This paper considered the bilateral transactions execution, new energy accommodation, power grid security and generation economy, considering the executive priority of different power components to establish a multi-objective coordination unit commitment model. Through an example to verify the effectiveness of the model in promoting wind power consumption, guaranteeing trade execution, and improving power generation efficiency, and analyzed the interactions to each other among the factors of wind power, trading and blocking. According to the results, when wind power causes reverse power flow in the congestion line, it will promote the implementation of contracts, the influence of wind power accommodation to trade execution should be analyzed combined with the grid block, the results can provide reference for wind power planning.展开更多

Public-private partnerships(PPPs) have reshaped the institutional structure of global governance.They have advanced collaboration on core issues such as health, clean energy, the rights of women and children, and acce...Public-private partnerships(PPPs) have reshaped the institutional structure of global governance.They have advanced collaboration on core issues such as health, clean energy, the rights of women and children, and access to infrastructure, among others. But which actors create and finance public-private partnerships in global governance to advance such objectives? What are the implications of the agency behind such collaboration for influencing the global agenda on sustainable development? While some scholars and advocacy groups see the growing role of private actors as a powershift away from public institutions, others argue that such arrangements tend to be complementary to public mandates and indeed may provide a new means for international institutions to pursue such mandates. The article probes this debate by analyzing the type of actors that finance global health partnerships, an area in which the influence of hybrid initiatives is particularly prominent. It reveals that public financing remains a core and necessary condition for the emergence and functioning of PPPs. The growing share of private financing,nonetheless, has important implications for shaping partnerships agendas and steering global health and sustainability governance. Rather than a powershift or abdication of responsibilities by the state, there is rather a tendency of deliberate diffusion of power by donors toward hybrid structures.展开更多

Previous studies show that pay for performance sensitivity of Japanese executive compensation is positive and almost the same as in a market-oriented system like that of the United States of America (USA). However, previous studies do not investigate how Japanese corporate governance mechanisms like financial keiretsu ties and bank-appointed directors affect pay for performance sensitivity. This paper finds that the disciplinary mechanism of keiretsu memberships and bank-appointed monitors did not function well in Japan in the 1990s.展开更多

Traditionally, relative studies view the management of governments as the effective means to improve governmental services, without really understanding the structural influence of big data and network technology on governmental mode of thinking. Against such backdrop, this paper tries to conduct critical analysis based upon traditional outcomes in this regard, trying to make full use of the function of big data technology. With these efforts, this paper contributes to the building of an interaction theory that could promote transparency of information and customization and segmentation of the policies. By constructing a mode in which management could be carried out based on the law of big data, by building an information management system in which balance could be achieved between responsibility and freedom, by promoting the rebalancing among public power, online civil society and civil rights, the innovation of governmental management would be achieved.展开更多

This paper tries to pin down the reasons for the survival of the Giza pyramids in order to reach a criterion for choosing sites for important buildings. It argues that the site selection and the geological properties of the area, being away from seismic effects,, floods and groundwater levels, the stability of the geometric form of the pyramid, the solidity of the structural engineering and precision of execution arguably are the reasons why the Great Pyramids of Giza are the only survivors of the seven wonders of the ancient world.展开更多

To the Qing dynasty, the Portuguese still stubbornly refused to obey the law of China and often escaped from Chinese criminal law using briberies. In the case about Huiqian CHEN and the processing in the end of 1743, the fact that the Portuguese often escaped from the law of China was changed, and the principle of the Chinese judicial officials about processing the murders about Chinese killed by foreigners was explicitly defined. In this principle, Chinese significant compromises and concessions to the Portuguese were also included, but the criminal jurisdiction was ultimately controlled by the Government of the Qing Dynasty. Thus, the foreign-related criminal procedures conforming to foreign conditions were revised by the government of the Qing Dynasty according to the actual circumstances of Macao. However, the foreign-related criminal procedures revised by the government of the Qing Dynasty were not honestly observed by the Portuguese. After several major cases occurred in Macao, security rules and regulations were further issued by the government of the Qing Dynasty, in which the judicial control power of the government of the Qing Dynasty in Macao was unequivocally stated.展开更多
The study sought to assess the role and significance of chiefs in the traditional governance system of Cape Coast,Teshie and Kumasi communities in Ghana.This study employed the case study comparative approach.A total ...The study sought to assess the role and significance of chiefs in the traditional governance system of Cape Coast,Teshie and Kumasi communities in Ghana.This study employed the case study comparative approach.A total of 85 participants were selected for the study using the snowballing method of sampling.Data were collected using a four-point Likert scale questionnaire.Data analysis and presentation of results were done by using mean and standard deviation.The study revealed that chieftaincy as an institution is deeply rooted in the local communities.It further revealed that a chief is both the politico-military and religious head.It was recommended that there is the need for the modern state to go beyond just involving chiefs in only sod cutting ceremonies and other state functions to include them in the implementation of local development policies.Further to this,the roles and functions of traditional authorities and local government officials must be well-defined and agreed upon and the public must be made to understand this delineation of responsibilities brought by the government.展开更多

