Objective:To evaluate the application value of a refined quality control management model for a sterilization supply center.Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on the work situation of the sterilization supply center from January 2021 to January 2023.The work situation before January 31,2022,was classified as the control group;a routine quality control management model was implemented,and the work situation after January 31,2022,was classified as the observation group.The quality of medical device management and department satisfaction between the two groups were compared.Results:The timely recovery and supply rate,classification and cleaning pass rate,disinfection pass rate,packaging pass rate,sterilization pass rate,and department satisfaction score in the observation group were all higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Implementing a refined quality control management model in the sterilization supply center can improve the quality management level of medical devices and department satisfaction and is worthy of promotion. 展开更多

Introduction: To compare the measured dose distributions to calculated ones in dose-to-water (Dw) and dose-to-medium (Dm) reporting modes for simple plans and patient-specific intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) plans using ArcCHECK with a fixed phantom density. Methods: The recommended density value of 1.18 g/cm3 for Acuros XB and X-ray voxel Monte Carlo was assigned to ArcCHECK on CT images. A total of 45 simple plans, including a 1-field plan, a 3-field plan, a 4-field plan, a half-arc plan from 270° to 90°, and a full-arc plan, were assessed. Subsequently, the patient-specific 96 IMRT and VMAT plans were evaluated. Gamma analysis with a 3% normalized global dose error and a 3 mm distance-to-agreement criteria (γ3%G/3mm) was performed in the Dw and Dm. The change in γ3%G/3mm between Dw and Dm were statistically analyzed using JMPPro11 software. Results: The median values of γ3%G/3mm for all simple plans for Dw and Dm were 98.1% (range, 75.2% - 100%) and 95.5% (range, 23.7% - 100%), respectively (p 0.01). In the patient-specific IMRT and VMAT plans, the median values of γ3%G/3mm for Dw and Dm were 98.6% (range, 90.1% - 100%) and 90.5% (range, 38.5% - 97.2%), respectively (p 0.01). Conclusion: Our results showed that the calculated and measured dose distributions were in good agreement for Dw, but were not for Dm. From the viewpoint of the rationale of dosimetry, Dw shows better agreement with measured dose distribution when using the fixedphantom density recommended by the vendor. 展开更多

Background: In linear accelerators, the treatment field’s uniform intensity is achieved by including a flattening filter in the beam. However, to produce more conformal dose distributions, contemporary radiotherapy practice now frequently uses fluence and aperture modifying techniques, such as volumetric modulated arc therapy. In these circumstances, the flattening filter in the beam manufacturing process is no longer required. It is therefore necessary to compare the monitor units of 6 MV and flattening filter free plans and how it influences the gamma pass rates to determine which is best for treating cervical cancer with pelvic lymph node metastasis. Methods: VMAT plans for fifteen patients with cervical cancer with pathological pelvic lymph node metastasis were included in this study. Each patient had two VMAT plans using conventional 6 MV beam with flattening filter and one with flattening filter free beam (FFF). The VMAT plans were made using two arcs, and then recalculated to give the planned dose distribution to the detectors in a Delta4 phantom. The VMAT plans were irradiated on the Delta4 phantom using an Elekta linear accelerator (6 MV). Results: The mean monitor unit for the 6 MV plans was 506.3 MU and a standard deviation of 48.6 while that of the FFF plans had a mean MU of 701.5 with a standard deviation of 87.6. The total monitor units (MUs) for the FFF plans were significantly greater than the 6 MV plans (p = 6.1 × 10<sup>-5</sup>). Conclusion: Flattening filter free (FFF) plans require more numbers of monitor units in comparison to conventional 6 MV filtered beams for external radiation of cervical cancer with pelvic lymph nodes involvement. 展开更多

