Existing compensating methods are mainly focusing on 3-aixs machining, which sometimes only take one given point as the compensative point at each given cutter location. This paper presents a redesigned surface based machining strategy for peripheral milling of thin-walled parts. Based on an improved cutting force/heat model and finite element method(FEM) simulation environment, a deflection error prediction model, which takes sequence of cutter contact lines as compensation targets, is established. And an iterative algorithm is presented to determine feasible cutter axis positions. The final redesigned surface is subsequently generated by skinning all discrete cutter axis vectors after compensating by using the proposed algorithm. The proposed machining strategy incorporates the thermo-mechanical coupled effect in deflection prediction, and is also validated with flank milling experiment by using five-axis machine tool. At the same time, the deformation error is detected by using three-coordinate measuring machine. Error prediction values and experimental results indicate that they have a good consistency and the proposed approach is able to significantly reduce the dimension error under the same machining conditions compared with conventional methods. Finite element method is used to sinmlate the temperature field coupling flow field in the welding of thin-wall part. It is found that because of the obvious effect of heat accumution in cross-section, where the distribution of temperature field area presents trapezoidal inverted approximately in the molten pool and the non-molten pool area presents level. The surface tension, the electromagnetic force and buoyancy are considered for analyzing the effects on the fluid flow of welding-pool. It can be obtained that the surface tension is the main driving force in the welding pool, which is far greater than electromagnetic force and buoyancy.展开更多

Here,a 3D finite element model is developed for the deep drawing process of a thin-walled hemispheric surface part. Then the influences of material parameters including hardening exponent n,yield stress σs and elastic modulus E on the process are investigated by simulation. The results show that the effects of n and σs on punch force, thickness variation and equivalent strain are more notable. The maximum equivalent plastic strain occurs outside the die corner. However, when the value of n is 0.03 or σs is smaller than 120 MPa,higher equivalent plastic strain occurs at ball top.展开更多

文摘The formed characteristics of thin-wall part is studied when it is in the process of MPAW. It can be obtained that the surface tension is the main driving force in the welding pool, which is far greater than electromagnetic force and buoyancy.

文摘For the problems of machining distortion and the low accepted product during milling process of aluminum alloy thin-walled part, this paper starts from the analysis of initial stress state in material preparation process, the change process of residual stress within aluminum alloy pre-stretching plate is researched, and the distribution law of residual stress is indirectly obtained by delamination measurement methods,so the effect of internal residual stress on machining distortion is considered before finite element simulation. Considering the coupling effects of residual stress, dynamic milling force and clamping force on machining distortion,a threedimensional dynamic finite element simulation model is established, and the whole cutting process is simulated from the blank material to finished product,a novel prediction method is proposed, which can availably predict the machining distortion accurately. The machining distortion state of the thin-walled part is achieved at different processing steps, the machining distortion of the thin-walled part is detected with three coordinate measuring machine tools, show that the simulation results are in good agreement with experimental data.

文摘The application of continuous natural fibers as reinforcement in composite thin-walled structures offers a feasible approach to achieve light weight and high strength while remaining environmentally friendly. In addition, additive manufacturing technology provides a favorable process foundation for its realization. In this study, the printability and energy absorption properties of 3D printed continuous fiber reinforced thin-walled structures with different configurations were investigated. The results suggested that a low printing speed and a proper layer thickness would mitigate the printing defects within the structures. The printing geometry accuracy of the structures could be further improved by rounding the sharp corners with appropriate radii. This study successfully fabricated structures with vari-ous configurations characterized by high geometric accuracy through printing parameters optimization and path smoothing. Moreover, the compressive property and energy absorption characteristics of the structures under quasi-static axial compression were evaluated and compared. It was found that all studied thin-walled structures exhibited progressive folding deformation patterns during compression. In particular, energy absorption process was achieved through the combined damage modes of plastic deformation, fiber pullout and delamination.Furthermore, the com-parison results showed that the hexagonal structure exhibited the best energy absorption performance. The study revealed the structure-mechanical property relationship of 3D printed continuous fiber reinforced composite thin-walled structures through the analysis of multiscale failure characteristics and load response, which is valuable for broadening their applications.

