The effects of interactions between crops and soil P-availability on bacterial communities and the feedback regulation of soil P cycling by the bacterial community modifications are poorly understood. Here, six soybean(Glycine max) genotypes with differences in P efficiency were cultivated in acidic soils with long-term sufficient or deficient P-fertilizer treatments. The acid phosphatase(AcP) activities, organic-P concentrations and associated bacterial community compositions were determined in bulk and rhizosphere soils. The results showed that both soybean plant P content and the soil AcP activity were negatively correlated with soil organic-P concentration in P-deficient acidic soils. Soil P-availability affected the ɑ-diversity of bacteria in both bulk and rhizosphere soils. However, soybean had a stronger effect on the bacterial community composition, as reflected by the similar biomarker bacteria in the rhizosphere soils in both P-treatments. The relative abundance of biomarker bacteria Proteobacteria was strongly correlated with soil organic-P concentration and AcP activity in low-P treatments. Further high-throughput sequencing of the phoC gene revealed an obvious shift in Proteobacteria groups between bulk soils and rhizosphere soils, which was emphasized by the higher relative abundances of Cupriavidus and Klebsiella, and lower relative abundance of Xanthomonas in rhizosphere soils. Among them, Cupriavidus was the dominant phoC bacterial genus, and it was negatively correlated with the soil organic-P concentration. These findings suggest that soybean growth relies on organic-P mineralization in P-deficient acidic soils, which might be partially achieved by recruiting specific phoCharboring bacteria, such as Cupriavidus.展开更多

Attributes of substantial porosity, specificsurface area, exposed metal centers, uniform structure, and flexible morphology render PET-derived MOFs are well-suited for applications inadsorption, energy storage, catalysis, among others. Herein, in the present work, we have summarized recent advances in synthesis of PETderived MOFs using ex-situ and in-situ methods for typical applications of adsorption, catalysis and energy storage. Despite those improvementsin synthesis methods and potential applications, challenges still remain in development of green and economical routes to fully utilize waste PETfor massive manufacture of valuable MOF materials and chemicals. This review provides insights into the conversion of non-degradable PETwaste to value-added MOF materials, and further suggests promising perspectives to develop the sustainable “Waste-to-MOFs” model inaddressing environmental pollution and energy crises.展开更多

This study examined the role of cations and organic anions in regulating soil pH using organic compounds. Calcareous soil, acid soil, and paddy soil were incubated with different simple organic compounds, pH was determined periodically and CO2 emission was also measured. Mixing organic acids with the soil caused an instant decrease of soil pH. The magnitude of pH decrease depended on the initial soil acidity and dissociation degree of the acids. Decomposition of organic acids could only recover the soil pH to about its original level. Mixing organic salts with soil caused an instant increase of soil pH. Decomposition of organic salts of sodium resulted in a steady increase of soil pH, with final soil pH being about 2.7-3.2 pH units over the control. Organic salts with the same anions (citrate) but different cations led to different magnitudes of pH increase, while those having the same cations but different anions led to very similar pH increases. Organic salts of sodium and sodium carbonate caused very similar pH increases of soil when they were added to the acid soil at equimolar concentrations of Na^+. The results suggested that cations played a central role in regulating soil pH. Decarboxylation might only consume a limited number of protons. Conversion of organic salts into inorganic salts (carbonate) was possibly responsible for pH increase during their decomposition, suggesting that only those plant residues containing high excess base cations could actually increase soil pH.展开更多

