Understanding the pore water pressure distribution in unsaturated soil is crucial in predicting shallow landslides triggered by rainfall,mainly when dealing with different temporal patterns of rainfall intensity.Howev...Understanding the pore water pressure distribution in unsaturated soil is crucial in predicting shallow landslides triggered by rainfall,mainly when dealing with different temporal patterns of rainfall intensity.However,the hydrological response of vegetated slopes,especially three-dimensional(3D)slopes covered with shrubs,under different rainfall patterns remains unclear and requires further investigation.To address this issue,this study adopts a novel 3D numerical model for simulating hydraulic interactions between the root system of the shrub and the surrounding soil.Three series of numerical parametric studies are conducted to investigate the influences of slope inclination,rainfall pattern and rainfall duration.Four rainfall patterns(advanced,bimodal,delayed,and uniform)and two rainfall durations(4-h intense and 168-h mild rainfall)are considered to study the hydrological response of the slope.The computed results show that 17%higher transpiration-induced suction is found for a steeper slope,which remains even after a short,intense rainfall with a 100-year return period.The extreme rainfalls with advanced(PA),bimodal(PB)and uniform(PU)rainfall patterns need to be considered for the short rainfall duration(4 h),while the delayed(PD)and uniform(PU)rainfall patterns are highly recommended for long rainfall durations(168 h).The presence of plants can improve slope stability markedly under extreme rainfall with a short duration(4 h).For the long duration(168 h),the benefit of the plant in preserving pore-water pressure(PWP)and slope stability may not be sufficient.展开更多

The struct...In the preparation of this precursor tetraethlortho silicate (TEOS), sodium tungstate, ethyl alcohol, HCl and RECl3(RE=Eu,Tb) were mixed and then heated at 800 ℃ for 2 h, leading to a luminescent compound. The structure of the materials was characterized by TG-DTA and IR analysis, and the results indicate that the materials were in SiO2 network structure. Three-dimensional fluorescence spectra was used to characterize the luminescent properties of the materials. The luminescence property of doped and un-doped Eu3+or Tb3+ and Na2WO4 in silica materials were prepared and measured. The results show that good energy transfer from WO2-4 to Eu3+ ion, sensitized the luminescence intensity of Eu3+ remarkably. Tb3+ ion incorporated silica materials expressed the inverse energy transition from Tb3+ to WO2-4, however, we got the materials with homogeneous green blue fluorescent light. Finally, the energy transfer of WO2-4 and Eu3+, WO2-4 and Tb3+ were explained by energy levels diagram.展开更多

Mismatches easily exist in traditional binocular stereo matching due to the repeatable...An automatic three-dimensional(3D) reconstruction method based on four-view stereo vision using checkerboard pattern is presented. Mismatches easily exist in traditional binocular stereo matching due to the repeatable or similar features of binocular images. In order to reduce the probability of mismatching and improve the measure precision, a four-camera measurement system which can add extra matching constraints and offer multiple measurements is applied in this work. Moreover, a series of different checkerboard patterns are projected onto the object to obtain dense feature points and remove mismatched points. Finally, the 3D model is generated by performing Delaunay triangulation and texture mapping on the point cloud obtained by four-view matching. This method was tested on the 3D reconstruction of a terracotta soldier sculpture and the Buddhas in the Mogao Grottoes. Their point clouds without mismatched points were obtained and less processing time was consumed in most cases relative to binocular matching. These good reconstructed models show the effectiveness of the method.展开更多

