After Hurricane Katrina in 2005,literary works related to such a crisis sprouted the southern America,which are known as Post-Katrina Literature.This thesis,taking Salvage the Bones and The Not Yet as examples,scrutinizes how writers respond to the Post-Katrina environmental crisis in different ways.In Salvage the Bones,Jesmyn Ward employs a biographical genre to record the Katrina disaster,thereby,writings serving as a way of healing the psychic trauma of the writer herself;and in The Not Yet,Moira Crone presents a post-natural world by the employment of the Cli-Fi genre.Both writers enrich the tradition of Southern literature as well as American eco-literature.

On Translation of Children’s Literature Based on Reception Aesthetics:A Case Study of The Secret Garden

A Case of Lautropia mirabilis Infection in a Lung Transplant Patient and a Review of the Literature

Lautropia mirabilis is an opportunistic pathogen that typically causes intestinal and oral infections when the body’s immune system is compromised or the microbial flora is imbalanced.Respiratory infections caused by Lautropia mirabilis are extremely rare.The symptoms and severity of Lautropia mirabilis infection may vary depending on individual differences and the site of infection.Through a review of relevant literature and this case study,it has been observed that Lautropia mirabilis may also cause pulmonary infectious diseases,and in immunocompromised patients,it can lead to severe infections,potentially resulting in death.

A Case of Waldenström Macroglobulinemia with Acute Kidney Injury as the First Manifestation and Literature Review

Waldenström macroglobulinemia is a rare lymphoid tumor accounting for 2% of all hematological malignancies. Renal complications are less common compared to multiple myeloma, with the most frequent renal manifestations being microproteinuria and microhematuria. This paper presents a case of Waldenström macroglobulinemia with acute kidney injury as the initial manifestation. A 75-year-old male was admitted to the Affiliated Hospital of Hebei University after elevated blood creatinine levels were detected for one day. Upon admission, his blood creatinine was 255 μmol/L, urine protein was 1+, urine erythrocytes were negative, electrophoresis showed IgM positivity in the κ-region, and a bone marrow biopsy indicated a tendency towards lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma. The patient was discharged after receiving a treatment regimen of prednisone acetate, thalidomide, and cyclophosphamide, and continued oral medication outside the hospital. The patient returned two weeks later due to diarrhea and was found to have a blood creatinine level of 985 μmol/L, along with severe acidosis and hyperkalemia. The patient refused renal replacement therapy and was not followed up, resulting in a poor prognosis. Additionally, a review of the literature is provided to contextualize this case within the broader scope of existing research.

On the Aesthetic Wonder and Unity at the Peak of Literary Theory in the Six Dynasties Key

The study found that the classics born during the turbulent Six Dynasties period,starting from Cao Pi’s“The Classics”to“Wen Fu”,“Wen Xin Diao Long”,“Shipin”and other classics,can all be analyzed to have a common origin.Attributes,that is,the philosophical strategy of dualistic isomorphism of explicit and implicit,is also a pattern;it can be proven that this is the philosophical key to interpreting and studying the classics of the Six Dynasties.It not only governs many aesthetic principles and aesthetic methods,but also emphasizes the need to transcend the appearance of current existence,transcend the current utilitarianism,and pay attention to the hidden and non-existent,just like paying attention to dark matter and antimatter in the universe.Pay attention to the origin of Shipin and expand aesthetic horizons;this philosophical secret not only exists in the classics of the Six Dynasties,it has its unity,graphics and vitality,as well as its historical inheritance and continuous operation.Its trajectory marks the context of literary theory and aesthetics;the modern construction of contemporary literary theory must be based on its operating trends.Only by transcending all utilitarianism can we better demonstrate the natural characteristics of Chinese tradition such as nationality.Otherwise,literary theory,aesthetics,and philosophy will not be self-consistent.

