Taking Baoding City as an example, the status quo of service facilities layout was analyzed based on the POI data. Using the spatial accessibility algorithm, the ranges of 15-minute life circle of more than 1000 communities in Baoding were determined. By calculating the up-to-standard rates of public service facilities in each district, it is found that the allocation of medical facilities and commercial facilities in urban community life circle is relatively perfect, but the allocation of public cultural facilities and pension facilities is obviously inadequate. Based on this, optimization suggestions on the layout of public service facilities in the 15-minute life circle were put forward from three aspects: facilities sharing, function mixing and population structure and activity characteristics differentiation. It not only provides data and technical support for the planning and construction of community life circle in Baoding city, but also provides referable examples and promotable models for the community planning of third-tier cities.展开更多

Recent studies combined the environmental contexts with residents’ global positioning system(GPS) data to delineate the life circles. This method, however, is constrained by GPS data, and it can only be applied in the GPS surveyed communities. To address this limitation, this study developed a generalizable delineation method without the constraint of behavioral data. According to previous research, the community life circle consists of the walking-accessible range and internal structure. The core task to develop the generalizable method was to estimate the spatiotemporal behavioral demand for each plot of land to acquire the internal structure of the life circle, as the range can be delineated primarily based on environmental data. Therefore, behavioral demand estimation models were established through logistic regression and machine learning techniques, including decision trees and ensemble learning. The model with the lowest error rate was chosen as the final estimation model for each type of land. Finally, we used a community without GPS data as an example to demonstrate the effectiveness of the estimation models and delineation method. This article extends the existing literature by introducing spatiotemporal behavioral demand estimation models, which learn the relationships between environmental contexts, population composition and the existing delineated results based on GPS data to delineate the internal structure of the community life circle without employing behavioral data. Furthermore, the proposed method and delineation results also contributes to facilities adjustments and location selections in life circle planning, people-oriented transformation in urban planning, and activity space estimation of the population in evaluating and improving the urban policies.展开更多

The study was qualitative in nature with a phenomenological interpretive paradigm dominating the philosophical approach. The research methods adopted combined life story and grounded theory. As far as the author has been able to determine there are very few, if any studies which have applied this approach specifically to this area of research which investigated the influence life history has on attitude to lifelong learning. Twenty five respondents were interviewed in face-to-face informal interviews. The main aim was to elicit the respondent's subjective interpretation of the interaction between school, family, work, and learning within their lives. The researcher was then able to identify when they occurred and what or who made them particularly meaningful. This paper describes how initial decisions were made regarding the substantive area for the research. Sampling technique and method for collecting the data is discussed and a worked example is given of how the data was analysed. It is intended that this paper will give an insight into the challenge of combining these two much debated methods of research. The empirical data lead to some interesting findings which educators and policy makers will find helpful in order to strengthen the school, college, and workplace interface.展开更多

Aim of the Work: In this study we want to assess the impact of cognitive impairment on the health related quality of life (HR-QOL) of community dwelling non demented elderly. Subject and Method: 115 non demented elderly, 60 years and older recruited from outpatient geriatric clinic at Al Mansoura General Hospital, Dakahlia, Egypt. Each participant underwent, comprehensive geriatric assessment, assessing cognitive function using the mini-mental state examination (MMSE) and montreal cognitive function test, assessing the health related quality of life (HR-QOL) by the RAND-36 health survey. Results: We found that the elderly with impaired cognition by both MMSE and Montreal test were significantly older;the ones with lower education, with more depressive symptoms, had more functional impairment and had lower HR-QOL scores than the elderly with normal cognitive function, after controlling for confounders still cognition was a determinant of HR-QOL. Also by linear correlation coefficient a significant correlation between HR-QOL and age, function, cognition and depression was found. Conclusion: Cognition affects significantly HR-QOL of the elderly, so we can say that interventions targeting cognition in the elderly can significantly improve their QOL.展开更多

During the course of this process dam suffers lots of factors including changing temperature, humidity, deformation, loads and restraints around dam. With time going by, damage to darn concrete happens. As a result, the strength, stiffness and resistance of concrete will decrease accompanying with damage accumulation and dam structure performance behavior and lifetime will be shorten or even destructed. At present, most of researches focus on concrete material itself and seldom consider effects of water content for concrete structures. That is apparently inconsistent with the actual situation. In engineering practice, it is urgently needed to assess existing dam structure damage state considering dry zoning in concrete. Through taking C30 dam concrete as standard specimen, alternate freezing and thawing tests are undertaken and changing law of time-dependent concrete damage state resulting in alternate wetting and drying has been studied in this paper. And then calculation formulas of time-dependent concrete damage evolution process considering alternate wetting and drying under condition of freeze-thaw cycle tests are established. Combining with four parameters Hsieh-Ting-Chen ( H -T-C ) model, some relevant factors or parameters are obtained through indoor testing and life prediction model of concrete dam based on dry zoning and damage theory is put forward which provides technical supports for dam safety evaluation and management of sustainable development.展开更多