morbidity and mortality.AIM To evaluate T1 mapping based on gadoxetic acid-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)for diagnosis of hepatic SOS induced by monocrotaline.METHODS Twenty-four mice were divided into control(n=10)and experimental(n=14)groups.The experimental groups were injected with monocrotaline 2 or 6 days before MRI.MRI parameters were:T1 relaxation time before enhancement;T1 relaxation time 20 minutes after enhancement(T_(1post));a reduction in T1 relaxation time(△T_(1)%);and first enhancement slope percentage of the liver parenchyma(ESP).Albumin and bilirubin score was determined.Histological results served as a reference.Liver parenchyma samples from the control and experimental groups were analyzed by western blotting, and organic anion transporter polypeptide 1(OATP1)was measured.RESULTS T_(1post),△T_(1)%,and ESP of the liver parenchyma were significantly different between two groups(all P<0.001)and significantly correlated with the total histological score of hepatic SOS(r=-0.70,0.68 and 0.79;P<0.001).△T_(1)%and ESP were positively correlated with OATP1 levels(r=0.82,0.85;P<0.001),whereas T_(1post) had a negative correlation with OATP1 levels(r=-0.83;P<0.001).INTRODUCTION Hepatic sinusoidal obstruction syndrome(SOS)is also known as hepatic veno-occlusive disease of the liver[1].The main pathological feature of hepatic SOS is damage to liver terminal vessels, and the clinical symptoms of it include ascites and abdominal pain[2].It was first proposed in 1979 as an early complication of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation[3].The prevalence ranges from 5%to 60%,and hepatic SOS is a potentially severe complication and can even lead to death in severe cases[4].Recently,systemic neoadjuvant chemotherapy became widely regarded as one of the causes hepatic SOS in the patients with advanced metastatic colorectal cancer[5,6],especially those were treated with oxaliplatin[7,8].Oxaliplatin-based preoperative chemotherapy is used for patients with colorectal liver metastases as the standard regimen[8,9],because it could improve tumor resection outcome by shrinking the metastatic sites and reducing recurrence rate[10].Nevertheless,chemotherapy-induced hepatic SOS has been associated with a higher risk of postresection morbidity[11],such as intraoperative bleeding, intraoperative transfusions, and postoperative liver failure[12].Therefore,it is important to detect and diagnose of hepatic SOS timely.Currently, the gold standard is still based on liver biopsy[13],but it is an invasive procedure and has several limitations and complications, such as hemorrhage[14].A noninvasive diagnostic modality is needed for the assessment of hepatic SOS.Some noninvasive tools have been used for diagnosis of hepatic SOS.Researchers have utilized a preoperative platelet count and aspartate aminotransferase to platelet ratio index[15].In addition, some imaging methods such as shear wave ultrasonography, computed tomography, and gadoxetic acid-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)have been promoted as useful methods for evaluation of hepatic SOS[16-18].Recent studies with monocrotaline(MCT)-treated rats were conducted to investigate diagnosis and prediction of severity of SOS.For example, intravoxel incoherent motion diffusion-weighted imaging,non-Gaussian diffusion models, and T1 rho quantification[19,20].The MCT-induced hepatic SOS animal model was reproducible, with a detailed pathological scoring criteria[21].Gadoxetic acid is a hepatocyte-specific contrast substance, which can provide parenchymal contrast in the hepato-biliary phase. It is reported that gadoxetic acid is absorbed into the liver parenchyma via organic anion transporter polypeptide 1(OATP1)on the hepatocyte membranes[22-24].Recently,several authors have described the feasibility of gadoxetic acid-enhanced MRI for the diagnosis of oxaliplatin-induced hepatic SOS[25].They mainly diagnosed hepatic SOS based on the signal intensity of the hepatobiliary specific phase. However, there were several limitations due to the inconsistency between signal intensity of the liver parenchyma and the concentration of contrast agent for evaluation of the degree of hepatic SOS[26].Therefore,we measured T1 relaxation time on parametric mapping because it is linearly related to the concentration of the contrast agent and is not affected by other factors[27].Yang et al[28]demonstrated T1 mapping on gadoxetic acid-enhanced MRI for the assessment of oxaliplatin-induced liver injury in a C57BL/6 mouse model. However, the main pathological changes in their model were hepatocyte degeneration and fibrosis. Therefore,we aimed to explore the effectiveness of T1 mapping based on gadoxetic acid-enhanced MRI for the diagnosis of hepatic SOS in a C57BL/6 mouse model,as well as a possible relation between OATP1 Levels and MRI parameters.展开更多

Cd, Cu, Ni and Ph generally led to decrease in the elongation of roots although the length of seedlings exposed to Cd and Ph at 0.05 and 0.5 mg/L showed to be slightly greater than that of controls. Of the four metals in the experiment, Ph was absorbed and accumulated to the highest level, with the concentrations of 92754 mg/kg dry weight (DW) in roots and 11683 mg/kg DW in shoots. Cd was moderately accumulated in Agrogyron elongatum, but the maximum bioaccumulation coefficients (BCs) for roots and shoots were observed. The patterns for Cu and Ni uptake and distribution in plants differed from those of Ph and Cd, as it was showed that the shoot accumulation of Cu and Ni was significantly higher than in roots. A. elongation had the highest Ni concentration in shoots (30261 mg/kg DW) at the external concentration of 250 mg/L. Cu ranked second, with a shoot concentration of 12230 mg/kg DW when 50 mg/L Cu in solution was applied. For the four trace elements tested, the highest concentrations in shoots decreased by the order of Ni > Cu > Ph > Cd (mg/kg DW), and those in roots were Ph > Cd > Ni > Cu (mg/kg DW). Malic, oxalic and citric acids exuded by roots exposed to 1 and 50 mg/L of the metals were detected. Release of organic acids from plants significantly differed among the metal treatments. Cu was most effectively in inducing root exudation of the three types of organic acids. Cd, and Ni were also the inducers of secretion of malic and oxalic acids. With reference of Pb, a small amounts of malic and oxalic acids were detected in the root exudates, but few quantities, of citric acid were. found. However, no correlation between alternations in root exudation of organic acids and metal accumulation could be established.展开更多

