The relationship between attribute performance and customer satisfaction: an interpretable machine learning approach

Understanding the relationship between attribute performance(AP)and customer satisfaction(CS)is crucial for the hospitality industry.However,accurately modeling this relationship remains challenging.To address this issue,we propose an interpretable machine learning-based dynamic asymmetric analysis(IML-DAA)approach that leverages interpretable machine learning(IML)to improve traditional relationship analysis methods.The IML-DAA employs extreme gradient boosting(XGBoost)and SHapley Additive exPlanations(SHAP)to construct relationships and explain the significance of each attribute.Following this,an improved version of penalty-reward contrast analysis(PRCA)is used to classify attributes,whereas asymmetric impact-performance analysis(AIPA)is employed to determine the attribute improvement priority order.A total of 29,724 user ratings in New York City collected from TripAdvisor were investigated.The results suggest that IML-DAA can effectively capture non-linear relationships and that there is a dynamic asymmetric effect between AP and CS,as identified by the dynamic AIPA model.This study enhances our understanding of the relationship between AP and CS and contributes to the literature on the hotel service industry.

Monitor and Acceptance among Couples in Romantic Relationships:Actor-Partner Interdependence Models Based on the Monitor and Acceptance Theory

Communication could be an essential part of couples in their daily life.Based on Monitor and Acceptance Theory(MAT),the present study explored the mediating role of communication in the relationship between mindfulness and relationship quality among college-student couples.The research examined the dynamic relationship of monitoring and acceptance to relationship satisfaction in the Actor-Partner Interdependence Model(APIM),and the mediating effect of positive or negative communications in these relationships.A total of 96 pairs of couples in the universities in Nanjing,China participated in the research.Momentary measurements were used to measure the momentary levels of their monitor,acceptance,positive/negative communication,and relationship satisfaction.A Hierarchical Linear Model(HLM)was used to deal with the APIM.Results showed that the women’s monitor facet of state mindfulness negatively predicted men’s relationship satisfaction through women’s negative communication,and the women’s acceptance facet of state mindfulness positively predicted women’s relationship satisfaction through women’s positive and negative communication at the within-person level.The study highlights the importance of cooperation in monitoring and acceptance for couples to own and hold high levels of relationship satisfaction.

The Relationship between Father-Love Absence and Loneliness:Based on the Perspective of the Social Functionalist Theory and the Social Needs Theory

Fathers play an important role in adolescents’development,which is significant for their development and influences their mental health,including feeling of loneliness.However,the effects and mechanisms of father-love absence on individual loneliness are not clear.Based on the social functionalist theory and the social needs theory,this study examines the influence of individual fatherlove absence on loneliness and its underlying mechanisms.A questionnaire survey was administered to 319 junior high school students and 1,476 high school students.The results showed that adolescents with father-love absence had higher levels of loneliness,and that father-love absence affected loneliness levels through mediating pathways of individual gratitude,peer relationships,and gratitude to peer relationships.This study not only confirms the negative effects of father-love absence on adolescents’loneliness,but also explains the mediate roles of individual gratitude and peer relationships.It enriches the theoretical system related to family education and has important theoretical and practical implications for further interventions on adolescents’mental health from the perspective of fatherless parenting.

In quantum mechanics, the energy of a hydrogen atom is minimized when the principal quantum number n is 1. However, the author has previously pointed out that the hydrogen atom has a state where n=0. An electron in the state where n=0has zero rest mass energy. However, a hydrogen atom has an energy level even lower than the n=0state. This is hard to accept from the standpoint of common sense. Thus, the author has previously pointed out that an electron at the energy level where n=0has zero energy because the positive energy mec2and negative energy −mec2cancel each other out. This paper elucidates the strange relationship between the momentum of a photon emitted when a hydrogen atom is formed by an electron with such characteristics, and the momentum acquired by the electron.