An incorrect identification of patterns of fluorescence may be an important source of bias in the interpretation of results. Previous papers report different criteria to define as “positive” a specific pattern of fluorescence, namely: membrane fluorescence, homogeneous fluorescence of the body, or homogeneous fluorescence of the body plus flagellum. In this paper, we report a detailed description of preparation of slides and of the patterns of fluorescence that can be obtained employing “in house” prepared antigen. At least six main patterns of fluorescence may be observed: 1): homogeneous cytoplasmatic green fluorescence;2): membrane pattern, in which the fluorescence is mainly localized along the entire perimeter of the parasites;3): coarse-speckled cytoplasmatic fluorescence;4): flagellar pattern, in which the fluorescence is localized exclusively onto the flagellum;5): punctiform pattern, in which the fluorescence is localized exclusively at the basis of the flagellum;6): nuclear pattern, in which only the nucleus of the parasite shows a homogeneous green fluorescent. The upconversion luminescence was attributed to ^5D3→^7F5, ^5D3→^7F4, ^5D3→^7F3, ^5D4→^7F6, ^5D4→^7F5, ^5D4→^7F4, and ^5D4→^7F3 transitions of Tb^3+. The relationship between upconversion luminescence intensity and the pump power indicated that a three-photon simultaneous absorption process was dominant in this upconversion luminescence. The intense red, green, and blue upconversion luminescence of Tb^3+-doped CaO-Al2O3-SiO2 glass may be potentially useful in developing three-dimensional display applications.展开更多
Sensitivity is crucially important for surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy(SERS)application to detect trace-level polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)in the seawater.In this study,a high sensitivity three-dimensiona...Sensitivity is crucially important for surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy(SERS)application to detect trace-level polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)in the seawater.In this study,a high sensitivity three-dimensional(3-D)SERS substrate composed with syringe filter,glycidyl methacrylate-ethylene dimethacrylate(GMA-EDMA)porous material and optimal parameters(57 nm,pH 13)gold nanoparticles(Au NPs)was developed for the detection of PAHs in water.The enhancement effect and repeatability of this 3-D substrate were also explored.The Raman intensity of pyrene using 3-D SERS substrate is about 8 times higher than that of substrate only using p H 13 gold colloid solution and about 12 times higher than that of substrate using natural Au NPs and GMA-EDMA porous material,which means both the pH 13 AuN Ps and the GMA-EDMA porous material are important factors for the sensitivity of this 3-D SERS substrate.Good repeatability of this optimal 3-D substrate was obtained.The relative standard deviation(RSD)is less than 8.66% on the same substrate and less than 3.69% on other different substrates.Four kinds of PAHs,i.e.,phenanthrene,pyrene,benzo(a)pyrene,benzo(k)fluoranthene and their mixture,were detected at the different concentrations.Their limits of detection(LODs)are 8.3×10^-10(phenanthrene),2.1×10^-10(pyrene),3.8×10^-10(benzo(a)pyrene)and 1.7×10^-10 mol L^-1(benzo(k)fluoranthene),respectively.In addition,these four PAHs were also detected by fluorescence spectroscopy to evaluate the sensitivity of SERS technology using this optimal 3-D SERS substrate.The results showed that the sensitivity of SERS based on the 3-D SERS substrate even using the portable Raman system was closed to that of fluorescence spectroscopy.Therefore,the SERS technology using this optimal 3-D substrate is expected to be an in-situ method for the detection of environmental PAHs.展开更多

The spinal cord was cut into serial frozen sections. The Fluoro-ruby labeling was clearly delineated from the surrounding structure. The labeling traversed the cervical, thoracic and lumbar segments, and was located on the ventral portion of the posterior funiculus on the injected side, proximal to the intermediate zone of the dorsal gray matter. The fluorescence area narrowed rostro-caudally. The spinal cord, spinal cord gray matter and corticospinal tract were reconstructed using 3D-DOCTOR 4.0 software, resulting in a robust three-dimensional profile. Using functionality provided by the reconstruction software, free multi-angle observation and sectioning could be conducted on the spinal cord and corticospinal tract. Our experimental findings indicate that the Fluoro-ruby retrograde fluorescent tracing technique can accurately display the anatomical location of corticospinal tract in the guinea pig and that three-dimensional reconstruction software can be used to provide a three-dimensional image of the corticospinal tract.展开更多

