Discourse Analysis of the Belt and Road Initiative From the Perspective of Central Asian Countries: A Case Study of the Republic of Kazakhstan

This study employs Norman Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analysis(CDA)three-dimensional model,using the Republic of Kazakhstan as a case study,to delve into the discourse construction of China’s Belt and Road Initiative(BRI)in Central Asian countries.Through detailed analysis of policy documents,media reports,and public discussions in Central Asian countries,this paper reveals how the BRI constructs specific social practices,discourse events,and textual meanings within these nations.The findings indicate that through this global development strategy,China has not only strengthened its economic ties with Central Asian countries but has also exerted profound influences on political,cultural,and social levels.

The Application of Curriculum Ideological and Political Cases in the Teaching of Road Survey and Design

Ideological and political construction of curriculum is the key link to implement the fundamental task of moral education.Focusing on the training objectives of civil engineering professionals in the new era,combined with the teaching concepts of moral education and student-centered education,the teaching objectives for the course of road survey and design have been re-set.The implementation plan of ideological and political education has been put into practice by involving excellent engineering cases,stories of outstanding figures in this field,traffic accidents,design concepts and technological innovation to explore the methods of integrating ideological and political cases into curriculum teaching for a continuous improvement of the promotion of curriculum ideological and political education to the teaching quality of professional courses.

Innovation of Engineering Surveying Course Teaching for Road and Bridge Engineering Technology Majors in Higher Vocational Colleges

Engineering surveying is an important course for road and bridge engineering technology majors in higher vocational colleges.With the advancement of science and technology,engineering surveying technology is also constantly developing,so the theoretical knowledge and professional skills that students need to master are also becoming increasingly complicated.To stimulate the students’interest in learning the course,it is necessary to continuously introduce innovative teaching methods into the course.In this paper,the importance of teaching innovation in engineering surveying courses of road and bridge engineering technology majors in higher vocational colleges and the knowledge system that students need to master are analyzed.Subsequently,innovative strategies are proposed to help improve the students’mastery of engineering surveying.

基于数值模拟的高速公路S型曲线积水规律分析

S型曲线由于特殊的线型几何特征形成了易积水的路面区域,对于积水规律的掌握有利于在设计和建造阶段提前预防和处理积水路段的危害。该文基于计算流体力学软件Fluent,结合计算流体力学分析中基于欧拉-拉格朗日方法的欧拉液膜模型EWF(Eulerian Wall Film),针对精细化处理的典型S型曲线双向多车道道路模型进行模拟计算。模拟包含了几何特征与降雨量等不同变量因素,得出了积水的水膜厚度以及流速分布规律。模拟结果表明:在降雨阶段,S型曲线横坡坡度0%~1%路段为积水路段,横坡坡度1%~2%路段为易积水路段,横坡坡度大于2%的路段积水情况受到降雨强度影响;在排水阶段,S型曲线横坡坡度0%~1%路段为排水困难路段,横坡坡度1%~2%路段为排水不畅路段,横坡坡度大于2%的路段排水顺畅,在排水时间结束时,路面在不同的几何条件和降雨条件下均能将积水排除至水膜厚度小于2 cm,横坡的大小与渐变影响了积水的横向分布与纵向分布,横向呈现中间高两边低、横断面上标高大的位置水膜厚度小和标高小的位置水膜厚度大的水膜厚度分布规律,总体呈现S型的分布规律;水膜流速在积水阶段呈现纵向上中间低两边高、水膜厚度大则水膜流速大的水膜厚度分布规律,在排水阶段则为纵向上中间高两边低的水膜流速分布规律。道路宽度影响了降雨落到路面的积水总量,进而对积水水膜厚度产生了影响;超高缓和率则主要使得积水路段、易积水路段增长,从而影响了积水分布的范围。

The"Belt and Road"Initiative:A Chinese Concept for Global Development

China＇s ＂Belt and Road＂ initiative is emerging as the Western-dominated world order is declining. Capitalism has intensified the rich-poor divide and power politics have led to great upheavals. Western values have caused a ＂value dislocation＂ for non-Western countries. The world is calling for new development concepts. The ＂Belt and Road＂ initiative has emerged as an answer. It embodies China＇s ideas on global development. First, it works for the ＂common prosperity＂ of every country, which will ease contradictions between the South and the North. Second, it emphasizes geo-economie integration that will heal the fragmentation of Eurasia. Third, it advocates linkages between people and inclusiveness to create a new kind of civilization. However, many difficulties and challenges lie ahead for the implementation of the ＂Belt and Road＂ initiative.

The Shortest Path Analysis Based on Road Network

Rational planning of agricultural product transport route from initial node to destination node can effectively reduce the cost price of agricultural products,and the calculation of shortest path between any two points also affects people’s daily travel.Taking Heze Railway Station to Heze College for example,with remote sensing image data as the base map,we conduct vectorization and topological analysis on roads in the target area.With Dijkstra as theoretical basis of shortest path algorithm,we use ArcG IS network analysis method to build road network,and calculate the planning program of the shortest distance path,the shortest path by driving and the shortest path by walking.

