Professional Development of County-level Physical Education Teachers from the Perspective of the New Curriculum Standards:A Case Study of Huaiji County

Using methods such as questionnaire survey and literature review,a survey was conducted on the professional development of physical education teachers in Huaiji County under the background of the new curriculum standards.The research results found that physical education teachers in Huaiji County have a relatively good distribution structure in terms of teaching experience,age,and education level,but the gender ratio and professional title ratio need to be improved.In terms of professional competence,teachers have shown good performance in teaching implementation ability,but there is still room for improvement in teaching design ability.A certain proportion of teachers still express dissatisfaction with professional title promotion,hardware configuration satisfaction,salary and benefits,and school reward mechanisms.Based on this,this study proposes some measures to improve the professional development level of county-level physical education teachers,such as enhancing teachers teaching design and implementation abilities,strengthening the cultivation of technical action demonstration abilities,improving hardware configuration satisfaction and teaching effectiveness reflection level,strengthening guidance and support for teachers professional development,and enhancing the promotion and implementation of post employment training.

Reaching for the Gold Standard: Metaphors and Good University Teachers

This article considers "good" teachers in the context of current developments in universities in China to reach a "gold standard" of considerably higher and more challenging levels of teaching and learning. We outline this context and consider concepts of good teachers in classical Chinese traditions and more recent Western thinking as a possible dialogue within and between cultures of learning. Using cognitive and cultural linguistic perspectives, we analyze metaphorical concepts of "gold" in "the gold standard" as related to teachers. We report our applied metaphor research which analyzes Chinese students’ expectations, values and beliefs about good university language teachers;this presents a rich picture beyond developing knowledge, skills and understanding to include strong social and moral characteristics. Other aspects which recognize the complexity of "good" teachers show a student appreciation of teachers’ tireless effort, devotion and selfless sacrifice: these aspects are absent in many discussions of good teachers. The participant-centered picture from elicited metaphor analysis is part of students’ "cultures of learning," but this should be developed culturally for the gold standard through further teacher development and student engagement. In line with interaction in cultures of learning, we indicate some classroom ways to extend students’ thinking through scaffolding teacher-student interaction based on textbook activities.

A Study of CFL Teacher Competency in the U.S.: An Overview of Professional Guidelines, Resources, and Standards

Chinese as a foreign language (CFL) is a critical language in the United States, and the importance to have competent CFL teachers has been more and more realized. However, the literature does not show sufficient research on CFL teacher competency. To fill the gap, a series of exploratory research studies are initiated. As a part of the initiation, this study overviews the professional guidelines, resources, standards and requirements for CFL education in the U.S. at the national and state levels. The findings will be useful for designing teacher education program and teacher training program. In addition, student teachers, pre-service teachers, and in-service teachers can also use them as great references for their academic and/or professional development.

A comparative analysis of information literacy curriculum standards in the educational programs of high schools in China and in the United States

Our study aims to take a closer look at China's current information literacy(IL) program standards at secondary schools and to analyze their level of success and/or failures in a comparative way with those of the United States in terms of fulfilling their each other's mission-oriented mandates. Our research findings show that China's current IL standards of high schools contain a disproportionate emphasis on information technology(IT). Moreover, the stipulations of these IL standards are narrowly construed and without being solidly grounded on a broad and comprehensive educational perspective. We also suggest that there are two underlying causes for this set of unsound IL standards in China.Firstly, there is a lack of collaboration between two major competing forces engaged in the curricular development and research of IL in China: Those professionals in educational IT discipline vis-à-vis those in Library and Information Science. Secondly, library professionals have a very limited influence on major socio-cultural policies, even at their own institutions. As a result, this paper recommends the following three possible measures,which may help remedy this situation strategically: 1) Establishing a set of new IL curriculum standards based on an IL-centered educational perspective; 2) establishing a teacher-librarian's training program to promote school librarians' role in IL education; and 3) strengthening the research and development of an online IL education program and an accompanied evaluation mechanism.

Grand Opening of the Plenary Meeting on Publicity of the 2005 World Standard Day

Organized by the Standard Administration of China (SAC), the plenary meeting on publicity of the 2005 World Standards Day was held on October 14, 2005 at the Great Hall of People. Surrounding the theme of this year's World Standards Day - "Standards for a Safer World", the meeting made publicized the status of construction and implementation of the food safety and production safety standard system of our country,the result of clearance on national standards and the announcement of formal operation of the system for online free-of-charge access to the full text of national compulsory standards, and the system for online distribution and service of national standards. Attending the meeting were Li Changjiang, Director of AQSIQ, Li Chuanqing,Party Group Secretary of AQSIQ, Li Zhonghai, Director of SAC, high-ranking officers of relevant departments of the State Council, Chen Xiaohong, Vice-minister of Ministry of Health, Wang Xianzheng, Vice-director of the National General Bureau of Supervision and Administration on Production Safety, and representatives and experts from enterprises of various sectors with a total of over 300 people. On the Philosophical Basis and Path Expression of the Integrative Model of Teacher Education

