Central environmental protection inspection and carbon emission reduction: A tripartite evolutionary game model from the perspective of carbon neutrality

Since the carbon neutrality target was proposed,many countries have been facing severe challenges to carbon emission reduction sustainably.This study is conducted using a tripartite evolutionary game model to explore the impact of the central environmental protection inspection(CEPI)on driving carbon emission reduction,and to study what factors influence the strategic choices of each party and how they interact with each other.The research results suggest that local governments and manufacturing enterprises would choose strategies that are beneficial to carbon reduction when CEPI increases.When the initial willingness of all parties increases 20%,50%—80%,the time spent for the whole system to achieve stability decreases from 100%,60%—30%.The evolutionary result of“thorough inspection,regulation implementation,low-carbon management”is the best strategy for the tripartite evolutionary game.Moreover,the smaller the cost and the larger the benefit,the greater the likelihood of the three-party game stability strategy appears.This study has important guiding significance for other developing countries to promote carbon emission reduction by environmental policy.

Radical Right Parties in the Political System of States： Theoretical and Practical Aspects

The article deals with the question of whether far-right parties are able to influence the political and party system in the contemporary state. Far-right parties have acquired special political features that are grounded on a broad variety of far-right ideological norms and political instruments. Far-right parties challenge the state government and policy offering the key （anti-immigration politics） to solve a variety of complicated issues. The main idea of the article is that far-right parties are flexible enough in their political rhetoric and instruments to gain electoral support. Based on different concepts and theories we should underline that far-right parties have a prominent electoral future but their place in the political arena greatly depends on existing conflicts of social and cultural nature in the nation-state.

The Relationship between Public Service Efficiency of Government and Residential Political Trust in Hong Kong

Hong Kong has a long history with its high efficiency and clean and self-disciplined government.Within the past over 20 years,different social development trend has occurred in Hong Kong.The article observed the relationship between political trust from residence and public service efficiency of government in Hong Kong from 1992 to 2015 and found that the value of public service efficiency has a significant effect on political trust in Hong Kong government,the higher the efficiency of public services,the higher the political trust.The author tried to find the path for the Hong Kong government to improve its public service quality and efficiency after testifying the positive correlation between public service efficiency and residential political trust with empirical analysis.

Urban Plazas:The Politics of Space in Urban Constraints

The most crucial notion in built environment studies,space,is forced to undergo a reinterpretation due to the influence of numerous social phenomena and cultural movements,such as postmodernism,the information age,and globalization.The traditional concept of time subverts time division and space restriction,along with the changes brought on by contemporary urbanization and postmodernist cultural norms.As a result,the urban plaza area,which is a unique cultural space,begins to take shape.It brings together previously different places,such as“public and private,”“political and daily,”“working and leisure,”as well as“physical and virtual.”The urban plaza is a useful research subject since it is a public area where the majority of cultural traits associated with urbanization are found.The spatial politics of the urban plaza experience a historic shift from macro politics to micro politics under the influence of postmodernism.Premised on this notion,the purpose of this study is to investigate the specific space of today’s cities,which is the urban plaza,as well as the politics of space and the in-depth interpretation of space culture.This study uses techniques from many other fields that are related to spatial ideas,including philosophy,political science,cultural studies,and geography.This study expands the cultural space of post-modernist interpretation of cultural depth of character based on the theoretical paradigm in multidisciplinary cross-application in order to enhance individuals’awareness of urban plaza cultural forms and further their understanding of its political and cultural space power traits as well as underlying meaning.This paper examines the role and culture of urban plaza from the perspectives of numerous well-known spatial culture theories in the context of the analysis.In addition to identifying the nature of the cultural politics,this paper addresses the significance of spatial politics of urban plazas.

Does internet use improve the public evaluation of government environmental governance (GEG) in China? An analysis using the Chinese Social Survey, 2013−2017

Based on three datasets of the Chinese Social Survey(CSS)2013,2015,and 2017 and the National Statistical Yearbook,this study examined whether and in what ways using the Internet may or may not affect the public evaluation of government environmental governance(GEG).There are three main findings.First,Internet use has a negative influence on the public evaluation of GEG.Second,there has been an urban-rural difference in terms of Internet use;especially for the rural resident,increasing their use of the Internet significantly lowered their evaluation of GEG.Third,Internet use affects GEG mainly through political trust,whilst it tends to enhance people’s perception of environmental problems;however,it has little influence on their evaluation of GEG.This finding implies that public evaluation of GEG should be viewed as an important inter-subjective dimension of GEG;especially in the Internet era,it has become increasingly necessary for the government to not only continuously improve the quality of governance by dealing with actual/practical environmental issues,but also enhance its ability to react to the public opinions online effectively and appropriately.

Women as Ambassadors of Peace in Times of Political Mayhems in Kenya

The article sets out to show that women are critical players in peace building in Kenya,especially in times of political turmoil.Certainly,several African countries have experienced bouts of violence that are always caused by divergent political ideologies amongst its leadership.In most African countries where there is violence,male politicians are always seen as its key promoters;even though it remains an irony that it is women and children who bear the brunt.UNSCR 1325 affirms that peace and security efforts are sustainable when women are equal partners in the prevention of violent conflict and the forging of lasting peace.To control political violence reasonably,it is advisable to encourage the society to put more women political leaderships.In this,the article argues,it will promote good governance and good stewardship of our resources.Curiously,women have not been able to occupy key political positions in Kenya,and face a lot of male-engineered frustrations that are meant to discourage them from electoral politics.To this end,this article will examine the factors that hinder women from securing key positions in the governance of the country such as those of the president,the deputy president,the prime minister,speaker of the national assembly and of the senate,and so on.The article will also discuss how women can overcome the factors that hinder them from taking over political leaderships,and how they can use their skills to usher in peace and prosperity.The methodology will include critical analysis of the state of the nation,and attempt to deconstruct the status quo.

Challenges and Opportunities:the Expanded Government-led HIV/AIDS Programs in China

HIV/AIDS has posed an increasingly serious issue in China. In recent years,Chinese government has taken further intensified efforts to combat HIV/AIDS with high-level political commitment,supportive policy development,increased financial allocation,large-scale of government-led initiatives,expanded international cooperation and great involvement of non-governmental organizations. Meanwhile gaps and challenges coexist impacting the implementation and the results of national HIV/AIDS programs. Thus,further government efforts are needed to improve and tailor the actions to meet the requirement of HIV/AIDS control in China.

Urban Geography and the Production of Socio-Environmental Inequalities

In this article we use the Urban Political Ecology approach to show that by analysing governance networks we can better understand the production of certain socio-environmental transformations that negatively affect some social groups while benefiting others. Drawing upon two case studies in the UK, the article explores the dialectical relationships between different modes of urban governance on one hand and the socio-environmental transformations fulfilled in each case study on the other hand. The article concludes that although urban regeneration policies are always constrained by the neoliberal established framework of power relations, policy outputs and outcomes could be very different from one place to another, shaping uneven socio-environmental constructions. Finally, we make some recommendations in order to stimulate the production of more sustainable communities in the future.

Financial Reporting Dilemmas for the Maltese Local Government

Maltese Local Councils are required to prepare financial reports compliant with International Financial Reporting Standards （IFRS）. Through documentary research, this study examined the suitability of this requirement and implications for institutional relationships. This study showed that IFRS statements are problematic to produce and interpret at the local level of government, and that, on their own, they are undermining the control needs of the Central Government. This study highlighted the important role of financial reporting for accountability by showing that the use of financial reporting systems that do not fit the reporting entity may actually lead to avoidance of accountability by mystifying reality.
