Narrative Empathy and Patriotism--An Analysis of the Chinese“Main-Melody”Film My People,My Country

Narrative empathy is a relatively new theory and it can guide researchers in the studies of main-melody films so as to promote the communication of the core values of the society.The rhetorical mechanism of narrative empathy can be illustrated from five rhetorical elements,including rhetor,rhetorical goal,rhetorical situation,rhetorical strategy and audience.The theory of narrative empathy can be applied to the case study of the film My People,My Country.In the production of this film,the directors are the rhetors.The rhetors uphold the tenet of closeness,choose the right rhetorical situation as the 70th birthday of the People’s Republic of China,and use appropriate rhetorical strategies in order to realize the rhetorical goals of evoking empathy and inspiring patriotic feelings in the audience’s minds.An exploration and application of narrative empathy can be conducive to the empathic communication of Chinese main-melody films in order to achieve better communication effect.

A Study of Xi Jinping Thought on Governing the Country Based on the Unity of “Party Spirit-People’s Nature”

The unity of “party spirit-people’s nature” is the basic proposition of Xi Jinping’s governance.Deng Xiaoping summarized the experience and lessons in the early days of reform and opening up,and put forward the basic line of the “leadership and unity” of the party in the early stage of socialism around “one center,two basic points”;Xi Jinping’s so-called “unification”,which is based on the the basic line of Deng Xiaoping’s initial stage of building a socialist country that is “rich,strong,democratic,civilized,harmonious and beautiful”,has further established the importance of “people as the center” and “party’s leadership”.Therefore,the “people-centered” and “the party’s overall leadership” are unified and become the basic idea of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s governance of the country.Xi Jinping has put forward the unity of “party spirit-people’s nature”,the “consistency” between governing the country and politics,and the “integration” between the people’s interests and the party’s leadership,thus forming “persistence”,“comprehensive”,“confidence”,“maintenance” and other assertions.

A Study on the Back-Translation of LinYutang's My Country and My People

The version back-translated by Lin's friend Huang Jiade in 1930s promoted My Country and My Peopleto new heights and won the authority.For the sake of readers' benefits,Huang applied domestication to reconstruct Chinese culture embodied in Lin's work.This thesis is intended to study Huang Jiade's version of My Country and My Peoplefrom the perspective of Skopos Theory.Guided by the three Skopos Rules,Skopos,fidelity and coherence,the author will analyze the domestication strategy applied by Huang Jiade.The author finds out that Huang applied substitution,amplification and omission to domesticate the originals for respective purposes.The author also hopes to cast a light for the latter researchers on improving the back-translation of cultural- elements in this kind of special literary works.

The ASEAN experience of the purchasing power parity theory

We used panel data analysis to evaluate the relative purchasing power parity(PPP)hypothesis of the ten ASEAN member countries between 1973 and 2015.We incorporated the cross-sectionally augmented panel unit root test as proposed by Pesaran(J Appl Econ 22:265-312,2007).For panel cointegration analysis,we employed the four error-correction-based Westerlund(Oxf Bull Econ Stat 69:709-748,2007)panel cointegration tests.The Westerlund(Oxf Bull Econ Stat 69:709-748,2007)tests are general enough to permit a large degree of heterogeneity,both in the long-run cointegrating relationship and in the short-run dynamics,and dependence within as well as across the cross-sectional units.To check the robustness of the results,we further estimated the cointegration test excluding Indonesia and Brunei.The findings support our initial results.Further,all the results overwhelmingly support the relative PPP hypothesis.Consequently,the monetary authority would be able to implement a self-regulating monetary policy.It would also be able to control the exchange rates.

Putting People First and Global Human Rights Governance--A Summary of Academic Viewpoints of“2021 South-South Human Rights Forum”

On December 8, 2021, China’s State Council Information office(SCIo) and Ministry of Foreign Affairs co-hosted the “2021 South-South Human Rights Forum” in Beijing. The forum is themed on “putting people First and Global Human Rights Governance”. Four sub-themes, namely, “Building a Global Community of Health for All and protecting Human Rights”, “Anti-poverty Ffforts and Realization of the Right to Development”, “Multilateralism and Global Human Rights Governance”, and “The Role of Developing Countries in Global Human Rights Governance”, were discussed by delegates from more than 100 countries and international organizations. Within the framework of the theme of the forum, the delegates fully discussed on how to better respect and protect human rights, advance equal cooperation, share development outcomes, seek common and sustainable development, maintain fairness and justice in the international community, and improve the basic experience of the protection of human rights, and so on. As an important platform for the exchanges and cooperation of developing countries in human rights, the South-South Human Rights Forum has effectively promoted mutual understanding, inclusiveness and mutual learning on human rights governance.

