Chinese Image in American and British Literature from the Perspective of＂Otherness＂

In the US and British literature, there are many works using China or the Chinese people as depict objects. With the development of American and British literature, the shape of the image of China is diverse. Currently, the research of the image of China or Chinese people in the US and British literature has yielded fruitful results, the majority concentrated on the study before the new century writers and representative works. In the new century, the causes and significance of the image of China and the Chinese people in American literature have the positive impact on self-awareness and self-construction of the China＇ s image.

DETERMINATION OF UNKNOWN CAMERA PARAMETERS FOR THE PERSPECTIVE IMAGES

To obtain an accurate 3 D object configuration from images,the essential perspective characteristics must be considered. Several new inverse transformation relations of the perspective image lines are given. Utilizing the analytic transformation relations, an optimization procedure for obtaining the unknown camera parameters of images is presented in this paper. A 3 D reproduction method and examples are introduced.

Malignant adenomyoepithelioma of the breast:Two case reports and review of the literature

BACKGROUND Malignant adenomyoepithelioma(AME)of the breast is a rare tumor in which malignancy can arise from either epithelial or myoepithelial components,or from both cell types.The incidence and prognosis of malignant AME of the breast are difficult to assess due to its rarity.Therefore,the optimal treatment for this disease is still controversial.CASE SUMMARY We present two middle-aged women(48 and 56 years old)with malignant AME of the breast.Core needle biopsy was performed before surgery.However,breast adenoma and malignant tumors were observed.The preoperative diagnosis of malignant AME of the breast is still challenging for pathologists and clinicians.Both patients underwent mastectomy and sentinel lymph node biopsy,both of which were negative,followed by adjuvant chemotherapy.CONCLUSION The follow-up duration of the two patients was two years and four months,respectively.No signs of relapse or metastasis have been observed thus far.

The Reality of Nigerian Image From the Perspective of The Home Videos

The home video through its offering plays pivotal roles of information, education and entertainment. It has provided knowledge to the viewing audience and directs their attention to issues to think about and/or learn. Popularly called Nollywood, the home video industry has brought scholars, reporters, reviewer, journalists, investors, and different kinds of people to the country; to investigate, invest, and observe the industry or network with people. Through the portrayals and representations of Nigeria and its people, a lot of people, especially foreigners and Nigerians in the Diaspora have come to understand the socio-economic and political terrain of the nation based on the home videos offerings; thus the need to x-ray the depictions in the Nigerian home video films to ascertain the reality of their Nigerian image from the perspectives. The study was undertaken through content analysis of 50 video films which were televised as programmes on television stations in Lagos and Africa Magic （a cable network station）, within the framework of agenda-setting and cultivation theories. The results reveal that while the home video producers have effectively revealed Nigerians as religious and traditional people, very little has been done to portray the economic and investment potentials of the nation; the nation＇s symbols like flags, coat of arm, currencies amongst others are barely revealed; negative attitudes of get-rich-quick, get-rich-at-all-cost, witchcraft, and fetish practices as well as violence, hooliganism, and ritualism amongst other things are often exaggerated in the films. Following the home video portrayals and representations, it could be imagined that the Nigerian urban environment is as beautiful and rich with predominantly affluent and flamboyant people as are depicted in the home videos. The misrepresentations, overrepresentations, and under-presentations of the nation＇s image in the home video can be very detrimental to the nation＇s socio-economic development especially as the nation＇s destiny is indirectly related to its image. They can further pose challenges to the attitudes and responses of people from other nations to the Nigerian citizens within and outside the country. Furthermore, some Nigerian citizens, especially the youths could aspire to and learn certain lifestyles and attitudes projected in the home videos as acceptable.

On Chinese Image of American Literature in the 20^(th) Century

Due to the influence and control of many factors such as geographical location and historical conditions,many of the 20thCentury American literature works portray distorted Chinese image different from reality. In American literature,China doesn't exist as a real country with a geographical location,but it exists in a virtual space in the world composed of cultural imagination. Literature is the reflected thought that can accommodate numerous social fields,and American literature can mostly reflect the overall cognition of different fields for Chinese image. This paper analyzes the characterization and cognition of Chinese image in the20thCentury American literature works,understanding the history and features of Chinese image in the 20thCentury American literature works,in order to obtain the enlightenment of how to better establish Chinese image.

