"Moby Dick"is an in-depth spiritual exploration about beliefs,religion,fate and nature with multi-layered meanings.This novel is based on a whale-hunting adventure,which turns out to be actually a vengeance-seeking voyage.The plot is very simple,yet the meaning behind it is far from simple.Applying symbolism,Melville depicts a hostile relationship between men and nature,which is spotlighted by the conflict between Captain Ahab and Moby Dick.This thesis deals with the relationship between men and nature as presented in the novel,the symbolic meaning that Melville intends to convey and his attitude towards the ideal relationship between men and nature.

Both booksnot only harshly criticize the monarchy, take the lead in appealing for liberty, equality and democra-cy, but also give a creative explanation of universe -man relationship which is the basic issue of Chi-nese thought, promote the transformation of traditional cosmology and morality toward a new worldoutlook, social outlook and values, and lay the foundation for ontology and methodology of new ide-as and new theories. Both books have the ＂Prejudice＂ given by Chinese traditional culture,but be-cause of their ideological resources, thinking coordinates and methodological path differences, theyconstitute a certain relationship of contrast and complementarity in theory. Therefore, conducting amore in - depth analysis and summing up the achievements and limitations of them are enough toprovide valuable lessons for us in ＂restarting the thinking of universe -man＂ in today＇s era.

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MAN AND NATURE IN TRADITIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS CONCEPTS OF CHINA AND WEST

As the process of economic globalization gathers momentum, dialogue between different cultures has become extremely important. There should be dialogue between the Chinese and Western cultures under the principle of equality and mutual respect and understanding to increase consensus for mutual development.

The Impact of Family Relationships on the Smoking Habits of University Students

Smoking habits are thought to be strongly impacted by family relationships. In this study, we looked specifically at family relationships with the aim of finding effective anti-smoking education measures. We surveyed 290 university students in order to establish their current smoking habits, along with their family relationships from primary and junior high school until now. The results showed that students with one or more smokers in their family were clearly more likely to smoke. Furthermore, a poor relationship between the student’s parents and a poor relationship with his/her father are believed to have a causal relationship with the student smoking. In the section in which students were asked how often they were told to study, we found that students who smoked had been instructed to study a significantly higher number of times. It is believed that the stress experienced by students frequently told that they must study during their elementary or junior high school years leads to a tendency to smoke. Among the group of non-smokers, we found many who ate breakfast with their parents during elementary or junior high school, along with many who regularly went on holidays with their families. The lack of these things appears to distance parents from children and may be a factor regarding why children end up smoking. In this study, while no clear correlation was found between family relationships and smoking, several types of family relationships that may lead to smoking were suggested.

Towards a sustainable campus-city relationship:A systematic review of the literature

The relationship between a university and its city is considered strategical to achieve university targeted ambitions and visions.The university-city relationship is also encouraged for the benefit of the city,as universities unleash their respective cities’potentials to act as driving forces not only for their local communities,but also for the whole nation.Therefore,maintaining a mutual relationship between the university and the city is considered essential to accomplish strategic goals for both.However,the nature of this relationship is quite complex,overlapped,interconnected,and diverse.Therefore,this paper conducted a systematic review of the literature on university-city and campus-city relationships to evaluate recent research trends to uncover the aspects that connect universities with their respective cities.The search included articles published in 4 different databases from January 1990 to January 2021.A total number of 50 articles were selected in this review.The findings uncovered different aspects that could help or hinder university-city relationship based on the physical and functional linkage between the campus and the city.Moreover,findings have shown that it is necessary to understand universities according to their contextual differences,as universities have shown different impacts on their respective cities in terms of their sizes and locations.Results have also shown that the impact of the physical connection between the university and the city goes far beyond campus’s accessibility as it deeply affects students’social life as well.Therefore,decision makers,stakeholders,and university administrators need to co-design campus development process especially in the early stages to maximize the mutual benefits of campus-city relationship.The main conclusions of this paper address several perspectives and lessons for a more sustainable campus-city relationship.

Classifying the types and measurin g sustainable development are important contents of theoretical studie s on sustainable development.Scient ifically reflecting the characteristics of sustainable development an d favorably classify-ing the types of sustainable develop ment are the basis and objective of me asuring sustainable development.B y using the methods of coordinatively analyzin g man-land relationship and economi c analysis,especially by combining with constant elasticity of substitution(CES)production function,this paper advances average sustainable gross dom estic production(ASGDP),inquires into the mutually coordin ative and interdependent relationship between humane capital and natur al capital in the process of sustainabl e development.It also sets up an index system of measuring sustainable development and a type systemof sustainable deve lopment.then according to this index system,if firstly classifies the s ustainable develop-ment,moderate sustainable develop ment,and strong sustainable develo pment,and it also discuss them theoretical signifi-cance.Secondly,it probes into the minimum cost,structure optimizatio n and sustainable development.At la st,it dis-cuss the type classification of sustainable development on development sequence,and points out theoretically the amount of transitions among 8basic regional sustainable development types is 56.in the process of productive expan sion this transi-tion type embodies the input increase of humane capital is greatly larger than that of natural capital.On the c ontrary,econo-mized humane capital transition is a result of progressively decreasing marginal rate of technical substitu tion of humane capital to natural capital.