Interconnected Challenges: Addressing the Bidirectional Relationship between Heart Failure and Cognitive Impairment through Targeted Intervention Strategies

This paper examines the bidirectional relationship between heart failure (HF) and cognitive impairment, underscoring the need for integrated intervention strategies to address these interconnected conditions effectively. Cognitive deficits often hinder the effective management of HF, leading to poorer treatment adherence and health outcomes, while the physiological stress of HF can further impair cognitive function, creating a complex interplay that complicates patient care. This study highlights the effectiveness of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors and cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) in improving both cardiac and cognitive functions. By targeting the underlying physiological and neurobiological mechanisms of HF, these therapies enhance patient outcomes, leading to better adherence to treatment regimens and overall quality of life. Furthermore, the findings suggest that regular cognitive assessments should be integrated into HF management protocols, enabling early identification of cognitive impairment and timely intervention. Incorporating ACE inhibitors and CRT into standard care practices not only addresses the complexities of managing HF and cognitive decline but also fosters a holistic approach to patient health. Ultimately, this multifaceted strategy has the potential to significantly improve health outcomes, enhance the quality of care, and support sustainable management of patients with heart failure and cognitive impairment.

The traditional woodcut New Year pictures in Shanxi have a long history, which is a classic folk art work in China. The branch of culture it represents is the traditional culture branch in the Yellow River basin, which flourished in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, among which the Woodcut New Year pictures in the south of Shanxi are the most famous. This kind of wood-block New Year picture technology is very rich in connotation, including the use of traditional Chinese mural painting powder, powder is born in the Sui and Tang dynasties mural painting an important tool, which shows that powder in the field of Chinese traditional art to participate in the creation of a significant position, artistic value is very high. In this paper, we will specifically discuss the traditional Shanxi New Year wood-block pictures and traditional mural paintings, and deeply understand the basic concepts and characteristics of the two. Finally, this paper studies the internal subtle relationship between the two from three aspects: the remains of the works, the time of painting and literary illustrations.

Exploring the Association between Adult Attachment Styles in Romantic Relationships, Perceptions of Parents from Childhood and Relationship Satisfaction

Little research has examined how attachment styles in childhood are related to current romantic relationship experiences. The aim of this study was to explore the association between perceptions of childhood experiences with parents, attachment styles in romantic relationships, and relationship satisfaction in a sample of young adults. The sample consisted of 227 participants, 153 of which were university students and the remaining 69 were members of the general population. Of these, 177 (78%) were female and 50 (22%) were male, with an age range of 18 - 39. Participants completed a battery of self-report measures assessing their attachment style in romantic relationships, satisfaction in their current romantic relationship, and an adjective checklist describing their parents and their parent’s relationship with each other. The majority of males had an avoidant-fearful style, while females tended to have an avoidant-fearful or secure style. Findings were that participants’ descriptions of their mother, father, and parental relationship were associated with their attachment style. In terms of a current romantic relationship, those with a secure attachment style were much more likely to be in a relationship whereas those with an avoidant-fearful style were not. Secure participants were more satisfied in their relationships than the insecure styles of attachment. Finally, chi-square tests revealed that there was no association between gender and attachment style. Results were discussed in terms of methodological limitations such as the use of self-report measures;theoretical weaknesses for example the variability in the approaches used in attachment research;and future research, which included the use of longitudinal studies which may offer insight into how early parenting behaviours act as predictors of later relationship functioning.

Developing a matrix to explore the relationship between partnering and total quality management in construction

Recently, there has been an increasing awareness and implementation of practices associated with Partnering and Total Quality Management (TQM) in the construction industry. Partnering and TQM both seek to enhance construction outcomes, yet rigorous studies of Partnering and TQM have been conducted separately and have not carefully examined common or unique practices associated with these techniques. This paper presents the findings of a theoretical analysis of an integrated approach for the use of Partnering and TQM. A matrix approach has been used to explore the extent to which Partnering may improve TQM implementation in construction. The matrix is based around 3 indexes, namely; the Degree of Partnering, the Degree of TQM and the Project Success Index and enables the relationship between Partnering and TQM to be analysed quantitatively. It also assists in understanding the trends of Partnering and TQM and their relationship to project performance. The results of a case study using this matrix are also presented. It has been concluded that the integrated use of Partnering can facilitate improvements in the way TQM is implemented in construction.

