The Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China has issued three guideline documents to encourage inquiry teaching to help students develop their ability to question,which is a defining feature of critica...The Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China has issued three guideline documents to encourage inquiry teaching to help students develop their ability to question,which is a defining feature of critical thinking.Two of the documents have clearly stated that English subject teaching should focus on building students’thinking capacity.Critical thinking is an essential feature of building thinking capacity and a key element of the core competencies the English subject seeks to cultivate.This research measures the performance of students of two high school classes in the exams conducted at the beginning,in the middle,and at the end of the experiment period during which inquiry teaching was applied to enhance students’critical thinking ability.The experiment results show that inquiry teaching can improve students’academic performance in English study and help them better develop their language skills.The implementation of the inquiry design in teaching listening,reading,and writing conforms to the law that governs the development of critical thinking,and the adoption of inquiry teaching can promote the development of critical thinking.展开更多
This study proposes a batch rapid quantitative analysis method for multiple elements by combining the advantages of standard curve(SC)and calibration-free laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy(CF-LIBS)technology to ach...This study proposes a batch rapid quantitative analysis method for multiple elements by combining the advantages of standard curve(SC)and calibration-free laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy(CF-LIBS)technology to achieve synchronous,rapid,and accurate measurement of elements in a large number of samples,namely,SC-assisted CF-LIBS.Al alloy standard samples,divided into calibration and test samples,were applied to validate the proposed method.SC was built based on the characteristic line of Pb and Cr in the calibration sample,and the contents of Pb and Cr in the test sample were calculated with relative errors of 6%and 4%,respectively.SC built using Cr with multiple characteristic lines yielded better calculation results.The relative contents of ten elements in the test sample were calculated using CF-LIBS.Subsequently,the SC-assisted CF-LIBS was executed,with the majority of the calculation relative errors falling within the range of 2%-5%.Finally,the Al and Na contents of the Al alloy were predicted.The results demonstrate that it effectively enables the rapid and accurate quantitative analysis of multiple elements after a single-element SC analysis of the tested samples.Furthermore,this quantitative analysis method was successfully applied to soil and Astragalus samples,realizing an accurate calculation of the contents of multiple elements.Thus,it is important to advance the LIBS quantitative analysis and its related applications.展开更多
Our study aims to take a closer look at China's current information literacy(IL) program standards at secondary schools and to analyze their level of success and/or failures in a comparative way with those of the ...Our study aims to take a closer look at China's current information literacy(IL) program standards at secondary schools and to analyze their level of success and/or failures in a comparative way with those of the United States in terms of fulfilling their each other's mission-oriented mandates. Our research findings show that China's current IL standards of high schools contain a disproportionate emphasis on information technology(IT). Moreover, the stipulations of these IL standards are narrowly construed and without being solidly grounded on a broad and comprehensive educational perspective. We also suggest that there are two underlying causes for this set of unsound IL standards in China.Firstly, there is a lack of collaboration between two major competing forces engaged in the curricular development and research of IL in China: Those professionals in educational IT discipline vis-à-vis those in Library and Information Science. Secondly, library professionals have a very limited influence on major socio-cultural policies, even at their own institutions. As a result, this paper recommends the following three possible measures,which may help remedy this situation strategically: 1) Establishing a set of new IL curriculum standards based on an IL-centered educational perspective; 2) establishing a teacher-librarian's training program to promote school librarians' role in IL education; and 3) strengthening the research and development of an online IL education program and an accompanied evaluation mechanism.展开更多

The study develops a statistical analysis of frequencies, aiming to find an importance stratification of the professional and personal characteristics in the employers' demands. The study groups the job advertisements into three categories: for financial accounting, managerial accounting and audit, and seeks to identify specific curriculum descriptors for these categories of professional development. At the same time, the study does a frequency analysis of curriculum descriptors and job execution, comparatively to the management jobs, attempting to do a hierarchy of professional and personal skills, depending on the wording of notices by employers. The conclusions of the report attempts to be a synthesis of the study assumptions results that lead to the idea that the curricular programs of the universities of this profile, though responding in terms of theoretical knowledge, should be extended in practice, but particularly in the personal skills development, which are defining in a competitive selection process.展开更多

