[Cyclopentadien-Fe-naphthalene]BF4(CFN) and [cyclopentadien-Fe-anisole]BF4(CFA) as thermal cationic initiators for the curing of epoxide E44 and GGE were investigated. CFN brought out the curing of E44 at 89.1℃ and that of GGE at 148.7℃. However, CFA had much less thermal initiating activity under 300℃. Under UV radiation for short time, the thermal initiating activities of CFN and CFA were enhanced obviously. It was observed that the initiating onset temperature decreased and the evolved heat of the curing increased. Both CFN and CFA can carry out the polymerization of E44 and GGE near 85℃ and 112℃ by UV radiation. 展开更多

A novel latent thermal initiator, ferricenium tetrafluoroborate salt (FcBF4), for cationic polymerization of epoxides is reported. The activities of FcBF4 for different epoxides, including bisphenol-A-type epoxy oligomer E44, cycloaliphatic epoxy ERL4221, and glycidylether epoxy GGE, were evaluated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The results showed a moderate thermal initiation activity for E44 and GGE at 78℃ and 108℃ respectively. When adding GGE to E44, the reaction was enhanced. The temperature of thermal degradation of the cured specimens for the system of E44/FcBF4, E44+10%GGE/FcBF4 and E44+10%ERL4221/FcBF4 is higher than 350℃. 展开更多

In order to study the relationship between charge size and thermal initiation critical temperature of explosive in defined conditions,cook-off test about JH explosive was carried out at a heating rate of 1 ℃/min using self-designed cook-off experiment setup based on thermostatic control technology.Numerical simulation was conducted to study the effects of different charge sizes on thermal initiation critical temperature of explosives with FLUENT software.Experiment results show that there is a thermal initiation critical temperature in cook-off bomb.Simulation results show that when the ratio of the length to diameter of explosives grains is a fixed value,the thermal initiation critical temperature of explosives decreases with the increase of the diameter of explosives grains.When the grains diameter of explosives increase up to a certain value,the influence of charge size on thermal initiation critical temperature tends to be weakened.Charge size has no influence on the ignition point of explosives.The ignition point is always in the center of the grain. 展开更多
