In the present paper,the distribution feeder reconfiguration in the presence of distributed generation resources(DGR)and energy storage systems(ESS)is solved in the dynamic form.Since studies on the reconfiguration problem have ignored the grid security and reliability,the non-distributed energy index along with the energy loss and voltage stability indices has been assumed as the objective functions of the given problem.To achieve the mentioned benefits,there are several practical plans in the distribution network.One of these applications is the network rearrangement plan,which is the simplest and least expensive way to add equipment to the network.Besides,by adding the DGRs to the distribution grid,the radial mode of the grid and the one-sided passage of power are eliminated,and the ordinary and simple grid is replaced with a complex grid.In this paper,an improved particle clustering algorithm is used to solve the distribution network rearrangement problem with the presence of distributed generation sources.The PQ model and the PV model are both considered,and for this purpose,a model based on the compensation technique is used to model the PV busbars.The proposed developed model has particularly improved the local and global search of this algorithm.The reconfiguration problem is discussed and investigated considering different scenarios in a standard 33-bus grid as a well-known power system in different scenarios in the presence and absence of the DGRs.Then,the obtained results are compared. 展开更多

Global renewable energy has maintained a steady growth in recent years, mainly fostered by national policies and increasing demand. Analyzing the experience of renewable energy development in developed countries can be important to provide reference and guidance for its adoption in other countries. First, we compare and summarize definitions of distributed generation from 18 leading countries and organizations in renewable energy. On this basis, we provide three basic characteristics for successful distributed generation using renewable resources. Then, we empirically analyze the distributed and centralized development of renewable energy in Germany with focus on wind and photovoltaic power. We determined that 95% of the photovoltaic generation and 85% of the wind power generation is distributed in Germany, suggesting that the most suitable generation mode for renewable energy is the distributed approach. 展开更多

Under the support of the National High Technology Research and Development Program of China (863 Program), Tsinghua University and other units have completed the program named 'Research on Critical Technologies and Demonstration Applications of the Trusted Next Generation Internet', which targets the secure and trustworthy problems existing in the current Internet. With focus on tackling the technical problem of authentic address access in the Internet, a prototype system for trusted Internet infrastructure, security service and typical applications are designed and implemented. The paper discusses harvesting the Congo River for bulk hydroelectric generation based on run of river, low head generation technology, as employed at the existing Inga 2 power station in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The evolutionary approach builds on existing infrastructure.The results show that the footprint is much smaller than that which employs a conventional dam. The environmental impact is minimized. These collectively will contribute to lower capital costs. In summary, 10,000 cm3/sec of constant river flow will produce 5,000 MW of base power. On average, the constant recorded flow of the river is 30,000 cm3/sec and a total of 15,000 MW of base power generation is possible. 展开更多

It is of great significance to automatically generate code from structured flowchart. There are some deficiencies in existing researches, and their key algorithms and technologies are not elaborated, also there are very few full-featured integrated development platforms that can generate code automatically based on structured flowchart. By analyzing the characteristics of structured flowchart, a structure identification algorithm for structured flowchart is put forward. The correctness of algorithm is verified by enumeration iteration. Then taking the identified flowchart as input, an automatic code generation algorithm is proposed. Also the correctness is verified by enumeration iteration. Finally an integrated development platform is developed using those algorithms, including flowchart modeling, code automatic generation, CDT\GCC\GDB etc. The correctness and effectiveness of algorithms proposed are verified through practical operations. 展开更多

In this paper, we identify a set of factors that may be used to forecast software productivity and software development time. Software productivity was measured in function points per person hours, and software development time was measured in number of elapsed days. Using field data on over 130 field software projects from various industries, we empirically test the impact of team size, integrated computer aided software engineering (ICASE) tools, software development type, software development platform, and programming language type on the software development productivity and development time. Our results indicate that team size, software development type, software development platform, and programming language type significantly impact software development productivity. However, only team size significantly impacts software development time. Our results indicate that effective management of software development teams, and using different management strategies for different software development type environments may improve software development productivity. 展开更多

Key approaches include atmospheric water generation, advanced desalination techniques, innovative water collection methods such as fog nets and dew harvesting, geothermal water extraction, and water recycling and reuse. Each method is evaluated for its feasibility with existing technology, potential time of implementation, required investments, and specific challenges. By leveraging these technologies and combining them into a multifaceted water management strategy, it is possible to enhance water security, support agricultural and industrial activities, and improve living conditions in arid regions. Collaborative efforts between governments, private sector entities, and research institutions are crucial to advancing these technologies and ensuring their sustainable implementation. The growth, development and consumption of successive three generations of cotton bollworm, Helicoverpa armigera (Htibner), fed on cotton bolls grown under elevated CO2 (double-ambient vs. ambient) in open-top chambers were examined. Significant decreases in protein, total amino acid, water and nitrogen content and increases in free fatty acid were observed in cotton bolls. Changes in quality of cotton bolls affected the growth, development and food utilization of H. armigera. Significantly longer larval development duration in three successive generations and lower pupal weight of the second and third generations were observed in cotton bollworm fed on cotton bolls grown under elevated CO2. Significantly lower fecundity was also found in successive three generations of H. armigera fed on cotton bolls grown under elevated CO2. The consumption per larva occurred significant increase in successive three generations and frass per larva were also significantly increased during the second and third generations under elevated CO2. Significantly lower relative growth rate, efficiency of conversion of ingested food and significant higher relative consumption rate in successive three generations were observed in cotton bollworm fed on cotton bolls grown under elevated CO2. Significantly lower potential female fecundity, larval numbers and population consumption were found in the second and third generations of cotton bollworm fed on cotton bolls grown under elevated CO2. The integrative effect of higher larval mortality rate and lower adult fecundity resulted in significant decreases in potential population consumption in the latter two generations. The results show that elevated CO2 adversely affects cotton bolls quality, which indicates the potential population dynamics and potential population consumption of cotton bollworm will alleviate the harm to the plants in the future rising CO2 atmosphere. 展开更多

Analysis of Entropy Generation in a Rectangular Porous Duct

In this paper, we have considered a fully developed flow of a viscous incompressible fluid in a rectangular porous duct saturated with the same fluid. The duct is heated from the bottom for forced and mixed convection. The Brinkman model is used to simulate the momentum transfer in the porous duct. Using the momentum and thermal energy equations, the entropy generation has been obtained due to the heat transfer, viscous and Darcy dissipations. It is found from the mathematical analysis that the entropy generation is double when the viscous as well as the Darcy dissipations terms are taken in the thermal energy equation in comparison when the viscous as well as the Darcy dissipations terms are not taken in the thermal energy equation. This result clearly shows that there is no need of taking the viscous and Darcy dissipations terms in the thermal energy equation to obtain the entropy generation. 展开更多
