In particular, the extraction process of metaphor design seems to be related to the concept of Saussure signs. Therefore, this research <span>took the doll design of the Tiantoushui community in Changhua County, Ta</span>iwan as an example and attempted to use the Saussure concept to extract and evaluate the signs of bio-inspired design. The results showed that a total of three doll works symbolized respectively rice, guava, and pomelo implied the signification of local region by integrating the Saussure code image with the sign-image of the regional nature and transforming its content into “com<span>modity design” and further transferring into “the product value of cultural an</span>d creative”. The human as an“animal symbolicum”(by Ernst Cassirer)is a unique being included simultaneously in two semiospheres.One of them is the semiosphere of conventional signs and symbols created by himself in culture.The o...The human as an“animal symbolicum”(by Ernst Cassirer)is a unique being included simultaneously in two semiospheres.One of them is the semiosphere of conventional signs and symbols created by himself in culture.The other semiosphere of natural signals and indexes is available to the human as an animal together with other living beings.Both these semiospheres described correspondingly by Y.Lotman and E.Hoffmeyer,are the subjects of anthroposemiotics and biosemiotics,semiotics of culture,and semiotics of nature.Their interaction is a subject of human ecosemiotics.Both external communicative processes among people and the internal mental activity of individuals contain together natural and cultural semiotic components that interact and counteract with each other.In these processes,the natural signal-indexical codes can be transformed and supplemented by cultural conventions(if,for example,natural expressive movements are subordinated to cultural norms of gesticulation)or modified from pure cognitive means to means of communication―as the codes mediating transmission of perceptual images by depictions.Natural codes can compete with systems of cultural signs on the force of influence on people(as in various fashion systems)or in accordance with them participate in the creation of complex heterogeneous texts(as in arts).展开更多
High enzymatic activity is required for laccase applications.Central composite design (CCD)-based response surface methodology (RSM) can effectively increase the enzymatic activity of Pleurotus ostreatus P40 in li...High enzymatic activity is required for laccase applications.Central composite design (CCD)-based response surface methodology (RSM) can effectively increase the enzymatic activity of Pleurotus ostreatus P40 in liquid substrate fermentation.Initial screening of the nutritional components was performed using a Plackett-Burman design.The variables,namely,bran,bagasse,Tween 80,and yeast extract,were found to have statistically significant effects on laccase activity.These variables were further optimized using CCD-based RSM.Optimal concentrations for the maximum laccase activity were 8.144 2 g/L bran,50 g/L bagasse,0.424 1 mL/L Tween 80,and 2.832 5 g/L yeast extract.Under optimized conditions,the maximum measured laccase activity reached 96 480 U/L,which was close to the predicted value (104 830 U/L) by RSM.Therefore,RSM can be used to optimize culture components for laccase activity from Pieurotus ostreatus P40.展开更多
