Yangming’s Yixue had been developed several times in his life since originated in Longchang.Yangming’s Yixue and his Xinxue are both sides of the same corn. The Yangming’s Yixue can be roughly divided into two periods. There were the early and middle period of Yangming’s Yixue, which is intended to explain the principles of Yi Zhuan(《易传》)with the theory of Xinxue. The finish of Yangming’s Yixue was a second stage in Yangming’s later years. From the perspective of form and content, there are differences that cannot be ignored between Yangming’s early and middle period and his later years. In the first stage of Yangming’s study, the“Virtuousness”(贞)in Book of Changes is the principle and nature in university. In the later period,Yangming had not focused on interpreting the“Yi Zhuan”,but on the interpretation of ZhouYi’s(《周易》)principles to supplement the connotation of the propositions of Xinxue. This article intends to understand the relationship between Yangming’s Yixue and his Xinxue by dividing the different stages of Yangming’s Yixue firstly. Then by focusing on the influence of Yangming’s later years’Yixue on his Xinxue,we can observe the relation between his Yixue and Xinxue. 展开更多

Mandatory and restrictive health regulations during the corona pandemic caused psychic disorders in many people, which even led to clinically relevant mental disorders. At the same time, there was gradually a polarization of opinions among the population. In order to improve future pandemic management,an integrative understanding of these psychosocial processes therefore seems useful. Here we start theoretically with the mental effects of inconsistencies of the information environment by referring to concepts such as the theory of cognitive dissonance. In a next step,we use the psychodynamic theory to understand the affective-motivational defense mechanisms underlying these cognitive states and processes. However,a broader theoretical framework of psychoanalysis seems to make sense, because self-referential processing also influences the style of thinking. For this reason,we use a more comprehensive psychological systems theoretical framework model to integrate these different perspectives. This integrative view refers in part to basic knowledge of health psychology regarding the resistance of unhealthy ways of thinking and behaviors and the possibilities for interventions for change. We then extend this model to a broader picture that also covers the relationship between men and their environment. This results in the perspective of a multidimensional socioecological theoretical framework, which as a heuristic reference model and related to other ecological approaches could also be helpful for various theoretical questions for public health, and could provide a better public understanding of health issues. In line with this perspective,we hypothesize that with regard to the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic, the acceptance of public health narratives could be increased if a more consistent picture of the scientific descriptions and explanations of the pandemic-similar to the model proposed-could be provided, which would enable the understanding of the origin, course and countermeasures, and thus could have positive collective psycho-hygienic effects. 展开更多

Since India's philosophical discussion on the correlation between the mind and the body, the goal achieved through practice has been imbued with much meaning under the influences of yoga. Self-transcendence can be reached through self-discipline that is founded upon the fundamental change and potential for existential practice. The mind and the body do not comprise a binary relationship but instead maintain an intimate relationship bound by the medium of organic energy of breathing, breath, and pr^0a. Of these medium that form the relationship, the pr^-0a has a natural healing tendency, which has been well documented within classics such as Upani.sads and Bhagavad G^ta. Classic yoga explains that pr^0a imbues within it a vivacious passion and energy that will connect the human body with the human mind. Thus, the pr^0a functions as bio-energy. From ancient Indian philosophy to Buddhism, yoga therapy actively utilizes practice as a main element. In particular, the Patafijali yoga's methodology details the organic correlation within its eight limbs (支) yoga practices. The prana is breath. This is the only sense in which Patafijali has used this word. Breath is called prana because it moves on continuously throughout the body and reaches the basic circle of the individual self. It pervades mouth, nostrils, heart, navel region and toes. As a result, it is a healing method that achieves far more than the scientific healing methods common in society. 展开更多

