Spectral, Thermal and Antibacterial Studies for Bivalent Metal Complexes of Oxalyl, Malonyl and Succinyl-bis-4-phenylthiosemicarbazide Ligands

The thermogravimetry (TG) and derivative thermogravimetry (DTG) have been used to study the thermal decomposition of some oxalyl (H<sub>4</sub>OxTSC), malonyl (H<sub>4</sub>MaTSC) and succinyl-bis-4-phenyl- thiosemicarbazide (H<sub>4</sub>SuTSC) ligands and their metal complexes using Horowitz-Metzger (HM) and Coats-Redfern methods. The kinetic thermodynamic parameters such as: E<sup>*</sup>, ΔH<sup>*</sup>, ΔS<sup>*</sup>and ΔG<sup>*</sup> are calculated from the DTG curves. The isolated complexes have the general composition [M<sub>2</sub>(L) (H<sub>2</sub>O)<sub>6</sub>], where M=Cu(II), Zn(II), L=MaTSC and M=Co(II), Cu(II) or Sn(II) and L=Su TSC and [M<sub>2</sub>(L) (H<sub>2</sub>O)<sub>n</sub>]·nH<sub>2</sub>O where M=Cu(II), Co(II) or Sn(II), L=OxTS or Ma TSC. The tested compounds show a good activity against four strains of bacteria Gram negative Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa species and gram-positive Bacillus cereus and Staphylococcus aureus. 展开更多

Metal (Me=Fe(III), Mo(VI), Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Zn(II) and Cu(II)) 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde thiosemicarbazone complexes (MeHNT) were synthesized and used as mimic-enzyme catalysts to mimic the active group of horseradish peroxidase (HRP). The results showed that Fe-HNT, Mo-HNT are effective catalysts, which have similar catalytic activity as HRP. The sequence of catalytic activities of tested biomimic peroxidas is Mo-HNT > Fe-HNT > Zn-HNT > Ni-HNT > Mn-HNT. Among them, Fe-HNT is used as a mimic-enzyme catalyst in determination of ascorbic acid and glucose by coupling the catalytic reaction of glucose oxidase. 展开更多

The newly chelates were characterized by elemental analysis, IR, mass and <span style="white-space:nowrap;"><sup>1</sup></span>HNMR spectra, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and biological activity. The antibacterial and antifungal activities of the ligands and its metal complexes were screened against bacterial species (<span style="white-space:nowrap;"><i>Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli</i></span>) and fungi (<span style="white-space:nowrap;"><i>Candida albicans</i></span>). Ampicillin and amphotericin were used as references for antibacterial and antifungal studies. The chemical structures of the two ligands as well as the stereo-chemical structures and geometries of the studied metal complexes were suggested depending the results obtained from CHN and TG analysis, NMR, FTIR, and atomic absorption spectrophotometry, electronic spectra, magnetic moments and conductivity measurements. The metal complexes of norfloxacin were prepared, and their structures were characterized using spectroscopic techniques like IR, 1H NMR, UV, atomic absorption, and CHN analysis. The solubility, melting point, and conductance measurements were also performed. These studies suggested that norfloxacin formed complexes with the metals utilizing carbonyl oxygen atom of the ring and carboxylic group oxygen atom. The antibacterial activities of these metal complexes against 14 different Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms were studied by the disk susceptibility method. It was observed that the complexes of norfloxacin with magnesium, calcium, cobalt, nickel, and copper showed improved activity compared with the stated drug. 展开更多

