For the constrained generalized Hamiltonian system with dissipation, by introducing Lagrange multiplier and using projection technique, the Lie group integration method was presented, which can preserve the inherent s...For the constrained generalized Hamiltonian system with dissipation, by introducing Lagrange multiplier and using projection technique, the Lie group integration method was presented, which can preserve the inherent structure of dynamic system and the constraint-invariant. Firstly, the constrained generalized Hamiltonian system with dissipative was converted to the non-constraint generalized Hamiltonian system, then Lie group integration algorithm for the non-constraint generalized Hamiltonian system was discussed, finally the projection method for generalized Hamiltonian system with constraint was given. It is found that the constraint invariant is ensured by projection technique, and after introducing Lagrange multiplier the Lie group character of the dynamic system can't be destroyed while projecting to the constraint manifold. The discussion is restricted to the case of holonomic constraint. A presented numerical example shows the effectiveness of the method.展开更多
The aim of this study is to assess creativity of the students from a project of first year undergrad students of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi,a residential college(KMUTT-RC).A project is a part of...The aim of this study is to assess creativity of the students from a project of first year undergrad students of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi,a residential college(KMUTT-RC).A project is a part of academic contents from Physics and Chemistry subjects.There were instructors from Chemistry,Physics,Engineering,and Social Sciences Department for consulting and engineering students for building a prototype.Formative assessment activity is explored from question,answer,and presentation.The characters,assessed on creativity,associated with an analysis on the rubric of prototype design,knowledge,and selective materials.Most students understood the perspective on creativity correlating with the observation from instructors.The instructor’s view represented that most of creative scores gained from motivate design and materials selection while their knowledge was not adequate.The accuracy of prototypes from the students did not relate to creativity in terms of design but error of measurement could occur from confusing with refractive index scale and from preparing a standard solution in chemical laboratory.展开更多
With the launch of the U.S.Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design(LEED^(■))rating system,new building construction in the United States has rapidly begun adopting this guide as the st...With the launch of the U.S.Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design(LEED^(■))rating system,new building construction in the United States has rapidly begun adopting this guide as the standard for sustainable building.The rating system profoundly alters the design and operation of buildings,however,to date,little has been documented on the cumulative effects of the rating system across different phases of the project lifecycle:planning,architecture/design,engineering,construction and operational facility management(AEC+P+F).Further,the ability to gain efficiencies in the building phase itself is still unknown.Implications of the delivery system in LEED^(■)attainment also have not been clearly associated with the level of AEC+P+F integration.To pursue this goal,project participants are becoming involved earlier in the process;information exchanges take place throughout the project lifecycle;and the results of those frequent exchanges impact the value to the owner through focus on attainment of a particular green rating score.These features are confi guring a framework for green project delivery.This framework approaches lean thinking by generating value to the owner,improving the flow of information,and transforming the inputs required for the selection of materials and systems,to outputs in the form of a sustainability rating certification.This research focuses on exploring associations between LEED^(■)criteria,project lifecycle,the stakeholders’interests,lean process improvements and typical delivery systems used in building construction.The paper proposes a matrix of weighted indexes to explain and provide increased collaboration among project participants,improved efficiency throughout the project lifecycle,and new techniques which may be incorporated into the construction process.展开更多

Therefore, a systematic and sustainable process is necessary to coordinat...In project-based organizations knowledge is a critical resource used to develop and deliver products and services with a high level of quality. Therefore, a systematic and sustainable process is necessary to coordinate knowledge management, project management and product lifecycle. This scenario predominates in companies focused on the creation and maintenance of information systems. This article presents an exploratory study based on a framework that integrates cognitive, managerial, and operational processes in a public Brazilian organization that provides services in the area of information and communications technology, focusing on the construction and maintenance of information systems. Those processes are operationalized by three management models considering knowledge, project, and software development processes. Our proposal aims to understand the relationships between those three management models and their influence on the software development process in the organization under study. Our premise is based on the principle that cognitive management, project management, and software development management must be integrated to fulfill the demands of product development and service provision. The research data was composed of registers of working hours spent on software development and maintenance projects involving 244 people allocated to 5064 projects in the period from 2007 to 2013. The study resulted in the identification of the relationships among the three management models adopted by the organization, with emphasis on knowledge management activities, which were not directly identified, making it difficult to account for and measure them. We established a set of activities connected to each one of the knowledge management model phases. Since those activities were not visible before, our approach contributed to build a systematic process to register and relate activities linked to the dimensions of cognitive processes, project management, and software construction.展开更多

This paper proposes a novel monitoring strategy based on fuzzy C-means. The high dimensional historical data are transferred to a low dimensional subspace spanned by locality preserving projection. Then the scores in the novel subspace are classified into several overlapped clusters, each representing an operational mode. The distance statistics of each cluster are integrated though the membership values into a novel BID (Bayesian inference distance) monitoring index. The efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed method are validated though the Tennessee Eastman benchmark process.展开更多
