During thermal poling process the anhydride reacts with the epoxy group and the resulting crosslinked network structure will stabilize the second harmonic generation in the poled film. The second harmonic generation of the poled film shows a maximum with the variation of composition this is presumed to be due to the effects of the increasing of concentration, orientation order as well as orientation stability of chromophore groups during crosslinking.展开更多

The IPN showed only one T-g, and hence a homogeneous-phase morphology was suggested. The second-order nonlinear optical coefficient (d(33)) of the IPN was measured to be 1.72 X 10(-7) esu. The study of NLO temporal stability at room temperature and elevated temperature (100 degrees C) indicated that the IPN exhibits a high stability in the dipole orientation due to the permanent entanglements of two component networks in the IPN system. FS) was synthesized and then reacted with 3-isocyannatopropyl triethoxysilane (ICTES) to form a functionalized silicon alkoxide precursor (named ICTES-FS). Sol solutions were obtained after co-hydrolysis/condensation of ICTES-FS, tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) and 3-(Trimethoxysilyl)propyl methacrylate (TSPM). Transparent films were only fabricated with the sol containing high concentration of TSPM. Higher concentration of TSPM was found useful to abate dipolar chromophore interactions and consequent aggregation problems. The third-order nonlinear optical properties of all samples were measured by using nanosecond Z-scan measurements at 532 nm. At the identical mass concentration of 0.15 mg·mL-1, all PPy derivatives exhibited an obvious reverse saturable absorption performance, while the saturable absorption response was observed for PPy. The second molecular hyperpolarizability γ(-ω,ω,-ω,ω)of the two samples was investigated by antiresonant ring interferometric nonlinear spectroscopic (ARINS) technique using femtosecond modelocked Ti:sapphire laser in the spectral range of 720 nm - 820 nm. The observed spectral dispersion of γ has been explained in the framework of three-essential states model involving the ground state, a one-photon excited state and a two-photon excited state. The observed optical nonlinearity has been correlated with the electronic structure of the two samples. The energy of two-photon state, transition dipole moments and line width of the transitions have been estimated. Our studies show that the arrangement of polymer chains in polydiacetylene nanocrystals is more favorable for higher nonlinearity.展开更多
According to the one-dimensional tight-binding Su-Schrieffer-Heeger model, we have investigated the effects of charged polarons on the static polarizability, axx, and the second order hyperpolarizabilities, γxxxx, of...According to the one-dimensional tight-binding Su-Schrieffer-Heeger model, we have investigated the effects of charged polarons on the static polarizability, axx, and the second order hyperpolarizabilities, γxxxx, of conjugated polymers. Our results are consistent qualitatively with previous ab initio and semi-empirical calculations. The origin of the universal growth is discussed using a local-view formalism that is based on the local atomic charge derivatives. Furthermore, combining the Su Schrieffer-Heeger model and the extended Hubbard model, we have investigated systematically the effects of electron-electron interactions on αxx and γxxxx of charged polymer chains. For a fixed value of the nearest-neighbour interaction V, the values of αxx and γxxxx increase as the on-site Coulomb interaction U increases for U 〈 Uc and decrease with U for U 〉 Uc, where Uc is a critical value of U at which the static polarizability or the second order hypcrpolarizability reaches a maximal value of αxx or γxxxx. It is found that the effect of the e-e interaction on the value of αxx is dependent on the ratio between U and V for either a short or a long charged polymer. Whereas, that effect on the value of γxxxx is sensitive both to the ratio of U to V and to the size of the molecule.展开更多

Herein, by utilizing the concept ...Large nonlinear optical(NLO) coefficient and good stability, two essential factors to evaluate second-order NLO materials, are difficult to be achieved in one molecule simultaneously. Herein, by utilizing the concept of "isolation chromophore", "isolation group" and dendritic structure, a dendritic molecule D-NS and a dendronized hyperbranched polymer DHP-NS are prepared to investigate their structure-property relationship. For the small dendritic molecule D-NS, it exhibits a high d33 value of 140 pm/V.But this value can be easily dropped when the temperature is higher than 50 °C, which extremely limits its real application. After introducing D-NS into a dendronized hyperbranched polymer chains, the obtained DHP-NS also shows a high d33 value of101 pm/V, but much better stability than D-NS. Even when its thin film was heated to 120 °C, no obvious decay can be observed in the d33 value of DHP-NS. This work demonstrates an effective strategy to realize both large NLO effect and good stability simultaneously.展开更多