In this study, benzoate and salicylate were employed as the model organic ligands and aluminum hydroxide as the metal hydroxide. The attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared (ATR-FTIR) spectra revealed that the ligands benzoate and salicylate do coordinate directly with the surface of hydrous aluminum hydroxide, thereby forming innersphere surface complexes. It is concluded that when the initial pH is acidic or neutral, monodentate and bridging complexes are to be formed between benzoate and aluminum hydroxide while bridging complexes predominate when the initial pH is alkalic. Monodentate and bridging complexes can be formed at pH 5 while precipitate and bridging complexes are formed at pH 7 when salicylate anions are adsorbed on aluminum hydroxide. The X-ray photoelectron (XP) spectra demonstrated the variation of C 1 s binding energy in the salicyate and phenolic groups before and after adsorption. It implied that the benzoate ligands are adsorbed through the complexation between carboxylate moieties and the aluminum hydroxide surface, while both carboxylate group and phenolic group are involved in the complexation reaction when salicylate is adsorbed onto aluminum hydroxide. The information offered by the XPS confirmed the findings obtained with ATR-FTIR.展开更多

A hydroponic pot experiment was conducted based on randomized complete block design, factorial arrangement was used with 16 combinations of salinity stress (0, 100, 200, and 300 mmol L-1 NaC1), ascorbic acid (0 and 30 mmol L-1), and silicium (2 and 4 mmol L-1 from potassium silicate) with three replicates. The results showed that salinity significantly decreased leaf area and leaf fresh weight, seed yield, photosynthesis, nitrate reductase activity, chlorophyll content, and seed protein percentage. Conversely, respiration, antioxidant enzymes activity, proline accumulation, and linolenic acid percentage increased due to salt stress. Ascorbic acid application improved photosynthesis and seed yield and mitigated antioxidant enzyme activity. In addition, nitrate reductase activity and chlorophyll a and b were positively affected by ascorbic acid. Regarding silicium application, that was found that leaf area, leaf fresh weight, seed yield and photosynthesis, ascorbate peroxidase activity, nitrate reductase activity, and chlorophyll content increased, while respiration decreased. Furthermore, silicium had not significant effect on antioxidant enzyme activity. In general, ascorbic acid and silicium were involved in the defensive mechanisms against salinity stress and it can be suggested that, ascorbic acid and silicium application had positive effect on canola growth under conditions of salt stress.展开更多

The results showed that total concentration of LMWOAs was up to 94.5 μmol/L and their proportion in DOM was 5.6%, suggesting that LMWOAs were important chemical components in DOM in lake sediment porewaters. Among the seven LMWOAs, pyruvic and acetic acid had the highest concentrations with 26.30 and 8.31 μmol/L, accounting for 51.4% and 14.92% of LMWOAs, respectively. Trifluoroacetic and sorbic acid had the lowest concentrations, indicating that the compositions of LMWOAs in relative reducing environments were largely different from those reported in glacier, atmosphere and soils. The concentrations of lactic, acetic, formic, sorbic and oxalic acid decreased with increasing depth, probably relating to stronger microbial activities in the initial stage of early diagenesis. Trifluoroacetic acid was mainly anthropogenic with its concentration, showing a diusive trend from the surface to bottom sediments. The concentrations of lactic acid and nitrate generally showed a consistent profile. The increasing concentration of pyruvic acid in the vertical profile was just opposite to that of sulfate, revealing a significant negative relationship between them. Oxalic acid remained constant except for an obvious peak at 6 cm depth. The results indicated the diversities in sources and behaviors for various LMWOAs during early diagenesis in sediments.展开更多