X-ray analysis reveals that a three-dimensional network has been formed between Eu3+ by carboxyl of adipic acid. The crystal is of orthorhombic, space group Pbcn with a = 21.870(7), b = 7.652(2), c = 19.624(6) ?, V = 3284.1(17) ?3, Z = 4, Dc = 1.878 g/cm3, μ = 3.854 mm-1, F(000) = 1824, R = 0.0345 and wR = 0.0565. The coordination polymer exhibits intensive red light under UV excitation at room temperature, which is attributed to the 5D0→7F2 transition of Eu(Ⅲ) ions.展开更多
The synthesis of fluorescent nanomaterials has received considerable attention due to the great potential of these materials for a wide range of applications, from chemical sensing through bioimaging to optoelectron- ...The synthesis of fluorescent nanomaterials has received considerable attention due to the great potential of these materials for a wide range of applications, from chemical sensing through bioimaging to optoelectron- ics. Herein, we report a facile and scalable approach to prepare fluorescent carbon dots (FCDs) via a one-pot reaction of citric acid with ethylenediamine at 150 ℃ under ambient air pressure. The resultant FCDs pos- sess an optical bandgap of 3.4 eV and exhibit strong excitation-wavelength-independent blue emission (λEm = 450 nm) under either one- or two-photon excitation. Owing to their low cytotoxicity and long fluorescence lifetime, these FCDs were successfully used as internalized fluorescent probes in human cancer cell lines (HeLa cells) for two-photon excited imaging of cells by fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy with a high-contrast resolution. They were also homogenously mixed with commercial inks and used to draw fluo- rescent patterns on normal papers and on many other substrates (e.g., certain flexible plastic films, textiles, and clothes). Thus, these nanomaterials are promising for use in solid-state fluorescent sensing, security labeling, and wearable optoelectronics.展开更多
Three-dimensional fluorescence spectroscopy was used to investigate the fluorescent properties of soil dissolved organic matter(DOM)in the water-levelfluctuation zone(WLFZ)of Kai County,Three Gorges Reservoir(TGR).Mos...Three-dimensional fluorescence spectroscopy was used to investigate the fluorescent properties of soil dissolved organic matter(DOM)in the water-levelfluctuation zone(WLFZ)of Kai County,Three Gorges Reservoir(TGR).Most of the soil DOM analyzed in this study was found to contain four fluorescence peaks.Peaks A and C represent humic-like fluorescence,whereas peaks B and D represent tryptophan-like fluorescence.Peaks E and F,which represent tyrosine-like fluorescence,only appeared in certain soils.Soil humus was the main source of DOM in soil,and higher concentration of soil DOM was found in the exposed soil than submerged soil.Compared to the peaks A and B,the fluorescence intensities of peaks C and D were strongly influenced by the fluctuating water level.Analysis of fluorescence intensities of different peaks in soil DOM showed that WLFZ soil was not contaminated significantly.Soil DOM contained at least two types of humic-like fluorescence groups and two types of protein-like fluorescence groups.The proportion of the content of peak A in soil organic matter was quite stable.The soil DOM in exposed soil had relatively high humification and aromaticity,and periodic submerging and exposure of soil had an impact on the humification of soil DOM.展开更多

By introducing a direct way of deriving the 3D scattering potential of the object from the synthesized angular spectra, we obtain the quantitative subcellular morphology in refractive indices(RIs) side-by-side with its fluorescence signals. The additional contrast in RI complements the fluorescent signal, providing additional information of the targeted zones. The simultaneous dual-contrast 3D mechanism unveiled interesting information inaccessible with previous methods, as we demonstrated in the human immune cell(T cell) experiment. Further validation has been demonstrated using a Monte Carlo model.展开更多

The fluorescence spectra of the samples were measured, and then factorized into basis matrix and coefficients matrix by multiplicative iterative NMF. The fluorescence spectra, reconstructed from the basis matrix, are similar to the original spectra. The coefficients matrix is taken as the input of support vector machine(SVM) to establish a prediction model for the determination of liquor ages. Compared with the principal component analysis, the prediction model based on SVM has a predicted accuracy better than 91.7%. This method can provide helps for the market supervision on the aged liquors.展开更多

Mismatches easily exist in traditional binocular stereo matching due to the repeatable or similar features of binocular images. In order to reduce the probability of mismatching and improve the measure precision, a four-camera measurement system which can add extra matching constraints and offer multiple measurements is applied in this work. Moreover, a series of different checkerboard patterns are projected onto the object to obtain dense feature points and remove mismatched points. Finally, the 3D model is generated by performing Delaunay triangulation and texture mapping on the point cloud obtained by four-view matching. This method was tested on the 3D reconstruction of a terracotta soldier sculpture and the Buddhas in the Mogao Grottoes. Their point clouds without mismatched points were obtained and less processing time was consumed in most cases relative to binocular matching. These good reconstructed models show the effectiveness of the method.
文摘Although Indirect Immuno-Fluorescent Antibody Test (IFAT), performed employing “in house” prepared antigen, is considered by several authors as the golden standard for the quantisation of anti-leishmania antibodies in dogs, there is a lack of papers reporting a description of the different patterns of fluorescence that can be observed. An incorrect identification of patterns of fluorescence may be an important source of bias in the interpretation of results. Previous papers report different criteria to define as “positive” a specific pattern of fluorescence, namely: membrane fluorescence, homogeneous fluorescence of the body, or homogeneous fluorescence of the body plus flagellum. In this paper, we report a detailed description of preparation of slides and of the patterns of fluorescence that can be obtained employing “in house” prepared antigen. At least six main patterns of fluorescence may be observed: 1): homogeneous cytoplasmatic green fluorescence;2): membrane pattern, in which the fluorescence is mainly localized along the entire perimeter of the parasites;3): coarse-speckled cytoplasmatic fluorescence;4): flagellar pattern, in which the fluorescence is localized exclusively onto the flagellum;5): punctiform pattern, in which the fluorescence is localized exclusively at the basis of the flagellum;6): nuclear pattern, in which only the nucleus of the parasite shows a homogeneous green fluorescent. The significance of each pattern is discussed.

