During the process of setup&disassembly and usage period,the sleeve has been dramatically damaged,which results in production accidents and decreases its service life,thus heavily influencing steel production. Aimed at such puzzles,under specific loadcase,mechanical properties of bearing sleeve,as well as estimation of contact status and adhesive force of sleeve by interference fit,are quantitatively simulated by finite element method,which establishes an mechanical foundation for improving the load capacity of bearing and decreasing its wear and adhesion damages. By using Fluent software to analyze and contrast the film characteristics of rectangular and I-shaped oil chamber of hydrostatic bearing seal guide sleeve, the relationship between piston rod moving speed, eccentricity, oil film carrying capacity, friction force and leakage volume, as well as the relationship between oil feed flow and oil film bearing capacity, friction force, inlet pressure and leakage volume were analyzed. CPT consists of pushing at a constant rate an electronic penetrometer into penetrable soils and recording cone bearing (q<sub>c</sub>), sleeve friction (f<sub>c</sub>) and dynamic pore pressure (u) with depth. The measured q<sub>c</sub>, f<sub>s</sub> and u values are utilized to estimate soil type and associated soil properties. A popular method to estimate soil type from CPT measurements is the Soil Behavior Type (SBT) chart. The SBT plots cone resistance vs friction ratio, R<sub>f</sub> [where: R<sub>f</sub> = (f<sub>s</sub>/q<sub>c</sub>)100%]. There are distortions in the CPT measurements which can result in erroneous SBT plots. Cone bearing measurements at a specific depth are blurred or averaged due to q<sub>c</sub> values being strongly influenced by soils within 10 to 30 cone diameters from the cone tip. The q<sub>c</sub>HMM algorithm was developed to address the q<sub>c</sub> blurring/averaging limitation. This paper describes the distortions which occur when obtaining sleeve friction measurements which can in association with q<sub>c</sub> blurring result in significant errors in the calculated R<sub>f</sub> values. This paper outlines a novel and highly effective algorithm for obtaining accurate sleeve friction and friction ratio estimates. The f<sub>c</sub> optimal filter estimation technique is referred to as the OSFE-IFM algorithm. The mathematical details of the OSFE-IFM algorithm are outlined in this paper along with the results from a challenging test bed simulation. The test bed simulation demonstrates that the OSFE-IFM algorithm derives accurate estimates of sleeve friction from measured values. Optimal estimates of cone bearing and sleeve friction result in accurate R<sub>f</sub> values and subsequent accurate estimates of soil behavior type.展开更多

In order to study the bearing performance of a new type of prefabricated subway station structure(PSSS),firstly,a three-dimensional finite element model of the PSSS was established to study the nonlinear mechanics and...In order to study the bearing performance of a new type of prefabricated subway station structure(PSSS),firstly,a three-dimensional finite element model of the PSSS was established to study the nonlinear mechanics and deformation performance.Secondly,the bearing mechanism of a PSSS was investigated in detail.Finally,the development law of damages to a thin-walled prefabricated component and the failure evolution mechanism of a PSSS were discussed.The results showed that this new type of the PSSS had good bearing capacity.The top arch structure was a three-hinged arch bearing system,and the enclosure structure and the substructure were respectively used as the horizontal and vertical support systems of the three-hinged arch structure to ensure the integrity and stability of the overall structure.Moreover,the tongue-and-groove joints could effectively transmit the internal force between the components and keep the components deformed in harmony.The rigidity degradation of the PSSS caused by the accumulation of damages to the spandrel,hance,arch foot,and enclosure structure was the main reason of its loss of bearing capacity.The existing thin-walled components design had significant advantages in weight reduction,concrete temperature control,components hoisting,transportation and assembly construction,which achieved a good balance between safety,usability and economy.展开更多

Developing a predictive model of bearing capacity for this kind of foundation is of interest due to the fact that ...Thin-walled spread foundations are used in coastal projects where the soil strength is relatively low. Developing a predictive model of bearing capacity for this kind of foundation is of interest due to the fact that the famous bearing capacity equations are proposed for conventional footings. Many studies underlined the applicability of artificial neural networks (ANNs) in predicting the bearing capacity of foundations. However, the majority of these models are built using conventional ANNs, which suffer from slow rate of learning as well as getting trapped in local minima. Moreover, they are mainly developed for conventional footings. The prime objective of this study is to propose an improved ANN-based predictive model of bearing capacity for thin-walled shallow foundations. In this regard, a relatively large dataset comprising 145 recorded cases of related footing load tests was compiled from the literature. The dataset includes bearing capacity (Qu), friction angle, unit weight of sand, footing width, and thin-wall length to footing width ratio (Lw/B). Apart from Qu, other parameters were set as model inputs. To enhance the diversity of the data, four more related laboratory footing load tests were conducted on the Johor Bahru sand, and results were added to the dataset. Experimental findings suggest an almost 0.5 times increase in the bearing capacity in loose and dense sands when LJB is increased from 0.5 to 1.12. Overall, findings show the feasibility of the ANN-based predictive model improved with particle swarm optimization (PSO). The correlation coefficient was 0.98 for testing data, suggesting that the model serves as a reliable tool in predicting the bearing capacity.展开更多
