Ecological aesthetics is the organic combination of ecology and aesthetics.It is the mainstream and basic form of aesthetics to integrate the ecological concepts of balance,system and entirety into the study of aesthetics.Cultural experience space is a new reading space with the characteristics of public cultural services.In this paper,Aixi Lake Beauty·Library is taken as research object,to analyze its design connotation and public effect from the perspective of ecological aesthetics.The research aims to explore a feasible way for the construction of urban cultural experience space.

Research on the Reading Comprehension and Aesthetic Experience of Poster Design Based on Gadamer’s Philosophy

Based on Gadamer’s philosophical viewpoint,the research scope starts from the domain of philosophical interpretation and extends to the field of poster design communication and aesthetics.In this paper,on the one hand,the author explains that art and beauty are basic ways of existence,and artistic experience surpasses the natural science method and is close to philosophical experience and historical experience;On the other hand,the paper clarifies and explains the understanding and being understood in poster design,as well as the understanding characteristics of aesthetic experience and artistic experience.While analyzing some hermeneutic phenomenon,this paper discusses the aesthetic function of art,and applies the combination of this function and aesthetic perception to the category of design.In consideration of the relationship between the two,this paper studies and discusses how to enhance the effect of poster design through effective methods,which would only deepen viewers’understanding of the work,but also enable viewers to enjoy the beauty of different degrees,so as to achieve the purpose of promoting information exchange and emotional communication,and further deepen the design connotation of the work.The communication function of poster design works needs to be realized in the application and appreciation,and its content expression needs to be realized in the subject understanding activities.Designers need to feel the unity of the meaning and form of the works in the poster design practice and experience,and explore the purpose and intention of the works of poster design in the aesthetic experience of art,thereupon then get the understanding of reality and the perception of the future of design,and then achieve the lofty pursuit of artistic aesthetics.

Ecological Landscape Planning Considering Landscape Aesthetics (Case Study: Part of Tehran-Qom Freeway)

Visual quality is a significant issue in today’s modern world which needs to be evaluated. This assessment is based on the observer’s perception and sight of space and attempts to introduce the criteria of spatial desirability in the landscape. Analysis of the relationships between visual quality and structural features of the landscape is an effective way of conducting cognitive research. For this purpose, the analysis of visual quality was considered by compiling measurement and evaluation criteria, based on the concept of user preferences, in the part of Tehran-Qom Freeway, near the northeastern side of Imam Khomeini International Airport (Iran). The main objective of this research is to present a strategic plan for preserving and restoring the ecological landscape, creating a sense of place in the region, emphasizing gradual changes in the landscape during the movement and considering its relation to landscape aesthetics. For this purpose, after the questionnaire was prepared, the classifying visual quality method (Q-Sort) was used. Finally, using the results obtained from landscape analysis, identifying the components which led to the lack of visibility of individuals, and by using the geographic information systems (GIS), the strategic design of the area was designed.

Satisfaction of Adult Patients about Their Smile Aesthetics Compared to Dental Professionals Observation

Objective: The aim of the present study was to evaluate personal satisfaction of adult dental patients about their smiles aesthetics in comparison to dental professionals view. Method: One hundred twenty adult patients (76 male and 44 female) visiting the screening clinics of Riyadh colleges of dentistry and Pharmacy were asked to evaluate their smiles by completing a questionnaire containing five questions concerning five aesthetic elements which are: Overall smile;color;shape;alignment of their teeth;and appearance of their gum during smiling. They were asked to rate each of the five categories in Visual Analog Scale (VAS) graded from 0 to 10. A smiling photograph was taken for each patient to be evaluated by two restorative specialists using the same scale. Patients and dental professional mean evaluation scores were statistically analyzed for any significant differences. Result: The average age of the patients was 39.1 years. The mean patients’ satisfaction with their own smiles was [6.47] on the VAS which was statistically higher than the average of dentists’ evaluation scores [4.95] (p Conclusion: Patients’ satisfaction about their dental aesthetics was statistically higher than the dental professional assessments. Dental professionals appear to be more critical in their evaluation of patients smile aesthetics. Age showed no significant relation with the level of satisfaction while gender and reason of dental visit showed a significant relation with patients smile satisfaction.

