Based on the network teaching model,this article briefly summarizes the development of Chinese art history education in universities,analyzes the importance of integrating network teaching in Chinese art history lessons,and explores the integration strategy.

Tracing to the Pedigree Origin of Craig Clunas's View of Chinese Art History

Craig Clunas's academic thinking is deeply influenced by western deconstruction and post-colonialism,among which Foucault's thought of"discourse power"and Bourdieu's theory of"cultural capital"are the most well-known.The knowledge system constructed by the academic circles in Europe and America has great inspiration for Craig Clunas in the study of the history of Chinese art,which enables him to draw knowledge nutrients from these theories,fully consider and learn from these viewpoints and form his own theoretical framework.Craig Clunas integrates the"interdisciplinary"research ideas of western scholars in his research,and tries to use the theories of economics,sociology and anthropology to solve the specific problems of art history.The following is a brief talk about the important influence of two French scholars on Craig Clunas.

在大量美术考古材料不断出土的情况下,新方法、新视角以及由此衍生出的一些重要的学术概念,构成了最近30年来古代中国墓葬美术史研究的总体特征。如空间性、物质性、时间性这三个学术概念就建构了巫鸿新作《黄泉下的美术——宏观中国古代墓葬》的研究线索,也体现出作者希望以提出若干重要学术概念为依托,重新思考古代中国墓葬美术发展的内在理路。同时所呈现出的叙述与分析风格及美术史观,相对于传统的中国美术通史叙述方式,则具有更为宽广的学术视野。这些特征都为以后的古代中国墓葬美术史研究,提供了一个可以继续探索的桥梁。

Representations of Contentious History Through Art:The Collective Trauma of Guernica

The question this study is attempting to address is how art can be used as a tool for promoting sustainable peace and the formation of a critical and accountable citizen.Such humanistic function of art is challenged in situations where society has been wounded as it often happens during and after the war.This study claims that challenges are fundamentally connected to the problem of historical narratives,especially those related to collective traumas,their use and role in shaping the views of the future generations.Narratives about the contentious past,and particularly collective traumas,are considered an important part of the cultural capital and collective identity of a society serving as a nation-building tool that unifies and glorifies the“in-group”.They can also serve to mobilize people along ethnic lines,which can lead to tensions and conflict.The aim of the study is to examine historical narratives and representations of the collective trauma of Guernica,the epicenter of the Basque identity and culture.The article concludes with an analysis of the artistic representations of collective trauma,such as the famous Picasso’s painting Guernica that has served to promote the message of peace by provoking critical thinking and accountability.

A Review on the Development of Chinese Graphic Design Education

The development of economy and industrialization further accelerates the pace of development of graphic design education.The educational system actively adopted two ways of“going out”and“inviting in”to communicate with the western world in graphic design(Zhang,2009).Chinese design began to re-examine its balance between globalization and localization after rapid absorption and international experience digestion.As for the negative influence,it led to the risk of developing short-sightedness in design education.Faced with unprecedented challenges,the graphic design industry was continually expanding its functions.The development of Chinese design cannot entirely rely on its own.There was no doubt that graphic design was indeed facing significant obstacles.The suggestions from the American Institute of Graphic Arts(AIGA)are set very high to achieve;the objectives will be excellent if academia can follow.A study aims to understand the overall curriculum and course design and how best to modify the general curriculum and course design to allow for industry practices changes and keep a close eye on the Chinese market's changing needs for design should be carried out.

Traditional Chinese Medicine in Malaysia:A Brief Historical Overview of Education and Research

The education and research of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)in Malaysia started coincidentally circa Malaysia’s independence movement.Before the independence,much of the development focused on establishing treatment centers and Chinese medical halls to provide TCM treatment.Periodicals and journals advocating TCM and its advancement were published between the 1940s and 1960s,but many did not survive after a few issues.The challenge posed by the Immigration Ordinance 1952 further united TCM practitioners and TCM associations to establish the Chinese Medical Institute of Malaya.The trend gained momentum,and many educational institutes were set up in each of Malaysia.From the 1970s,Malaysia started hosting regional and international TCM conferences.In 2000,TCM education in Malaysia had finally gained recognition from the government.ATCM program standard was thus released by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency(MQA).To date,there are seven private higher education institutions which offer TCM programs based on the MQA standards and have established international collaborations with other universities.It is projected that Malaysia’s TCM education and research will grow further as a result of China’s Belt and Road initiative.

Research on Developing Traditional Chinese Martial Arts Culture and Effectively Penetrating Moral Education

In order to implement the requirement of Minislry of Education, ＂further deepen the reform of moral education courses, and play a role in the classroom main channel＂, with literature analysis, case studies and other methods, we make an objective analysis of the real issues of ＂sports disciplines teaching moral education ＂. The results show that physical teachers should effectively improve the penetration ideology and moral education wisdom and teaching skills; they should grasp the connection between moral and discipline and integrate ＂moral goals＂ organically into a three-dimensional target subjects, and implemented it in accordance with the corresponding dimension specific content; in the implementation process, we should focus on using a variety of learning styles, making clever use of resources and make the best use; we need to persevere, to strengthen the sports discipline of moral norms infiltration operations, and better protect the effective penetration of Physical Education in Moral Education.

