Between the Heaven and Human Beings: On the Idea of the Heaven and the Transformation of Poetry in the Mid-Tang Dynasty

The relationship between the Heaven and human beings is a central issue in the transformation of Confucianism in the Mid-Tang Dynasty.The discourses on the Heaven by Han Yu,Liu Zongyuan,and Liu Yuxi helped to promote the transformation and greatly influenced the transformation in literature.The differences in the poetry among the three authors may also be interpreted from the perspective of their perceptions of the Heaven—Han Yu’s discourse on the Heaven focused on the enemy-relationship between the Heaven and human beings,so his poems always showed tension and loss.Liu Zongyuan was interested in the alienation between the heaven and human beings,so his poems were more rational and placid than Han Yu’s.However,Liu Yuxi’s discourse on the Heaven paid attention to the positive influence of the Heaven on human beings,and most of his poems were filled with reason.The changes in the relationship between the Heaven and human beings lead to the broadened themes,innovated vocabulary,diversified styles,and varied fresh imageries.Likewise,the relationship between the Heaven and human beings established in the Song Dynasty led accordingly to a new type of literature different from the Tang literature.

Robot and its living space:A roadmap for robot development based on the view of living space

Robot’s living space Human-robot relationship Robot humanization Hybrid intelligence Human-robot integrated society Robots,as the creation of humans,became an irreplaceable component in human society.With the advancement of technologies,robots have become more and more intelligent and have been widely used in many fields,such as disease diagnosis,customer services,healthcare for the older people,and so on.As robots made our lives much more convenient than ever before,they also brought many potential risks and challenges in technology,security,and ethic.To better understand the development of robots,we proposed a concept of a robot’s living space and analyzed the role of robots in our society.In this paper,we focus on setting a theoretical framework of the robot’s living space to further understand the human-robot relationship.The research in this paper contains three central aspects.First,we interpret the concept of the robot’s living space and the functions of each space.Second,we analyze and summarize the relative technologies which support robots living well in each space.Finally,we provide advice and improvement measures based on a discussion of potential problems caused by the developments of robots.With the trend of robots humanization and human-robot society integration,we should seriously consider how to collaborate with intelligent robots to achieve hybrid intelligence.To build a harmonious human-robot integrated society,studying the robot’s living space and its relationship with humans is the prerequisite and roadmap.

Urban flood control strategy based on new relationship of human and flood

China is one of the countries with the most serious flooding disasters.In China,above 70% of big cities,50% of population and 75% of industrial and agricultural output value are distributed in eastern coastal areas with serious flooding.Therefore,enhancement of theoretical study and experience summarization of urban flood control is of great theoretical and practical significance.As economy is developing rapidly,urban scale is expanding fast,and urban flood control stand is promoted.Urban flood control calls for new concept and methods.This paper makes a systematic summarization of concept evolution and advanced methods concerning urban flood control at home and abroad.The concept of urban flood control has transformed from simple flood control and drainage to coexistence with and use of flood.Flood control measures have transferred form emphasis upon engineering ones to priority to both engineering and non-engineering ones,with special attention to ecological flood control,such as making full use of ecological revetment,ecological realignment of a river,multi-objective management of urban flood detention region,turning flood into resources and utilization of wetlands.

Design,synthesis and biological evaluation of selective survivin inhibitors

The differential distribution between cancer cells and normal adult tissues makes survivin a very attractive cancer drug target. We have previously reported a series of novel selective survivin inhibitors with the most potent compound MX 106 reaching nanomolar activity in several cancer cell lines. Further optimization of the MX 106 scaffold leads to the discovery of more potent and more selective survivin inhibitors. Various structural modifications were synthesized and their anticancer activities were evaluated to determine the structure activity relationships for this MX 106 scaffold. In vitro anti-proliferative assays using two human melanoma cell lines showed that several new analogs have improved potency compared to MX 106. Very interestingly, these new analogs generally showed significantly higher potency against P-glycoprotein overexpressed cells compared with the corresponding parental cells, suggesting that these compounds may strongly sensitize tumors that have high expressions of the Pglycoprotein drug efflux pumps. Western blotting analysis confirmed that the new MX 106 analogs maintained their mechanism of actions by selectively suppressing survivin expression level among major inhibitors of apoptotic proteins and induced strong apoptosis in melanoma tumor cells.