文摘To improve the milling surface quality of the Al-Li alloy thin-wall workpieces and reduce the cutting energy consumption.Experimental research on the milling processing of AA2195 Al-Li alloy thin-wall workpieces based on Response Surface Methodology was carried out.The single factor and interaction of milling parameters on surface roughness and specific cutting energy were analyzed, and the multi-objective optimization model was constructed. The Multiobjective Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm introducing the Chaos Local Search algorithm and the adaptive inertial weight was applied to determine the optimal combination of milling parameters. It was observed that surface roughness was mainly influenced by feed per tooth, and specific cutting energy was negatively correlated with feed per tooth, radial cutting depth and axial cutting depth, while cutting speed has a non-significant influence on specific cutting energy. The optimal combination of milling parameters with different priorities was obtained. The experimental results showed that the maximum relative error of measured and predicted values was 8.05%,and the model had high reliability, which ensured the low surface roughness and cutting energy consumption. It was of great guiding significance for the success of Al-Li alloy thin-wall milling with a high precision and energy efficiency.

文摘In machining processes, chatter vibrations are always regarded as one of the major limitations for production quality and efficiency.Accurate and timely monitoring of chatter is helpful to maintain stable machining operations. At present, most chatter monitoring methods are based on the energy level at specified chatter frequencies or frequency bands. However, the spectral features of chatter could change during machining operations due to complexity and time-varying dynamics of the physical machining process. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the time-varying chatter features in turning of thin-walled tubular workpieces from the perspective of entropy. The airborne acoustics was selected as the source of information for machining condition monitoring.First, corresponding to the distinguishing surface topographies relevant to machining conditions, the features of the sound signal emitted during turning of the thin-walled cylindrical workpieces were extracted using the spectral analysis and wavelet packet transform, respectively. It was shown that the dominant vibration frequency as well as the energy distribution could shift with the transition of the machining status. After that, two relative entropy indicators based on the spectrum and the wavelet packet energy were constructed to identify chattering events in turning of the thin-walled tubes. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed indicators could accurately reflect the transition of machining conditions with high sensitivity and robustness in comparison with the traditional FFT-based methods. The achievement of this study lays the foundations of the online chatter monitoring and control technique for turning of the thin-walled tubular workpieces.

文摘During deep drawing process, the material parameters of blank have a significant effect on the quality of the drawn part and the determination of process parameters. However, when the value of n is 0.03 or σs is smaller than 120 MPa,higher equivalent plastic strain occurs at ball top.

文摘A new type of semi-rigid thin-walled steel-concrete composite beam-to-column joint has been proposed in this paper.Five semi-rigid composite beam-to-column joint specimens subjected to hogging moments under monotonic loading were tested to study the static behavior of this new type of joint. The main variable parameters for the five joint specimens were the longitudinal reinforcement ratio and the joint type. The experimental results designated that the magnitude of extension of the longitudinal reinforcement is the most important factor that influenced the moment-rotation characteristic of the new type of joint. The concrete slabs could resist 3.8%-19.1% of the total shear load applied to the cross-sections near the beam-to-column connection. The edge stiffened elements, such as the flange of the lipped I-section thin-walled steel beam, were capable of having considerable inelastic deformation capacity although they had comparatively large width-to-thickness ratios. The shear failure of the concrete cantilever edge strip must be taken into account in practical design because it has significant influence on the anchorage of the longitudinal reinforcement in the new type of external joints.
文摘A novel forming method of nickel based super-alloy thin-walled part with variable diameter sections was proposed by using inner and outer pressure with the visco-elasto-plastic pressure-carrying medium at room temperature, and the principle of the method was provided.Experiments and FE simulations were carried out to analyze the deformation characteristics for the part with larger variable diameter ratio(35%).The results show that visco-elasto-plastic pressure-carrying medium can meet the requirements of the room-temperature deformation condition for nickel based super-alloy sheet. The inner and outer pressure forming with the visco-elasto-plastic pressure-carrying medium can meet the requirements of dimensional accuracy for the thin-walled part with variable diameter sections. The thinning of wall-thickness is less than 4%.This method provides a new approach for near-net shape forming of nickel based super-alloy thin-walled parts with variable diameter sections.
