Numerical Simulation of the Relationship between the Anomaly of Subtropical High over East Asia and the Convective Activities in the Western Tropical Pacific

In this paper, a close relationship between the intraseasonal variation of subtropical high over East Asia and the convective activities around the South China Sea and the Philippines is analysed from OLR data.This relationship is studied by using the theory of wave propagating in a slowly varying medium and by using a quasi-geoslrophic, linear, spherical model and the IAP-GCM, respectively. The results show that when the SST is warming around the western tropical Pacific or the Philippines, the convective activities are intensified around the Philippines. As a consequence, the subtropical high will be intensified over East Asia. The computed results also show that when the anomaly of convective activities are caused around the Philippines, a teleconnection pattern of circulation anomalies will be caused over South Asia, East Asia and North America.

The relationship between tidal current field and sediment transport in the Huanghai Sea and the Bohai Sea

-Based on a two-dimensional numerical M2 tidal model of the Huanghai and Bohai Seas, sediment transport of particles with different sizes in the computational area is given. It is concluded that tidal currents play an important role in sediment transport and deposition in the Huanghai and Bohai Seas.

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE INVASION OF PARAPHARYNGEAL SPACES AND THE INVOLVEMENT OF CERVICAL NODES AND POSTERIOR GROUP CRANIAL NERVES IN NASOPHARYNGEAL CARCINOMA

Two hundred cates of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) admitted to this department from Feb. 1985 to May. 1988 were analysed according to the CT scanning and clinical findings of the primary lesions prior to radiotherapy. The results showed that involvement of parapharyngeal space was very common in NPC, about 80% (160/200 cases) ; particularly unilateral or bilateral retro-styloid spaces, about 69.5% (139/200 cases). It was proposed that patients with NPC had a high Incidence of ipsilateral cervical node metastasis. Contralateral cervical node metastasis was rare. The development of cervical node metastasto in NPC has two modes: one Is direct Infiltration of the retro-stylold space by the lesion; the other Is along the nasopharyngeal lymphatic rete. The data also showed that patients with NPC who presented symptoms of Ⅸ- Ⅲ cranial nerve paralyses always had ipsilateral or bilateral retro- styloid space Infiltrations.

The Relationship between Working Conditions and Adverse Health Symptoms of Employee in Solar Greenhouse

A PRELIMINARY STUDY ON THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MURINE IgE LEVEL AND 3-METHYL-CHOLANTHRENE INDUCED FIBROSARCOMA

The relationship between murine IgE, IgG, and IgG1 level and birosarcoma induced by 3-Methyl-cholanthrene in NIH mice was studied. The results showed that IgE, IgG or IgGl had no significant effect on tumor incidence; the high IgE level could extend the survival time of 3-Methylcholanthrene injected mice (P<0.05) and survival time of tumor bearing mice (P<0.01), while IgG or IgGl could not. The data from this study did not show that IgE, IgG or IgGl had any significant effect on the tumor size and the tumor growth rate. The probable mechanism involved was discussed.

A DISCUSSION ON THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE IMPACT TOUGHNESS AND THE FRACTURE TOUGHNESS

The impact value (AK) measured with classic impact experiment of mechanical properties is a normal index from the five important basic mechanical properties for engineering, but it still has no definite physical meaning. By use of the advanced impact experimental machine, the load-deflection signals under impact loading have been measured. According to the load-deflection curve of 30CrMnSiA steel obtained by this method, the AK value could be divided into the elastic deformation work, the plastic deformation work, the crack forming work, the work of crack propagation and the work of unstable crack propagation. Therefore, we can obtain the expression for the continuous changing of stress and strain under impact load. In this experiment, specimens with three different breaches, U type, V type and linear grooving, are used and the dynamic fracture toughness value (KDIC) of 30CrMnSiA steel is treated and calculated which follows the measuring method of material static fracture toughness, as ASTM E399. The experimental results verify that these impact specimens with three different breaches are satisfactory for plane strain relation under impact load. For high strength 30CrMnSiA steel, the maximum load of load-deflection curve under impact load can represent the unstable propagation load of crack. The precision of the calculated fracture toughness (KDIC) meets the engineering requirement of materials.

Studies on the Relationship between the Helical Structure and Optical Activity of Some Chiral Cyclic Esters Ⅱ

A method for the analysis of the relationship between the helical structure and optical activity was proposed by the study of the conformations and X-ray diffraction structures of some cyclic esters prepared by esterification of L-(-)-2.3-O-methylidene threitol and L-(+)-2,3-O-isopropplidene threitol with alkanedioyl dichlorides and o-,m-,and p-phthaloyl dichlorides.