A Literature Review on “Non- Marriage”: A Global Comparative Perspective

This paper presents a comprehensive analysis and comparison of the existing literature on the phenomenon of non-marriage or staying unmarried in Asian countries such as China,Japan,South Korea,and Singapore,as well as European and American countries such as Spain and the US,and explores the trends,characteristics as well as reasons behind such a phenomenon.Through analysis,the present study found that there is a growing trend of postponed marriage and parenthood as well as an increasing proportion of individuals who exhibit no enthusiasm towards matrimony or parenthood in the aforementioned countries.To some extent,non-marriage or postponed marriage has become a prevalent trend in developed countries and even some developing countries.Japan,South Korea,and several developed countries in Europe and America have exhibited this phenomenon since the middle to late 20th century,with a relatively long history.The emergence of this phenomenon in China,Malaysia,the Philippines,and other developing countries in Asia,however,was relatively late,exhibiting a gradual development process.The current marriage landscape in China is characterized by a growing number of non-marriage individuals and a significant level of marital stability.In terms of reasons for staying unmarried,the marriage rates in the aforementioned countries can be attributed to various factors at macro,meso,and micro levels.In China,the phenomenon of non-marriage is closely associated with a range of factors,including diverse values and attitudes towards romance and marriage,marriage squeeze,education expansion,and the rise in females’economic and social status.The emphasis in future research should be placed on predicting the phenomenon of non-marriage,with a specific focus on exploring the reasons for advocating non-marriage,examining the internal mechanisms underlying this phenomenon,analyzing the consequences of non-marriage,and proposing corresponding countermeasures while establishing the public identity towards marriage.

CAMERA LOCATION DETERMINATION BASED ON THE PERSPECTIVE PROJECTION GEOMETRY OF THREE POINTS

An approach to camera location determination based on the perspective projection geometry of three points is proposed, which is simple and straightforward. No rigid restrictions are placed on the original positional and orientational relationships between the camera and the mark. Experimental results verify the feasibility of the proposed approach.

Cystic teratoma of the parotid gland:A case report

BACKGROUND Teratoma is a common tumor,but rarely occurs in the parotid region.Only nine cases have been reported in the current literature.Although it is generally detected in infancy or childhood,it is commonly asymptomatic.Computed tomography(CT)and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)have important roles in the diagnosis of teratoma.CASE SUMMARY A 36-year-old man developed a lump located below the left auricular lobule 3 years ago.Physical examination revealed a nearly-circular tumor in the left parotid gland region with a defined border,firm texture,and significant movement.Calcification,fat,keratinized substances,and typical fat-liquid levels was observed on CT and MRI.A diagnosis of cystic teratoma of the parotid gland was established preoperatively and confirmed by postoperative pathology.Following surgery,the patient developed temporary facial paralysis.There was no recurrence of teratoma during the 15-mo follow-up period.CONCLUSION When an asymptomatic mass in the parotid region is identified,parotid gland teratoma should be included in the differential diagnosis.Imaging examinations are helpful in the diagnosis.

Cao Yu is an important and well-known playwright in the modern history of Chinese literature,who shapes many vivid and lively female images in his works,all of them presenting the split personality—on the one hand,they are beautiful and honest,as good as angels;on the other hand,they are crazy and insane.This paper attempts to center on the familiar female image Fanyi to analyze the writing psyche and imagination of the writer and further reveal the deep logic and immanent contradiction of the female image as the intent tool.