In this study, we used tomato seedlings treated with salt and trehalose as experimental materials and analyzed them using the technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution analysis to select the optimal trehalose concentration for treatment. We also determined the contents of sugar and abscisic acid (ABA) and detected the expression of genes involved in the metabolism of sugar and ABA by quantitative real-time PCR. Results showed that the optimal trehalose concentration was 2 mmol/L for tomato seedlings under salt stress. Exogenous trehalose decreased the starch content and increased the soluble sugar con- tent by a ecting the expression of genes related to the metabolism of starch and soluble sugar. Exogenous trehalose altered the accumulation and distribution of sugar by inducing the upregulation of sugar transporter genes. Furthermore, trehalose increased the ABA content to induce salt stress response by regulating the expression of genes related to the synthesis and metabolism of ABA. In conclusion, trehalose can e ectively alleviate salt stress and enhance salt tolerance of tomato. These ndings provide a novel perspective and a better resource to investigate the salt tolerance mechanism and a new method for alleviating salt stress in tomato.展开更多

文摘Melatonin and abscisic acid,as major plant hormones, play important roles in the physiological and biochemical activities of crops, but the interaction between the two under salt stress is not yet clear. This study investigated the endogenous levels of melatonin and abscisic acid in rice by using exogenous melatonin, abscisic acid, and their synthetic inhibitors, and examined their interactions under salt stress. The research results indicate that melatonin and abscisic acid can improve rice salt tolerance.Melatonin alleviated the salt sensitivity caused by abscisic acid deficiency, increased antioxidant enzyme activity and antioxidant content in rice treated with abscisic acid synth-esis inhibitors, and reduced total reactive oxygen species content and thiobarbituric acid reactive substance accu-mulation.Melatonin also increased the activity of key photosynthetic enzymes and the content of photosynthetic pigments, maintaining the parameters of photosynthetic gas exchange and chlorophyllfluorescence. In summary, melatonin alleviated the effects of abscisic acid deficiency on photosynthesis and antioxidant systems in rice and improved salt tolerance. This study is beneficial for expanding the understanding of melatonin regulation of crop salt tolerance.

文摘The development and vigor of soil microorganisms in terrestrial ecosystems are frequently constrained by the limited availability of essential elements such as carbon(C),nitrogen(N),and phosphorus(P).In this study,we investigated the impact of long-term application of varying levels of organic manure,low(7.5 Mg ha^(−1)yr^(−1)),moderate(15.0 Mg ha^(−1)yr^(−1)),and high(22.5 Mg ha^(−1)yr^(−1)),on the stoichiometry of enzymes and the structures of the microbial communities in soybean rhizospheric and bulk soils. The main goal of this research was to examine how soil microbial resource limitations in the rhizosphere respond to different long-term fertilization strategies. The soil enzymatic activities were quantified, and the structure of the microbial community was assessed by analyzing phospholipid fatty acid profiles. When compared to the bulk soil, the rhizospheric soil had significant increases in microbial biomass carbon(MBC),nitrogen(MBN),and phosphorus(MBP),with MBC increasing by 54.19 to 72.86%,MBN by 47.30 to 48.17%,and MBP by 17.37 to 208.47%.Compared with the unfertilized control(CK),the total microbial biomasses of the rhizospheric(increased by 22.80 to 90.82%)and bulk soils(increased by 10.57 to 60.54%)both exhibited increases with the application of organic manure, and the rhizospheric biomass was higher than that of bulk soil.Compared with bulk soil, the activities of C-,N-and P-acquiring enzymes of rhizospheric soil increased by 22.49,14.88,and 29.45%under high levels of organic manure, respectively.Analyses of vector length, vector angle, and scatter plots revealed that both rhizospheric and bulk soils exhibited limitations in terms of both carbon(C)and phosphorus(P)availability. The results of partial least-squares path modelling indicated that the rhizospheric soil exhibited a more pronounced response to the rate of manure application than the bulk soil. The varying reactions of rhizospheric and bulk soils to the extended application of organic manure underscore the crucial function of the rhizosphere in mitigating limitations related to microbial resources, particularly in the context of different organic manure application rates.

文摘This study investigated the effects of salt(3%and 6%,m/m)and rice flour(10%and 20%,m/m)addition in sour meat,a traditional Chinese fermented meat.It was found that salt has greater effect than rice flour addition in spontaneous fermentation.Low-salt groups had lower pH and higher titratable total acid.In the low-salt groups, the dominant genera were Lactobacillus and Lactococcus, whereas Staphylococcus,Weissella, and Tetragenococcus were dominant in the high-salt groups.Higher total free amino acids and essential amino acids, organic acids, hexanoic acid ethyl ester and octanoic acid ethyl ester were found in the low-salt groups. The RDA analysis revealed that Lactococcus was closely related to product quality, with the S3F10(3%salt and 10%rice f lour)group outperforming the others in the sensory evaluation.Therefore,3%salt and 10%rice flour were considered more appropriate for the production of healthy and tasty fermented sour meats.