住院医师规范化培训师资队伍能力提升路径探讨

住院医师规范化培训(简称“住培”)指导医师的综合能力和素质是培养优秀住院医师的重要保障,也是影响住培质量的关键要素。随着我国住培管理制度的不断完善,住培师资队伍能力提升最主要的途径已不仅限于师资培训,骨干师资培育计划也逐渐成为高效提升住培师资能力的创新途径。骨干师资培育计划将住培师资培养目标进行了更加细致的划分,指导医师以自身教学业绩及教学能力水平等为基础,通过开展一系列的教学活动逐步提高综合教学能力。教学管理部门组织专家通过遴选体系、培训体系、考核体系对骨干师资培育对象进行严格的三级培育体系管理,严把入口、过程、出口三个关键环节,强调过程管理和目标考核,并引入住培督导反馈机制,同时配套资助及激励政策。骨干师资培育计划的开展探索了住培师资队伍建设的新途径,对逐步分层次提升住培师资能力提供新的思路。

关于新时代中国教师素养模型建构的前提性思考

明确“新时代中国”对教师素养模型建构的意蕴,厘清教师素养概念,以及选择教师素养分析的路径与方法,是建构新时代中国教师素养模型的前提性工作。“新时代”对教师素养模型建构的意蕴不只是增加一些新元素,更在于以变革素养为导向的素养结构变化;“中国”之于教师素养模型的意蕴可从解决中国问题、对接中国话语和形成中国特色三个方面去理解。“综合/整体素养”概念更符合教师职业情境,并有别于素质、能力和胜任力等概念。建构教师素养模型,需要将基于研究/理论、基于实践和基于专家知识三种路径有机结合、综合运用,并需坚持三个原则:一是既要基于研究成果,又要重视汇聚相关当事人的共识;二是在未来性与现实性之间做好平衡;三是兼顾有效性与经济性。

20世纪80年代末以来,在提高教育质量的诉求推动下,各国纷纷制定教师专业标准或素养框架。国际经验显示:教师专业标准能否实现预期的目的,首先取决于我们研制什么样的标准以及如何实施这些标准,标准的目的与功能定位、形式与结构、研制主体与方式、实施方式与配套体系等,都是影响标准有效性的重要因素。我国现行的《教师专业标准》存在功能定位缺乏精准指向,结构缺乏真正有效的层次区分以及实施缺乏有机配套体系等问题。今后应该基于导向优先、兼顾评价的功能定位修订《教师专业标准》;重视标准的修订过程与方式,促进标准的有效传播和实施;以《教师专业标准》为基点,构建教师教育质量保障体系。

“双师型”教师标准实施背景下“双师素质”探究:价值意蕴、本质内涵与提升路径

加强双师素质培养是“双师型”职教教师队伍建设的必然之举。“双师型”的价值意蕴在于通过双师素质促进职业教育教师、学生和体系的发展,本质内涵在于职教教师“双师素质”合一,落脚点在于双师素质合一的专业教学能力提升。该专业教学能力的提升需要在明晰职教教师队伍结构的基础上,理解“三性合一”理念下专业教学能力的核心要素及其发展阶段,落实体现双师素质要求的专业教学能力提升策略,优化促进教师专业发展的“双师型”教师标准体系。

《高校外语教师专业素养标准》的确立依据及其内涵解读

高校外语教师专业素养包括育人素养、学科素养、教学素养、科研素养、数字素养和学习素养。这六个素养既相互联系、相互促进,又相互区别,构成外语教师素养的具体指标。本文介绍了高校外语教师专业素养确立的依据及其相互之间的关系,并着重从正确价值观、核心知识、关键能力、必备品格四个构成要素视角阐释了专业素养的内涵。最后,我们对教师专业素养标准的使用提出建议。

新时代中国教师应具备什么样的素养?——基于教师视角的“新时代中国教师素养模型”的调查验证

自21世纪以来,厘清教师素养的内涵并建构相应框架或模型,成为教师教育领域的一个研究热点。然而,目前关于教师素养模型的研究在很大程度上缺乏充分的理论基础与实证依据。本研究通过大型问卷调查,了解教师群体对新时代教师所需素养的看法,并在此基础上检验“新时代中国教师素养模型”,判断其内容和结构是否合理。结果显示:尽管存在内部差异,但是教师整体高度认同教师应该具备学科素养、通识素养、学习支持、全人教育、沟通合作、发展改进和师德情怀这七大素养;“两种专业角色×四种专业关系”框架作为教师素养的推导逻辑是合理可行的,并且,“新时代中国教师素养模型”对教师素养的结构化解释是成立的。本研究将丰富教师素养理论研究,并有可能为我国未来修订教师专业标准、促进教师队伍发展建设和推进教师教育课程改革提供决策依据。