Nursing and Midwifery Students’ Perception and Experiences of Mentorship: A Systematic Review

Background: Mentorship has been the model adopted by many countries to support learning and assessment of students in the clinical placement. It has remained uncertain whether or not it has a lot of positive benefits for the students’ experiences during placement as there have been divided opinions among researchers. Objective and review question: The objective of this qualitative systematic review was to explore the perceptions and experiences of nursing and midwifery students regarding mentorship during clinical placement. The question of the review was: what are the perceptions and experiences of nursing and midwifery students regarding mentorship during clinical placement. Methods and materials: Electronic data bases, journals and grey literature were searched for relevant studies and seven qualitative studies were systematically included in the review. The Joanna Briggs Institute-Qualitative Assessment and Review instrument (JBI-QARI) was used to critically appraise the studies. Data extraction was done using the JBI-QARI Data Extraction Tool. A thematic analysis was used to synthesise the findings. Findings: The findings suggest that there are still gaps within the mentorship programme that could have an impact on the students’ learning experiences during clinical placement. From the themes identified which include: need for feedback, hands on practice, continuity of mentorship and mentor-mentee relationship, the reviewers concluded that such areas of mentorship require attention in order to benefit the students. Conclusions: It can therefore be concluded that there are many lessons to be learnt in order to continue improving mentorship. It is also clear that mentorship will be beneficial to students if a good relationship is established between the mentor and mentee, as this is the beginning of the experience. All staff members should be willing to support students in learning for them to develop the knowledge, skill and attitudes that are necessary to their learning.

An Index for Measuring Aesthetic Perception of Shopping Building Frontages

Architects treat building frontages with careful attention to aesthetic detail.The ability of a building’s frontage to draw attention is directly proportional to its aesthetic perception resulting from the composition of its constituent physical features.While deciding on the building’s aesthetics is the architect’s prerogative,a question arises as to on what basis can an architect compare various conceptual designs and decide on the best option,considering the building users’“likeability”factor.Aesthetic perception ratings and rankings from 206 regular shoppers were elicited.Further,52 architects were asked to evaluate the aesthetics of these ranked shopping buildings.Combining Architects’Gestalt indices with Birkhoff’s aesthetic measures as well as ranking weightages given by the public,a frontage aesthetic perception index of likeability—FAPIL,is proposed as an indexical aid for design decision making by architects.The findings were elicited by giving due consideration to building users’as well as architect’s judgement so that they can be embodied into the design under conceptualization.Given site and cost constraints faced by the architect,the architect needs to ensure that the aesthetic features contributing to visual order be at least 2.3 times those that contribute to visual complexity for positive aesthetic perception of a shopping building.

The Reality and Experience of Viewing—Visual Construction and Spiritual Intension of Concept Photography

This article begins with the construction and meaning of conceptual photography, analyzes its aesthetic attitude,and proposes that the reading experience of conceptual photography works through expression of meaning and howto embody its spiritual connotation in the creative process, and “watch” the conceptual photography works becomethe act of interpreting a kind of figurative object, which makes the aesthetic experience of photography works fullyrealized.

The Aesthetic Reception of Poetry Through Painting:“After Apple-Picking”as an Example

Drawing on reader-response criticism,this article aims at analyzing the aesthetic receptive experience of teaching imagery through painting/drawing.We argue that such an approach helps students transcend the limitations of written words by deconstructing the text and reconstructing the meaning,which,in turn,enriches students’creativity,free-thinking,and ability to describe sensory experiences.Our approach,in this case,is a medium of meta-reflection through which students undergo the aesthetic experience while painting/drawing mediates between the text and students’unconscious mind.The role of reader-response through painting/drawing is to unravel the relational structures that mark this creative process.To this end,we applied this method to an undergraduate class of poetry at Taibah University,Saudi Arabia.The sample consisted of forty-four undergraduate students,who were asked to re-present Robert Frost’s poem,“After Apple-Picking,”in painting/drawing.To analyze the students’act of reading,the participants were asked to write reflection letters on how they felt throughout the process of preparing their portraits and,consequently,their replies were used in analyzing their portraits.The study presents a replicable model for application to other genres and literary texts.

