The significance is being drawn to the identification of formal and informal political party leader personalization of effectivity. ANC President, world-famous black leader Nelson Mandela, was elected asthe first black State President and the organization’s National Chairman ThaboMbeki as First Deputy President. F.W. de Klerk, former State President andleader of the National Party remained in the new government as the Second DeputyPresident.
