Exploration of the Role of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality in Revolutionizing Art Education

Virtual reality(VR)and augmented reality(AR)technologies have become increasingly important instruments in the field of art education as information technology develops quickly,transforming the conventional art education approach.The present situation,benefits,difficulties,and potential development tendencies of VR and AR technologies in art education will be investigated in this study.By means of literature analysis and case studies,this paper presents the fundamental ideas of VR and AR technologies together with their several uses in art education,namely virtual museums,interactive art production,art history instruction,and distant art cooperation.The research examines how these technologies might improve students’immersion,raise their learning motivation,and encourage innovative ideas and multidisciplinary cooperation.Practical application concerns including technology costs,content production obstacles,user acceptance,privacy,and ethical questions also come under discussion.At last,the article offers ideas and suggestions to help VR and AR technologies be effectively integrated into art education through teacher training,curriculum design,technology infrastructure development,and multidisciplinary cooperation.This study offers useful advice for teachers of art as well as important references for legislators and technology developers working together to further the creative growth of art education. 展开更多

The paper discusses selected works of Polish women artists and directors who employ various forms of audiovisual presentation: film, video art, and new media. The author wrote it from the perspective of a film scholar whose interests focus on women directors and problems of cultural and gender identity in the contemporary cinema. Nevertheless, she decided to expand her research area to include works of Polish female artists who utilise the media and these means of expression that can be analysed in regard to modern film studies. She adopted the theoretical, feminist, and gender perspective, also applying the methodology of cultural studies in their broadest definition. This enables the author to situate the movies under discussion in diverse contexts and theoretical concepts. The purpose of the paper is thus not to offer a comprehensive or historical discussion of women's input into audiovisual arts of Central and East European Countries, but to emphasise complexity and demonstrate dynamics of their artistic creativity in Poland particularly. In her analysis, Radkiewicz considers four different research approaches: historical, theoretical (which refers to film and media studies), artistic, and identity related ones. From this perspective, she investigates filmmakers' and artists' strategies of using the cinematic field, film conventions, and means of representations, which are the foundation of their narrative expression. 展开更多

While images are central to the discipline of art history, surprisingly little research has been conducted on the uses of digital environments for teaching in the discipline. Over the past decade, more studies have emerged considering the egalitarian space that can be used by students and teachers in web-based applications and social media. A body of literature has begun to emerge out of a small network of scholars and educators interested in digital humanities and art history, providing examples of how new tools can be integrated into the standard slideshow and lecture format of the field. At the same time, the latest technology that proves revolutionary for the field has had very little study-virtual reality (VR). Additionally, sensory evidence for digital art history and the creation of immersive interactive and multimodal environments for knowledge production is still underexplored. As multiple educational metaverses are currently under development, understanding best practices and pedagogical use of VR has never been timelier. This study seeks to review the pedagogical use of VR in art history current in the field and introduces results from a study of the most effective ways to use these immersive experiences using Bloom’s revised taxonomy. Results confirm that the most effective method to structure VR assignments is to provide training on the technology, provide students with the necessary instructional material to introduce the concept, skill or technique to be learned, create or select an immersive experience that reinforces that topic, and conclude with a debrief or discussion about major takeaways from the experience. 展开更多

中锰钢是一种典型的第3代汽车钢,其冷轧后奥氏体逆转变(Austenite reverted transformation,ART)退火过程中亚稳奥氏体的有效调控是获得优异性能的关键环节之一。研究经热轧和冷轧变形后的中锰钢(0.15C-5Mn-Al)在675℃时奥氏体逆转变退... 中锰钢是一种典型的第3代汽车钢,其冷轧后奥氏体逆转变(Austenite reverted transformation,ART)退火过程中亚稳奥氏体的有效调控是获得优异性能的关键环节之一。研究经热轧和冷轧变形后的中锰钢(0.15C-5Mn-Al)在675℃时奥氏体逆转变退火工艺,基于扫描电镜、电子背散射衍射、X射线衍射等微观表征技术和力学性能测试,研究退火过程中微观组织演变规律,给出奥氏体形态、含量、晶粒度等微观组织特征与力学性能之间的关系。研究表明:中锰钢(0.15C-5Mn-Al)经过合理的ART退火处理后强塑积(Rm×A)可达40 GPa·%,亚稳奥氏体的形态、含量、尺寸和稳定性对钢材的强度和塑性有重要的影响,中锰钢的塑性和强塑积随着亚稳奥氏体含量的增加而提高。 展开更多

Kirigami arts have provided a more promising method for building multiscale structures,which can shape two-dimensional(2D)sheets into three-dimensional(3D)configurations by cutting and folding.Here,we first carried out a theoretical analysis of the mechanical properties of 2D honeycomb lattice structures and experimental verification combined with finite element(FE)simulation.Furthermore,a series of thick-walled 3D kirigami-inspired honeycomb(TW3KH)structures with different mechanical properties were designed and fabricated on the exploration and optimization of geometric parameters of 2D honeycomb structures.The investigations of folding feasibility,self-expansion,and self-folding performance experimentally showed that our designed four-dimensional(4D)printing structure had good programmability and shape memory capability and a large volume change ratio during shape change.Meanwhile,research on its compression deformation behavior found that the TW3KH structures can recover load-bearing capacity very well when the angle is positive.Therefore,these TW3KH structures have great advantages in space-saving smart load-bearing equipment. 展开更多

One of the suggestions presented in current literature is the development of critical reflection Educational environment can play a major role in this domain. The need for the development of critical reflection is especially noted in the higher education framework. Universities can become a "holding" environment for transformation. This study underlines the importance of preparing young students as future professionals and citizens, by developing their critical reflection. A practical method is discussed and concerns the use and benefits of the aesthetic experience in a transformative learning procedure. The research presented here is based on the application of this method and aims to the reinforcement of specific dimensions of adulthood in a university environment. The application was carried out on students of the department of educational studies at a Greek regional university.
