The Use of Virtual Learning Environment in Chinese Higher Education

The paper analyzes the current condition of the use of virtual learning environment(VLE) in Zhejiang University of Chinese Medicine. It is indicated that students show a positive attitude toward this technology, but the use of it fails to meet students' perception. In light of this, recommendations are made with a view to enhance the use of VLE.

Research and Practice of Moral Education in Higher Mathematics Teaching in the New Era

This paper first analyses the reasons for the low effectiveness of moral education in the current higher mathematics teaching,and then puts forward the contents,methods,and approaches of integrating moral education into higher mathematics teaching in the new era on this basis,and finally finds out the points for attention in the integration of moral education in higher mathematics teaching in the new era.Theoretically,the moral education content is innovated.We should set up the moral education idea of students as the foundation and moral education as the first,establish the attainable goals of moral education in different stages and levels,excavate the moral education resources contained in the current real life and social hot spots,and pay attention to the inheritance and enlightenment of Chinese excellent traditional culture,especially the mathematical culture and history in moral education.In practice,the moral education methods are improved and the moral education approaches are broadened.Moral education methods should be close to reality and life,should adapt to students’personality and hobbies,and should be diversified.Moral education can be carried out by improving the working mechanism of moral education management,publicity,and so on,strengthening the construction of moral education team and creating an atmosphere of full staff education.

The Influence of Confucius＇ Moral Standards on Wellbeing of Academics in Higher Education in China in the Context of the Chinese Dream

The Chinese Dream, adopted by General Secretary Xi Jinping, was used and spread in China. It is about Chinese prosperity, collective effort, socialism and national glory. It is also about the welfare, wellbeing, and quality of life of every Chinese. Academics in higher education in China are facing changes both across the globe and in China, they must take the challenges. This paper does research on wellbeing of the academics from the aspects of the definition of wellbeing, the situation both in the world and in China, the Chinese concept of happiness, the possible influence of Confucius moral standards on wellbeing of Chinese. This paper may help school leaders implement policies that foster effective work environment in the new era in China.

The Future Is Here： m-Learning in Higher Education

The way we learn has changed dramatically in the new millennium. The introduction of e-learning in higher education in the late 1990s has opened Pandora＇s Box, and brought radical changes in the way where undergraduate and postgraduate programs are designed and delivered. The rapid developments and popularity ofhandheld devices such as smart phones and tablet PCs using wireless networks and mobile Intemet have marked new developments in higher education, introducing the so-called mobile leaming （m-learning）. This means that university students can have access to their studies related content, anytime, anywhere in a personalized manner; this is what renders m-learning so popular and fashionable among university students globally. Nevertheless, instructors are now challenged as they have to adopt new pedagogies in learning and teaching. This paper discusses the concept of m-learning, as well as the current developments and challenges related to the major stakeholders （educators and students） in higher education.

Phronesis and Transformative Learning： A Joint Challenge for Moral Philosophy and Educational Theory

Strengthening moral learning may become available to us by bringing phronesis and transformative learning in a common theoretical space. For both Aristotle and Mezirow, the exercise of morality, or rising to the standard of moral choice, decision, and action, is not the result of an intuitive achievement or a sudden understanding of a morally demanding situation but a lifelong affair. Our strategy here addresses three aims： Firstly, to invoke and reclaim the endemic bond between education in the broader sense of paideia and the significant role that reeds to be re-ascribed to moral education. This allows a turn towards qualitative features and makes room for an inclusion of moral education, or values education, within education. Secondly, to portray the exercise of autonomy, choice, and judgment as a result of paideutic development; both theories share the assumption that moral learning rests on constant reflection upon past experiences and the zetesis of future goals. Thirdly, to focus on the way one reclaims the right to exercise judgment, whenever this is required. A joint study of the two theories may enlighten the content of this lifelong reflective procedure.

Application of Bandura's Social Learning Theory in the Moral Education of Secondary Vocational College Students

In recent years,with the high rate of juvenile delinquency,people pay more attention to the moral education of students in secondary vocational colleges.Based on the framework of social learning theory,this paper explores the systematic and comprehensive application of social learning theory in the moral education course.From the cognition of the behavior to the selection and internalization of the representation of the model behavior,and finally the selective extemalization of the representation symbol to generate the behavior,the influencing factors and their utility in each stage of the production of moral behavior are analyzed step by step,assisting students to establish correct outlook on life and values,and cultivating their"key abilities."When students face a complex and diverse social environment,they can make judgments in line with the general moral standards of the society,and then seek to improve the effectiveness of the moral standards of secondary vocational students,and strive to maximize the effectiveness of moral education.

Evaluation of Technical Education by Using a Modern Structured MOODLE Laboratory Course, in Relation to Recent Data

E-learning platforms support education systems worldwide, transferring theoretical knowledge as well as soft skills. In the present study high-school pupils’, and adult students’ opinions were evaluated through a modern structured MOODLE interactive course, designed for the needs of the laboratory course “Automotive Systems”. The study concerns Greek secondary vocational education pupils aged 18 and vocational training adult students aged 20 to 50 years. The multistage, equal size simple random cluster sample was used as a sampling method. Pupils and adult students of each cluster completed structured 10-question questionnaires both before and after attending the course. A total of 120 questionnaires were collected. In general, our findings disclosed that the majority of pupils and adult students had significantly improved their knowledge and skills from using MOODLE. They reported strengthening conventional teaching, using the new MOODLE technology. The satisfaction indices improved quite, with the differences in their mean values being statistically significant.