At present, emancipating the mind has changed from a significant movement of ideological and theoretical reform initiated at a special historical moment in human society to an inherent requirement and organic constituent of social development that has been regularized, universalized, routinized and normalized. It is the condensed embodiment of the tension and conflict between the determinate and the creative, the natural and the transcendental in the structure of human existence. Its dynamic and constraining mechanisms are specifically manifested as the tension and conflict between innovative and conservative ideas, open and closed ways of thinking, and modern and traditional cultural patterns. In the course of a new emancipation of our thinking, we should not only actively promote specific emancipation of the mind on every level and in every sphere, but also highlight the establishment of mechanisms and institutions for such emancipation, and especially the formation of a mechanism for cultural innovation. We must create an institutional culture that respects different ideas; establish a mindset that is open, tolerant, creative and cherishes difference; and cultivate a cultural model that respects individuality and innovation. 展开更多

Style of study is a fundamental prerequisite for studies of Marxist philosophy. A Marxist way of study requires firstly taking up the standpoint of the masses; secondly, an unwavering attitude of emancipating the mind, seeking truth from facts and progressing with the times; and thirdly, consciously espousing the method of joining theory and practice. Building up Chinese-style socialism is the greatest reality in China and is the locus of the fundamental interest of the mass of the people. It is the requirement and actualization of the principle of "emancipating the mind, seeking truth from facts and progressing with the time." It is the historical mission of Marxist philosophical studies to serve the practice of Chinese-style socialism. 展开更多

Emancipating the mind is a magic weapon for developing socialism with Chinese characteristics. The unity between emancipating the mind and seeking truth from facts and the unity between the guidance of Marxism and theoretical innovation underlie its three features: the objective or scientific principle, the innovative or progressive principle and the principle of affinity with the people or the principle of Party spirit. Emancipating the mind is, in essence, a question of how to put this into practice. In persisting in emancipating the mind we must make efforts to eliminate interference from both "Left" and Right ideologies. 展开更多

PHILOSOPHY and PSYCHIATRY are unusual bedfellows.Medical students, already hard pressed for time, are generally thrust into the melee of mental disorders, having spent years focussing on first dissecting and then prodding human bodies, which too often leaves little room for evaluating theories about human nature, especially with respect to“Intent”or Free Will. The present writer was unusual in that having spent two years in pre-clinical medical training,he devoted a full university year to pursuing philosophical studies in up to 20 different university departments. Thus he entered his teaching hospital with a working knowledge of Hume,Kant,Sartre,Wittgenstein,Buber and others. This is not a clinical paper-it focuses on the reasoning behind psychiatric precepts-so it is perhaps inevitable that today’s prevailing ideology is shown to be grievously wanting-a case of decidedly unphilosophical, even anti-philosophical,medical practice. The notion of there ever being a“scientific”theory of psychiatry has already been discounted in a series of earlier papers-which leaves us with the responsibility for choosing the best possible option, from an infinite number of theoretical models available. The paper provides a whistle-stop tour of how mental disease looks if you start with a confident and consistent look at that pinnacle of human attributes-consciousness.It doesn’t presume to say what consciousness is,but it does assume that it has a function, like every other human asset.Indeed by cutting corners, evaluating what has worked over 60 years in psychiatry, the result is as straightforward a picture of sanity as one can reasonably expect. As such,it leaves the reader with little wriggle room-there is enough clarity here, for you to accept or reject the main proposition. However, since the flaws described tend to be lethal, acceptance entails action. Now read on. 展开更多

The history of China's reform and opening up are at the same time the history of the theoretical exploration of the Sinicization of Marxism. The in-depth movement of emancipating the mind represents a great leap ahead for both the practice and the theory of socialism with Chinese characteristics. The great practice of three decades of reform and opening up has given us a store of valuable historical experience and provided a practical and scientific foundation for the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Reform and opening up are a tremendous impetus to socialism with Chinese characteristics. To adhere to this theoretical system is in effect to adhere to the viewpoint of the emancipation of the mind, seeking truth from facts and the productive forces criterion, as well as to the scientific concept of development and the correct outlook on reform. Taking this theoretical system as our guide is of the utmost importance for further reform and opening up and the development of socialism with Chinese characteristics. 展开更多