Cordycepin,which has great immunomodulatory activities such as anticancer,antifungal,antivirus,antileukemia and lipid-lowering ones,is the secondary metabolite of Cordyceps militaris(C.militaris).Liquid submerged ferm...Cordycepin,which has great immunomodulatory activities such as anticancer,antifungal,antivirus,antileukemia and lipid-lowering ones,is the secondary metabolite of Cordyceps militaris(C.militaris).Liquid submerged fermentation is the common cultivation process to produce cordycepin.To optimize the fermentation process and improve production,monitoring the cordycepin secretion in the fermentation is essential.The measurement based on chromatography-mass spectrometry methods is generally involved in the complex sample pretreatments and time-consuming separation,so more rapid and convenient methods are required.Matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization mass spectrometry(MALDI-MS)is more attractive for faster and direct detection.Therefore,MALDI-MS detection combined with isotope-labeled internal standard was applied to the measurement of cordycepin content in the fermentation broth and mycelium.This method made accurate quantification of cordycepin in the range of 5-400μg/mL with a relative standard deviation of 5.6%.The recovery rates of fermentation samples after the 1,13,and 25 days were 90.15%,94.27%,and 95.06%,respectively.The contents of cordycepin in the mycelium and fermentation broth were 136 mg/g and 148.39 mg/mL on the 20 th culture day,respectively.The cordycepin secretion curve of the liquid fermentation of C.militaris was real-time traced over 25 days.展开更多

If a metabolite is quantified without a reference standard, t...During LC-MS quantitation of drugs for pharmacokinetic assessment, usually metabolites are not quantified due to the unavailability of reference standards. If a metabolite is quantified without a reference standard, then it is assumed that the LC-MS response to a drug is similar to that of its metabolite and the standard curve, of the parent compound, is used to quantitate the metabolite. This approach could result in an over or underestimation of the metabolite. To evaluate the impact of mobile phase composition on LC-MS response, the mobile phases were interchanged between methanol, acetonitrile and a 50/50 mixture of methanol/acetonitrile. UHPLC flow rates were varied from 200-500 μL/min, with and without the addition of reverse composition of mobile phases, at the parent drug retention time. This change was necessary to achieve uniform MS responses for drugs and their metabolites. In this study, HRMS data, obtained using orbi-trap, resulted in a linear response over a wider dynamic range than that obtained using the linear ion trap. Overall, the parameters, required for achieving standard free quantitation, are dependent upon the mobile phase composition and LC flow rates.展开更多

文摘A plasmid containing target DNA and a standard curve for real-time quantitative PCR of the cold-induced Cor3 gene of Volvariella volvacea were constructed. These will provide the basis for further research on Cor3 gene expression at low temperature, and ultimately for assigning a role for the gene in the low temperature autolysis of V. volvacea.
文摘With the deepening of educational reform,interdisciplinary thematic learning,as an emerging educational model,has become a focus of attention in the field of educational research.Based on the STEM(science,technology,engineering,and mathematics)education concept and CASES-T(Content,Activity,Situation,Evaluation,Strategy-Target)model,this study provides a theoretical basis for the teaching design and implementation of interdisciplinary thematic learning in middle school physical education.Through the analysis of specific interdisciplinary thematic learning cases,it aims to provide theoretical support and practical guidance for the reform of middle school physical education through the CASES-T model-based interdisciplinary thematic teaching design research in middle school physical education,in order to enhance students’learning effects,cultivate core literacy in physical education,and promote students’all-round development.
文摘The influence of the selection of receiving slits and the use of standard samples with random orientation on the result of quantitative texture analysis was tested and discussed. The result proves that it will improve the precision of the analysis to use proper slits and a randomly oriented standard sample. A simple method was given to interpolate the correction curves of random intensities.