Employing unsymmetrical 2-mercapto-5-methyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole and 2,2′-bipyridine as mixed ligands, a new low-dimensional coordination polymer [Zn(MMTA) 2 (2,2′-bipy)] n (MMTA = 2-mercapto-5-methyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole...Employing unsymmetrical 2-mercapto-5-methyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole and 2,2′-bipyridine as mixed ligands, a new low-dimensional coordination polymer [Zn(MMTA) 2 (2,2′-bipy)] n (MMTA = 2-mercapto-5-methyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole, 2,2′-bipy = 2,2′-bipyridine), has been synthesized under solvothermal condition and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction. This compound crys- tallizes in the noncentrosymmetric space group Cc, with cell parameters: a = 8.291(4) , b = 15.483(9) , c = 15.620(6) , = 96.00(5)°, V = 1994.1(2) 3 , and Z = 4. The mixed ligands link the zinc center into a mononuclear unit, which is futher linked by weak C-H···N and C-H···S hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional noncentrosymmetric framework. The compound exhibits intense photoluminescence and distinct NLO properties at room temperature. The intensity of the green light produced by the powder sample of the compound is about 3.2 times that produced by KDP powder. On the basis of the results of TG analysis, the structure is thermally stable up to ~260 °C.展开更多

Furthermore, combining the Su Schrieffer-Heeger model and the extended Hubbard model, we have investigated systematically the effects of electron-electron interactions on αxx and γxxxx of charged polymer chains. For a fixed value of the nearest-neighbour interaction V, the values of αxx and γxxxx increase as the on-site Coulomb interaction U increases for U 〈 Uc and decrease with U for U 〉 Uc, where Uc is a critical value of U at which the static polarizability or the second order hypcrpolarizability reaches a maximal value of αxx or γxxxx. It is found that the effect of the e-e interaction on the value of αxx is dependent on the ratio between U and V for either a short or a long charged polymer. Whereas, that effect on the value of γxxxx is sensitive both to the ratio of U to V and to the size of the molecule.

文摘In this study,two new dendronized nonlinear optical(NLO)polymers were synthesized with high FTC chromophore loading density by introduction of high generation chromophore dendrons on the side chains.Due to their suitable molecular weights,both of them possessed good solubility in common solvents.They also inherited the advantages of dendrimers(large NLO coefficient),especially for PG2 whose NLO coefficient d33 value was as high as 282 pm·V^–1.Also,PG2 had a good temporal stability with 80%of its maximum value being retained at the temperature as high as 129℃.

文摘A new type of dendritic polymer, named dendronized hyperbranched polymer (DHP), was prepared successfully by the macro-monomer approach. Thanks to the perfect 3D isolation effects, DHPG1 exhibited good NLO property with d 33 value of 133 pm/V, higher than its analogues of dendronized polymer and dendrimer, and its stability of NLO effect was also enhanced.

文摘A novel hyperbranched polymer (3) was prepared by copolymerization of tri-aldehyde moieties with azo chromophores having two active methelene groups, from "A2+B3" approach based on simple Kneovenagel reaction. For comparison, its analogue linear polymer (5) was also synthesized. The two polymers are soluble in common organic solvents, and exhibit good thermal stability. Interestingly, the hyperbranched polymer demonstrates dramatically enhanced second-order nonlinear optical property with comparison to its linear analogue.

文摘Large nonlinear optical(NLO) coefficient and good stability, two essential factors to evaluate second-order NLO materials, are difficult to be achieved in one molecule simultaneously. Herein, by utilizing the concept of "isolation chromophore", "isolation group" and dendritic structure, a dendritic molecule D-NS and a dendronized hyperbranched polymer DHP-NS are prepared to investigate their structure-property relationship. For the small dendritic molecule D-NS, it exhibits a high d33 value of 140 pm/V.But this value can be easily dropped when the temperature is higher than 50 °C, which extremely limits its real application. After introducing D-NS into a dendronized hyperbranched polymer chains, the obtained DHP-NS also shows a high d33 value of101 pm/V, but much better stability than D-NS. Even when its thin film was heated to 120 °C, no obvious decay can be observed in the d33 value of DHP-NS. This work demonstrates an effective strategy to realize both large NLO effect and good stability simultaneously.

文摘Dendrimers are considered as a promising family of organic second-order nonlinear optical (NLO) polymers because of their well-defined structures, easily modified peripheral functional groups, interior branches and central cores. In order to obtain NLO materials with high performance, dendrimer structures have been optimized in the past years, such as the "branch only" and the "root containing" type dendrimers. This feature article highlights the achievements in exploring the rational design of dendrimers, partially marked by their macroscopic NLO performance.

文摘Employing unsymmetrical 2-mercapto-5-methyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole and 2,2′-bipyridine as mixed ligands, a new low-dimensional coordination polymer [Zn(MMTA) 2 (2,2′-bipy)] n (MMTA = 2-mercapto-5-methyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole, 2,2′-bipy = 2,2′-bipyridine), has been synthesized under solvothermal condition and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction. This compound crys- tallizes in the noncentrosymmetric space group Cc, with cell parameters: a = 8.291(4) , b = 15.483(9) , c = 15.620(6) , = 96.00(5)°, V = 1994.1(2) 3 , and Z = 4. The mixed ligands link the zinc center into a mononuclear unit, which is futher linked by weak C-H···N and C-H···S hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional noncentrosymmetric framework. The compound exhibits intense photoluminescence and distinct NLO properties at room temperature. The intensity of the green light produced by the powder sample of the compound is about 3.2 times that produced by KDP powder. On the basis of the results of TG analysis, the structure is thermally stable up to ~260 °C.