Continuing our work with another derivatives of 1,4-naphthoquinone ligands, this work had been constructed for synthesis of new ligands derived from 1,4-naphthoquinone such as 3-thioacetyl-2-amino-1,4-naphthoquinone and 2-benzoyl-3-amino-1,4-naphthoquinone (L<span style="white-space:nowrap;"><sup>1</sup></span>-L<span style="white-space:nowrap;"><sup>2</sup></span>) which characterized on the basis of elemental analysis, electronic, IR, mass, <span style="white-space:nowrap;"><sup>1</sup></span>H-NMR spectral data. The synthesized ligands have been carried out to achieve the coordination behavior towards bi-valent metal ions like cobalt, nickel and copper. The solid chelates of the different ligands were prepared and subjected to analytical techniques such as elemental analyses, spectroscopic techniques including mass, <span style="white-space:nowrap;"><sup>1</sup></span>H-NMR, and IR spectroscopy, and thermal analyses techniques. The chelates were found to have octahedral geometry. Electrochemical behaviors of the complexes have been studied by cyclic voltammetry in DMF media showing metal centered reduction processes for both of them. The redox properties, nature of the electrode processes and the stability of the complexes were discussed. [Cu(MAPT)2]Cl2 complex shows Cu(Ⅱ)/Cu(Ⅰ) couple and quasi-reversible wave associated with the Cu(Ⅲ)/Cu(Ⅱ) process. The reduction/oxidation potential values depend on the structures of complexes. Also, the antimicrobial activities of these complexes were determined against S. aureus, E. coli and B. subtilis. 展开更多

环丙沙星苯乙基衍生物钴配合物的合成研究

近年来,随着喹诺酮药物在临床中使用量的增大,细菌对其产生了抗药性,因此研发新一代的高效率的环丙沙星的越来越重要。根据构效关系,将苯乙基引入到环丙沙星7位哌嗪环N-4位上,以期获得抗菌谱更广、抑菌性能更好的环丙沙星衍生物。然后... 近年来,随着喹诺酮药物在临床中使用量的增大,细菌对其产生了抗药性,因此研发新一代的高效率的环丙沙星的越来越重要。根据构效关系,将苯乙基引入到环丙沙星7位哌嗪环N-4位上,以期获得抗菌谱更广、抑菌性能更好的环丙沙星衍生物。然后合成金属配合物,使其具有新的生理活性。研究了温度、时间、物料比3个单因素对衍生物产率的影响,通过响应面法得到最佳工艺条件。实验结果表明,环丙沙星苯乙基衍生物在反应时间8.94 h,反应温度100.625℃,反应物料摩尔比为1∶1.1下,产率最高为38.2063%。测得衍生物的熔点为270~275℃、红外光谱在3500~3300cm^(-1)处没有N-H的吸收峰,在1500~670 cm^(-1)处出现C-N的吸收峰,并在3396、1454、1496 cm^(-1)处出现了新的吸收峰,核磁共振氢谱在7.3、2.7、1.2 ppm处出现了新的吸收峰。同时合成了其金属配合物,并用紫外、红外光谱表征了其结构。红外光谱在1725 cm^(-1)和1628 cm^(-1)没有峰出现,紫外光谱在204 nm和289 nm处吸收峰基本为0。 展开更多

合成了脱氢枞胺(5-硝基)水杨醛Schiff碱及其Cu2+、Zn2+、Co2+和Ni2+配合物,用IR、1HNMR,UV-vis,摩尔电导及单晶X射线衍射对其进行结构表征。Cu(L)2形成经典的N2O2配体配合物,属于单斜晶系,C2空间群,晶胞参数为:a=3.6996nm,b=1.0835nm,c=... 合成了脱氢枞胺(5-硝基)水杨醛Schiff碱及其Cu2+、Zn2+、Co2+和Ni2+配合物,用IR、1HNMR,UV-vis,摩尔电导及单晶X射线衍射对其进行结构表征。Cu(L)2形成经典的N2O2配体配合物,属于单斜晶系,C2空间群,晶胞参数为:a=3.6996nm,b=1.0835nm,c=1.2856nm,α=90°,β=103.36°,γ=90°。研究了溶剂的极性对配体和配合物紫外光谱变化的影响,当改变溶剂时,配体能发生分子内质子转移,从醇式结构变成酮式结构。金属配合物能溶于有机溶剂,摩尔电导率数据表明它们在二甲基甲酰胺、氯仿和甲苯中是非电解质,容易发生溶致变色性能。对配体及配合物进行了抑制大肠杆菌、金黄色葡萄球菌及枯草芽苞杆菌的生物活性测定,配体及配合物都表现出一定的生物活性,其中Cu配合物的活性最强,说明配合物的生物活性与金属有关。 展开更多
