Educational Probation Under the Tutorial System and the Construction of English Student Teachers’ Knowledge

This paper attempts to explore effective ways of educational probation to promote the professional development of English student teachers. An empirical study is carried out to compare the teachers’ knowledge level of 91 normal students under three different educational probation modes: tutorial system, non-tutorial system, and routine system. Quantitative analysis shows that except English knowledge, the tutorial system is more conducive to promoting normal students’ mastery of educational theory knowledge, general curriculum knowledge, English curriculum knowledge, English teaching knowledge, and students’ knowledge, and the development of these kinds of knowledge is relatively balanced. This study is helpful for teacher educators to provide guidance and help for pre-service English teachers to maximize the benefits of educational probation.

Problem Analysis and Effective Strategies of Ecological Civilization Education for Undergraduates in the New Age

The ecological civilization in the new age is one important aspect for undergraduates.We must enhance the concept of their civilization and improve the quality of civilization.Carrying out ecological civilization education in colleges and universities has a practical significance for enriching the contents of ideological and political education to realize their all-round development.Nowadays,some undergraduates lack awareness of ecological civilization and ignore its importance.For this reason,undergraduates need to pay attention to ecological civilization and improve their own ecological civilization literacy to promote the all-round development in qualities in the new age.This paper mainly analyzes the current problems in undergraduates’ecological civilization education and explores effective strategies to solve the current problems in undergraduates’ecological civilization education.The strategies include integrating ecological civilization resources,innovating methods of ecological civilization,strengthening ecological educator team construction,embodying ecological culture in campus construction and creating the atmosphere,emphasizing innovative practices for ecological civilization,strengthening publicity of social-ecological civilization,and attaching importance to family education of ecological civilization.

The Effect of Metacognitive Strategies Instruction on Chinese Non-Major Undergraduates' Self-efficacy and Writing Performance

Metacognition has drawn wider research attention in the past decades in the field of teaching English as a foreign language. In this study, questionnaires surveying English learners' use of metacognitive writing strategies and their writing efficacy were respectively administered. Metacognitive writing strategy intervention was conducted The findings are further discussed with regard to the participants' specific learning context, and pedagogical implications derived from the research highlight the importance of integrating metacognitive writing strategy instruction into regular classroom teaching.

Development of a petroleum knowledge tutorial system for university and corporate training

The increasingly rapid development of the disciplines of petroleum engineering and petroleum geology has led to new methodologies and interpretation techniques forming new knowledge that should be offered quickly and efficiently to modern engineers and geologists. This need is equally important for students as well as for young professionals. Access and training to all scientific information is necessary to ensure success in their future careers. Today, e-learning has become a common medium for the management and distribution of on-line educational content. Learning Management Systems （LMSs） were not only developed to handle a large variety of multimedia content that provides an organized knowledge repository used to accelerate access to information and skill acquisition; but, LMSs can also keep detailed statistics on the use of the available material offering a powerful training and educational tool. In this document, the Petroleum Knowledge Tutorial System, an LMS platform offering a variety of online educational and training options to petroleum engineers and geologists, is presented. It was created using Moodle, open- source software that can be used to create on-line courses. The platform covers fundamental educational concepts in a structured way. It follows an optimized ＂workflow＂ that can be applied not only to solve a specific exercise but also any similar problem encountered over the course of one＇s career. The platform was designed to offer a repository of learning material in various forms and to favor user-platform interactions. It can be used for training and evaluation purposes through exercises and problem solving that the user can perform online by using browsing software along with internet access. Special tools were created and implemented on the platform to assist the user in completing a variety of tasks including performing exercises involving calculations with given data and plots of points or lines on graphs without leaving the learning environment. Furthermore, videos with detailed explanations follow each learning module and provide the full solution to every exercise. The LMS automatically keeps a large statistical database including the users＇ access to activities on the platform that can be exported and further processed to improve the platform functionality and evaluate the users＇ performance.

