University Inspirational Speech(UIS), as a significant part of American's higher education, is considered as an encouraging, convincing and motivating lesson to students. UIS might have a great effect on student's outlook of life, helping them to grow as adults armed with noble ideals and entrepreneurial spirits. In order to convey the spirit of original speakers, it is crucial to choose a proper translation theory as a direction. Based on Skopos theory, the paper studied 2014 American UIS translation from the aspect of three rules of Skopos theory, presenting the application of the theory in translation process and to find out how the Skopos theory guides a translation process.

Analysis of Translation on Conversations in A Dream in Red Mansions via the Perspective of Speech Act Theory

From the perspective of Speech Act Theory, it aims to analyze the translation of a novel—A Dream in Red Mansions provided by Yang Xianyi. It analyzes and appraises some conversations via a simple evaluation model based on the realization of three speech acts that the writer would like to let readers understand. It finally arrives at the conclusion that the quoted version of conversations is vivid and appropriate except for a few expressions.

Conversion refers to the transformation of parts of speech in some words while maintaining the original content unchanged in order to make the translated text sound smooth and fluent as well as more idiomatic in the target language. In E-C translation, conversion of pars of speech is one of the most important translation methods. Several different forms about conversion of parts of speech are introduced through analyzing the differences and usages between the two languages so that a better version in E-C translation can be got.

An Analysis of Translation Strategies of Corporate Annual Reports From the Perspective of Appraisal Theory

Based on Martin’s theory of appraisal and a self-built corpus of the chairman’s speech in Huawei’s 2020 annual report,this paper explores the expressions and translation strategies of the attitudes in the speech.It is found that Huawei’s corporate image shaped by its annual report speech is characterized by progressive,people-oriented,and customer-oriented characteristics.These characteristics are not only related to the actions of Huawei itself,but also related to the application of translation strategies and methods by translators.Annual report speech is an important part of the company’s self-image publicity.Translators should try to use the same type of words to express explicit attitudes in the speech,so as to improve the social recognition of the annual report speech.

The Comparative Study of Two Translated Texts on Huangdirent Translating Styles o'n s Internal Classics——Simple Analysis on the Diffe Culture-Specific Lexicon, Figure of Speech and Four-Chinese-Character Structures

Huangdi's Internal Classics(Neijin) is one of the most important ancient medical classics, which plays far-reaching influence in medical field. More and more domestic and overseas scholars published their translated texts on Neijing. Due to the diversity of editions and different understanding, the translating styles and contents are widely different. This study will focus on the different translating styles on culture-specific lexicon、figure of speech and four-Chinese-character structures in Neijin.

Improve Neural Machine Translation by Building Word Vector with Part of Speech

Neural Machine Translation(NMT)based system is an important technology for translation applications.However,there is plenty of rooms for the improvement of NMT.In the process of NMT,traditional word vector cannot distinguish the same words under different parts of speech(POS).Aiming to alleviate this problem,this paper proposed a new word vector training method based on POS feature.It can efficiently improve the quality of translation by adding POS feature to the training process of word vectors.In the experiments,we conducted extensive experiments to evaluate our methods.The experimental result shows that the proposed method is beneficial to improve the quality of translation from English into Chinese.

Shift of parts of speech in translation is one of the important significance of E-C translation.Because of there are great differences between English and Chinese,such as words structure,grammar,phrases,then translators will use shift of parts of speech to make the essays more fluent,accurate and semantic smooth.That means,when translators translate some passages,some words can not be translated completely equality.This thesis will summarize the four most common shift of parts of speech in E-C translation.

A CGA-Based Study on Translation Characteristics of Chairman Speeches in Company Annual Reports

This paper aims to analyze the features of chairman speeches and their translations with the critical genre analysis method.By processing the annual reports in Hang Seng China's Mainland Property Index2017,we found though chairman speeches contain specific move structures and perspicuous communication purposes,industry environment and self-interest contribution has a profound impact on the wording and rhetorical choices of the chairman speeches,and this can be explained as:the interactivity creates an interdiscursive relationship between business genre community and industry practice.For translatorsand translation teachers,this method maybe a good chance to understand the related industry and select adequate translation and teaching strategies for expected results.

融合乌尔都语词性序列预测的汉乌神经机器翻译

面向南亚和东南亚的小语种机器翻译,目前已有不少研究团队开展了深入研究,但作为巴基斯坦官方语言的乌尔都语,由于稀缺的数据资源和与汉语之间的巨大差距,有针对性的汉乌机器翻译方法研究非常稀少。针对这种情况,提出了基于Transformer的融合乌尔都语词性序列的汉乌神经机器翻译模型。首先利用Transformer对目标语言乌尔都语的词性序列进行预测,然后将翻译模型的预测结果和词性序列模型的预测结果相结合进行联合预测,从而实现语言知识到翻译模型的融入。在现有小规模汉乌数据集上的实验表明,所提方法在数据集上的BLEU值相较于基准模型提升了0.13,取得了较为明显的效果。

基于语音信号的跨语种交互翻译机器人语义纠错方法

传统的跨语种交互翻译机器人语义纠错方法通常是单向的,效率较低,导致识别错误率较高。为此,文章提出基于语音信号的跨语种交互翻译机器人语义纠错方法。在基础语音识别的基础上,通过交互标定和特征提取来修正语义错误位置,并设计语音信号翻译机器人的语义纠错模型,采用随时间反向传播(Backpropagation Through Time,BPTT)循环训练核验方式,以确保纠错的准确性。测试结果显示,经过3个阶段测试,选定的5段语音材料的纠错识别率成功控制在10%以下,表明基于语音信号的跨语种交互翻译机器人语义纠错方法高效,具有实际应用价值。

AI语音翻译环境下外语专业口译课堂教育生态环境建构研究

AI语音翻译技术的迅速发展给外语专业口译课堂带来了很大冲击。未来的口译离不开人机之间的生态良性互动,外语专业教师应将AI语音翻译技术应用到口译课堂上,在教育生态学理论指导下,从限制因子的治理、教学内容的“最适度原则”及“和谐生态位的打造”三个方面构建外语专业口译课堂的教育生态环境。

基于智能语音的翻译机器人自动化控制系统设计

为提升自动控制效果,加快翻译速率,设计基于智能语音的翻译机器人自动化控制系统;采集外界智能语音信号,利用A/D转换器得到数字信号,启动语音唤醒模块激活翻译机器人,听写模式识别复杂语音信号,命令模式识别简单语音信号,得到语言文本识别结果,通过深度学习关键词检测方法提取关键词作为翻译机器人的自动化控制指令,通过单片机识别自动化控制指令;实验结果表明,该系统可有效采集外界智能语音信号,在0.6 s至2 s之间时,该外界智能语音信号的振幅较小;系统运行时间最短为5.6 s,响应速度在11 m/s左右,控制误差最小为5.1%,BLEU值最高达到了42.75,控制准确率达到95.7%,提取智能语音信号的关键词,完成翻译机器人自动化控制。

论«红楼梦»修辞格英译的语言制约

通过比较、评析《红楼梦》霍译文和杨戴译文关于析字、谐音、藏词、委婉等九种修辞格的英译文和翻译方法,说明霍译文、杨戴译文都侧重于语义转换,且以直译、意译法,以及直译、意译混合法为主。研究结果一方面掲示了语言因素是制约二者翻译方法的主要因素;另一方面表明,《红楼梦》的英译研究需要文化、语言学等多元化视角,以阐释文学翻译的多种现象。