文摘In the context of global warming and rapid environment change in the Arctic, the supply of organic matter(OM)has increased significantly and a large amount of OM are buried on the Arctic shelf.Studying the fate of OM in Arctic shelf sediments is crucial to understanding the global carbon sink.As a marginal sea of the Arctic Ocean, the Chukchi Sea is one of the most critical areas where OM is buried.Based on the surface sediment samples collected during the sixth Chinese National Arctic Research Expedition in the summer of 2014 and the SinoRussian joint Arctic Research Expedition in the summer of 2016,this study takes amino acids(AAs)as the primary tool to explore the source and degradation of OM in the surface sediments of the Chukchi Sea.This study shows that total hydrolyzable amino acid(THAA)concentrations(dry weight)are high, with a mean value of(32.7±15.8)μmol/g.Their spatial distribution is related to primary productivity, hydrodynamic conditions, sediment properties and other factors. The source of OM in the surface sediments of the Chukchi Sea is dominated by diatom-dominated marine productivity, with some input from terrestrial sources.Bacteria,as the main source of the D-enantiomer of AA(D-AA),not only have transforming effect on OM,but their cell walls and remnants likewise supply the OM pool.Based on a series of diagenetic indicators,we conclude that the OM in the surface sediments of the Chukchi Sea has undergone extensive degradation[DI(degradation index)=-0.59±0.44],and the degradation degree in the slope is higher than that in the shelf. This study uses AA to explore the sources and degradation of OM in the sediments of the Chukchi Sea,which facilitates our understanding of OM transport and transformation on the Arctic shelf.

文摘Bacteria play critical roles in regulating soil phosphorus(P) cycling. These findings suggest that soybean growth relies on organic-P mineralization in P-deficient acidic soils, which might be partially achieved by recruiting specific phoCharboring bacteria, such as Cupriavidus.

文摘Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) as one of non-degradable wastes has become a huge threat to the environment and human health.Chemical Recycle of PET is a sustainable way to release 1,4-benzenedicarboxylic acid (BDC) the monomer of PET as common used organiclinker for synthesis of functional Metal–organic-frameworks (PET-derived MOFs) such as UiO-66, MIL-101, etc. This sustainable and costeffective“Waste-to-MOFs” model is of great significant to be intensively investigated in the past years. This review provides insights into the conversion of non-degradable PETwaste to value-added MOF materials, and further suggests promising perspectives to develop the sustainable “Waste-to-MOFs” model inaddressing environmental pollution and energy crises.

文摘The process of organic materials increasing soil pH has not yet been fully understood. Conversion of organic salts into inorganic salts (carbonate) was possibly responsible for pH increase during their decomposition, suggesting that only those plant residues containing high excess base cations could actually increase soil pH.