The Tree of Death and Eternal Life

The ＂Tree of Death＂ is a metaphor I use to unlock my Christian assumptions on how the dead attain eternal existence in the afterlife state. The tree＇s unconcealedness, in this life and presumably the next, along with the moral habits an agent develops in this life explain the obstinacy of the dead, that is, how the agent＇s irrevocable decision to side with the God of Abraham, or not, is possible. For that to be the case, the existential relationships that generate personal identity in this life must accompany （individuate） the subject in the next life. In Christian philosophy, the person-making process mirrors the relationships of the Blessed Trinity. While Martin Heidegger is not a Christian philosopher, his view on truth and being＇s unconcealedness provides a useful piece of the argument to continue the Thomistic case for personal immortality. Heidegger is not a catholic philosopher, but the focus he places on being＇s unconcealedness is consonant with the focus Thomas Aquinas puts on the intelligibility of being. While Heidegger＇s discussion of being is rooted in Dasein＇s finitude, the Thomistic interpretation of being situates unconcealedness within the perspective of God＇s creative act. His vision resets the possibility of applying Heidegger＇s fundamental ontology beyond temporality. The paper develops through a discussion of the Tree＇s ＂branches, trunk, and roots＂ to conclude that the Christian perspective transforms Heidegger＇s view of death into ＂the ultimate possibility of possibility.＂

CHARACTERISTICS OF MUCINS AND CEA IN GLOBOID DYSPLASTIC CELLS OF HUMAN STOMACH AND ITS RELATIONSHIP WITH SIGNET RING CELL CARCINOMA

Fourty-three cases of globoid dysplasia and signet ring cell carcinoma were stained by mucin and CEA (ABC method). It was found that there were three kinds of mucins (neutral, sialo and sulphomucin in both globoid dysplastic cells and signet ring cells. The percentages of the three kinds of mucins seen in the two kinds of cells were not much different. It was indicated that the altered mucins in the gastric epithelial cells must be a sign of dedifferentiation of the cells and the results of malfunction. The globoid dysplasia type I mainly contained neutral mucin, whereas type II, the acid mucin was predominant, especially the sulphomucin. The CEA positive reaction became stronger as the atypia being remarkable, and the characteristics of distribution of CEA positive particles were similar in the two kinds of cells namely, randomly or disorderly in the cells. Based on the analysis of the results, a conclusion can be made that the variety of mucins in globoid dysplastic cells can be used as a reference point in classification and is not much significant in grading, but the amount of CEA positive matter can be a reference point in grading. The globoid dysplasia is such a lesion with special features in morphology and function manifested in the process of de-differentiation towards signet ring cell carcinoma following the successive action of carcinogens upon the cells of gastric epithelium.

Present land use and cover patterns and their development potential in North Ningxia

With the objectives to acquire the fundamental dat a of the territorial resource, understand the impacts of human activit ies on the land use and cover patterns and evaluate the potential of the future exploitation, an intensive land cover classification with an accuracy of 93% has been completed for North Ningxia by remote sen sing technique based on the adoption of a combination method composed o f texture training, maximum likelihood classification and post-processing such as re-allocation and aggregation. This classification result was incorporated with the contemporaneous socio-economic and meteorological d ata for cross-sectional regression modelling to reveal the spatial dete rminants of the land cover patterns and understand the human-environmen tal relationships. A tentative evaluation on the potential of soil exp loitation in the near future was carried out in combination with our land use and cover change detection results aiming at supplying some useful references for the central and local governments in their sustainable l and use planning.

区域水平衡及失衡程度度量方法

区域水平衡量化及诊断是水网工程建设优化和水资源均衡调控的基础,对提升水安全保障能力、支撑经济社会稳定发展、实现人水和谐具有重要意义。本文从空间、时间、结构、过程、总量五个维度解构了区域人水系统的四大平衡,即反映水收入项和支出项定量关系的水收支平衡、体现经济社会供水量与需水量匹配关系的经济社会供需水平衡、结合经济社会-生态系统发展与用水定量关系的经济社会与生态用水平衡、表征人水系统发展状态的人水关系和谐平衡,并提出相应的水平衡度量方法。多角度解析了区域水平衡的失衡状态,提出四大平衡的失衡程度度量方法及区域水平衡的失衡程度综合度量方法。以沁河流域为实例应用和检验了上述方法,结果表明:提出的度量方法具有科学性和适用性,能够应用于区域水平衡研究实践;2019年沁河流域水平衡的失衡度为0.327,处于蓄水量减少、水资源短缺、生态端亏水、水系统受损的中度失衡状态,后续应注重人类涉水行为的管控。研究成果可为区域水平衡评估与调控提供理论支撑,服务国家或区域水平衡策略制定和水网工程规划。
