Preliminary Study on Overseas Applicability of Chinese Architectural Design Standards:Taking China-Aided Construction Projects in Asia Since the Belt and Road Initiative as Examples

This research takes China-aided construction projects in Asia since the Belt and Road Initiative as examples to explore the applicability of Chinese architectural design standards in other Asian countries.So far,the standards demonstrated the highest applicability in South Asia is the best followed by Southeast Asia.Chinese architectural design standards for educational buildings showed the highest applicability,followed by office,medical,and sports buildings.This study puts forward some strategies to improve the applicability of Chinese architectural design standards.These strategies include integrating regionalism and local cultural traditions,optimizing energy efficiency,and aligning designs with local usage habits.This study serves as a reference for similar projects in the future.

Study of the Application of Expansive Cement in Building Construction

A China’s construction industry continues to develop,the amount of building construction has increased significantly,and construction technology has been continuously advancing.In particular,the application of expansive cement in building construction is becoming more popular.The correct use of construction technologies can not only speed up the progress of the construction project,but also reduce the project cost significantly.In this paper,the application of expansive cement building construction is discussed in detail,and the solutions of related problems are proposed.

Research on Quality Management Measures of Green Building Construction

Urbanization has led to the rapid development of the construction industry.However,this has also led to higher requirements for the construction engineering management.Other than the quality monitoring of engineering construction,the energy-saving properties of the building should also be considered.Therefore,a scientific management approach should be adopted to improve green building management.This paper primarily examines the importance of quality management in green building construction,along with the factors influencing it.It also identifies the quality issues present in current green building construction.Finally,it proposes measures for quality management in the green building construction process to facilitate the industry’s healthy development.

Teaching Reform of Building Construction Course under the Background of New Digital Technology

With the advent of the information age,all walks of life have paid more and more attention to the development and application of digital technology.At the same time,the construction industry,which is a traditionally important industry,is not an exception.A series of high-tech digital technologies have been widely used in architectural design and construction,such as BIM technology,3D printing technology,and VR technology.In view of the teaching link of architectural talent training,it is necessary to keep up with the development trend of the digital age,integrate these three kinds of technology into architectural teaching,and impart knowledge to students from planar 2D textbooks to 3D visual digital models,and further transform it from 3D digital to physical perceive or virtual simulation level,and reform teaching methods in all dimensions and in all dimensions to improve teaching effect.In this paper,the feasibility and necessity of integration of the above three architectural digital techniques into the teaching process of"building construction"from the aspects of teaching content,teaching method and teaching evaluation were discussed,and a new teaching model under the background of digital technology was proposed,which has certain teaching reference significance.

Research on Systematic Analysis and Countermeasures of the Buildings Construction Safety Problems

The buildings construction safety problems contain various safety-hidden dangers that caused by the human unsafe behaviors,the substance unsafe conditions,operation environment unsafe factors and management defects.The authors summarize comprehensively the problems of buildings construction safety in China at present based on grasping the whole safety status of buildings construction,and the synthetic countermeasures including the systems about laws,management,technology and education civilization for buildings construction safety management are brought up based on the viewpoint of safety system theory.Then it is thought that building scientific management mechanisms and popularizing effective management methods and measures are the fundamental ways for improving further the level of safety management for buildings construction in China at present.

The Contributions of Building Information Modelling to Sustainable Construction

Global concerns toward environmental issues have induced growing demand for new approaches in the construction because of its considerable impact on the environment and use of natural resources. Through using construction sustainability tools, methods and techniques, a greener design can be applied during various building phases. In this connection, it is argued that the analytical and integrated models applied by Building Information Modelling (BIM) may also facilitate this process to be performed more efficiently. BIM and construction sustainability are quite different initiatives, but both have received much attention in recent years in the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry. A rigorous analysis of the interactions between them implies that a synergy exists which, if properly it is understood that can be helpful to reduce the environmental impacts of the AEC industry. A BIM-based design model can contribute to sustainability through its three main dimensions which are environmental, economic and social. In this paper, by reviewing the existing literature on BIM and construction sustainability and using a matrix to analyze construction sustainability dimensions and BIM functionalities a number of interactions have been discussed. It can be concluded that despite there are many improvements in implementation of BIM in environmental and economic aspects of sustainability, its potential impact on social dimension has not been explicitly explored hence further studies need to be undertaken in this area.