Analysis of debris flow control effect and hazard assessment in Xinqiao Gully,Wenchuan M_(s)8.0 earthquake area based on numerical simulation

Xinqiao Gully is located in the area of the 2008 Wenchuan M_(s)8.0 earthquake in Sichuan province,China.Based on the investigation of the 2023"6-26"Xinqiao Gully debris flow event,this study assessed the effectiveness of the debris flow control project and evaluated the debris flow hazards.Through field investigation and numerical simulation methods,the indicators of flow intensity reduction rate and storage capacity fullness were proposed to quantify the effectiveness of the engineering measures in the debris flow event.The simulation results show that the debris flow control project reduced the flow intensity by41.05%to 64.61%.The storage capacity of the dam decreases gradually from upstream to the mouth of the gully,thus effectively intercepting and controlling the debris flow.By evaluating the debris flow of different recurrence intervals,further measures are recommended for managing debris flow events.

With the approach of the 45th World Earth Day,China＇s Ministry of Land and Resources issued the status of the Chinese geological survey and environments on 22nd April 2013.Regional geological survey in 2013 achieved new results-（why was oceanic in twice？） polar and oceanic expedition were fully completed,a national census of geography was begun,and the security capacity of mapping geographic information was enhanced.A new idea for integrated geological survey and scientific research was proposed to enhance marine geological surveys and to improve service capabilities.

Australia’s Fear and Greed over China’s Rise:A Discourse Analysis of Mainstream News Coverage of the Belt and Road Initiative

China’s rise has stirred up world-wide debate.In Australia,China has been one of the keywords in its foreign and strategic policies and on news media.Its rise intensifies the dual functions―benefit provider and security offender to Australia and the tensions between greed of economic gains and fear of China’s increasing geopolitical strength and influence.The“fear and greed”narration is well-presented on Australian mainstream media.Such ambivalence can also find its expressions in the recent typical case of China’s rise―the Belt and Road Initiative.It is worthwhile to find out how Australia’s ambivalence to BRI and China’s rise is represented on media and to draw the sociopolitical inferences behind“fear and greed”.The thesis is going to take BRI as a typical example of China’s rise to examine the ambivalent“fear and greed”narration on Australian mainstream news media.Data sample includes news reports of BRI from ABC News,The Australian,The Australian Financial Review,The Sydney Morning Herald,and The Age from September 1st,2013 to October 31st,2017.The discourse analysis on China’s images finds that Australia is rather biased against China,regarding China both as a lucrative friend and a threatening enemy.The bias lingers on for centuries and generates misunderstanding,mistrust,and anxiety.Profit drives Australia to establish closer economic ties with China,while value differences would not allow too much proximity but help to maintain a robust alliance with its allies.Australia’s position between its major economic partner and traditional allies has caused much concern and will have a long-term influence on its policy-making decisions.

ZTE's Fixed-line 3G Solution, Road to FMC

This article introduces Fixed-Mobile Convergence (FMC) based on IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), which can provide multimedia services flexibly and merge the fixed and mobile networks smoothly. The article focuses on ZTE' s Fixed - line 3G Solution. The Solution proposes an FMC evolution from traditional networks to NGN based on the IMS architecture. It supports a smooth convergence of the 3G network and Softswitch - based NGN. By using an application server, it is able to offer multimedia services without restrictions on access modes.

Research on the Investment Effect of Chinese Cultural “Going Out” —Empirical Evidence from the Countries along the “Belt and Road”

This paper is based on 2006-2017 relevant data of 56 countries along the “Belt and Road” to find out the investment effect of cultural “going out”. The empirical results show that: cultural “going out” has a significant promotion effect on China’s foreign direct investment;this effect has national heterogeneity, which is more effective for emerging markets and developing countries;for some traditional influence factors, such as traditional GDP per capita and time for diplomatic relations, cultural “going out” has a substitution effect. Finally, according to the empirical results, put forward targeted suggestions.

The use of nanotechnology has become wide spread in all branches of science, one of the important branches is the field of transportation. A Survey of Wild Birds Trading in the Beijing Bird Markets

Birds are an indispensable part of nature andthey play an important role in maintaining an ecologicalbalance. The existence of bird markets undoubtedlyposes a threat to the population of wild birds. Thegeographical location of Beijing is paramount to themigratory birds. The species of birds are rich in varietyand its quantity is large in scale. In addition, the birdmarket in old town Beijing has a long history - since theQing Dynasty, it has been the main bird market in thecity. Therefore, a survey of the major bird markets inthe city is highly representative. This study investigatedthe types, quantities, and prices of wild birds tradedin several major bird markets in Beijing from July16 to July 18, 2019. Data analysis and collation werealso conducted in this study. The results of the surveypresented 26 kinds of wild birds, with a total tradingvolume of an estimated 253. They are mainly birdsof the order of the passerine, 18 of which are underBeijing’s second-class protection, and one of them isunder first-class protection.
