The microstructure, phase composition, microhardness and tribological properties of the coatings were investigated. The XRD results of the coatings reinforced by TiO2 (AT-3) revealed the presence of α-Al2O3 phase as matrix and new metastable phases of α-Al2O3 and α-Al2O3. However, the coatings reinforced by ZrO2 (AZ-25) consist of α-Al2O3 as matrix, q-ZrO2 and m-ZrO2. In most studied conditions, the AT-3 coating displays a better tribological performance, i.e., lower coefficient of frictions and wear rates, than the AZ-25 coating. It was also found that the microhardness of the coatings was decreased with the reinforcement of ZrO2 and increased with TiO2.展开更多

The HVOF gun in the present analysis is an axisymmetric convergent-divergent nozzle with the design Mach number of 2.0 followed by a straight passage called barrel. In the present analysis it is assumed that the influence of the particles injected in the gas flow is neglected, and the interaction between the particles is also neglected. The gas flow in the gun is assumed to be quasi-one-dimensional adiabatic flow. The velocity, temperature and density of gas in the jet discharged from the barrel exit are predicted by solving Navier-Stokes equations numerically. The particle equation of motion is numerically integrated using three-step Runge-Kutta method. The drag coefficient of the particle is calculated by linear interpolation of the experimental data obtained in the past. Particle mean temperature is calculated by using Ranz and Marchalls' correlation for spherical particles. From the present analysis, the distributions of velocity and temperature of the coating particles flying inside and outside the HVOF gun are predicted.展开更多

To prevent dusts such as zinc ash from pressing into the strip surface, we used a composite thermal spray surface treatment technique to treat rolls. Th...A new technique is developed to measure the longitudinal thermal expansion coefficient of C/C composite material at high temperature. The measuring principle and components of the apparatus are described in detail. The calculation method is derived from the temperature dependence of the thermal expansion coefficient. The apparatus mainly consists of a high temperature environmental chamber, a power circuit of heating, two high-speed pyrometers, and a laser scanning system. A long solid specimen is resistively heated to a steady high-temperature state by a steady electrical current. The temperature profile of the specimen surface is not uniform because of the thermal conduction and radiation. The temperature profile and the total expansion are measured with a high-speed scanning pyrometer and a laser slit scanning measuring system, respectively. The thermal expansion coefficient in a wide temperature range (1000 - 3800 K) of the specimen can therefore be obtained. The perfect consistency between the present and previous results justifies the validity of this technique.展开更多

The corresponding porous abradable seal coatings(named as TAC-1 and TAC-2, respectively) were deposited using vacuum plasma spray(VPS) technology, and their corrosion behavior was studied via salt spray corrosion and electrochemical tests. Phase compositions and microstructures of these coatings before and after corrosion were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM) facilitated with energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer(EDS). The results showed that spontaneous passivation of TAC-1 and TAC-2 granted the coatings excellent corrosion resistance than that of commercial Al/BN coating. Additionally, TAC-2 exhibited higher corrosion potential(Ecorr) and breakdown potential(Ebp) but a lower corrosion current density(icorr) than TAC-1. A small quantity of the corrosion product(Al(OH)3and Al O) could be detected on the surface of TAC-1, while no corrosion product appeared in TAC-2. The non-uniform elements distribution in the metal matrix of TAC-1 resulted in localized corrosion and relatively poor corrosion resistance compared to TAC-2.展开更多

In most studied conditions, the AT-3 coating displays a better tribological performance, i.e., lower coefficient of frictions and wear rates, than the AZ-25 coating. It was also found that the microhardness of the coatings was decreased with the reinforcement of ZrO2 and increased with TiO2.

文摘Modern aero and stationary gas turbine engines have been designed with much higher compressor-pressure ratios and thrust-weight ratios than earlier models, and these ratios are strongly influenced by the hot-running clearances between the rotating and stationary components. The main benefit of reduction in the clearances is efficiency gains, resulting in lowered fuel consumption and polluting gas emissions, with ecological and economic advantages. However,at these undersized clearances, some rubbing interactions are unavoidable, which can be accommodated by applying Abradable Sealing Coatings(ASCs)on the stationary inner surface. This paper reviews the commercially available abradable materials for thermal spraying at various application positions and temperatures.Emphasis is placed on the abradability and wear mechanisms involved. In addition, considering the tendency of SiC/SiC ceramic matrix composites replacing superalloys as hot section components, the future prospect of ceramic abradables based on Environmental Barrier Coatings(EBCs)in turbine stages is summarized and a new concept of"self-degradable ceramics"based on the corrosive steam environment is proposed for the purpose of high-temperature fillerfree abradables.