Country and My People and Sydney Opera House:The missing link

It is known that Jφrn Utzon(1918-2008),the principal architect for the Sydney Opera House project(1957-66),had a lifetime obsession for Chinese art and architecture.However,previous studies did not explore the relationship between Utzon and his venerated Chinese writer Lin Yutang(1895-1976).How Utzon represented the ideas and ideals he received from Lin Yutang's conceptualization of Chinese art and architecture in My Country and My People(1935)has not been systematically documented.To this end,this article examines the role of Lin Yutang's work in Utzon's architectural career generally and the architect's Sydney Opera House design in particular.It argues that My Country and My People nurtured young Utzon's own architectural philosophy,as reflected in his early manifestoes and design projects.Eventually,Lin Yutang's Chinese aesthetics encapsulated in calligraphy,painting and architecture helped Utzon to initiate,articulate and further communicate the design principles of his Sydney Opera House,as well as several other important architectural works before and after.Although Utzon never fully realized his Opera House due to forced resignation in 1966,the inspiration from Lin Yutang vividly remains in Utzon's yet to be finished masterpiece.

Carisolv技术与GiomerⅡ聚合体修复老年人根面龋的临床疗效观察

目的:评价Carisolv技术与GiomerⅡ聚合体修复老年人根面龋的临床效果。方法:选择双侧双尖牙或磨牙患根面龋老年人120例,240颗患牙,随机分为Carisolv组和常规各组,每组各120颗患牙,分别采用Carisolv技术和临床常规治疗方法预备洞型后,每组中一侧以GiomerⅡ聚合体充填,另一侧以玻璃离子充填。记录患者在治疗过程中的疼痛程度及1年后的治疗效果。结果:试验组治疗时的疼痛程度明显低于对照组(P<0.001)。1年后,两种操作方法对GiomerⅡ聚合体充填后1年修复成功率分别为90.00%和91.67%,差异无显著性(P>0.05)。Carisolv技术下,GiomerⅡ聚合体和玻璃离子充填的修复成功率分别为90.00%和73.33%,差异有显著性(P<0.05)。常规备洞下,GiomerⅡ聚合体和玻璃离子充填的修复成功率分别为91.67%和75.00%,差异有显著性(P<0.05)。结论:Carisolv修复技术与GiomerⅡ聚合体是老年人治疗根面龋较安全、无痛、有效的方法,可推广应用。

目的:评价Glasionomer FX-Ⅱ型超强玻璃离子修复老年人牙根龋的临床应用效果。方法:选择口腔门诊老年根面龋患者200例,共312个根面龋牙,随机分为2组:Glasionomer FX-Ⅱ修复组100例155个牙,光固化组100例157个牙,进行修复,随访2年对比观察。结果:两组近期疗效无显著性差异(P>0.05);远期疗效经统计学检验,x^2= 4.36,P<0.05,有统计学意义。结论:Glasionomer FX-Ⅱ修复老年人牙根龋远期疗效优于光固化复合树脂。

基于健康社会决定因素的宁夏中老年人慢性病共病的影响因素研究

背景人口老龄化进程日益加快,中老年人健康问题突出。慢性病共病严重威胁中老年人的健康和生活质量,阻碍健康中国行动的进展,探讨其与健康社会决定因素的关系具有积极意义。目的了解宁夏中老年人慢性病共病情况及健康社会决定因素情况,分析中老年人健康社会决定因素与慢性病共病的关联,为中老年慢性病共病患者的健康管理和干预策略制定提供参考。方法采用多阶段分层随机抽样方法于2022-06-27—08-27调查宁夏石嘴山市、银川市、固原市的10个区/县1997名中老年人的健康相关数据,应用Apriori算法分析宁夏地区中老年人的共病模式,采用非条件Logistic回归分析探讨宁夏中老年人慢性病共病与健康社会决定因素的关联性。结果宁夏地区中老年人慢性病共病人数418例,慢性病共病率20.9%;关联规则结果显示有14条共病模式,其中11条与冠心病有关,9条与高血压有关,9条与糖尿病有关;非条件Logistic回归分析结果显示,年龄≥60岁、子女数量为2~3个、已建立健康档案、工作状况为离退休和无业、养老保险为城乡居民基本养老保险的中老年人慢性病共病率较高(P<0.05),夜间睡眠时长为7~8 h和>8 h、大专及以上文化水平的中老年人慢性病共病率较低(P<0.05)。结论中老年慢性病共病的影响因素涉及个体、社区、社会各个方面,建议从多维度对慢性病共病患者进行干预,以期提高其健康水平。

欠发达地区县级公共图书馆法治建设任重道远——对鄂、渝、湘、黔若干县级图书馆的调研分析

文章选取了我国欠发达地区25个县级公共图书馆,围绕《中华人民共和国公共图书馆法》的具体实施情况开展深入调查。发现当前我国欠发达地区县级公共图书馆的法治化治理水平有所提升,但地方政府依法保障的情况仍然堪忧。为此提出了4个基层公共图书馆法治建设着力点,为新时代基层公共图书馆的法治化建设和高质量发展提供参考。