A Case Study of VäxjöMunicipality’s Actions to Increase the Construction of Wooden Multi-family Buildings

Sweden has a housing shortage,which the Swedish authorities expect to continue until 2025.Producers of wooden multi-family houses have a relatively small market share in comparison to traditional building materials.The limited capability to fulfil the increased building demand also restricts the possibilities for development towards innovation,bio-economy and sustainability.The municipalities in Sweden have responsible for planning of the building development in their region based on their projected requirements and strategies.Combining this with a desire to develop sustainable building solutions based on wood increases the complexity.Currently,public building developments are achieved through the public procurement act or the land allocation activity,dependent on their development strategy.This normally involves the development of local strategies regarding,e.g.design,material choice and geographical development.By identifying market drivers enables improved market entry activities related to public building initiatives using wood-based solutions.Hence,by improving transparency in the land allocation activity generate enhanced possibilities for the companies to respond successfully to the requests submitted by the municipalities.This knowledge is used to better understand the required strategic development for the companies,the government and the municipalities to increase the use of sustainable building materials in Swedish multi-family housing projects.

A study of some Egyptian carbonate rocks for the building construction industry

A number of geotechnical analyses were carried out on selected carbonate rock samples from eight sites located in Egypt. This analysis was to assess the suitability of these rocks for building construction aggregate. The analyses included properties of uniaxial compressive strength, tensile strength, porosity, water absorption, and dynamic fragmentation. The success of building construction depends to a large extent on the availability of raw materials at affordable prices. Raw materials commonly used in the building industry include sands, gravels, clays and clay-derived products. Despite the widespread occurrence of carbonate rocks throughout Egypt, the low premium placed on their direct application in the building sector may be explained in two ways: firstly, the lack of awareness of the potential uses of carbonate rocks in the building construction industry(beyond the production of asbestos, ceiling boards, roof sheets and Portland cement); and secondly, the aesthetic application of carbonate rocks in the building construction depends mainly on their physical attributes, a knowledge of which is generally restricted to within the confines of research laboratories and industries. Thus this paper addresses the physical and mechanical characteristics of some Egyptian carbonate rocks, evaluating them for their suitability as building construction aggregates.

Selection of Weather Parameters for Air-Conditioning System Design for Buildings with Long Thermal Lag

Two building factors-a longer thermal lag of more than one hour for building envelops and a lag of indoor radiation to convert into cooling load-have impact on the instantaneous heat input and instantaneous cooling load.So the two factors should be taken into account when selecting the weather parameters for air-conditioning system design.This paper developed a new statistic method for the rational selection of coincident solar irradiance,dry-bulb and wet-bulb temperatures.The method was applied to historic weather records of 25 years in Hong Kong to generate coincident design weather data.And the results show that traditional design solar irradiance,dry-bulb and wet-bulb temperatures may be significantly overestimated in many conditions,and the design weather data for the three different constructions is not kept constant.

Research on the Integration of BIM Technology in Prefabricated Buildings

Today we are in a technologically explosive information society. The cross- border integration of manufacturing and construction is prefabricated buildings. The cross-border integration of construction and IT is BIM technology, and the emergence of BIM technology provides new ideas for prefabricated building, and the integration of prefabricated building and BIM technology realizes the construction industrialization. This paper studies the application of BIM technology in prefabricated buildings, including the design phase, construction and assembly phase, operation and maintenance phase, and application analysis of related software, so as to improve the high efficiency, high quality and high precision development of prefabricated projects, and promote domestic green environmental protection. The development of the construction industry provides reference value for the application of BIM technology in prefabricated buildings.