文摘A near infrared to visible blue, green, and red upconversion luminescence in a Tb^3+-doped CaO-Al2O3-SiO2 glass was studied, which was excited using 800 nm femtosecond laser irradiation. The upconversion luminescence was attributed to ^5D3→^7F5, ^5D3→^7F4, ^5D3→^7F3, ^5D4→^7F6, ^5D4→^7F5, ^5D4→^7F4, and ^5D4→^7F3 transitions of Tb^3+. The relationship between upconversion luminescence intensity and the pump power indicated that a three-photon simultaneous absorption process was dominant in this upconversion luminescence. The intense red, green, and blue upconversion luminescence of Tb^3+-doped CaO-Al2O3-SiO2 glass may be potentially useful in developing three-dimensional display applications.

文摘Sensitivity is crucially important for surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy(SERS)application to detect trace-level polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)in the seawater.In this study,a high sensitivity three-dimensional(3-D)SERS substrate composed with syringe filter,glycidyl methacrylate-ethylene dimethacrylate(GMA-EDMA)porous material and optimal parameters(57 nm,pH 13)gold nanoparticles(Au NPs)was developed for the detection of PAHs in water.The enhancement effect and repeatability of this 3-D substrate were also explored.The Raman intensity of pyrene using 3-D SERS substrate is about 8 times higher than that of substrate only using p H 13 gold colloid solution and about 12 times higher than that of substrate using natural Au NPs and GMA-EDMA porous material,which means both the pH 13 AuN Ps and the GMA-EDMA porous material are important factors for the sensitivity of this 3-D SERS substrate.Good repeatability of this optimal 3-D substrate was obtained.The relative standard deviation(RSD)is less than 8.66% on the same substrate and less than 3.69% on other different substrates.Four kinds of PAHs,i.e.,phenanthrene,pyrene,benzo(a)pyrene,benzo(k)fluoranthene and their mixture,were detected at the different concentrations.Their limits of detection(LODs)are 8.3×10^-10(phenanthrene),2.1×10^-10(pyrene),3.8×10^-10(benzo(a)pyrene)and 1.7×10^-10 mol L^-1(benzo(k)fluoranthene),respectively.In addition,these four PAHs were also detected by fluorescence spectroscopy to evaluate the sensitivity of SERS technology using this optimal 3-D SERS substrate.The results showed that the sensitivity of SERS based on the 3-D SERS substrate even using the portable Raman system was closed to that of fluorescence spectroscopy.Therefore,the SERS technology using this optimal 3-D substrate is expected to be an in-situ method for the detection of environmental PAHs.

文摘Fluoro-ruby was injected into the posterior funiculus of the spinal cord in the cervical (C5-T2) and lumbar (L3-6) segments of adult guinea pigs. The spinal cord was cut into serial frozen sections. The Fluoro-ruby labeling was clearly delineated from the surrounding structure. The labeling traversed the cervical, thoracic and lumbar segments, and was located on the ventral portion of the posterior funiculus on the injected side, proximal to the intermediate zone of the dorsal gray matter. The fluorescence area narrowed rostro-caudally. The spinal cord, spinal cord gray matter and corticospinal tract were reconstructed using 3D-DOCTOR 4.0 software, resulting in a robust three-dimensional profile. Using functionality provided by the reconstruction software, free multi-angle observation and sectioning could be conducted on the spinal cord and corticospinal tract. Our experimental findings indicate that the Fluoro-ruby retrograde fluorescent tracing technique can accurately display the anatomical location of corticospinal tract in the guinea pig and that three-dimensional reconstruction software can be used to provide a three-dimensional image of the corticospinal tract.