We use data from listed companies in China over the period 2007-2016 to show that powerful chief executive officers (CEOs) simultaneously incur self-interested agency costs while acting as stewards to benefit the firm. In balancing the push-and-pull forces of stewardship and agency behaviors, powerful CEOs in Chinese firms ultimately improve short-term and long-term firm performance. Our results have important implications for understanding how CEOs affect firms and how cultural factors can motivate CEOs to work in the interest of the firm.展开更多

文摘Andrew Jackson utilized a public philosophy of populism,defined by Terry Bimes in her dissertation,“as a mode of rhetorical appeal,one that pits the president and the people against a corrupt special interest”.According to Bimes,the origins of presidential populism originated with Andrew Jackson,were not invented by him,but were“combined with elements of current theories and practices of presidential leadership and governance”.Bimes,in her discussion of how Jackson emphasized the use of populism,stressed that all parts of the government ultimately received their legitimacy from the people and that the government should pursue the common good and prevent those with particular interests from dominating the political process.American politics,I utilize Terry Bimes‟definition of populism,“as a mode of rhetorical appeal,one that pits the president and the people against a corrupt special interest”.A public philosophy has been defined by James W.Ceaser who reviewed the concept that was first used by the journalist Walter Lippman in his book The Public Philosophy that was concerned about competing philosophies with liberalism against its adversary,such as Marxism.Political scientists Theodore Lowi and Samuel Beer defined a public philosophy“as a synonym for what social scientists in American politics called ideology”.Lowi and Beer further defined how a public philosophy was a transforming idea that governs public opinion by utilizing Roosevelt‟s New Deal to explain an example of a change in public philosophy,in which a federal government is strengthened,replacing the older idea of an inactive government.Further,Lowi described how a public philosophy is a way of understanding the significance of public policies,i.e.,New Deal Policies on society.In addition,James W.Ceaser described a public philosophy“as a core set of values embodied in long term opinion that influences public policy over a full era”.
文摘This study selected 473 local research articles on executive compensation from core journals in the China Academic Journals(CNKI)full-text database and the Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index(CSSCI)from 2003 to 2020.Then,the bibliometric analysis method was adopted and conducted in regard to the number of articles published,authors,research institutions,high-frequency keywords,etc.In view of the increasing studies of this field,this study showed that a few scholars and institutions with high academic influence have been involved in the research on executive compensation gap in China.The results from this study revealed that the research on the relationship between executive compensation gap and firm performance as well as the moderating variables between them were topics of interests.In the context of the increasing compensation gap which had become a global interest,the research on management power and promotion incentives have established their significance as important research frontiers.

文摘Since the rise of the Internet in China,China’s local governments have actively used Internet technology to facilitate public administration and public services.What impact,then,have different types of social media had on local governance?This paper,based on years of investigation of J Town and L Sub-district in Shanghai(2012-2018),finds that Internet technology has profoundly transformed the grassroots power structure.Before the rise of the Internet,the grassroots power structure included local government,activists and the masses;in the age of Weibo and home owners forums,grassroots opinion leaders rose,becoming an impressive social force that local government could not afford to ignore;in the age of WeChat,however,the influence of grassroots opinion leaders declined,as local government can interact directly with the masses through WeChat public accounts and WeChat group chats,with the network technology becoming a tool for micromanagement.These three stages correspond to three types of government characterized by limited mobilization,consultation,and user-friendliness,respectively.

文摘Do agency and stewardship behaviors coexist at firms, or does one dominate the other? We use data from listed companies in China over the period 2007-2016 to show that powerful chief executive officers (CEOs) simultaneously incur self-interested agency costs while acting as stewards to benefit the firm. In balancing the push-and-pull forces of stewardship and agency behaviors, powerful CEOs in Chinese firms ultimately improve short-term and long-term firm performance. Our results have important implications for understanding how CEOs affect firms and how cultural factors can motivate CEOs to work in the interest of the firm.