The Research on the Battle of Yanmen Pass

During the war between Liao Dynasty(907-1125)and Northern Song Dynasty(960-1127),there was a classic battle that happened in Yanmen Pass(located in today’s Dai County,Xinzhou,Shanxi Province,China).It was a well known battle of ancient China because a commander of the Song army named Yang Ye(?-986)was really famous in both classical Chinese fictions and Chinese war history.He is the early protagonist of a famous Chinese classic fiction named The Romance of the Yang family’s generals(written in the 16th century,Ming Dynasty of China).The story of his family also appears in other novels.Besides,in history,he was a general who was active in the early stages of the war between Liao Dynasty and Northern Song Dynasty.The battle of Yanmen Pass(980)was one of the most important battles of Yang’s military career.His combat style especially his cavalry tactic can be summarized through researching this battle.

Mycobacterium gordoniasis of the cervical lymph nodes:A case report

BACKGROUND Owing to the advancement in bacterial identification techniques,the detection rate of non-tuberculous mycobacterium(NTM)has been on the rise.Different from Mycobacterium tuberculosis,the clinical symptoms of NTM are not easily detected,and the clinical efficacy and prognosis are somewhat heterogeneous.To report a case of Mycobacterium gordoniasis of cervical lymph node diagnosed in Anhui Chest Hospital in July 2022.CASE SUMMARY Upon examination,the patient who weighed 67.5 kg,was human immunodeficiency virus negative,healthy,without hypertension,diabetes,heart disease and other basic diseases microscopic analysis revealed granulomatous inflammation with coagulation necrosis in the lymphocyte,and tuberculosis was not ruled out.Plain computed tomography scans of the neck and chest indicated the presence of a single grayish-yellow and grayish-brown tissue,the dimensions of which was top of form 10.5 cm×3.0 cm×1.5 cm.After pathological consultation in our hospital,the diagnosis was confirmed as NTM infection.CONCLUSION This case report and the clinical epidemiological research on improving NTM have important guiding significance for improving decision-making in clinical treatments.

A Set of Acupuncture Needles in the Late Qing Dynasty Collected by George Souliéde Morant

In the early 20th century,French vice-consul George Souliéde Morant encountered acupuncture during his visit to China,and then brought it back to France.After more than a century,his collection was transported from Paris,France to Kunming,China,and later recognized as a Chinese national third-class precious cultural heritage.Currently housed in the Museum of Western Studies on Chinese Medicine at Yunnan University of Chinese Medicine,this set of instruments includes one needle holder converted from a fan-shaped holder,ten acupuncture needles,and eleven paper tags handwritten in English with names of diseases and body parts.This article attempts to present the foundational information and historical significance of this collection of this set of late Qing dynasty acupuncture instruments by reviewing the collection and related research on acupuncture instruments,consulting acupuncture professionals,measuring the detailed information of the set of instruments,and employing a method of translating and summarizing the content of the attached tags.

Exploring the Applications of Digital Twin Technology in Enhancing Sustainability in Civil Engineering:A Review

With the advent of the big data era and the rise of Industrial Revolution 4.0,digital twins(DTs)have gained sig-nificant attention in various industries.DTs offer the opportunity to combine the physical and digital worlds and aid the digital transformation of the civil engineering industry.In this paper,605 documents obtained from the search werefirst analysed using CiteSpace for literature visualisation,and an author co-occurrence network,a keyword co-occurrence network,and a keyword clustering set were obtained.Next,through a literature review of 86 papers,this paper summarises the current status of DT application in civil engineering based on a review of the origins,concepts,and implementation techniques of DTs,and it introduces the application of DTs in the full project lifecycle.This study shows that DTs have great potential to address many of the challenges faced by civil engineering.In this regard,the paper also presents some thoughts on the future directions of DT research.