文摘In South Korea,the vocational education and training institutions,such as the vocational colleges,the vocational high schools,and the vocational training institutions is applying the National Competency Standards(NCS).NCS is function as a key link in development of the human resource development(HRD),linking work,education and training,and qualifications by analyzing and presenting systematically the job demands of the industrial field.The 4-year universities that focus generally on the theoretical studies do not yet have applied NCS in South Korea.However,in the case of 4-year universities,the importance of professional education is emphasized by being derived and independed from more precise the individual science through the advancement of science and technology,and the division of social functions.Therefore,it is desirable to apply NCS to improve the practical expertise of 4-year university students.For this purpose,this study aims to compare the curriculum of national K-University and the NCS contents,and to find out how to apply it to the curriculum of 4-year universities in order to bring about the functions and the characteristics of education and training.
文摘At the present time,new state compulsory standards for school education,standard curricula,and curricula have been developed.The programs of higher and postgraduate education do not take into account changes in educational curricula of secondary education.The future specialists of pedagogical universities are teachers of the school.Therefore,graduates of universities on pedagogical specialties,including scientific direction,should be profoundly aware of the content of subjects studied in secondary education.It is very important to understand the need to ensure the continuity of educational curricula of higher pedagogical and general secondary education in conditions of updating the content of education.The relevance of the research topic is due to the lack of continuity in the educational programs of higher pedagogical and general secondary education in conditions of updating the content of education;discrepancy of professional competences of young pedagogical staff,graduates of higher educational institutions,to the conditions of the updated content of school education;the lack of fundamental and applied research to date,considering the theoretical and methodological foundations for ensuring the continuity of natural science education in the“school-university”system in the context of updating the content of education;the need for the research in the context of the implementation of the State Program for the Development of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2016-2019,which indicates an increase in the prestige of the profession of teachers and an increase in their quality.These theoretical and methodological bases for ensuring the continuity of educational programs of higher pedagogical and secondary education in conditions of updating the content of education will make it possible to introduce changes in the educational curricula of higher and postgraduate education for the training of pedagogical personnel.
文摘This study represents empirical research that aims to investigate how the labor market for the financial-accounting segment in Romania requires professional and personal skills developed within the accounting education curriculum in the Romanian universities of this profile, or these produce young practitioners inappropriate from the curricular point of view to the employers' demands. The study develops a statistical analysis of frequencies, aiming to find an importance stratification of the professional and personal characteristics in the employers' demands. The study groups the job advertisements into three categories: for financial accounting, managerial accounting and audit, and seeks to identify specific curriculum descriptors for these categories of professional development. At the same time, the study does a frequency analysis of curriculum descriptors and job execution, comparatively to the management jobs, attempting to do a hierarchy of professional and personal skills, depending on the wording of notices by employers. The conclusions of the report attempts to be a synthesis of the study assumptions results that lead to the idea that the curricular programs of the universities of this profile, though responding in terms of theoretical knowledge, should be extended in practice, but particularly in the personal skills development, which are defining in a competitive selection process.
文摘A bridge project is taken as an example to analyze the application of bearing capacity detection and evaluation.This article provides a basic overview of the project,the application of bearing capacity detection technology,and the bearing capacity assessment analysis.It is hoped that this analysis can provide a scientific reference for the load-bearing capacity detection and evaluation work in bridge engineering projects,thereby achieving a scientific assessment of the overall load-bearing capacity of the bridge engineering structure.

文摘Quantitative evaluation was conducted on rural tourist resources in Xichang City by national standard resources grading method and analytic hierarchy process. It was concluded that rural tourist resources in Xichang City were diversified in resources type and high in resources value and there were excellent rural tourist resources. The study provided a scientific and quantitative evaluation for reasonable development of rural tourism.

文摘Cordycepin,which has great immunomodulatory activities such as anticancer,antifungal,antivirus,antileukemia and lipid-lowering ones,is the secondary metabolite of Cordyceps militaris(C.militaris).Liquid submerged fermentation is the common cultivation process to produce cordycepin.To optimize the fermentation process and improve production,monitoring the cordycepin secretion in the fermentation is essential.The measurement based on chromatography-mass spectrometry methods is generally involved in the complex sample pretreatments and time-consuming separation,so more rapid and convenient methods are required.Matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization mass spectrometry(MALDI-MS)is more attractive for faster and direct detection.Therefore,MALDI-MS detection combined with isotope-labeled internal standard was applied to the measurement of cordycepin content in the fermentation broth and mycelium.This method made accurate quantification of cordycepin in the range of 5-400μg/mL with a relative standard deviation of 5.6%.The recovery rates of fermentation samples after the 1,13,and 25 days were 90.15%,94.27%,and 95.06%,respectively.The contents of cordycepin in the mycelium and fermentation broth were 136 mg/g and 148.39 mg/mL on the 20 th culture day,respectively.The cordycepin secretion curve of the liquid fermentation of C.militaris was real-time traced over 25 days.
文摘During LC-MS quantitation of drugs for pharmacokinetic assessment, usually metabolites are not quantified due to the unavailability of reference standards. If a metabolite is quantified without a reference standard, then it is assumed that the LC-MS response to a drug is similar to that of its metabolite and the standard curve, of the parent compound, is used to quantitate the metabolite. This approach could result in an over or underestimation of the metabolite. To evaluate the impact of mobile phase composition on LC-MS response, the mobile phases were interchanged between methanol, acetonitrile and a 50/50 mixture of methanol/acetonitrile. UHPLC flow rates were varied from 200-500 μL/min, with and without the addition of reverse composition of mobile phases, at the parent drug retention time. This change was necessary to achieve uniform MS responses for drugs and their metabolites. In this study, HRMS data, obtained using orbi-trap, resulted in a linear response over a wider dynamic range than that obtained using the linear ion trap. Overall, the parameters, required for achieving standard free quantitation, are dependent upon the mobile phase composition and LC flow rates.