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SEROSAL TYPES, PATHOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS AND FREE CANCER CELLS IN THE PERITONEAL CAVITY OF GASTRIC CANCER PATIENTS

The relationship between free cancer cells and the pathological characteristics of gastric cancer were studied. Of 100 cases of gastric cancer, free cancer cells in the peritoneal cavity were detected in 32 cases (32%). Free cancer cells were most often found in tendonoid (62.2%) and colour diffused (60.0%) serosal types. When the area of serosal invasion was over 20 cm, the positive free cancer cell rate was 56.6% and only 2.5% if below 20 cm. Free cancer cells were related to the depth of cancer infiltration, often found in the S2 and S3 invasion layers, as well as to the pathological characteristics of gastric cancer. Free cancer cells were often seen in infiltrated type cancer, histologically poorly differentiated or undifferentiated adenocarcinoma. and nest or diffused growth types. In patients without peritoneal metastasis (P0), the positive rate was 26.1%. This study proved that Chen's serosal classification is correct and useful in assessing whether the cancer cells have penetrated through the serosa or not during surgery. Different treatments should be used in the cases with different serosal types. In addition to surgery, destruction of free cancer cells should be considered in tendonoid and colour diffused serosal types, so as to prevent peritoneal metastasis.

The Relationship between Microtexture Types and Indices of Physico-Mechanical Properties of Loess in China

The results of study demonstrate that the study of microtextures of loess is of importance in the prediction and preliminary evaluation of engineering geological properties of loess in a region.

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE ERYTHROCYTE POLYAMINE LEVELS AND THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF LEUKEMIA

In a study on erythrocyte polyamine levels in 20 leukemia patients and 18 healthy individuals, following results were obtained. Putrescine(Pu) in ery-throcytes was nearly undetectable but in 2 AMoL patients; Spermidine(Spd) level in ALL was higher than the control volue (P<0.05), in AML (M1, M2) and APL the Spd level was in the range of control group (P>0.1), while that in AMoL and AMMoL was considerably lower as compared to control (P< 0.001); Spermine (Spm) level in all types of leukemia was increased (P<0.001); Spd/Spm ratio was significantly decreased, showing 1.525 in control group, 0.938 in ALL (P<0.025), 0.779 in AML (M1, M2) P< 0.01), 0.319 in APL (P<0.001) and 0.296 in AMoL & AMMoL (P<0.001), and the differences between the Spd/Spm ratio in AMoL and AMMoL and in ALL were noted (P<0.05). These results suggested that determination of erythrocyte polyamines in leukemia patients may be helpful in diagnosis, differential diagnosis and prognosis.

A FIVE-YEAR PROSPECTIVE STUDY ON THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN GARLIC AND GASTRIC CANCER

A prospective study on the relationship between garlic and gastric cancer of 4552 subjects was made from Oct., 1980 through 1985. The volunteers, aged 50-59, were healthy males and came from different incidence areas of gastric cancer where they lived for long periods. The result of this study showed that the death rates of gastric cancer in < 2500 g and >500 g groups of annual garlic intake were 10.40/ 10000 and 0, respectively. The relative risk of gastric cancer was significantly much higher in the former than in the latter, and showed a dose-response relationship. Protective effect of garlic for the population equal annual garlic intake was roughly the same in different districts. It was further confirmed that garlic played important role in preventing gastric cancer and had no regional differences.

Objectives To evaluate the relationship of renal dysfunction,coronary heart disease and percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI).Methods(l)The subjects:There were 376 patients who come from department of cardiology of our hospital in this study undergoing coronary angiography.The patients were divided into two groups? according to coronary angiography:coronary artery disease(group A,n =263),in which 141 patients with renal dysfunction(group A1) and 122 patients with normal renal function(group A2):patients with other kinds of cardiovascular disease but normal coronary angiography(group B.n=113).Before the coronary angiography, all patients were measured the serum creatinine, microalbuminuria,fasting blood-glucose,triglycerides,total cholesterol,high density lipoprotein,low density lipoprotein, blood pressure in fasting 12 hours.(2)The diagnostic criteria for renal dysfunction:male serum creatinine】115 umol/L and/or microalbuminuria】30 mg,female】107 umol/L and/ or】30 mg.Results(1)The differences of renal function indexes in the group A and B:The mean level of microalbuminuria and serum creatinine was higher significantly in group A than that of the group B(43.48±38.93 vs.11.23±7.07 and 101.52±37.22 vs.80.62±17.4 respectively.Conclusions The coronary heart disease patients with renal dysfunction had more severe coronary artery stenosis,The renal dysfunction is a strong and independent risk factors for the coronary heart disease and beeds more revascularization therapy.
