The Applicability and Productiveness of a Systematic Literature Review Methodology in Volcanology Research: Case of the Magma Pathway at the Mount Cameroon Volcano

The presented research illustrates the applicability and productiveness of the systematic literature review methodology, a non-empirical methodology in the geological sciences, particularly volcanology. The systematic literature review methodology is a replicable, rigorous, and transparent methodology for synthesizing existing literature to answer questions on a specific topic. The synthesis allows for knowledge consolidation, such as identifying knowledge gaps. In our illustration of this methodology, we focused on the expanding knowledge about the magma pathway at Mount Cameroon, one of Africa’s active volcanoes. Our synthesis of the relevant international geoscience research literature is based on the framework of knowledge about the magma pathway beneath a typical basaltic volcano. The framework has three primary components: magma supply, storage, and transport to erupting vents. Across these components is a total of twelve secondary components. The result is a previously non-existent and fragmented overall understanding of the magma pathway at Mount Cameroon. The gaps in the understanding (such as in the magma supply rates, timescales of chamber processes, and magma ascent rates) may be addressed in future research. Another key implication of the presented research lies in the proof of concept of the systematic literature review methodology as an applicable qualitative research methodology in the study of volcanoes.

This study aims to further promote the inheritance and innovative development of intangible cultural heritage in Yunnan Province,promote the protection,inheritance,integration,and innovation of ethnic culture in Lijiang,strengthen the protection and inheritance of Baisha murals in Lijiang,and change the teaching of art design majors in vocational colleges in Yunnan.Given the lack of traditional Chinese culture and local ethnic culture,this article focuses on the teaching of art design majors in Yunnan vocational colleges.It explores the construction model of the cultural inheritance and innovation carrier of Lijiang Baisha murals to meet the spiritual and cultural needs of the local people,and efforts will be made to promote the high-quality development of the Baisha ethnic area in Lijiang.

Systematic Review of Literature for Smartphones Technology Acceptance Using Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology Model (UTAUT)

Systematic Review and Meta-analysis are techniques which attempt to associate the findings from similar studies and deliver quantitative summaries of the research literature [1]. The Systematic review of research literature identifies the common research methods, research design, sample size, parameters used, survey instruments, etc. used by the group of researchers. This study intends to fulfill this purpose in order to identify common research mythologies, dependent variables, sample sizes, moderators and mediators used in the field of analysing technology adoption based studies that utilizes the UTAUT2 model. This research collected over 59 published articles and conducted descriptive analytics. The results have revealed performance expectancy/perceived usefulness, trust and habit as the best predictors of consumer behavioural intentions towards the adoption of mobile application. Behavioural intention was the best predictor of use behaviour among the 57 articles selected. 274 was the mean sample size of research with 25 mean questionnaire items. SPSS and AMOS were the most common softwares used in all 57 studies, and 32 of those studies used UTAUT1 model while 14 researches incorporated the UTAUT2 model. There were also two promising predictors such as perceived risk on behavioural intention and habit on use behaviour.

The Role of Machine Learning and Deep Learning Approaches to Improve Optical Communication Systems

In recent years, there has been a revolution in the way that we transmit information through optical communication systems, allowing for fast and high-capacity data transmission using optical communication systems. Due to the growing demand for higher-capacity and faster networks, traditional optical communication systems are reaching their limits due to the increasing demand for faster and higher-capacity networks. The advent of machine learning and deep learning approaches has led to the emergence of powerful tools that can dramatically enhance the performance of optical communication systems with significant efficiency improvements. In this paper, we provide an overview of the role that machine learning (ML) and deep learning can play in enhancing the performance of various aspects of optical communication systems, including modulation techniques, channel modelling, equalization, and system optimization methods. The paper discusses the advantages of these approaches, such as improved spectral efficiency, reduced latency, and improved robustness to impairments in the channel, such as spectrum degradation. Additionally, a discussion is made regarding the potential challenges and limitations associated with using machine learning and deep learning in optical communication systems as well as their potential benefits. The purpose of this paper is to provide insight and highlight the potential of these approaches to improve optical communication in the future.

A Case of Lautropia mirabilis Infection in a Lung Transplant Patient and a Review of the Literature

Lautropia mirabilis is an opportunistic pathogen that typically causes intestinal and oral infections when the body’s immune system is compromised or the microbial flora is imbalanced.Respiratory infections caused by Lautropia mirabilis are extremely rare.The symptoms and severity of Lautropia mirabilis infection may vary depending on individual differences and the site of infection.Through a review of relevant literature and this case study,it has been observed that Lautropia mirabilis may also cause pulmonary infectious diseases,and in immunocompromised patients,it can lead to severe infections,potentially resulting in death.

A Case of Waldenström Macroglobulinemia with Acute Kidney Injury as the First Manifestation and Literature Review

Waldenström macroglobulinemia is a rare lymphoid tumor accounting for 2% of all hematological malignancies. Renal complications are less common compared to multiple myeloma, with the most frequent renal manifestations being microproteinuria and microhematuria. This paper presents a case of Waldenström macroglobulinemia with acute kidney injury as the initial manifestation. A 75-year-old male was admitted to the Affiliated Hospital of Hebei University after elevated blood creatinine levels were detected for one day. Upon admission, his blood creatinine was 255 μmol/L, urine protein was 1+, urine erythrocytes were negative, electrophoresis showed IgM positivity in the κ-region, and a bone marrow biopsy indicated a tendency towards lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma. The patient was discharged after receiving a treatment regimen of prednisone acetate, thalidomide, and cyclophosphamide, and continued oral medication outside the hospital. The patient returned two weeks later due to diarrhea and was found to have a blood creatinine level of 985 μmol/L, along with severe acidosis and hyperkalemia. The patient refused renal replacement therapy and was not followed up, resulting in a poor prognosis. Additionally, a review of the literature is provided to contextualize this case within the broader scope of existing research.

