yet nuclear whether cyclic blockwise distribution is sufficiently powerful for a wide class of distribution problems. In this paper the method will be analysed, showing that for a wide range of problems it is indeed sufficient. It will also be shown in which cases cyclic blockwise distribution can be effected to fail. From this analysis, it is possible to formulate practical guidelines to assist Programmers in choosing the cycle frequency for cyclic blockwise distribution that leads to an optimal result.

Algorithms for Increasing of the Effectiveness of the Making Decisions by Intelligent Fuzzy Systems

There are considered rule-based intelligent systems using fuzzy inference. Comparative analysis of different approaches and algorithms of making decisions on the base of fuzzy logic is given. Using of the parallel calculations can reduce the time of making decision in case of large-scale systems. Effectiveness of parallel calculations depends on the grouping of the rules and variables. Building of the graph of the dependence of the rules and the graph of dependence of the linguistic variables are suggested. On the base of the developed groups of rules and defuzzification of the linguistic variables we suggest to reduce the time of making decision and therefore to increase the effectiveness of the decision making with using of parallel calculations for each group.

Multi-voltage X-ray image sequence fusion based on selection of valid region

A key step is to extract valid information region in the fusion of multi-voltage X-ray image sequence for complicated components. To improve the self-adaption of extraction, a method is presented in this paper. In this paper, the valid informa-tion region is selected by the grey level interval, which is computed by the optimization of image quality evaluation model. The model is based on the histogram equalization and the grey level interval. Then, every valid region of images at different voltages is extracted and they are fused according their grey level transformation function. The fusion image contains completed struc-ture information of the component. The fusion experiment of a cylinder head shows the effectiveness of the presented method.