文摘A novel coordination polymer [Eu2(C6H8O4)3(H2O)2]n?n(4,4?-bpy) (Mr = 928.51) was synthesized by the hydrothermal reaction of EuCl3?6H2O, adipic acid and 4,4?-bpy, and determined by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, thermal gravimetric analysis, single-crystal diffraction and fluorescence property. X-ray analysis reveals that a three-dimensional network has been formed between Eu3+ by carboxyl of adipic acid. The crystal is of orthorhombic, space group Pbcn with a = 21.870(7), b = 7.652(2), c = 19.624(6) ?, V = 3284.1(17) ?3, Z = 4, Dc = 1.878 g/cm3, μ = 3.854 mm-1, F(000) = 1824, R = 0.0345 and wR = 0.0565. The coordination polymer exhibits intensive red light under UV excitation at room temperature, which is attributed to the 5D0→7F2 transition of Eu(Ⅲ) ions.
文摘The synthesis of fluorescent nanomaterials has received considerable attention due to the great potential of these materials for a wide range of applications, from chemical sensing through bioimaging to optoelectron- ics. Herein, we report a facile and scalable approach to prepare fluorescent carbon dots (FCDs) via a one-pot reaction of citric acid with ethylenediamine at 150 ℃ under ambient air pressure. The resultant FCDs pos- sess an optical bandgap of 3.4 eV and exhibit strong excitation-wavelength-independent blue emission (λEm = 450 nm) under either one- or two-photon excitation. Owing to their low cytotoxicity and long fluorescence lifetime, these FCDs were successfully used as internalized fluorescent probes in human cancer cell lines (HeLa cells) for two-photon excited imaging of cells by fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy with a high-contrast resolution. They were also homogenously mixed with commercial inks and used to draw fluo- rescent patterns on normal papers and on many other substrates (e.g., certain flexible plastic films, textiles, and clothes). Thus, these nanomaterials are promising for use in solid-state fluorescent sensing, security labeling, and wearable optoelectronics.

文摘Three-dimensional fluorescence spectroscopy was used to investigate the fluorescent properties of soil dissolved organic matter(DOM)in the water-levelfluctuation zone(WLFZ)of Kai County,Three Gorges Reservoir(TGR).Most of the soil DOM analyzed in this study was found to contain four fluorescence peaks.Peaks A and C represent humic-like fluorescence,whereas peaks B and D represent tryptophan-like fluorescence.Peaks E and F,which represent tyrosine-like fluorescence,only appeared in certain soils.Soil humus was the main source of DOM in soil,and higher concentration of soil DOM was found in the exposed soil than submerged soil.Compared to the peaks A and B,the fluorescence intensities of peaks C and D were strongly influenced by the fluctuating water level.Analysis of fluorescence intensities of different peaks in soil DOM showed that WLFZ soil was not contaminated significantly.Soil DOM contained at least two types of humic-like fluorescence groups and two types of protein-like fluorescence groups.The proportion of the content of peak A in soil organic matter was quite stable.The soil DOM in exposed soil had relatively high humification and aromaticity,and periodic submerging and exposure of soil had an impact on the humification of soil DOM.

文摘The conformations of bovine serum albumin (USA) and egg albumin (EA) in solution and their conformation changes under different conditions were studied by using three-dimensional fluorescence spectrometry (TDFS) such as three-dimensional fluorescence (TDF) spectra and three-dimensional fluorescence polarization (TDFP) spectra with tryptophan residues in protein molecules as an intrinsic fluorescent probe. The results show that the microenvironment of tryptophan residues of protein molecules in various solutions can be directly indicated and TDFS is an effective tool for studying protein conformation in solution. Meantime, some valuable results were obtained.

文摘We report a dual-contrast method of simultaneously measuring and visualizing the volumetric structural information in live biological samples in three-dimensional(3D) space. By introducing a direct way of deriving the 3D scattering potential of the object from the synthesized angular spectra, we obtain the quantitative subcellular morphology in refractive indices(RIs) side-by-side with its fluorescence signals. The additional contrast in RI complements the fluorescent signal, providing additional information of the targeted zones. The simultaneous dual-contrast 3D mechanism unveiled interesting information inaccessible with previous methods, as we demonstrated in the human immune cell(T cell) experiment. Further validation has been demonstrated using a Monte Carlo model.

文摘The determination of Luzhou-flavor liquor ages is carried out by three-dimensional fluorescence spectroscopy combined with non-negative matrix factorization(NMF). 37 samples of aged liquors with weighted ages of 15, 20 and 25 years were prepared by blending three Luzhou-flavor original base liquors with storage ages of 10, 20 and 30 years in different proportions. The fluorescence spectra of the samples were measured, and then factorized into basis matrix and coefficients matrix by multiplicative iterative NMF. The fluorescence spectra, reconstructed from the basis matrix, are similar to the original spectra. The coefficients matrix is taken as the input of support vector machine(SVM) to establish a prediction model for the determination of liquor ages. Compared with the principal component analysis, the prediction model based on SVM has a predicted accuracy better than 91.7%. This method can provide helps for the market supervision on the aged liquors.

文摘Three-dimensional fluorescence (TDF) spectra of ethidium bromide (EB) in various environments, such as different types of micelle and glycerol solution, have recentiy been studied. In this note, the TDF spectra of EB are used to study the conformation change of calf thymus (CT) DNA and fish sperm (FS) DNA in different conditions.The results show that the TDF spectra of EB can not only be used to fingerprint CT DNA and FS DNA, but also effectively explain the interaction between EB and DNA and indicate the conformation change of DNA in different conditions.