Changes in Autonomic Nervous System Activity and Mood of Healthy People after Mindfulness Art Therapy Short Version

The aim of this study was to investigate changes in autonomic nervous system (ANS) activity and mood caused by Mindfulness Art Therapy Short version (MATS). The participants were 20 Japanese college students who were separated into high and low risk groups based on the median score of the General Health Questionnaire (GHQ). MATS consisted of mindfulness exercise and making of art in one session. ANS activity (TP: total energy, LF/HF: sympathetic nervous, HF: parasympathetic nervous system, LF: both sympathetic and parasympathetic) and mood (TA: tension arousal, EA: energy arousal) were measured psychologically before and after MATS. In the high risk group, TP significantly decreased and LF, HF, and LF/HF did not change significantly;while TA significantly decreased and EA significantly increased. In the low risk group, TP and LF significantly increased and HF and LF/HF did not change significantly;while TA significantly decreased and EA showed a non-significant increase. These results suggest that MATS affects the ANS differently for participants with different states of mental health, and particularly promotes activity in low-risk participants. Psychologically, MATS decreased tension or anxiety and increased energy. These findings justify further use of this therapy.

Immunotherapies application in active stage of systemic lupus erythematosus in pregnancy:A case report and review of literature

BACKGROUND Pregnancy in the setting of systemic lupus erythematosus can worsen thecondition from the stable to active stage, with quality of life and fertility desirebeing particular concerns. Pregnancy in the active stage of systemic lupuserythematosus (ASLE), although rare and complicated to manage, can be treatedfavorably with immunotherapies ifs used properly. Here we report such a successcase.CASE SUMMARY A 31-year-old primigravida patient, diagnosed with SLE seven years ago, wasinduced ASLE after a cold at 21 + weeks. The patient’s vital signs on presentationwere normal. Her laboratory exam was remarkable for significant proteinuria,liver and renal dysfunction, and low C3 and C4 levels. Infectious work-up wasnegative. The patient was diagnosed with ASLE. She was given immunosuppressiveagents (methylprednisolone, gamma globulin and azathioprine etc.)and plasma adsorption therapy, monitoring blood pressure every 8 h, fetal heartrate twice a day, and liver and renal function at least twice a week. Successfulmaternal and fetal outcomes are presented here.CONCLUSION Child-bearing in ASLE has become more promising, even for this difficult case ofASLE with multiple organ damage. Thorough antepartum counseling, cautiousmaternal-fetal monitoring, and multi-organ function monitoring bymultidisciplinary specialties are keys to favorable pregnancy outcomes.

Scientific literature on monosialoganglioside in the Science Citation Index-Expanded A bibliometric analysis of articles from 1942 to 2011 by each decade

BACKGROUND： The monosialoganglioside （GM1） is a popular topic of research but the bibliometric analysis of GM1 over the decades in Science Citation Index-Expanded （SCI-E） remains poorly understood. OBJECTIVE： To identify the global research and to improve the understanding of research trends in the GM1 field from 1942 to 2011. DESIGN： A bibliometric study. DATA RETRIEVAL： We performed a bibliometric analysis based on the SCI-E published by the Institute of Scientific Information. INCLUSIVE CRITERIA： Articles closely related to GM1 were included. Exclusive criteria： （1） Articles related to gangliosidosis, disialo-ganglioside, trisialo-ganglioside or ganglioside GQIb. （2） Document types such as meeting abstracts, reviews, proceedings papers, notes, and letters. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES： （1） Type of publication output; （2） number of author outputs; （3） distribution of output in subject categories; （4） publication distribution of countries; （5） distribution of output in journals, and （6） distribution of citations in each decade. RESULTS： During 1942 to 2011, there were 10 126 papers on GM1 that were added to the SCI. Articles （8 004） were the most frequently used document type comprising 79.0%, followed by meeting abstracts, reviews and proceedings papers. Research on GM1 could be found in the SCI from 1942, it was developed in the 1970s, greatly increased in the 1980s, and reached a peak in the 1990s, and it was slightly decreased in 2000. The distribution of subject categories showed that GM1 research covered both clinical and basic science research. The USA, Japan, and Germany were the three most productive countries, and the publication numbers in the USA were highest in all decades. The Joumal of Biological Chemistry, Journal of Neurochemistry and Biochemistry were core subject journals in GM1 studies in each decade. CONCLUSION： This study highlights the topics in GM1 research that are being published around the world.

The potential biological mechanisms of obesity effects on depression: A systematic review of the literature and knowledge mining

Depression and obesity (BMI ≥ 30) have been recognized as major public health issues worldwide. Although they have traditionally been compartmentalized as separate physical and emotional health conditions, evidence has suggested interactions and common pathways between them, implying that they probably shared common underlying biological mechanisms. By a systematic review of the literature and knowledge mining, we explore a potential biological mechanism of obesity effects on depression. Bioactivators in the body of obesity including adiponectin, leptin and its receptors, ghrelin, endocannabinoids and orexin receptors may contribute to depression by the hypothalamic pituitary adrenal axis, psycho-neuro-immunological system, neurovegetative system and brain areas control of mood and emotion such as hippocampus, cortex and amygdala.