Along with the legends about epidemic demons,China has developed over the centuries a medical approach to epidemic diseases based on the teachings of Hucng Di Nei Jing(《黄帝内经》Huangdi s Intermnal Classic),Nan Jing(《难经》Classic of Difficult Issues),and Shang Han Lun(《伤寒论》Treatise on Cold Damage).Other doctors and scientists participated in this evolution of knowledge,like Wang Shuhe(王叔和),Ge Hong(葛洪),Chao Yuanfang(巢元方),Sun Simiao(孙思邈),and Liu Wansu(刘完素).However,it was in the 17^th century,after the great break of the Song,Jin,and Yuan eras that an innovative spirit,Wu Youke(吴又可1582-1652)first foresaw the existence of microorganisms as we know them now.His Wen Yi Lun(《瘟疫论》Treatise on Pestilence)foreshadows an original approach to epidemic diseases,particularly emerging infectious diseases of the 21^st century.After them,traditional Chinese medicine developed a comprehensive method of diagnosing and treating of these diseases(Epidemic Diseases Theory瘟疫学说)within the School ofHeat Diseases(温病学派).In a third article,we will examine some applications in the treatment of the SARS 2003-2004 epidemic(非典型肺炎)and the current COVID-19(新型冠状病毒肺炎)pandemic.

Learner Autonomy in the National English Language Curricula for Chinese Universities 1978-2007:A Historical Analysis

This historical study investigates the concept of learner autonomy in the national English language curricula for Chinese universities.It seeks to understand the meaning of learner autonomy in China and the intentionality of promoting this concept through the curricula from 1978 to 2007.By adopting Quentin Skinner’s intentionalist approach to analyzing the history of ideas,this study conducted a systematic document analysis of three national curricula in relation to their linguistic and practical contexts constituted of 169 Chinese academic articles in total.The study revealed that learner autonomy mainly referred to students’motivation and ability to work hard on their own outside the classroom in the Chinese context.Importing this concept,however,caused ideological confusion and exacerbated the disempowerment of teachers within the dynamics of China’s English language education at the tertiary level.The study raises awareness for borrowing concepts across different cultural contexts and has implications for research,policymaking,teacher development,and pedagogical practice in second language education in China.

Reverberating Chinese Traditional Folk Art in a Contemporary Context

Envisioned as a practice-based research, this paper explored Chinese traditional folk arts and crafts with a focus on traditional decorative patterns, vivid colors, and symbolic motifs that enliven Foshan style paper-cuttings, New Year wood block prints, paper kites, festival lanterns, and Shiwan pottery figures from the areas of Foshan and Shiwan, near Guangzhou, China. The goal of this research was to create a series of original paintings by investigating Chinese traditional folk arts and handcrafts and integrating them physically or ichnographically on Ho＇s new body of paintings. Chinese traditional motifs including Chinese characters and Buddhist iconographies had already been important motifs in the contemporary Western paintings of Kong Ho for the past 10 years. This paper examined not only the artistic, cultural, and historical values but also the impacts of Chinese traditional folk arts and era~ on Ho＇s painting through a personal research travel and studies of a certain amount of Chinese paper-cuttings, folk prints, pottery, and handcrafts found in the famous Foshan Folk Art Studio and Foshan City Shiwan Ceramics Factory in Foshan, China. Furthermore, this paper investigated the symbolic meanings founded in Ho＇s spiritual paintings with strong Chinese heritage and how he reinterpreted those artifacts in a contemporary context.

The Heterogeneous Differences between Chinese and Western Landscape Culture Studies

For a long time,due to the differences in terrain and culture,the aesthetic appreciation of Chinese and Western gardens has produced a large gap in modeling and design.Although the composition of garden elements is nothing more than landscape and architecture,there are obvious differences in the use of space and natural attitudes.Chinese gardens always follow the laws of natural beauty and formal beauty in modeling design,and respect nature in attitude and coordinate with nature.However,western gardens attach importance to architecture and artificalism,highlight rational aesthetics,get used to transforming nature in attitude,and always focus on"taking people as the center".They also have cognitive differences in the study of garden history.Comparing the Chinese and Western view of landscape architecture can enrich and expand the possibility of"Chinese landscape architecture research".

王逊的中国美术史研究,直接延续了新文化运动尤其是蔡元培、邓以蛰的学脉,并且远承了启蒙运动以来的德国美术史传统。王逊在他的中国美术史研究和教学尤其是《中国美术史稿》等著作中,特别强调“美术史是一种科学”,注重基于马赫主义的实在论来揭示中国美术史“优秀的现实主义传统”,并将其作为“创造新美术的依据”,以及追问“为什么要学习或研究美术史”,其实都是启蒙精神的具体表征。王逊的中国美术史研究和著作或有具体欠缺乃至错误,但他在特殊时期为研究中国美术史以及撰写相关的著作所付出的种种艰辛努力,尤其是他所一再追问的“为什么要学习或研究美术史”,仍然拥有其恒久的意义。

刘兆吉美育思想及其对当代美育的启示

刘兆吉先生是美育心理学科创始人,其美育思想的产生经历了启蒙、孕育、创立三个阶段。刘兆吉先生提出的“美育与美育心理学是皮毛相依的关系”“艺美融合实现大美育”“将美寓各科,实现各科育美、五育共美”和“探究美育理论与实践相结合”等思想,对当代开展学校美育工作具有重要启示意义。新时代,美育应遵循美育心理规律,提升美育教学的有效性;倡导大美育理念,构建各科育美、协同育人的美育机制;扎根中华优秀传统文化和时代生活,培育中华美育精神,以此改进和加强美育实践。
