Professional Development of County-level Physical Education Teachers from the Perspective of the New Curriculum Standards:A Case Study of Huaiji County

Using methods such as questionnaire survey and literature review,a survey was conducted on the professional development of physical education teachers in Huaiji County under the background of the new curriculum standards.The research results found that physical education teachers in Huaiji County have a relatively good distribution structure in terms of teaching experience,age,and education level,but the gender ratio and professional title ratio need to be improved.In terms of professional competence,teachers have shown good performance in teaching implementation ability,but there is still room for improvement in teaching design ability.A certain proportion of teachers still express dissatisfaction with professional title promotion,hardware configuration satisfaction,salary and benefits,and school reward mechanisms.Based on this,this study proposes some measures to improve the professional development level of county-level physical education teachers,such as enhancing teachers teaching design and implementation abilities,strengthening the cultivation of technical action demonstration abilities,improving hardware configuration satisfaction and teaching effectiveness reflection level,strengthening guidance and support for teachers professional development,and enhancing the promotion and implementation of post employment training.

Research on the Integration Path of Postgraduate Professional Courses into the Construction of Curriculum Ideology and Politics

The curriculum ideology and politics play an important role in cultivating students’correct worldview,outlook on life,and values.In recent years,universities and colleges have begun to pay attention to the cultivation of postgraduates’moral education and the construction of postgraduates’curriculum ideology and politics.This paper takes the course“Theory of Software Engineering”of Anqing Normal University as an example,discusses the paths of integrating postgraduate professional courses into the construction of curriculum ideology and politics,and puts forward the paths of feeding back from scientific research,connecting with practice and summarizing and condensing,which are aimed at improving postgraduates’comprehensive quality and innovation ability,and have positive significance for cultivating high-level applied scientific and technological talents who are both moral and talented.

Curriculum Innovation in Language Teacher Education:Reflections on the PGDELT Program’s Contributions to EFL Teachers’Continuing Professional Development

Initial teacher preparation and teachers’ continuing professional development are two significant pillars of the teacher education enterprise. The former encompasses a wide range of teachereducation initiatives at the levels of diploma, bachelor’s degree, postgraduate diploma, and even master’s degree for teacher licensure purposes. These are widely documented in the literature.What is important is how teacher professional development contributes to bolstering the teachereducator force, which is relatively insufficiently documented due to the very fact that different educational systems have somewhat different expectations of such programs in relation to the ideologies and theories underpinning the teacher professional development program design and curriculum offering. Taking stock of a postgraduate diploma program in English language teaching(PGDELT) for teachers’ continuing professional development with a 31-year history housed at a premier teacher education institution in Singapore, which has successfully graduated over 1, 000 English language teachers for colleges and universities in China, I intend to highlight some of its key features, as a former student and then a lecturer on the program, in order to draw implications for sustainable growth of language teacher education programs, especially those whose main purposes are to prepare teachers of English as a second or foreign language(ESL/EFL) and provide continuing professional development opportunities for such inservice teachers.

In this paper,the writer will use a literature analysis approach to explore the issue of teacher autonomy and professionalism in both centralized and decentralized curriculum models.Through literature analysis,the paper argues that centralized and decentralized curricula each have their own positive and negative effects on teachers'autonomy and professional development.Under the current curriculum model in China,teachers'autonomy and professionalism in curriculum development are both enhanced and limited to some extent.Based on the analysis of the literature,this paper will propose recommendations for enhancing Chinese high school teachers'autonomy and professionalism in curriculum development.

The keele curriculum model: A contemporary framework for designing an inter-professional technology enhanced nursing curriculum

This paper outlines a curriculum model for contemporary programme design for the purpose of embedding educational innovation and technology within an inter-professional nursing curriculum. It has been developed from work within the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Keele University during the re-write of both the nursing and midwifery curriculum. The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) require approval of all recordable programmes every five years and as such the school took this review as an opportunity to explore the curriculum model currently in use and develop an approach that would facilitate the professional requirements of the programme alongside the embedding of innovative learning and teaching methodologies. The model springs from extensive application of contemporary pedagogy underpinning adult learning, and forces consideration of cognitive alignment within a multi-modal delivery framework [1]. The model builds upon the early work of Fowler and Mayes [2] and later work of Bird [3] who explored the antecedents and underpinning theory for success within online learning experiences. This model has greater reach;having strategic fit for acontemporary “technology enhanced learning” application within further and higher education [4], whilst ensuring the achievement of given professional standards [5].

Action Research——the Way to Enhancing Teacher Professional Development

This paper introduces the notion of action research in its international academic context. Action research is potentially beneficial to both pre-service teachers and in-service teachers in their professional development and it should play an important role in the curriculum renewal of English teaching methodology in China.

A Study on the Educational Model of Connecting Vocational and Undergraduate Education in Finance and Accounting Majors

This article studies the educational mode connecting vocational education and undergraduate education in finance and accounting majors,in response to the weak cultural foundation and poor course integration faced by current vocational school graduates after entering vocational undergraduate education.By adopting empirical research methods and selecting vocational college students majoring in finance and accounting and ordinary high school students as research objects,this study implements a series of teaching reform measures and conducts tracking surveys on the short-term and long-term effects of educational reforms.As a result,it was found that in the final survey of graduation destinations,34 vocational and technical college students were engaged in related work in their majors,accounting for 45.9%of all vocational and technical college students.This proves that the proposed transitional education model can effectively enhance the cultural foundation of vocational college students and provide new ideas for the cultivation of talents in finance and accounting majors.