Perceptions and Experiences of Adult Learners of Online Learning in the Era of COVID-19 in Ghana

The COVID-19 Pandemic has undoubtedly affected learners,and as such,adjustments need to be made for successful teaching and learning through online learning.However,in Ghana,the effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic did not spare adult learners who are compelled by educational reforms to upgrade themselves academically using online learning platforms.Using a descriptive design,the study explored the perceptions and experiences of 166(online data collection)adult learners as they pursue their academic programs through online learning.An adapted questionnaire on perceptions and online learning experiences developed by Khan,Nabi,Khojah,and Tahir(2021)was used for the data collection.The Confirmatory Factor Analysis technique was used to analyse the data.The study revealed that respondents felt confident while using online learning content but refuted that those technologies permit them to take tests and submit assignments electronically.Furthermore,the study revealed that online learning service was making the learning process very simplified.The revelation means that adult learners possess positive experiences and perceptions about online learning.Therefore,online teaching and learning in higher education institutions should be made a routine activity in Ghana even after the COVID-19 Pandemic because the world is approaching a technological world.

Place Experience of Landscape Sculptures

Human beings rely on natural instinct to feel the world from the beginning of life, the experience in the spatial place reveals the essential point contacting man and environment, also sublimates the relationship between man and environment. To deepen the understanding of the experience in the spatial place, we shift the origin of environmental landscape design from "design environment" to "design experience". The essence of experience is to arouse perception, such as senses, emotions, spirits, thinking, action to participate, among which "form, space, quality" as the carrier of landscape sculpture's place spirit and experience co-form a complete spatial place imagery of landscape sculpture. Place experience makes people able to experience a more detailed and richer world, these construction activities bring innovation consciousness with inner vitality, and detail the means of man observing the world while seeking a pluralistic world.

Experience of, and Perception on Gender Based Violence (GBV) by Pregnant Women in South Eastern Nigeria

Background: Gender-based violence (GBV) is a common women’s sexual and reproductive right violation. Pregnancy could be associated with an increased risk of GBV. Objective: To determine the experience of, and perception on GBV by pregnant Nigerian women. Methodology: A questionnaire-based cross-sectional study involving 250 pregnant women from six selected health facilities in Anambra, Southeastern Nigeria was conducted to elicit their experience of, and perceptions on gender based violence. Data analysis employed statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) version 22.0. Statistical comparison of variables employed Chi-square test, with significance levels comprising of p Results: Only 80 (32.0%) of the respondents were aware of GBV while 17 (6.8%) and 20 (8.0%) had experienced it in the index and previous pregnancies respectively. Physical violence was the most commonly experienced 18 (58.1%), while marital quarrel and drunkenness were the most commonly perceived causes, 21 (26.3%) apiece. Up to 33.7% of the respondents would report GBV to the law enforcement agencies;22.5% would seek medical attention and only 2.5% would do nothing. The most common source of information on GBV was public lecture (32.5%) followed by media (26.3%). As high as 49 (61.3%) of the respondents that are aware of GBV (N = 80), thought that GBV could be prevented while up to 53 (66.3%) were aware of the strategies for its prevention. Conclusion: Awareness of GBV in this study is low (32.0%) while experience is even lower at 6.8%, and 8.0% for the index and previous pregnancies respectively. Information on prevention strategies for GBV is also low. The need to develop comprehensive reproductive health (RH) policy that incorporates GBV and its management, to be taught in educational institutions is highlighted. The importance of public health lectures and the employment of various media platforms as reproductive right enlightenment modalities, towards creating awareness on the prevention and combat of GBV are also highlighted.

Elderly African Americans Insights on the COVID-19 Pandemic: An Exploratory Study of Risk Perception and Personal, Social, and Cultural Factors

This exploratory study examined elderly African Americans attitudes on the COVID-19 pandemic by identifying their perceptions of risk based personal, social, and cultural factors. It seeks to understand their insights toward public health pandemic response initiatives and other efforts to mitigate COVID-19 outbreak response measures impacting elderly African Americans, including policies, interventions, and public information/communication. The effectiveness of pandemic response measures and community caregiving support for the elderly African Americans was examined as well. Respondents in this study were a convenient sample of 60 residents predominantly in a Midwestern metropolitan area. Respondents were eligible for study participation if 1) there were 60 years and over and, 2) African American or people of African descent. A mixed research method design comprising focus groups and online survey was used to collect the data for the study. The respondents characterized the impact of the coronavirus as a personal, family, and community loss (e.g., less socially engaged and burdensome). An overwhelming majority (98.3%) expressed no worries about getting health care if they or their family members needed it. A sizable number of respondents expressed the need for all to be tested to help prevent the spread of the virus.