Morality should be taught as a compulsory course in higher education

From the tragedy of campus shooting in United States to animal tortures of Chinese college student,the morality and the effect it can have on the young people is arresting all the time.There are several aims which participants in the higher educational process.They may demonstrate as the aims about which they are concerned.Such aims,sometimes,may be referred to not as they were particular aims in the educational process but the proper aims of higher education itself.The aims of higher education may vary.It may be claimed that the aim of higher education is to develop the potential of all individuals or to education is to develop the potential of all individuals or to educate the whole man.So how do we understand the education of the"whole man"?It is obviously a phrase which can easily catch eyeballs.I think that it includes the concept which various aspects of human nature must be cultivated for,intellectual and imaginative,rational and emotional,or as it sometimes expressed,physical,mental,moral and spiritual.Someone argues that morality plays an important role in shaping lives and values of children,but not adults.In this paper,the author will discuss whether morality should be taught in college.

A Study on English Reading Teaching With Cooperative Learning By Means of Task-Based Teaching in Higher Vocational Education

Higher Vocational Education(HVE) is an important component of higher education in our country.The English Curriculum Standard of HVE considers promoting the students' reading comprehension as one of the most important goals in English teaching.Task-based CL emphasizes the importance of education as a vehicle for teaching citizens to live cooperatively in a social democracy and teachers are not the only sources of knowledge and students should be able to help each other and learn in an interdependent way.The heart of cooperative learning is student-centered.Therefore,task-based CL can overcome the shortcomings in traditional teaching models,and the goal of improving reading comprehension can be achieved for the teachers of reading by realizing the mental process of reading comprehension and how prior knowledge can enhance a reader's interaction with the text through CL.This thesis consists of five parts.Part one,two and three briefly introduces the background and significance of the study,definitions and models of cooperative learning and reading comprehension.Part four and five are the key sections of the thesis,which introduces the hypotheses,subjects,instrument,procedure of the study and the analysis of the results of the study.Part five draws the conclusion of the study.

Comparison of Higher Education between China and New Zealand in Learning

At present,many students finish high school and enroll the university education.University learning is very important education part in students'life,they are thinking about themselves,improve their identity and values,change their aims,produce knowledge and take skills into the future life and working.University offer different courses to learn,they interest in Arts,Commence and Science and satisfy all students'needs.There is an increasing number of Chinese students choose to study in New Zealand because they believe it is a safe place,it is cheaper than the other countries,and because New Zealand is an English speaking country.Most of the New Zealand universities offer foundation courses which give international students the opportunity to bring their English language skills and academic performance up to university entrance standard.This study is to find out Chinese and New Zealand higher education with some different aspects from curriculum,learning environment and evaluation.

Artificial Intelligence Techniques Based Learner Authentication in Cybersecurity Higher Education Institutions

Education 4.0 is being authorized more and more by the design of artificial intelligence(AI)techniques.Higher education institutions(HEI)have started to utilize Internet technologies to improve the quality of the service and boost knowledge.Due to the unavailability of information technology(IT)infrastructures,HEI is vulnerable to cyberattacks.Biometric authentication can be used to authenticate a person based on biological features such as face,fingerprint,iris,and so on.This study designs a novel search and rescue optimization with deep learning based learning authentication technique for cybersecurity in higher education institutions,named SRODLLAC technique.The proposed SRODL-LAC technique aims to authenticate the learner/student in HEI using fingerprint biometrics.Besides,the SRODLLACtechnique designs a median filtering(MF)based preprocessing approach to improving the quality of the image.In addition,the Densely Connected Networks(DenseNet-77)model is applied for the extraction of features.Moreover,search and rescue optimization(SRO)algorithm with deep neural network(DNN)model is utilized for the classification process.Lastly,template matching process is done for fingerprint identification.A wide range of simulation analyses is carried out and the results are inspected under several aspects.The experimental results reported the effective performance of the SRODL-LAC technique over the other methodologies.

The COVID-19 Pandemic and Higher Education: Common Interdisciplinary Issues and Lessons Learned

Background: Coronavirus-19 (COVID-19) dramatically impacted institutions of higher education. The effect was acute in the practice disciplines such as medicine, medical laboratory science, and nursing. The purpose is to describe how an interdisciplinary team, led by nursing faculty, adapted to the changes driven by COVID-19 and the lessons that were learned for nursing and other disciplines in higher education. Method: The interdisciplinary group created a comprehensive list which captured the impact of COVID-19 on their academic disciplines. Similarities and differences between the disciplines regarding faculty experiences, teaching, and responding to student concerns were discovered. Results: Collective review resulted in the identification of four inclusive thematic categories and several sub-categories. These were: academic considerations (didactic, lab, clinical), perceptions (faculty, student), ethical considerations, and social determinants affecting the learning environment. Lessons Learned: This project utilized an innovative interdisciplinary approach to identify common COVID-19 effects on higher education. Conclusions: Nursing and other health-related disciplines should pursue interdisciplinary collaboration to address common academic issues that arise during the COVID.