Therapeutic Communication Methods Targeting Families and Family Members: A Literature Review

Background and Purpose: Therapeutic communication is a new term in family health care nursing, defined by Hohashi (2019) as a method of family intervention, and characterized by inclusion of not only verbal conversation but also nonverbal interaction. However, specific therapeutic communication methods have not been systematized. The purpose of this study was to clarify therapeutic communication methods for families/family members from the perspectives of verbal communication and non-verbal communication through a review of existing literature. Methods: We conducted a search using the medical literature databases PubMed and Ichushi-Web using the keywords “therapeutic communication”. Analysis was performed on seven articles from PubMed and 14 articles from Ichushi-Web that described therapeutic communication methods performed by healthcare professionals for families/family members. Through directed content analysis, therapeutic communication methods were subcategorized, and classified into three categories: verbal communication, non-verbal communication, and verbal/non-verbal communication. Results: A total of 23 subcategories were extracted. Verbal communication included 11 subcategories, such as “asking questions using the communicatee’s words as they are”. Non-verbal communication included five subcategories, such as “noticing changes in the content of the communicatee’s story”. And verbal/non-verbal communication featured seven subcategories, such as “making the communicatee aware of one’s own beliefs”. Conclusion: Therapeutic communication methods included basic care/caring in family interviews/meetings, as well as verbal communication and non-verbal communication that act on family/family members’ beliefs. It is believed that changes in family/family members’ beliefs can be used to eliminate, reduce, or improve problematic conditions in the family. .

Periorbital purpura can be the only initial symptom of primary light chain amyloidosis:A case report

BACKGROUND Primary light chain amyloidosis is a rare and complex disease with complex clinical features and is highly susceptible to misdiagnosis and underdiagnosis in the early stages.CASE SUMMARY We report a case of a 47-year-old female patient whose only initial symptom was periorbital purpura,which was not taken seriously enough.As the disease progressed,pleural effusion gradually appeared,and after systematic diagnosis and treatment,she was diagnosed with“primary light chain amyloidosis”.She achieved rapid hematological remission after treatment with a daratumumab+bortezomib+cyclophosphamide+dexamethasone regimen.CONCLUSION Periorbital purpura can be the only initial symptom of primary light chain amyloidosis;we should pay attention to the cases where the initial clinical symptoms are only periorbital purpura.

An Overview of the Achievements of Modern Research on the Flying Shadow Pavilion Pictorial

The current academic research on the Dian Shi Zhai Pictorial founded in 1884 has been perfected,but there is very little research on the Flying Shadow Pavilion Pictorial,which can be said to be derived from Dian Shi Zhai Pictorial terms of both content and form,and which was founded by the Haiist painter Wu Youru in 1890 in order to reward the increasing number of admirers,but it is still in the initial stage.Flying Shadow Pavilion Pictorial consisted of four parts:pictures of ladies in Shanghai costumes,news about current affairs,pictures of animals,and compilations of women,each of which was accompanied by the then popular notebooks,which were popular at the time among the then readers because of the matching of pictures with text and the mixing of narratives and discussions.This paper takes Flying Shadow Pavilion Pictorial as the main object,summarizes the existing literature about Flying Shadow Pavilion Pictorial,points out the deficiencies of the current research on this basis,and points out the development trend of Flying Shadow Pavilion Pictorial in the future research.

Evaluation of the Effect of Assessment Method Reform in “Nursing Research” Course

Objective:This paper aims to evaluate the implementation effect of the diversified course assessment method reform.Methods:A diversified assessment method was implemented for 196 undergraduate nursing students.Students’mastery of key knowledge in“Nursing Research”was assessed through group reports on topic selection and literature retrieval,as well as the proposition level of the final examination.Results:81.6%of the students agreed with the course assessment method,and 97.9%believed studying“Nursing Research”would be helpful for future scientific research applications.Conclusion:Diversified assessment methods can help improve undergraduate nursing students’scientific research skills and comprehensive quality.

Syphilitic uveitis in HIV-positive patients: report of a case series, treatment outcomes, and comprehensive review of the literature