An artificial localized corrosion system is assembled and some parameters related to the localized corrosion in active dissolution state (i.e., non-passive state) have been studied. The results showed that the developed electrochemical system can satisfactorily imitate a naturally formed localized corrosion and the coupling current can indicate the maximum localized propagating rate. In this artificial system, the anodic dissolution reaction followed the auto-catalytic mechanism. The localized corrosion current density was dependent on the area ratio R of the cathode to the occluded anode. While R was equal to or more than 6, the coupling current reached at a maximum value and did not alter with the increase in R-value. Therefore, R=7 is chosen as one of these optimum parameters used in constructing the system, with which the biggest galvanic current might be obtained. In contrast, the thickness of the polymer filler separating the occluded anode area from the bulk electrolyte solution and the volume of the occluded anode area did not affect the corrosion current obviously. The study on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)by the technology and method of thermal science is a new cut in point in interdisciplinary science, and its purpose is to study the tongue inspection in TCM from the view of the bio heat transfer theory. In this paper human tongues were studied with the infrared thermal imaging technology. And the characteristic relationship between temperature distribution and age, tongue color as well as infrared thermal tongue image concerning the characteristic of viscera was analyzed by the experimental data,which confirms that the change in temperature distribution in different positions of the tongue is related to the diseases of different internal organs of the body. From a series of invasive experiments in animals, the blood perfusion rate was measured with the equipment of CBI 8000 Doppler Blood Flow Meter and MP 100 Physiologic Research System for the first time and the characteristic relationship curve between the temperature on the surface of the tongue and the blood perfusion rate was obtained. From the experiments the temperature on the surface of the tongue reflects objectively the tongue color which is influenced by the blood perfusion rate. This will help to develop some new cognition in the theory of TCM. 展开更多

The National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) has been the standard by which all undergraduate nursing programs are judged for program effectiveness. Consistent patterns of low pass rates can have serious implications for the academic institution, the nursing program, the nursing faculty, the program graduates, and the community at large. Preparing undergraduate nursing students for licensure is a major concern for undergraduate nursing faculty. Present pass rates for the graduate nursing baccalaureate students at a state university are currently below the national average. To address this problem, these researchers have identified interventions that predict success on the NCLEX-RN examination. The implementation of a five week online NCLEX-RN review course in conjunction with three workshops taught and designed by these researchers is used to increase the pass rate on the NCLEX-RN exam. The goal of the implementation of this assessment project is to provide the nursing student with the necessary tools to be successful on the NCLEX-RN. Furthermore, findings from this project have the potential to identify areas for the improvement in the nursing curriculum as well as the increase of the nursing program’s NCLEX-RN pass rate. 展开更多

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the functional characteristics of ArcCheck? array detectors and the application for Tomotherapy IMRT plan verification. Method and Materials: The basic character of the ArcCheck applying on Tomotherapy system was tested. The diode testing procedures included the followings: The short term reproducibility, linearity, dose rate dependence, the profile measurement compared to ion chamber. The effect of insert on gamma passing rate was also studied. A total number of 602 Tomotherapy Delivery Quality Assurance (DQA) plans were retrospectively analyzed to obtain the action limit results with statistical significance evaluation. Results: The short term reproducibility, linearity, dose rate dependence, profile to ion chamber correlation and clinical application were all compared with satisfactory outcome with this device. If anterior diode points were properly calibrated with machine absolute output, then there was no significant difference between the ArcCheck phantom with and without insert on gamma passing rate. The average passing rate was 97.5% and the recommend action level was established at 92% based on the 602 patients’ clinical data with 95% confidence level criteria. Conclusion: This comprehensive study shows that ArcCheck is an accurate and efficient device for quality assurance of Tomotherapy with remarkable consistency of 3D volume analysis of arc therapy. 展开更多

Multiple Phase Change Materials for Performance Enhancement of a Solar Dryer with Double Pass Collector