文摘BACKGROUND Neoadjuvant chemotherapy can cause hepatic sinusoidal obstruction syndrome(SOS)in patients with colorectal cancer liver metastases and increases posto-perative morbidity and mortality.AIM To evaluate T1 mapping based on gadoxetic acid-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)for diagnosis of hepatic SOS induced by monocrotaline.METHODS Twenty-four mice were divided into control(n=10)and experimental(n=14)groups.The experimental groups were injected with monocrotaline 2 or 6 days before MRI.MRI parameters were:T1 relaxation time before enhancement;T1 relaxation time 20 minutes after enhancement(T_(1post));a reduction in T1 relaxation time(△T_(1)%);and first enhancement slope percentage of the liver parenchyma(ESP).Albumin and bilirubin score was determined.Histological results served as a reference.Liver parenchyma samples from the control and experimental groups were analyzed by western blotting, and organic anion transporter polypeptide 1(OATP1)was measured.RESULTS T_(1post),△T_(1)%,and ESP of the liver parenchyma were significantly different between two groups(all P<0.001)and significantly correlated with the total histological score of hepatic SOS(r=-0.70,0.68 and 0.79;P<0.001).△T_(1)%and ESP were positively correlated with OATP1 levels(r=0.82,0.85;P<0.001),whereas T_(1post) had a negative correlation with OATP1 levels(r=-0.83;P<0.001).INTRODUCTION Hepatic sinusoidal obstruction syndrome(SOS)is also known as hepatic veno-occlusive disease of the liver[1].The main pathological feature of hepatic SOS is damage to liver terminal vessels, and the clinical symptoms of it include ascites and abdominal pain[2].It was first proposed in 1979 as an early complication of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation[3].The prevalence ranges from 5%to 60%,and hepatic SOS is a potentially severe complication and can even lead to death in severe cases[4].Recently,systemic neoadjuvant chemotherapy became widely regarded as one of the causes hepatic SOS in the patients with advanced metastatic colorectal cancer[5,6],especially those were treated with oxaliplatin[7,8].Oxaliplatin-based preoperative chemotherapy is used for patients with colorectal liver metastases as the standard regimen[8,9],because it could improve tumor resection outcome by shrinking the metastatic sites and reducing recurrence rate[10].Nevertheless,chemotherapy-induced hepatic SOS has been associated with a higher risk of postresection morbidity[11],such as intraoperative bleeding, intraoperative transfusions, and postoperative liver failure[12].Therefore,it is important to detect and diagnose of hepatic SOS timely.Currently, the gold standard is still based on liver biopsy[13],but it is an invasive procedure and has several limitations and complications, such as hemorrhage[14].A noninvasive diagnostic modality is needed for the assessment of hepatic SOS.Some noninvasive tools have been used for diagnosis of hepatic SOS.Researchers have utilized a preoperative platelet count and aspartate aminotransferase to platelet ratio index[15].In addition, some imaging methods such as shear wave ultrasonography, computed tomography, and gadoxetic acid-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)have been promoted as useful methods for evaluation of hepatic SOS[16-18].Recent studies with monocrotaline(MCT)-treated rats were conducted to investigate diagnosis and prediction of severity of SOS.For example, intravoxel incoherent motion diffusion-weighted imaging,non-Gaussian diffusion models, and T1 rho quantification[19,20].The MCT-induced hepatic SOS animal model was reproducible, with a detailed pathological scoring criteria[21].Gadoxetic acid is a hepatocyte-specific contrast substance, which can provide parenchymal contrast in the hepato-biliary phase. Therefore,we aimed to explore the effectiveness of T1 mapping based on gadoxetic acid-enhanced MRI for the diagnosis of hepatic SOS in a C57BL/6 mouse model,as well as a possible relation between OATP1 Levels and MRI parameters.
文摘Heavy metal contaminated water sources pose serious health risks for humans, animals, and plants.Exposure to and ingestion of heavy metals have been associated to liver, kidney, and brain function. Objective:The aim of this research is to comparatively examine the metal removal efficacy of three solid bidentate chemicals and four plant materials.Study Design&Methods:Standard solutions of zinc(II)and lead(II)ions with concentrations of 1,000 ppm were respectively treated with OA(Oxalic Acid),dibasic bidentate ligands(sodium hydrogen phosphate and sodium carbonate). Then, the solutions were placed on a shaker for 15 h,centrifuged, and the supernatant was analyzed using ICP-AES(Inductively Coupled Plasma-Atomic Emission Spectrometry). Results:All the solid bidentate adsorbents were very effective in removing zinc and lead(>90%).However,more lead than zinc was removed across all adsorbents except for lemon where equal percent of zinc and lead(49%)were removed.OA and Na2HPO4 removed about equal amount of lead(>99%).The plant materials(SP(Spinach),bell pepper and GBP(Green Bell Pepper)),respectively and preferentially removed more lead(98.9%,98.3%,81.5%)than zinc(91.7%,46%,46%).Conclusion:Although plant materials have gained attraction for the remediation of heavy metal, however, some bidentate chemical ligands such as OA,sodium carbonate and sodium hydrogen phosphates are even more effective in removing these metals from contaminated water.Furthermore, heavier metals are preferentially removed than lighter metals.