AIM:To report the clinical characteristics,treatment and outcomes of active syphilitic uveitis in human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)positive patients and compare them with the previously published data.METHODS:Retrospective analysis of the case series from an infectious disease center in southern China was conducted.Comprehensive review of previously published cases of HIV positive syphilitic uveitis was conducted using the PubMed and Web of Science databases and the references listed in the identified articles.RESULTS:Twelve HIV positive patients with active syphilitic uveitis were collected.All were male,with age of 36.3y(range 27 to 53y).Five(41.7%)had a history of syphilis,and three of them had received anti-syphilis treatment.Ocular manifestations included corneal epithelial defect(13%),complicated cataract(17.4%),vitreous opacity(82.6%),optic disc edema(26.1%),macular edema(30.4%),neuro-retinitis(43.5%),and retinal hemorrhage(26.1%).After standardized syphilitic treatment,intraocular inflammation was reduced and vision improved in all cases.The literature review summarizes 105 previously reported cases of HIV positive syphilitic uveitis.High serum rapid plasma regain(RPR)titers may be associated with severe uveitis and poor vision.Treatment with penicillin,ceftriaxone sodium,or penicillin plus benzylpenicillin instead of using benzylpenicillin alone can significantly improve bestcorrected visual acuity(BCVA)in HIV positive ocular syphilis patients.CONCLUSION:For HIV positive syphilitic uveitis patients,prompt diagnosis and appropriate treatment and follow-up are paramount.In our series,the clinical manifestations are diverse.Syphilis patients treated by penicillin G or long-acting penicillin before may still develop syphilitic uveitis.Patients who relapse after long-term penicillin treatment can still benefit from penicillin G.

The Economic Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Healthcare: A Literature Review

Background: This review delves into the effects of artificial intelligence (AI) on healthcare, which is a crucial aspect considering the increasing costs of healthcare worldwide. While there is potential for AI to enhance healthcare delivery and efficiency, there are still uncertainties surrounding its effectiveness, value, and broader adoption. This comprehensive literature review aims to explore and synthesize existing knowledge on the economic impact of AI in healthcare. The primary objective of this review is to understand the potential cost savings and efficiency improvements associated with the deployment of AI in healthcare settings. By highlighting the economic implications of AI, this review seeks to offer insights into the value proposition of investing in AI technologies for stakeholders such as healthcare providers, payers, and policymakers. Methods: To conduct this review, we conducted a search of literature from 2020 to 2023 across three databases: PubMed, Scopus and Google Scholar. We specifically focused on studies that discuss the impacts of AI in healthcare and include cost evaluations, using combinations of keywords related to AI, economics, healthcare, and cost evaluation. The inclusion criteria were studies that conducted some form of economic evaluation related to AI in healthcare settings, while exclusion criteria were studies without a cost evaluation component. Data extraction and quality assessment using the CASP checklist were undertaken on the final set of included studies. Results: After screening studies, we identified 10 out of a total of 28 studies and reports that met our criteria of outlining any form of economic impact and evaluation of AI in healthcare settings. Based on our findings, implementing AI in healthcare could potentially lead to cost savings. Several studies suggest savings ranging from $200 billion to $360 billion in the United States alone. The use of AI in healthcare sectors such as ophthalmology, radiology and disease screening has shown positive economic impacts. Conclusion: While AI has potential for cost savings and efficiency improvements, in healthcare settings, it’s crucial to conduct detailed context specific cost evaluations to optimize the adoption and implementation strategies of AI.

Systematic Review of Literature for Smartphones Technology Acceptance Using Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology Model (UTAUT)

Systematic Review and Meta-analysis are techniques which attempt to associate the findings from similar studies and deliver quantitative summaries of the research literature [1]. The Systematic review of research literature identifies the common research methods, research design, sample size, parameters used, survey instruments, etc. used by the group of researchers. This study intends to fulfill this purpose in order to identify common research mythologies, dependent variables, sample sizes, moderators and mediators used in the field of analysing technology adoption based studies that utilizes the UTAUT2 model. This research collected over 59 published articles and conducted descriptive analytics. The results have revealed performance expectancy/perceived usefulness, trust and habit as the best predictors of consumer behavioural intentions towards the adoption of mobile application. Behavioural intention was the best predictor of use behaviour among the 57 articles selected. 274 was the mean sample size of research with 25 mean questionnaire items. SPSS and AMOS were the most common softwares used in all 57 studies, and 32 of those studies used UTAUT1 model while 14 researches incorporated the UTAUT2 model. There were also two promising predictors such as perceived risk on behavioural intention and habit on use behaviour.