Researchon the Correlativity between SevenCephalometric Indexes for Evaluation of theMaxillomandibular Sagittal Relationship

An analysis of the correlativity between seven cephalometric indexes of SN. FH and OP systems indicates that none of the systems possesses the index which can rule out the effects of other factors to evaluate objectively the sagittal relation between the jaws. In these three systems, owing to more factors affecting indexes of SN system, we suggest to use AXB or A-B/ /FH and Wit's appraisal in comprehensive analysis of the sagittal relation of the jaws, instead of the indexes of SN system. Using indexes of FH or OP system alone in evaluation of not advocated.

Ecological Relationship between Mud Crab Scylla serrata (Forskal) and Mangroves and the Pattern of Utilization

The ecological relationship between mud crab Scylla serrata(Forskal)and mangroveswas described in this paper.Mangrove swamps are important reproductive places for mud crabs,where zoeae,megalopae,juveniles from 1st to 14th instar,adult crabs and ovigerous female crabswere found.Mangrove roots and the leaf litter are the shelters of the mud crab.The zoeae andmegalopae of mud crab can normally grow and develop on the plankton and debris that are well-supplied in mangrove swamps.There are a lot of Phascolesoma,Mollusca and Crustacea whichconstitute the delicious foods of the mud crab in mangrove swamps.The larger crabs have apreference for Ostrea,Balanus and Vignadula which usually amply adhere and endanger themangroves,so the mud crab is helpful for the development of the mangrove communties.Finallya pattern of ecological culture of the mud crab in mangrove swamps was suggested.

The Relationship between Diet and Mortality of Cancer and Non-communicable Disease in Japan

Objective: To evaluate the effects of dietary factors on cancer and non-communicable diseases. Methods: A correlation analysis between the consumption of various indicator food and mortality rates of cancer or non-communicable diseases was conducted by collecting secondary data from national nutrition surveys in Japan. Results: The consumption of cereal foods, plant energy and plant protein showed a significant negative correlation with mortality of cancer, heart diseases and diabetes; negatively related to the lung cancer and colon cancer in both sexes; a strong negative correlation with mortality of rectum cancer, liver cancer and prostate cancer in males, and of breast cancer in females; and a significant positive correlation with the stomach cancer in both sexes. The consumption of animal foods, animal energy, animal protein and fat showed a strong positive correlation with cancer, heart diseases and diabetes; a positive relations to lung cancer and colon cancer in both sexes, and rectum cancer, liver cancer and prostate cancer in males and breast cancer in females. On the contrary, a strong negative correlation was found in stomach cancer in both sexes; and esophagus cancer, liver cancer and uterus cancer in females. The consumption of vegetables and fruits showed a weak negative correlation with stomach cancer. Conclusion : The results suggest that diet not only plays a significant role in increasing the risks of some kinds of cancer or non-communicable diseases but also has a preventive effect. It is very important that dietary balance should be emphasized to prevent cancer and non-com-municable diseases.

Validation of the Relationship between Precipitable Water and Surface Vapor Pressure by Means of Reanalysis Data

By means of ERA-40, JRA-25, NCEP/NCAR and NCEP/DOE reanalysis data, empirical relations between precipitable water and surface vapor pressure in spatial and temporal scale were calculated. The reliabilities of precipitable water from reanalysis data were validated based on comparing different W-e empirical relations of various reanalysis data, in order to provide basis and reference for reasonable application. The results showed that W-e empirical relation of ERA-40 was closest to that of sounding data in China, and precipitable water from ERA-40 was the most credible. The worldwide comparison among W-e empirical relations of four reanalysis data showed that there was little difference in annual mean W-e empirical relations in the middle latitudes and great differences in low and high latitudes. Seasonal mean W-e empirical relations in the middle latitudes of the northern Hemisphere had little difference in spring, autumn and winter, but great difference in summer. Therefore, the reliabilities of precipitable water from reanalysis data in spring, autumn and winter in the middle latitudes of the northern hemisphere were higher than other areas and seasons. W-e empirical relations of NCEP/NCAR and NCEP/DOE had good stability in different years, while there was poor stability in ERA-40 and JRA-25.