The Two Cultures of Science: Implications for University-Industry Relationships in the U.S. Agriculture Biotechnology

Partnerships between U.S. universities and industries have existed for several decades and in recent years have become generally more varied, wider in scope, more aggressive and experimental and higher in public visibility. In addition, in the last few decades, public and private interests have advocated for government policies and laws to globally promote the commercialization of university science. This paper examines the persistence or convergence of the two cultures of science and the implications of this commercialization for university-industry relationships in agriculture biotechnology. The perceptions and values of over 200 U.S. university and industry scientists, managers and administrators who participate in or oversee research collaborations in agricultural biotechnology were analyzed. The findings revealed that the participants in these research relationships continue to perceive very distinct cultures of science and identify a wide range of concerns and disadvantages of these partnerships. Several actions were discussed to ensure that the two cultures serve complementary roles and that they maximize the public benefits from these increasing collaborations.

中国古代儒家伦理思想中的道德空间智慧探论

道德空间是指个体以道德规范来调节自我身心,自我与他人、社会,以及自我与自然的关系,从而建构起来的价值空间。它体现为个体在道德关系场域中的得居其位和与外界的共生、共处状态。在以往伦理学理论体系中,道德空间并非显性范畴,但这并不能表明传统伦理思想体系中就没有这方面的思想智慧。中国古代儒家伦理思想就隐藏着丰富的个体道德空间智慧:一是“养浩然之气”和“慎独”学说蕴含的个体身心维度的道德空间智慧,养浩然之气意味着个体恰当安置身心于身心关系场域,慎独意味着个体自我内求道德并以合德方式谨慎把握身心关系,因此它们都是个体身心维度的道德空间建构;二是“仁”“礼”统一学说蕴含的个体与他人、社会维度的道德空间智慧,仁指爱人利人、将心比心、推己及人以形成相互仁爱的人际关系,礼乃仁之具体行为规范和行为模式,以及人们循礼而为所形成的礼和秩序,仁爱关系、礼和秩序都是个体人际维度的道德空间架构;三是“天人合一”学说蕴含的个体与自然维度的道德空间智慧,其中天即自然界,人是作为主体的存在,天人合一意味着天人合德,而天人合德即意味着人以道德规范来协调自我与自然的关系,与自然共生、共处,从而展现出人与自然维度的道德空间意蕴。这些道德空间思想智慧对于人们协调自我身心关系,平衡自我与他人、自我与社会的关系,调节自我与自然的关系,从而实现人与自然的和谐共生,具有重要意义和启迪价值。

生成式人工智能沉迷的法律规制:动因及对策

生成式人工智能的蓬勃兴起为经济社会发展注入了新动能,正在深刻改变人们的生产生活方式,同时也容易导致人工智能沉迷问题。这不仅是个体层面的问题,更涉及人的思维自由、行为自由、人的主体地位等更深层次的问题。当前在防范方面还存在着对象范围过窄、监管方法不当、防沉迷领域局限以及防范义务不明确且手段单一等问题。应当从法律层面对生成式人工智能的沉迷问题进行规制,明确生成式人工智能提供者的防沉迷义务,转变监管方法,加大监管力度,建立生成式人工智能沉迷防范体系,发挥多元主体协同共治,确保生成式人工智能的使用符合人类整体利益。

广义道德论:当代科技道德的重塑

当代科技既超现实又反现实,在建构世界的同时又对真实世界实现了“降维打击”。探讨当代科技发展趋势如人工智能、生物医学、基因编辑、量子科技等,需要明确其中蕴含的当代性。所谓当代科技发展之“发展”有双关深意:既生成了新兴技术的道德问题本身,又生成了可解方案——广义道德论。新技术的溢出突破道德解释的理论极限,需要创设一种能够将“包容性”和“适应性”统合起来的新伦理解释框架。新的伦理解释框架是递归的科技道德问题与道德设计创造性的变量函数值,亦是当代科技发展中新的人与技术关系方程式。

Man in Nature: A New Critical Reading of Wallace Steven’s “The Snow Man” in the Context of Modernism

The study of Wallace Stevens has a long and varied history. His life, poetry and philosophy have been interpreted in the demensions of romanticism, modernism, postmodernism and ecologism, with focuses on specific aspects such as linguistic structure, the feminine, painting, music and faith. In recent years, studies of Stevens have expanded to include the Chinese elements and the relationship between imagination and reality in his poetry. This thesis intends to examine how irony, ambiguity, tension and paradox cooperate in “The Snow Man” to refresh the reader on man-nature relationship, to understand how Wallace Stevens reflects and reconciles the existential angst of “nothingness” popular in the early 20th century by this poem, and develops a positive or even optimistic attitude.