The book of changes of China: The great ultimate - two states - four images - eight hexagrams are life science and thought science theories, which represent the fundamental mode of universal unification, i.e. represent l) structural mode, operational mode, generation mode and evolution mode of life; 2) the four states that life has simultaneously: 0 dimension, ] dimension, 2 dimension, 3 dimension, and these four states have different structural and operational modes respectively; 3) the breathing and four seasonal trajectories of celestial bodies; 4) three generation modes of life: generation by transformation, generation by augmentation, and self-generation; 5) five dynamics systems inside life; 6) the sublimation and degration of life in the universe, the unification of religion and science; 7) the classification mode of the universal being; 8) the derivation mode of life; 9) the transformation between different forms of life in the universe; 10) the unification of six grand forces in the universe. All life systems in the universe: galaxy, organism, society, man-made worlds as well as cognitive science, natural science, social science are all in conform with the mode of the book of changes.
文摘BACKGROUND The comprehension and utilization of timing theory and behavior change can offer a more extensive and individualized provision of support and treatment alternatives for primipara. This has the potential to enhance the psychological well-being and overall quality of life for primipara, while also furnishing healthcare providers with efficacious interventions to tackle the psychological and physiological obstacles encountered during the stages of pregnancy and postpartum.AIM To explore the effect of timing theory combined with behavior change on selfefficacy, negative emotions and quality of life in patients with primipara.METHODS A total of 80 primipara cases were selected and admitted to our hospital between August 2020 and May 2022.These cases were divided into two groups, namely the observation group and the control group, with 40 cases in each group. The nursing interventions differed between the two groups, with the control group receiving routine nursing and the observation group receiving integrated nursing based on the timing theory and behavior change. The study aimed to compare the pre-and post-nursing scores of Chinese Perceived Stress Scale(CPSS),Edinburgh Postpartum Depression Scale(EPDS),Self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),breast milk knowledge,self-efficacy,and SF-36 quality of life in both groups.RESULTS After nursing, the CPSS,EPDS,and SAS scores of the two groups was significantly lower than that before nursing, and the CPSS,EPDS,and SAS scores of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group(P=0.002,P=0.011,and P=0.001 respectively). After nursing, the breastfeeding knowledge mastery, selfefficacy, and SF-36 quality of life scores was significantly higher than that before nursing, and the breastfeeding knowledge mastery(P=0.013),self-efficacy(P=0.008),and SF-36 quality of life(P=0.011)scores of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group.CONCLUSION The integration of timing theory and behavior change integrated theory has been found to be an effective approach in alleviating negative mood and stress experienced by primipara individuals, while also enhancing their selfefficacy and overall quality of life. This study focuses on the key concepts of timing theory, behavior change, primipara individuals, negative mood, and quality of life.

文摘The studies show that numerous complex networks have clustering effect. It is an indispensable step to identify node clusters in network, namely community,in which nodes are closely related, and in many applications such as identification of ringleaders in anti-criminal and anti-terrorist network, efficient storage of data in Wireless Sensor Network(WSN).At present, most of community identification methods still require the specifications of the number or the scale of community by user and still can not handle overlapping nodes. In an attempt to solve these problems,a network community identification method based on utility value is proposed, which is a function of each node's clustering coefficient and degree. This method makes use of individual-centered theory for reference and can automatically determine the number of communities. In addition, this method is an overlapping community identification method in nature. It is shown through contrastive experiments that this method is more efficient than other methods based on individual-centered theory when they control the same amount of information. Finally,a research direction is proposed for network community identification method based on the individual-centered theory.