Innovation and Practice of the Cultivation Mode of Application-Oriented Undergraduate Talents in Agricultural and Forestry Colleges under the Guidance of the Spirit of the Great Northern Wilderness

Heilongjiang reclamation area has made great progress since its development and construction, among which the agricultural and forestry colleges in China have played a key role in the input of talents for the production of reclamation area, and the spirit of the Great Wilderness has important strategic significance for the cultivation of agricultural and forestry talents. Taking Heilongjiang Bayi Agricultural University as an example, this paper analyzes the ways of the Great Northern Wilderness Spirit for cultivating application-oriented undergraduate talents in agricultural and forestry colleges, improving the curriculum system of undergraduate talents through innovation, strengthening the cultivation of students’ innovative ability, leading students’ scientific research and academic level, and enhancing students’ practical ability. To innovate the cultivation mode of application-oriented undergraduate talents in agricultural and forestry colleges under the guidance of the spirit of the Great Northern Wilderness, and to provide a reference mode for the cultivation of undergraduate talents in agricultural and forestry colleges in China.

Research on the Employment View of Acupuncture and Tuina Undergraduates in Minority Border Areas from Students’ Perspective

With the popularization of higher education in China,the employment situation of college students is more complex and severe.This paper adopts the questionnaire method to explore the employment view of acupuncture and tuina undergraduates of Yunnan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.The employment concept of acupuncture and tuina undergraduates in the minority border areas has changed greatly.After graduation,97.95%of students choose to work in fields related to medicine and acupuncture,prefer positions close to home,and are attracted to high-salary companies,among other factors.Therefore,enhancing the competitive advantages of medical students by guiding their career planning,providing employment selection advice,fostering innovation and entrepreneurship,improving basic skills,and offering graduate entrance examination guidance is crucial for broadening their employment opportunities.

Evaluation of the Effect of Assessment Method Reform in “Nursing Research” Course

Objective:This paper aims to evaluate the implementation effect of the diversified course assessment method reform.Methods:A diversified assessment method was implemented for 196 undergraduate nursing students.Students’mastery of key knowledge in“Nursing Research”was assessed through group reports on topic selection and literature retrieval,as well as the proposition level of the final examination.Results:81.6%of the students agreed with the course assessment method,and 97.9%believed studying“Nursing Research”would be helpful for future scientific research applications.Conclusion:Diversified assessment methods can help improve undergraduate nursing students’scientific research skills and comprehensive quality.

Exploration and Practice of the Digital Transformation and Upgrading Paths for Civil Engineering Majors

This article examines the pathway to digital transformation and upgrading in undergraduate institutions,using the civil engineering program at Chongqing Three Gorges University as a case study,focusing on six key areas:developing a high-quality digital talent training program for civil engineering;assembling diverse resources to create a digital,multi-scenario open learning environment that encompasses teaching,research,and practical training for civil engineering undergraduates;piloting innovative digital teaching models for civil engineering undergraduates;crafting a new model for digital resource provision,utilizing self-developed and specialized resources;devising assessment methods and ongoing improvement strategies based on the achievement of students’digital competencies;and devising a new,three-dimensional,multi-modal teaching evaluation system through intelligent data capture and analysis.

Implementation Status and Strategy of Undergraduate Tutorial System in the Context of Academy System

The cooperative education mode of academy system and undergraduate tutorial system is an important reform mode for cultivating top-notch innovative talents in colleges and universities.However,there is still room for improvement in the operation of tutorial system.For example,the lack of synergy in the academy system leads to problems such as insufficient understanding between teachers and students and limited guidance effect.Therefore,this study analyzes the implementation status of tutorial system,and puts forward the corresponding strategies for the existing problems.

The Impact of Street Interviews on Chinese EFL Undergraduates’Intercultural Communicative Competence

The study adopts Byram’s Intercultural Communicative Competence(ICC)model as the theoretical framework,and structured interviews were conducted to explore the impact of street interviews on the participants’ICC.Analysis results revealed street interviews help students acquire knowledge in intercultural attitudes,intercultural knowledge,skills of discovery and interaction,and critical cultural awareness,aligning with the four components of Byram’s ICC model.Meanwhile,they have positive perceptions of street interviews.Therefore,street interviews have a positive effect on the development of participants’ICC.