THE APPLICATION OF REMOTE SENSING TECHNIQUE ON GEOLOGICAL INVESTIGATION OF PLACER DEPOSIT

The practice has proved that it is an economic and effective method to investigate placer gold deposit by using multi-level information sources of remote sensing and multi-variate analysis methods, especially for the area with a sparse population and difficult condition like the Da Hinggan Mountains, China.The information sources used in our work includes Landsat TM, aerial infrared photography and their mosaic image maps and enlarged photos with different scales. According to statistic data, in the study area the gold-bearing rocks are mainly granite, alaskite, granodiorite and some old metamorphic rocks. On gold-bearing geological structures, the fault zones in the four directions (NE, NNE, NW and EW) are obvious, in which NNE and EW are the most key fault zones. On fluvial geomorphology the flow courses stored placer are in the tributaries of the 4th and 5th levels, especially in straight or slight curve reaches. Literature visualization has particular characteristics:multimodality in production;multimediality in the means of distribution;visualization of language forms.The basic changes of literature lie in mode- choosing orientation and potentials that language and image offer for making meaning.Under the framework of multimodal semiotics,image and language are two modes nestled among a multimodal ensemble.Each mode and the interactions between them have the potential to contribute equally to meaning.Elucidating "image-language relation" from multimodality can make it clear that the particular characteristics of image and language don't change;the former describes visual effect,the latter constructs image with imagination.

腰椎椎管内脊索瘤影像学表现及文献复习

脊索瘤为起源于胚胎残余脊索组织的低度恶性肿瘤,好发于骶尾部及颅底枕骨斜坡区域骨组织内^([1-5]),原发于椎管内而无骨质破坏的脊索瘤极为罕见,其发病机制尚不明确;现就我院诊治的一例椎管内髓外硬膜下脊索瘤并结合相关文献,报道如下。1一般资料患者,男,39岁,右下肢乏力3天伴行走困难并右下肢拖坠感入院检查;既往无特殊病史及家族史。查体:右下肢肌力3级,感觉血供正常,腱反射(-);左下肢肌力正常,左膝反射(++)、踝反射(++)。双下肢动脉及静脉超声提示未见异常。

投影模型下全方位视觉图像畸变校正算法仿真

为提高全方位视觉图像内目标清晰度,强化边缘细节特征,调整畸变的几何比例结构,提出一种投影模型下图像畸变校正算法。构建图像畸变模型,明确畸变与原始图像间非线性变化关系,通过正交投影变换构建透视投影模型和平行透视投影模型,将平行透视投影近似看作为透视投影的一阶结果,计算二者仿射近似误差值,最后将畸变校正问题定义为畸变与理想点的位姿重合,令位姿校正转换为重合最小距离求解,使用齐次坐标获得校正的旋转和平移量,实现图像畸变校正。仿真结果表明,所提算法校正后图像边缘清晰,细节部分无锯齿现象,说明上述算法能够精准还原目标特征,具有较高的可应用价值。

“冷战”·“逆行”·“新时期”—— 世界华文文学视野下的中国当代文学

完整意义上的中国当代文学应当包括中国版图内全部地区的当代文学,但现在我们通常所说的“中国当代文学”是指中国境内(境指关境)的当代文学。从世界华文文学的视野来观照这一传统意义上的文学样态时,可以从三个方面提供对当代文学的新认识:置身“冷战”环境,但“中国当代文学”对“冷战”的参与,具有一种“非典型形态”;“中国当代文学”向现实主义挺进并不断深入,与整个世界文学潮流形成了一种“逆行”发展的势头;在经历了“拨乱反正”的过渡期后,一是向西方深度学习追求先锋,二是自觉回视传统有意寻根,“中国当代文学”放弃了“新”“新文学”的尝试,以一种既具有自觉的理论意识和本土立场,又兼具开放和包容的姿态,拥抱世界文学并致力于并入世界文学,从而造就了一个“新时期”。

1895乙未割台,台湾地区被纳入日本殖民体制,海峡两岸中国人面临着各自的社会问题与主要矛盾。海峡两岸先觉者都走上救亡启蒙的道路,“民主”“科学”是祖国内地五四新文化运动的主要内容与目标旨趣,“法律”则是日据台湾地区社会运动的斗争缘起与诉求方向。日据台湾地区,法律既是日本带来的现代化形式,也是异族殖民下的强权工具。赖和被尊为“台湾新文学之父”“台湾的鲁迅”,其新旧文学作品深具时代精神。考察赖和文本内外的法律因素,不难发现日据时期作为公平正义象征的“法律”极具殖民性特质。法律书写是赖和文学不同于祖国内地现代作家作品的重要纬度,这是日据台湾地区特殊的殖民权力结构所决定,也是台湾地区文学对整个中华民族文学的丰富。