Illness Narrative: Perceptions and Lived Experiences of Kidney Recipient Clients in Shanghai, China

Terminal kidney disease is a life threatening condition and cause for loss of hope to affected individuals. It affects the individuals physically as well as mentally. The advancement in medical knowledge and technology in transplant surgery has steadily increased the number of kidney recipients. This offers hope for the new lease of life and a wide range of perceptions and experiences with self, society and the new organ. There is minimal research on perceptions and lived experiences of kidney transplant recipients. This study explored the perceptions and lived experiences of individuals with a kidney problem living with a kidney transplant in Shanghai, China. Five in-depth interviews were conducted with five clients. The participant’s age ranged from 25 to 45 years. There were three females and two males. Content analysis using NVivo (11.0) software was applied in data analysis. The findings revealed improved quality of life among kidney recipients;however the clients had low knowledge levels on the condition as well as self care practices in the post transplant period. This caused a lot of psychosocial stress in the clients. The post kidney transplant management strategies should include effective education programs to increase awareness on the condition and self care practices so as to reduce factors associated with psychosocial stress in order to improve the quality of life for the clients in the post kidney transplantation period.

Aesthetic education is an important part of instrumental music teaching content.The study of aesthetic education in instrumental music teaching can not only cultivate sentiment and improve artistic accomplishment,but also promote the healthy and all-round development of students.Through the emotional experience,the students can feel the emotion contained in the music,creating and transmitting the beauty in the performance.This paper starts from the importance of aesthetic education in instrumental music teaching,and analyzes the current situation of aesthetic education in instrumental music teaching,and puts forward corresponding implementation strategies,in order to truly realize the value of talent cultivation and art in instrumental music teaching.

Somewhere This Side of the View from Nowhere: On the Phenomenological Prepredicative Grounding of the Idea of Objectivity

Although objectivity is mainly accounted for in terms of linguistic thought and communication,in this article I will aim to showthat at least one condition of possibility for our understanding of objectivity is grounded on a prepredicative,i. e. pre-linguistic and pre-communicative,level. I will endorse a Husserlian viewpoint on the issue,and I will try to develop some aspects of the Husserlian account of three-dimensional thing-perception by means of which I will showhowprepredicative experience can actually offer us a fundamental element of our common understanding of objectivity. In doing this,it will be necessary to acknowledge thing-perception as being primarily intertwined with indeterminacy. I will claim that only on the basis of such an intuitive and prepredicative access to the things as partially indeterminate,first,and as determinable,second,is it possible to have an understanding of the world as something (at least partially) independent from the intuition (s) all subjects can have of it. By means of the addition of a consciousness of the thing as accessible to other subjects,one achieves a vision of the thing as fully determinate in itself. This"vision",however,takes one to be aware of the determination of the thing as lying beyond any intuitive grasp of it. The result will,thus,be that the prepredicative constitution of our basic sense of objectivity leads us to intend the world as something which should be accounted for (also) by means of sources different from intuition.

Impacts of COVID-19 on tourism and management response from Banff National Park,Canada

The COVID-19 pandemic posed challenges to the tourism sector globally.We investigated changes in visitor demographics,satisfaction level,and its determinants pre-and peri-COVID-19.Data were collected using questionnaire surveys in 2019 and 2021 within Banff National Park(BNP).The data analyses were based on a sample size of 1183 respondents by conducting factor analysis,correlation analysis and stepwise regression analysis.Results highlight that there were fewer international visitors and more local and domestic visitors during the pandemic.Park attributes were evaluated at a higher satisfaction level peri-COVID-19.The quality of the Park facilities and services were the most important satisfaction determinants pre-and peri-COVID-19,and all the Park COVID-19 measures and actions received positive experience from visitors.This research fills this knowledge gap by developing a better understanding in the change of visitor demographics and satisfaction level in BNP under the context of the pandemic.It also provides implication for both scholars and practitioners to understand the impacts of the pandemic on Park visitation.The study can provide insights for utilizing the pandemic as a transformative strength and for mitigating its negative impact on tourism industry.