A Curriculum Cluster Teaching Model of Software Engineering from the Metaverse Perspective

To solve the teaching difficulties,including hard cultivating engineering thinking,a reasonable transition of professional training,and deep cooperation of students,which impeded the cultivation effectiveness of students’ability to solve complex engineering problems,the paper proposed a Zongheng group teaching model of curriculum cluster based on projects.Firstly,from the perspective of Metaverse,and considering the professional,current teaching situation and learning situation,we analyzed the professional background and proposed the Zongheng group teaching model of curriculum cluster.Then,the connotation,teaching construction and implementation details are explained.After that,we summarized the teaching effect about the 2 years of exploration and practice in the major of software engineering at College of Computer and Information Technology in Mudanjiang Normal University,to clarify the effect of teaching reform.2 years of teaching practice shows that making full use of the advantages of curriculum cluster,Zongheng group and the project-based teaching method,the long-range training,in-depth student cooperation,and the students’ability of solving complex engineering problems are improved.

The Conformity of University Accounting Education Curriculum to the Needs of the Labor Market in Romania

This study represents empirical research that aims to investigate how the labor market for the financial-accounting segment in Romania requires professional and personal skills developed within the accounting education curriculum in the Romanian universities of this profile, or these produce young practitioners inappropriate from the curricular point of view to the employers＇ demands. The study develops a statistical analysis of frequencies, aiming to find an importance stratification of the professional and personal characteristics in the employers＇ demands. The study groups the job advertisements into three categories： for financial accounting, managerial accounting and audit, and seeks to identify specific curriculum descriptors for these categories of professional development. At the same time, the study does a frequency analysis of curriculum descriptors and job execution, comparatively to the management jobs, attempting to do a hierarchy of professional and personal skills, depending on the wording of notices by employers. The conclusions of the report attempts to be a synthesis of the study assumptions results that lead to the idea that the curricular programs of the universities of this profile, though responding in terms of theoretical knowledge, should be extended in practice, but particularly in the personal skills development, which are defining in a competitive selection process.

Primary and secondary school mental health teachers in professional identity of intervention programs

To explore the impact of teacher training on the professional identity of primary and secondary school mental health teachers, this study conducted a half-month professional development training program to 54 primary and secondary school mental health teachers, and performed measurement on the professional identity of the teachers in the experimental group and the control group with “Teachers’ Professional Identity Questionnaire”. The result shows that after the training there is a significant improvement in the professional identity of the teachers in the experimental group, and the teachers’ scores on the four dimensions of profession identity: the sense of role, the professional behavioral tendency, the occupational values, and the sense of belonging, all increased significantly. This indicates that the curriculum intervention for the primary and secondary school mental health teachers could effectively improve the teachers’ professional identity.

Professionalism education of OB/GYN resident physicians: What makes a difference?

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of a new Professionalism curriculum in an Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) residency after introducing Narrative Medicine and Professional Development/Support Group (PDSG) programs. Methods: 32 OB/GYN residents participated in this IRB approved pilot study. Twenty residents were assessed with the Barry Challenges to Professionalism Questionnaire (Barry), the Jefferson Scale of Empathy-Physician Version (JSE), and the Jefferson Scale of Attitudes Toward Physician-Nurse Collaboration (JSAT) in August 2010, as controls. Five Narrative Medicine sessions and four PDSG sessions were then used from August 2010-May 2011, for resident physician professionalism education. Seventeen residents then underwent post-testing with the Barry, JSE, and JSAT in May 2011. Results: The pre-test/post-test Barry comparison showed an improvement in scores after introduction of the new Narrative Medicine and PDSG curriculum (7.6 +/- 2.1 versus 8.4 +/- 1.6;p = 0.10) though this was not statistically significant. Pre-test/post-test comparison of JSAT scores showed a statistically significant decline in collaboration (52.3 +/- 4.1 versus 49.7 +/- 3.7;p = 0.028) while JSE scores showed a downward trend in empathy (109.3 +/- 10.0 versus 104.8 +/- 9.2;p = 0.086). Conclusion: Narrative Medicine and PDSG small group sessions could be an effective component of OB/GYN resident physician Professionalism curriculum. This pilot project was underpowered, due to limited resources.

Introductory course in accounting-Factors affecting the choice of students＇ consideration

This study attempts to investigate if and how students＇ perceptions regarding the first accounting course related with the selection of accounting as a major. Moreover, it examines students＇ initial perceptions and course performance regarding the introductory accounting course. Participants in this study were 120 students from Technological Educational Institute of Kavala, School of Business and Economics （3 departments）, who were asked to complete a survey instrument. The instrument used eleven statements regarding students＇ perceptions （such as difficulty and motivation of the course） of the first accounting course. The main factors affect students＇ decisions to follow accounting and seem to be similar with other researchers＇ findings （Geiger ＆ Ogilby, 2000）. Future research could be used larger sample from different countries and the survey could also be used for a longer time period.