The fluctuation in drying temperature influences the food products’quality and drying time significantly during the drying process using an indirect solar dryer.One of the effective methods to reduce these variations in the temperature is based on thermal storage materials to control the drying temperature.An experimental investigation is presented in this study to evaluate the performance of an indirect solar dryer with air double pass using multiple phase change materials(PCM)as thermal storage materials.Two PCMs with different melting points are used to store the available heat energy during peak sunshine periods and reduce the drying temperature fluctuations.Drying tests on a food product sample are conducted in three cases,the first was without PCMs using natural convection.The second and third cases are based on forced convection with and without using multiple PCMs under Baghdad city conditions.The results showed that;approximately a steady temperature of hot drying air was obtained during relatively low ambient temperatures when the dryer was incorporated with multiple PCMs.The drying time of the product sample for the natural,forced convection without PCMs and forced with PCMs was 87,72 and 47 h,respectively.The higher performance of the dryer was for the forced convection with PCMs.The reduction percentage in drying time was about 17.2%and 46%for the forced convection without and with PCMs respectively compared with natural convection.The average drying rate for the natural,forced without PCMs and forced convection with PCMs was 0.0093,0.0135 and 0.0172 kg/h,respectively.The enhancement in thermal efficiency of the solar collector and drying chamber with multiple PCMs was 43%and 25.5%,respectively,compared with a typical solar dryer. 展开更多

This research examines the CPA exam pass rates for higher education institutions in Texas. An investigation related to the top schools and AACSB accreditation is conducted as well as analyses related to public vs. private schools, area of the state where the institution is located, and University Systems. The results reflect impressive pass rates by University of Texas at Austin and Texas A&M University at College Station in terms of both number of students taking the exam and the percentage passing it. There was a significant CPA rate lead with private universities only when the two outstanding public universities were omitted from the analysis. The research also found significant differences in terms of areas of the state as well as university systems. The analysis and the findings are very important to students with CPA exam success as their academic primary goal with their university education, the educational institutions preparing the students, and society as a whole. The fmdings may help guide both the universities and the students to better success with the exam as well as perhaps help taxpayers and legislators know how well tax money is being spent in this area. 展开更多

目的:测试COMPASS三维验证系统在临床应用中的可行性。方法:以三维水箱为基准,比较分析COMPASS系统在百分深度剂量(Percentage depth dose,PDD)、输出因子(Output factor,OUF)、离轴曲线(Profile)和绝对剂量等方面的测量数据与三维水箱... 目的:测试COMPASS三维验证系统在临床应用中的可行性。方法:以三维水箱为基准,比较分析COMPASS系统在百分深度剂量(Percentage depth dose,PDD)、输出因子(Output factor,OUF)、离轴曲线(Profile)和绝对剂量等方面的测量数据与三维水箱所测量数据的相关性和一致性;在均匀模体和非均匀模体中验证7例患者的放疗计划,检测COMPASS系统软件的剂量计算精度和剂量重建精度;通过BallBearming模体测试COMPASS系统硬件对加速器等中心的影响。结果:COMPASS系统测量和重新计算的PDD、OUF、Profile与三维水箱测量的数据具有较好的一致性,其绝对剂量偏差均小于2.5%;COMPASS系统软件在均匀模体和非均匀模体中验证7例患者放疗计划的绝对剂量偏差均小于3%,γ通过率不低于93%,重建精度和剂量计算精度接近于计划系统(Teatmentplanning system,TPS);COMPASS系统的硬件不影响等中心的精度,在三个方向上的偏差都小于1mm。结论:COMPASS系统的独立计算功能和剂量重建功能具有类似TPS的精度,可以提供三维的剂量分布信息,为临床治疗提供安全、可靠的技术保障。 展开更多

目的:探讨基于信息化分析技术的质量控制方式在护理巡视中的应用效果。方法:设计运用“运营管理与决策”信息化系统对护理巡视率进行数据监测,选取2022年3月—6月住院的37116例病人为对照组(实施前),2022年8月—11月39250例病人为试验组... 目的:探讨基于信息化分析技术的质量控制方式在护理巡视中的应用效果。方法:设计运用“运营管理与决策”信息化系统对护理巡视率进行数据监测,选取2022年3月—6月住院的37116例病人为对照组(实施前),2022年8月—11月39250例病人为试验组(实施后)。比较实施前后两组病人在一级护理巡视率、二级护理巡视率、三级护理巡视率、护理(安全)不良事件发生率及病人对护士业务水平及服务满意度方面的差异。结果:试验组一级护理巡视率、二级护理巡视率及病人对护士业务水平评价得分均高于对照组(P<0.01),护理(安全)不良事件发生率低于对照组(P<0.05)。结论:运用信息化分析技术对护理巡视数据进行实时监控,可提升护理管理效能,确保病人安全。 展开更多