文摘Background:High stocking density(HSD)stress has detrimental effects on growth performance, intestinal barrier function, and intestinal microbiota in intensive animal production.Organic acids(OA)are widely used as feed addi-tives for their ability to improve growth performance and intestinal health in poultry. However, whether dietary OA can ameliorate HSD stress-induced impaired intestinal barrier in broilers remains elusive. In this study,a total of 528 one-day-old male Arbor Acres broilers were randomly allocated into 3 treatments with 12 replicates per treatment including 10 birds for normal stocking density and 17 birds for HSD.The dietary treatments were as follows:1)Normal stocking density+basal diet;2)HSD+basal diets;3)HSD+OA.Results:HSD stress can induce increased levels of serum corticosterone,lipopolysaccharides,interleukin-1β,tumor necrosis factor-α,and down-regulated mRNA expression of ZO-1,resulting in compromised growth performance of broilers(P<0.05).Dietary OA could significantly reduce levels of serum corticosterone,lipopolysaccharides,interleukin-1β,and tumor necrosis factor-α,which were accompanied by up-regulated interleukin-10,mRNA expres-sion of ZO-1,and growth performance(P<0.05).Moreover,OA could down-regulate the mRNA expression of TLR4 and MyD88 to inhibit the NF-κB signaling pathway(P<0.05).Additionally,HSD stress significantly decreased the abundance of Bacteroidetes and disturbed the balance of microbial ecosystems, whereas OA significantly increased the abundance of Bacteroidetes and restored the disordered gut microbiota by reducing competitive and exploita-tive interactions in microbial communities(P<0.05).Meanwhile,OA significantly increased the content of acetic and butyric acids, which showed significant correlations with intestinal inflammation indicators(P<0.05).Conclusions:Dietary OA ameliorated intestinal inflammation and growth performance of broilers through restor-ing the disordered gut microbial compositions and interactions induced by HSD and elevating short-chain fatty acid production to inhibit the TLR4/NF-κB signaling pathway. These findings demonstrated the critical role of intestinal microbiota in mediating the HSD-induced inflammatory responses, contributing to exploring nutritional strategies to alleviate HSD-induced stress in animals.
文摘Oxidative desulfurization from fuel oil is one of the important methods for deep desulfurization. The development of efficient oxidative desulfurization catalysts is crucial for improving the desulfurization performance.Successful encapsulation of phosphotungstic acid(HPW)and ionic liquid(BMImBr)inside the mesoporous cages of MIL-101(Cr)was accomplished through a combination of“bottle around ship”and“ship in bottle”methods. The obtained BMImPW@MIL-101(Cr)composite was characterized by XRD,FTIR,BET,SEM,XPS and ICP methods. Results indicated that the BMImPW@MIL-101(Cr)composites with PW^(3−) loading of 23.1–50.7 wt%were obtained, demonstrating that the“bottle around ship”method is beneficial to make full use of nanocages of MIL-101(Cr)to obtain expected high loading of active PW^(3−) .The BMImPW@MIL-101(Cr)exhibits excellent reusability with no evidence of leaching of active PW^(3−) and BMIm^(+),and well-preserved structure after successive cycles of regeneration and reuse. The significantly improved stability of BMImPW@MIL-101(Cr)as compared to HPW@MIL-101(Cr)is possibly because the leaching of the active PW^(3−) −sites can be greatly suppressed by forming large size of BMImPW owing to introduction of BMIm^(+)cation. The BMImPW@MIL-101(Cr)exhibited excellent catalytic activity for solvent free oxidative desulfurization of refractory sulfides. The enhanced oxidative desulfurization activity as compared to HPW@MIL-101(Cr)can be explained by the intimate contact of sulfides with active PW^(3−) sites owing the strong attraction of BMIm^(+)cation with the sulfides.
文摘Agrogyron elongatum were grown in nutrient solution containing moderate to high amounts of separate heavy metal of Cd, Cu, Ni and Ph in a greenhouse for a 9 - day. With reference of Pb, a small amounts of malic and oxalic acids were detected in the root exudates, but few quantities, of citric acid were. found. However, no correlation between alternations in root exudation of organic acids and metal accumulation could be established.
文摘Information on the binding of organic ligands to metal (hydr)oxide surfaces is useful for understanding the adsorption behaviour of natural organic matter on metal (hydr)oxide. The information offered by the XPS confirmed the findings obtained with ATR-FTIR.

文摘The effects of exogenous ascorbic acid and silicium on leaf fresh weigh, seed yield, photosynthesis, changes of the activities of major antioxidant enzymes, nitrate reductase activity, proline accumulation, chlorophyll content, and fatty acid composition were investigated in salt-stressed canola. In general, ascorbic acid and silicium were involved in the defensive mechanisms against salinity stress and it can be suggested that, ascorbic acid and silicium application had positive effect on canola growth under conditions of salt stress.

文摘The composition and vertical profiles of low molecular-weight organic acids (LMWOAs) and the contribution of them to dissolved organic matter (DOM) in sediment porewaters in Bosten Lake, Xinjiang, China were investigated. The results indicated the diversities in sources and behaviors for various LMWOAs during early diagenesis in sediments.