文摘The powders of Mo2FeB2 cermet were prepared with Mo powders, Fe-B alloy powders and Fe powders as raw materials. Mo2FeB2 cermet coatings were prepared on Q235 steel by reactive thermal spraying (RTS) method and heated at 1 000 ℃ in vacuum oven of 1 kPa for 5 h. The properties of coatings were investigated. The results indicate that Fe2B appears after milling for 15 h in the powder at room temperature, a part of ternary borides (Mo2FeB2) are generated in powder sintered at 900 ℃. The coatings are composed of the major phases Mo2FeB2 and a-Fe, a little of Fe203, FeO and some pores. The bonding strength between the substrate and the ceramic coating is 32.73 MPa, the thermal-shock times is about 43 and the wear resistance is enhanced by approximately 5.28 times compared with that of the substrate, respectively. The comprehensive properties of Mo2FeB2 cermet coatings can be imoroved further after vacuum heat-treatment at 1 000 ℃ for 5 h.
文摘Oxidation behaviors of Ni(Cr)-TiB2 coating deposited by HVOF technique were studied at 800,900 and 1 000℃in air. The microstructures of as-sprayed and oxidized coatings were characterized by X-ray diffractometry(XRD)and scanning electron microscopy(SEM).After oxidation at 800℃,a thin and adherent oxide layer was formed on the surface of the coating. With increasing exposure temperature, the thickness of the oxide layer increased;and at 1 000℃the oxide layer separated from the coating.Investigation of the kinetics of oxidation by using the thermogravimetric analysis(TGA)technique shows a parabolic oxidation rate.
文摘With the rapid development of the automobile industry, the use of galvannealed and galvanized steel sheets in automobiles is on the rise. These sheets must meet very high surface quality requirements. The surface treatment of line rolls is known to have a great impact on strip quality. To prevent dusts such as zinc ash from pressing into the strip surface, we used a composite thermal spray surface treatment technique to treat rolls. The successfully developed tungsten carbide (WC) + Ni-P composite plating technology improved the quality of the tungsten carbide thermally sprayed WC roll surface. This technique is also helpful to control defects such as adhered foreign materials in hot-dip galvanized automobile outer panel surfaces.

文摘A new technique is developed to measure the longitudinal thermal expansion coefficient of C/C composite material at high temperature. The perfect consistency between the present and previous results justifies the validity of this technique.

文摘Hypereutectic Al-Si-Cu coatings were prepared by supersonic atmospheric plasma spraying to enhance the surface performance of lightweight alloys. To find out optimum process conditions and achieve desirable coatings, this work focuses on the influence of three important parameters(in-flight particle temperature, impact velocity, and substrate temperature)on the collected splats morphology coatings microstructure and microhardness. Results show that appropriate combinations of temperature and velocity of in-flight particles cannot only completely melt hypereutectic Al-Si-Cu particles especially the primary Si phase, but also provide the particles with sufficient kinetic energy. Thus, the optimized coating consists of 98.6%of fully-melted region with nanosized coupled eutectic and 0.9%of porosity.Increasing the substrate deposition temperature promotes the transition from inhomogeneous banded microstructure to homogeneous equiaxed microstructure with a lower porosity level. The observations are further interpreted by a newly developed phase-change heat transfer model on quantitatively revealing the solidification and remelting behaviors of several splats deposited on substrate Besides, phase evolutions including the formation of supersaturatedα-Al matrix solid solution, growth of Si and Al_(2)Cu phases at different process conditions are elaborated. An ideal microstructure(low fractions of unmelted/partially-melted regions and defects)together with solid solution, grain refinement and second phase strengthening effects contributes to the enhanced microhardness of coating. This integrated study not only provides a framework for optimizing Al-Si based coatings via thermal spraying but also gives valuable insights into the formation mechanisms of this class of coating materials.

文摘In this study,a few Fe-based amorphous matrix composite coatings reinforced with various portions(4,8 and16 vol.%) of 31 6L stainless steel powders have been successfully produced through high velocity oxy-fuel(HVOF) spraying. The microstructure of the composite coatings was systematically characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).The main structure of composite coatings remained amorphous while 31 6L stainless steel splats were distributed homogeneously in the amorphous matrix and well connected with surrounding amorphous phase.Bonding strength of coatings to the substrate was determined by 'pull-off' tensile tests. The results revealed that the31 6L stainless steel phase effectively improved the bonding strength of amorphous coatings, which is mainly contributed by the strong metallurgical bonding between stainless steel and amorphous splats. The addition of31 6L stainless steel also enhanced the ductility and fracture resistance of the coatings due to the ductile stainless steel phases, which can arrest crack propagation and increase energy dissipation.

文摘Ti–Al mixed powder(Ti:Al = 3:1 in atomic ratio) and Ti3 Al intermetallic alloy powder mechanically clad hexagonal BN to fabricate Ti Al/BN and Ti3Al/BN composite powders. The non-uniform elements distribution in the metal matrix of TAC-1 resulted in localized corrosion and relatively poor corrosion resistance compared to TAC-2.
