Young modulus,electric-field-induced displacement and the density of the PZT film are measured respectively.Bimorph- type bending actuators are fabricated using these films. The model, which is used toanalyze the driving ability of bimorph-type bending actuators by hydrothermal method, is set up. Itcan be seen that the driving ability of bimorph-type bending actuators can be greatly improved byoptimizing the thickness of PZT thin film and substrate from the theoretical analysis results. Themeasured values are expected to agree with the theoretical values calculated by the above model.展开更多

The perovskite-type oxide thin-films were tried to apply an acetylene gas sensor based on AC impedance spectroscopy. Among the oxides tested, SmFeO3 thin-film sensor showed good sensor responses in which the AC impedance at 20 kHz was depending on acetylene gas concentration between 2 ppm and 80 ppm at 400℃.展开更多

The most general bending-stretching coupling and the effect of eccentricity of stiffeners are considered. The equilibrium equations, boundary conditions and the equation of compatibility are derived. The new equations of the mixed-type of stiffened laminated composite conical shells are obtained in terms of the transverse deflection and stress function. The simplified equations are also given for some commonly encountered cases.展开更多

One of the challenges faced by this technology is to design reasonable flow patterns, which strongly affect the surface and inner properties of the final slab in the mold. With the fixed scales and complex geometrical structures of nozzle and funnel type mold, a series of numerical simulations are made to analyze the flow patterns in melt steel using finite volume method based on structured body fitted coordinate grids. The CFD (computational fluid dynamics) package is validated first using one typical case described in previously published studies, and then it is developed to study the effect of operational parameters on fluid flow in thin slab caster. Two operational parameters, casting speed and SEN (submerged entry nozzle) depth, are mainly considered for numerical analysis. On the basis of present simulations, the reasonable SEN submergence depths corresponding to different casting speeds are suggested according to fluid flow characteristics like, flow jet impingement on the narrow side of the mold, flow speed of the melt steel beneath the meniscus and the recirculation region. This is the first stage of study on the numerical analysis of the whole thin slab casting process with electromagnetic brake.展开更多

The properties of insulator and the growth characteristic of C60 film were carefully investigated. By choosing different source/drain electrodes, a device with good performance can be obtained. The highest electron field effect mobility about 1.15 cm2/(V. s) could reach when Barium was introduced as electrodes. Moreover, the C60 transistor shows a negligible 'hysteresis effect' contributed to the hydroxyl-free of insulator. The result suggests that polymer dielectrics are promising in applications among n-type organic transistors.展开更多

In this study, several spatio-temporal point process models are applied to investigate the clustering characteristics of the well-known Tangshan sequence based on classical empirical laws and a few assumptions. The relative fit of competing models is compared by Akalke Information Criterion. The spatial clustering pattern is well characterized by the model which gives the best fit to the data. A simulated aftershock sequence is generated by thinning algorithm and compared with the real seismicity.展开更多

The convolution-type functionals for the bending of viscoelastic thin and thick plates with damage are presented, and the corresponding generalized variational principles are given. From these generalized principles, all the basic equations of the displacement and damage variables and initial and boundary conditions can be deduced. As an example, we compare the difference between the dynamical properties of plates with and without damage and consider the effect of damage on the dynamical properties of plates.展开更多