文摘Salt stress a ects the growth and development of plants, which results in a decrease in crop quality and yield. These ndings provide a novel perspective and a better resource to investigate the salt tolerance mechanism and a new method for alleviating salt stress in tomato.

文摘Sweet and sour are the most important taste of blueberries, and they are produced by sugar and acid, respectively.Their contributions to the taste depend not only on the levels of sugar and acid, but also on the types and relative proportions of sugar and acid. Therefore,it is very important to evaluate the composition and levels of sugar and acid in blueberries.Regional differences and variety diversity also affect the sugar and acid characteristics of fruits. Therefore, this study selected two main producing regions in northern China(Weihai and Yingkou)to examine the sugar and acid characteristics of 11 common blueberry cultivars. The indexes measured included soluble sugars, organic acids, soluble solid content and titratable acidity. The results showed that glucose and fructose were the major sugars, and citric acid and quinic acid were the major organic acids.Correlation analysis showed that glucose, fructose, and sucrose were positively correlated with total sugar content;the citric acid content was positively correlated with the titratable acidity and total organic acids.Titratable acidity, glucose, fructose, sucrose, total sugar content, citric acid, shikimic acid and total acid content of the blueberries varied significantly between regions(P<0.05).In general, compared with Weihai blueberries,Yingkou blueberries had higher sugar content and lower acid content. The results of this study may provide useful references for the evaluation of sweet and sour flavors and cultivar selection of blueberries.
文摘Seasonal changes in enzyme activities and citrate concentration during the development of citrus fruits were investigated. The result showed that the organic acid concentrations reached a peak in the 100 -130 days after anthesis and gradually declined during later stages of fruit maturation in most varieties of citrus, but declined only slightly thereafter in lemon [Citrus limon(L.)Burm]; there is no relation between the activity of citrate synthetase(CS)and the different acid concentration in different citrus fruits; the increase of the activity of the cytosolic aconitase in the late period of the development of citrus fruits accelerated the degradation of citric acid in citrus fruits; the higher the activity of phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase(PEPC)and the ratio of NAD-dependent isocitrate hydrogenase(PEPC /NAD-IDH),the more the concentrations of organic acids in citrus fruit.

文摘Background:The objective of this experiment was to evaluate the effect of a combination of microencapsulated essential oils and organic acids(MOA)on growth performance,immuno-antioxidant status, intestinal barrier function and microbial structure of the hindgut in piglets.A total of 120 piglets(Duroc×[Landrace×Yorkshire];weighted 7.66±1.79 kg,weaned at d 28)were randomly selected and allocated to 3 treatments with 4 replicates per group and 10 piglets per replicate according to the initial body weight and gender. The dietary treatments were as follows:1)basal diet(Ctrl);2)Ctrl+chlortetracycline(75 mg/kg)(AGP);3)Ctrl+MOA(1500 mg/kg).The experiment period was lasted for 21 d.Results:Compared to the Ctrl group, dietary supplemented MOA alleviated(P<0.05)the diarrhea rate from d 12 to 21,enhanced(P<0.05)the concentration of serum interlukin-10 and glutathione peroxidase in piglets on d 11 after weaning and serum superoxide dismutase in 21-day piglets. The MOA group also improved(P<0.05)the apparent digestibility of dry matter(DM),organic matter(OM)and gross energy(GE),up-regulated(P<0.05)the mRNA expression level of occludin,claudin-1 and mucin-2 in ileum and increased(P<0.05)the contents of propionic and butyric acids in the cecum of piglets. The MOA group modulated the cecal and colonic microbial community structure and increased(P<0.05)the abundance of Faecalibacterium and Muribaculaceae in cecum and Streptococcus and Weissella in colon.Additionally,AGP group decreased(P<0.05)apparent digestibility of DM,OM and GE as well as down-regulated(P<0.05)relative gene expression level of claudin-1 in duodenum and jejunum,ZO-1 and mucin-1 in jejunum of piglets. Conclusion:In summary, dietary supplemented MOA alleviated diarrhea and improved nutrient apparent digestibility in piglets via enhancing immuno-antioxidant properties, increasing digestive enzyme activity, upregulating the expression of intestinal barrier-related genes, and modifying the microbial community structure of the cecum and colon. Therefore, dietary supplementation with MOA as an alternative to antibiotics was feasible to improve intestinal health of piglets in practical production.