文摘Instead of studying the impact of media on society, the traditional"top down"orientation of most communication studies scholars, this keynote presentation adopted the opposite perspective, exploring the"bottom-up"impact of"society"on"media".Unlike conventional"agenda-setting theory",which suggests that nationally prominent news media set issue"agendas"for other news media and public opinion, and also unlike the"guard dog"view that media essentially protect the interests of political and economic elites, the"community structure theory"explores links between different community(typically city or nation-state)demographics and variations in reporting on critical health concerns.Summarizing his scholarship on health communication presented and published over decades, the speaker outlined community structure theory's illumination of two overall patterns in US and cross-national coverage of health communication issues. In US coverage, broad measures of economically"buffered"privilege(educational, income,or occupational advantage)are linked to"favorable"or"government responsibility"coverage of health issues, and specific measures of"health"privilege(physicians, hospitals)are connected to"favorable"or"government responsibility"coverage promoting selected health issues. In cross-national coverage, specific measures of national"health vulnerability"(such as percent without improved water access, infant mortality rate)are linked to"government"responsibility coverage for selected health issues(human trafficking, water handling/contamination).In addition, broad measures of"macro"vulnerability conditions(agricultural dependence, political instability)are associated with"government"responsibility coverage for a wide range of health issues(genetically modified foods, drug trafficking, condom promotion, and food security).Overall, community structure theory's"bottom up"perspective reveals how the vulnerable are empowered by their demographic alignment with variations in health communication.
文摘To investigatetheinfluences of the application of human care theory on the life quality and happiness of cancer patients after they receiveda community nursing care which was implemented by the human care theory. The quality life and the happiness index of 93 patients with cancer living in the six communities in Jillin were assessed, the assessment of the life quality was based on a life quality scale (SF-36) and that of the happiness index was based on Memorial University of Newfoundland Scale of Happiness (MUNSH). The community nurses cared for these patients by applying the theory of human care and the life quality and the happiness index of the patients were observed after the care. The results showed that there were significant differences in the score of 5 dimensions in the eight dimensions of the life quality between before the care and after the care (<0.05), and there were significant differences in the average sores of the positive emotion, positive experience, negative emotion, negative experience and level of happiness included in the happiness index between before the care and after the care (<0.05), suggesting that the theory of human care can be used for the care of patients with cancer and the application of the theory can effectively improve the life quality and the happiness index of the patients, strengthen their problem-solving abilities and let them have a positive attitude towards their lives.
文摘This study aimed to examine the relationship of finding meaning to life with the level of depression and investigates the effect of using breathing theory in treating or reducing depression in a sample of individuals suffering from depression in the Kuwait Mental Health Center. In order to achieve these objectives, the researcher used the descriptive and analytical approach through an applied questionnaire on the study sample which consist of (380) individuals and the quasi-experimental approach by dividing the study sample individuals into two groups;control group consisted of (190) individuals and experimental group consist of (190) individuals. Also, the researcher developed meaning of life scale and breathing strategy, also used beck depression inventory scale. The study found a set of results, there is a negative relationship between finding meaning in life and depression and there are statistically significant differences between the members of the two groups due to the use of the breathing strategy, in favor of the experimental group. In the light of this result, the study came out with a set of recommendations, the most important of which are holding training and educational courses for depressed patients on ways and methods of finding meaning in life, as these courses have the benefit in reducing the level of depression among patients.

文摘Objectives:To describe the quality of life(QOL)of adults≥60 years of age in communities in Beijing and explore demographic, clinical, and psychological factors associated with QOL.Methods:This was a cross-sectional study.A total of 363 older adults were recruited,in which 313 completed the questionnaires.Depressive symptoms were measured with the Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS)and QOL was analyzed with the 36-item short form(SF-36).The t-test and Mann-Whitney U tests were used to compare QOL by gender and age group.Factors associated with QOL were determined using multiple linear regression. Results:Among 313 older adults, depressive symptoms were observed to be prevalent to the extent of 16.6%.Overall,participants had higher QOL in the domains of social role functioning and emotional role functioning, with lower QOL in the domains of physical functioning and general health perceptions. There were no significant differences in QOL between women and men. However, there were significant differences between different age groups, with older adults having better mental QOL than younger adults.Better physical QOL was associated with less depressive symptoms, having a partner, and younger age(R2=28.7%).Better mental QOL was associated with less depressive symptoms, less chronic disease, and older age(R^(2)=34.7%).Conclusions:With aging, physical QOL was lower and mental QOL was better.Less depressive symptoms, having a spouse or partner, and young-old age assert positive influence on physical QOL of the older adults;and less depressive symptoms,no chronic disease, and older age assert positive influence on mental QOL.
文摘This paper describes the research carried out in partial fulfilment of the degree of doctor of education. The empirical data lead to some interesting findings which educators and policy makers will find helpful in order to strengthen the school, college, and workplace interface.
文摘Quality of life (QOL) is an important topic in social and medical sciences, it has a multidimensional nature and is influenced by many factors. Conclusion: Cognition affects significantly HR-QOL of the elderly, so we can say that interventions targeting cognition in the elderly can significantly improve their QOL.

文摘Concrete dam construction, reservoir impoundment and operation are a complicated and long-term process. Combining with four parameters Hsieh-Ting-Chen ( H -T-C ) model, some relevant factors or parameters are obtained through indoor testing and life prediction model of concrete dam based on dry zoning and damage theory is put forward which provides technical supports for dam safety evaluation and management of sustainable development.