The Influence of Social Media on College Choice among Undergraduates Majoring in Big Data Management and Application in China:Taking Guilin University of Electronic Technology as an Example

This study aims to investigate the influence of social media on college choice among undergraduates majoring in Big Data Management and Application in China.The study attempts to reveal how information on social media platforms such as Weibo,WeChat,and Zhihu influences the cognition and choice process of prospective students.By employing an online quantitative survey questionnaire,data were collected from the 2022 and 2023 classes of new students majoring in Big Data Management and Application at Guilin University of Electronic Technology.The aim was to evaluate the role of social media in their college choice process and understand the features and information that most attract prospective students.Social media has become a key factor influencing the college choice decision-making of undergraduates majoring in Big Data Management and Application in China.Students tend to obtain school information through social media platforms and use this information as an important reference in their decision-making process.Higher education institutions should strengthen their social media information dissemination,providing accurate,timely,and attractive information.It is also necessary to ensure effective management of social media platforms,maintain a positive reputation for the school on social media,and increase the interest and trust of prospective students.Simultaneously,educational decision-makers should consider incorporating social media analysis into their recruitment strategies to better attract new student enrollment.This study provides a new perspective for understanding higher education choice behavior in the digital age,particularly by revealing the importance of social media in the educational decision-making process.This has important practical and theoretical implications for higher education institutions,policymakers,and social media platform operators.

Schema theory and its application in teaching listening for non-English major undergraduates

Both empirical research findings and teaching experiences show that most non-English major undergraduates who are poorly aware of the cognitive psychological aspect of listening usually pay far greater attention to their improvement of pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, etc. only in listening class. That might be part of the reason, and the author will discuss the application of information-processing model theory, schema theory in particular from the angle of cognitive psychology in listening comprehension course, hoping to remove barriers in the listening procedure to achieve better progress for students in listening ability.

Research on the evaluation index system of development work of the transformation of the secondary school of newly-built local undergraduate colleges and universities in our country

The newly-built local undergraduate colleges and universities positively respond to the call of national policy and successively joined the rank of transition to the application of technology-based development of university, in order to seek their own development path. Whether the transformation development work of secondary college can succeed or not directly decide whether the transformation work of the whole college can carry on smoothly or not. This essay, by establishing eighteen secondary indicators, investigates seven aspects of the newly-built local undergraduate colleges and universities secondary college transformation work, such as the general idea, specialty construction, talents training mode, teaching staff construction, integration of production with teaching, social services and quality assurance, hoping that it can play a reference to the work of other colleges and universities.

Research on the Development of Rural Tourism Market Based on Undergraduates

Rural tourism,as an important component of tourism and leisure,has witnessed a rapid growth in recent years and gradually become an outstanding point in tourism industry.Questionnaire survey was carried out among undergraduates in the Nanjing Agricultural University by applying multi-stage random sampling,on the basis of which undergraduates' perception of travelling,tourism inclination,motivation and ways of travelling were analyzed.Characteristics of undergraduate tourism market were summarized,and corresponding suggestions were given to broaden the rural tourism market of undergraduates.

Navigating the Storm of Deteriorating Patients: Seven Scaffolds for Simulation Design

Recent trends in simulation use have necessitated a more considered approach in the use of this teaching/learning tool. The aim of this research is to discover ways to improve simulation as a teaching/learning platform. Action research was used to answer the question, “How can I improve pedagogical practices with undergraduate nurses in simulation?” This study was implemented at a University in Auckland, New Zealand between November 2012 and March 2014. A purposive sample was sought from second and third-year nursing students (n = 161) enrolled in the three-year undergraduate bachelor of nursing program. Methods included focus groups, questionnaires, debriefing sessions, pre- and post-tests, and Lasater clinical judgment rubric analysis. Seven instructional scaffolds emerged which maximized student learning and retention. These scaffolds: 1) helped move students from known into unknown knowledge;2) provided situated coaching;3) modeled expected performance;4) gave opportunity for improvement;5) reduced confusion;6) taught effective communication;and 7) promoted new learning through debriefing. These strategies resulted in a simulation experience which improved clinical reasoning in undergraduate nursing students.