The Management of Digital Transformation in Higher Education:An Assessment Proposal

The impacts of the current digital era are growing more and more on the way in which higher education(HE)offers learning programs at every level.Smart learning(SL)represents the evolution of educational approaches and techniques that capitalizes on all the opportunities deriving from new digital ecosystems.This study argues that the usefulness of HE can benefit from rethinking the traditional active learning(AL)model to smart ones.Thus,this research aims at investigating how to adapt the performance evaluation when the operations of HE turn to digitalized models.Therefore,this paper designs a research approach that allows accounting for the effects that the adoption of some SL strategies and tools has on the engagement of students and the aggregate performance of HE programs that adopt AL.The results of this study would help academics and HE managers assess the effectiveness of SL initiatives they plan to adopt.

As higher education institutions(HEIs)go online,several benefits are attained,and also it is vulnerable to several kinds of attacks.To accomplish security,this paper presents artificial intelligence based cybersecurity intrusion detection models to accomplish security.The incorporation of the strategies into business is a tendency among several distinct industries,comprising education,have recognized as game changer.Consequently,the HEIs are highly related to the requirement and knowledge of the learner,making the education procedure highly effective.Thus,artificial intelligence(AI)and machine learning(ML)models have shown significant interest in HEIs.This study designs a novel Artificial Intelligence based Cybersecurity Intrusion Detection Model for Higher Education Institutions named AICIDHEI technique.The goal of the AICID-HEI technique is to determine the occurrence of distinct kinds of intrusions in higher education institutes.The AICID-HEI technique encompassesmin-max normalization approach to preprocess the data.Besides,the AICID-HEI technique involves the design of improved differential evolution algorithm based feature selection(IDEA-FS)technique is applied to choose the feature subsets.Moreover,the bidirectional long short-term memory(BiLSTM)model is utilized for the detection and classification of intrusions in the network.Furthermore,the Adam optimizer is applied for hyperparameter tuning to properly adjust the hyperparameters in higher educational institutions.In order to validate the experimental results of the proposed AICID-HEI technique,the simulation results of the AICIDHEI technique take place by the use of benchmark dataset.The experimental results reported the betterment of the AICID-HEI technique over the other methods interms of different measures.

Dual Education in the Republic of Serbia

The paper presents dual education as one of the priorities of the government of the Republic of Serbia in the field of education,youth employment,and economic development.The definition of dual education as a part of the system of education and training through theoretical teaching and work-based learning with the employer is given.The paper presents the results of the introduction of dual education in secondary schools so far:About 10,038 students are included;the number of dual educational profiles is 47,while the number of companies participating in the implementation of work-based learning reached 900.The paper presents and sets the goals of the dual model of higher education studies.The role of key institutions,organizations,and bodies that participate in the implementation of the dual model of education in the Republic of Serbia is explained.

Can University Be a Transformative Environment？ Fostering Critical Reflection Through Art in Higher Education＊

The uncertainty of postmodern world is a common belief. This uncertainty influences citizens in all aspects of their lives （personal, professional, social, etc.）. The question arises intensively： How can people be prepared for this continuous changing？ One of the suggestions presented in current literature is the development of critical reflection Educational environment can play a major role in this domain. The need for the development of critical reflection is especially noted in the higher education framework. Universities can become a ＂holding＂ environment for transformation. This study underlines the importance of preparing young students as future professionals and citizens, by developing their critical reflection. A practical method is discussed and concerns the use and benefits of the aesthetic experience in a transformative learning procedure. The research presented here is based on the application of this method and aims to the reinforcement of specific dimensions of adulthood in a university environment. The application was carried out on students of the department of educational studies at a Greek regional university. One of the topics analyzed through art was the notion of ＂useful knowledge＂ and was part of a wider range of applications that concern the process of learning

The Psycho-Pedagogical Monitoring Research and the Problems of the Quality of Requirements in the Current Educational System

Nowadays, we face many obstacles connected with the high quality education. This sphere forces us to implement new methods and approaches in everyday learning process. The following academic research done on psycho-pedagogical sphere in higher education showed that the enhancement in the educational system is developing slowly because of the lack of research. By all means, it is the right time to follow the objectives and try to develop and suggest the current teaching process using technology that of course will be based on the development of quality control and thesaurus-agency approaches. As mentioned in Bolkan and Goodboy, their research showed that teachers who promote intellectual stimulation empower and enrich students both cognitive and affective getting knowledge and experience process in the classroom. The main objective of current experiment is that it suggests intellectual stimulation which is linked to intrinsic motivation, and that intrinsic motivation has all the advantages to influence students＇ use of effective studying behaviors. According to Dunlosky, Marsh, Nathan, Willingham and Rawson, there are specific techniques which can influence on the overall process of higher education.
